ic Fisticuffs 2: Dynamo vs Jack of All Blades (IC)
Geez3r replied to Geez3r's topic in Sewers and Subways
*Snerk* Dynamo cracked up laughing. "C'mon, I think we've moved a bit beyond that a this point. Besides dude, that trick only works on high fives. That way you get the whole awkward whirlwind arms thing going on, and occasionally, ya get to watch them stumble a bit. Classic. Seriously man, ya got to keep up with stuff. I mean I know a lot of things have changed since you were born, but ya gotta keep tabs on what all us whipper snappers are up to. So how about it?" says Dynamo as he continues holding his hand out.- 35 replies

Hokay, so, the Interceptors have a pool of shared Equipment. And now Dynamo has joined their ranks. He's going to have to chip in for some of the Equipment cost. At the same time, the HQ is likely going to get some improvements due to the events of Interrupting Cow. So, do we redistribute the point costs for everyone, or just have Dynamo effectively pay for the Improvements? And what exactly would the improvements be? EDIT: So it's in one place, here is the Interceptor's current Equipment: Interceptors HQ: [21EP] Size: Large; Toughness: 10; Features: Combat Simulator, Communications, Computer, Concealed 2, Defense System, Fire Prevention, Garage, Gym, Living Space, Holding Cells, Infirmiry, Power 2, Power System, Security System 2, Workshop Defense System 1: Snare 11 Power 1: Healing 10 (PFs: Persistent, Regrowth) [22pp] Power 2: ESP 6 (Visual, 20 mile range [all of Freedom City]; Extra: No Conduit; Flaw: Medium – Surveillance equipment; PFs: Subtle, Rapid [x10]) [14PP] AND Quickness 12 (Flaws: Limited to Search) [4PP] AND Quickness 12 (Flaws: Limited to Notice) [4PP] MAVERIC (Mobile Armored Vehicle for Emergency Response and Intercepting Criminals): [13EP] Size: Huge [2EP] Strength: 35 [1EP] Speed: 5 [5EP] Toughness: 10 [1EP] Defense: 8 [0EP] Features: 4 [4EP] Features: Alarm, Caltrops, Remote Control, Smokescreen

"Ah dude sweet! I totally thought you were gonna say no way! Dude, this is awesome brosef." said Dynamo as he took the card as if it was a literal gift from God. He stared at it for a moments, but from the way his pupils were moving, Jack could tell he was doing that whole "slow down time" thing to examine every square inch of the card a thousand times over. "Anyways, thanks for taking the time out to talk to me here brosef. I ain't got no business card or nothing for ya, but I might see ya out on patrol one of these days, who knows? But, like I said, it's been a pleasure." said Dynamo as he extended his hand.- 35 replies

That test wasn't too bad. I could just kinda zone out and do my thing, one number after another. The test that really got on my nerves was when they gave me a Rubik's cube to solve. That was a complete joke. I spent 10 minutes (real time) beating my brains against the fricken wall and I couldn't get more than 3 sides of the thing solved. If I put my brain on auto pilot, I wouldn't get anywhere. That's only for meaningless tasks where the order I do something in doesn't matter too much. With a Rubik's Cube, order's everything. So I had to at least check in every now and then to see how progress was going. The phrase 2 steps forward, one step back seems like an apt description. VINCE seemed to think it was pretty darn funny. I wasn't really in a laughing mood. I mean I spent to so long trying to get it right, but I couldn't. That just sucks. Especially because it means I could never actually solve the thing the boring way. But VINCE thought I could do better. So now he's got be doing a bunch of logical reasoning things . Like some sort of IQ test thing. The tests are pretty cool, but they make me feel dumb, and more homework is never a good thing.

Will save DC 24 vs Mind Control (1d20+7=12) poop. And I'm unlikely to pass, even with a HP reroll.

"Alright, let's go fight this monster." says Dynamo before dashing off to go find and combat the monster. When he gets to the basement however, not only does he see no monster, nothing's even out of place. Deciding to check on the rest of the museum, he does notice that a great number of the works are flat out missing. He also finds a shady character right in the area of the pilfered works. They totally tricked me. Might as well give them a wake up call. Dynamo sprints through the museum, closing on his target. His incredibly cute target. With a smirk, Dynamo decided to have a little fun. Wreathing his hand in electricity, Dynamo ran past Red Queen, giving her a little love tap as he ran on by. Not wanting to press his luck, he darted out of the museum and back onto the streets. He circled the surrounding blocks, using his keen vision to keep tabs on the ladies as he did so. It wasn't leering now that they were fighting, it was observing your opponent.

Dynamo is going to go ahead and take a 20 on a Search check on the museum as a free action. He'll notice that there is actually no monster in the basement and there is an unidentified 3rd party stealing pretty much everything in sight. He may have no idea what in the world is going on, but he can recognize a crime in progress. Free Action, set array to Paralyze Effect. Move Action, get up to Red Queen, because I didn't technically move with the Search check somehow. Standard Action, slap Red Queen with the paralyze effect, possibly being a sneak attack. *Crosses fingers and prays to the IC gods* Attack roll vs Red Queen with Paralyze effect DC 23 Fort save. Possibly a sneak attack. (1d20+11=17) Use Move By Action to circle the general area around the museum a few dozen times.

"Uhh.... that didn't go quite as planned." muttered a rather bemused Dynamo. He would have been a bit more freaked out, but there's a bit of emotional disconnect to causing a zombie harm. Besides, all he really managed to do was behead the zombie again, something he had just proven he could come back from. "Now where the heck did his head get off to this time?" Dynamo took off scouring he area for the zombie head. Note to self, leave Science! to the professionals, or at least keept practicing on the dead. Sidenote: must incorporate lab coat into traditional costume, it's bad-ass.

Dynamo stepped out for some air, tearing himself away from the conversation with Gossamer and Mongrel Angel. OK, that was a lie; he hadn't been paying attention to their words for a while now. Though they did have other assets requiring his rapt attention. Somehow they mistook his intentions. Suffice to say, he decided it was in his interest to be elsewhere for a little while. That was when he stumbled across Dead Head's headless body. Assuming this was some kind of prank, Dynamo scoured the surrounding area looking for Dead Head's head. Finding it in a dumpster, he noted that it wasn't actually moving about. Dynamo cast a weary eye around, trying to figure out what was going on. But then an idea clicked, and he had to try it. Setting DH's cabeza down next to his body, Dynamo was now clad in a borrowed lab coat and goggles, holding what appeared to be jumper cables. Dynamo was then suddenly wreathed in arcing lighting as he held the cables aloft, loading proclaiming "Stand back! I'm going to try Science!" before cackling madly.

So VINCE had me doing a bunch of stupid tests trying to figure out how fast I am, how fast I process information, all that junk. Now the only reason I'm doing all this garbage (other than the roof over my head and the food in my stomach) is that VINCE made all the tests sound really cool, but I forgot how long it would seemingly drag on for me. Now most of the tests aren't bad. They're stupid menial work, I can kinda turn my brain on auto pilot and just do it without feeling like I'm sitting there forever. Like one of the tests he's got me doing is trying to figure out a password. Alls I got to do is just punch in one alphanumeric phrase after the other until I get the right one. Now because VINCE has been all programed for Science! and the like, he wants a sample size. Meaning my ass ain't moving from that chair for a while. I understand the reason for it, sometimes I just plug in the right combination by sheer luck a few minutes (relative to me) before I do on the next test or the previous test. The first couple of days weren't so bad, I kept melting all the key pads, so I got off early. Took me quite a few tries to figure out how to now pass friction off to the pad, I finally got it though. I usually didn't have a problem cuz I would only touch something once, but repeatedly punching on the keys would totally mess them up.

"Thanks brosef. That means a lot to me." said Dynamo as he let out a sigh of relief. He dug around in his goodie bag looking for something else to eat for a moment. "Not really sure about this one,but uh... do you think we could go out on patrol some time, help show me the ropes and that sorta thing? Like show me stuff to look out for, places where crimals hang out and the like. Normally, I just run around the city randomly til I see a dude doin' something they ain't ought to be doin' ya know? I'd like to be a bit more proactive and junk. Seems like that'd be something up your alley, no pun intended."- 35 replies

While Fulcrum was on the phone, Dynamo busied himself with tidying up the kitchen. Taking out the pizza boxes, moping up some of the orange juice, washing and putting away some of the dishes for the day, that sort of thing. It was a role he had sort of taken on in the house. No one really was too messy, but Dynamo had kept the place practically sparkling. Not a particularly hard feat for someone of his speed. "Sorry to say, but that ain't the way it played out Doc. Dude was sitting right there, listening in our meeting. He heard everything we said. Who knows what other sort of intelligence he coulda gotten his mits on up in here broDoc. Ya sure he can be trusted, or does he got his own agenda? Cuz if we need to track his butt down, we need to get a move on."

Dynamo's eyes went shifty as he looked for a hole in Jack's argument. When none came to him, he countered with a joking "Shush. You don't know. You think you know, but you don't know. You're like a child." Discarding the now empty bag of chocolate chips, he looked back over at Jack, almost as if he was studying him. With a sigh, and a bit of hesitation, Dynamo continued. "Alright. This is gonna sound way outta left field, but I want your honest opinion. Jack, do I come off as like spoiled to you? Like, I don't deserve what I've got?" a twinge of uncertainty crept into Dynamo's voice.- 35 replies

"At my speeds, how far away could I be in the time it took me to recover?" retorted Dynamo with his arms crossed. When Jack mentioned the flaming crack, again, Dynamo's face scrunched up. "I ain't living that down any time soon am I? Despite the evidence, I do know when to hold my tongue. Something you might want to brush up on yourself there too." said Dynamo slowly with a sidelong glance. "I started with a racially incentive joke, and followed with a crack on someone's sexual choices. You retorts were making a crack about my sexual performance followed by a crack at my race. Now maybe I'm speaking outta ignorance cuz I don't see the line, but maybe you need to take stock on where the line is too brosef. We don't want to be having this conversation in reverse. Mostly cuz I can't go that long without saying brosef, and you don't want to get lectured by me of all people." finished Dynamo with a smile.- 35 replies

Potential Power Stunts: Dynamo, under the tutalage of VINCE, and indirectly Dr. Archeville, has begun experimenting with what exactly his speed can do. They require refining before they can see regular use, but they can be done out of desperation, or a need to show off. The Tornado By running in tight circles, Dynamo is able to create a very strong updraft, capable of lifting up very heavy materials. Dynamo is even able to move the tornado across distances, keeping the items aloft. Dynamo can use this trick on water to lift the water up and into the tornado and bring it to where it is needed. This will most likely be put into practice in the even of a fire. WHAM! This is just about the least graceful weapon in Dynamo's arsenal, and quite possibly the most deadly, for all involved. Rather than trying to punch a target as he goes zipping by, in a desperate scenario, Dynamo will run as fast as he can and bodily plow into his opponent. Dynamo will likely only survive this by manipulating the energy generated by the impact and using it to somehow cushion the shockwaves that would otherwise devestate his body. It's not the running that hurts ya, it's the sudden stop. Whirling Cyclone This ability is when Dynamo whirls his arms around and he is able to generate hurricane force winds which he can use to hurl enemies away from him. Unlike the Tornado mentioned above, this only pushes targets away from Dynamo and does so violently. There isn’t much finesse involved. Resonance Field This is Dynamo’s most complex ability. He combines his ability to move at extreme speeds and his ability to generate electric fields into one potent ability. He uses his ability set up vibrations in the air around him, and uses electrical abilities to modify the molecular bonds, creating a sort of barrier.

Dynamo believes that they are the heroes. He may be flat footed against an attack if its considered a feint. However, for purposes of ranged attacks, Dynamo and Marionette may be considered in melee combat, if not in a grapple. On the other hand, Dynamo has Uncanny Dodge and Danger Sense.

"Heh. Dude, then we should just totally set the passwords to "ZOMG EDWARD IS TEH AEWSOME!!!!11 SO HOT LIEK OHEMGEE!!! and the problem will solve itself." The scariest part of that statement is that Dynamo was actually able to pronounce that sentence, though he did have a small coughing fit after the fact. Clearing his throat he continued "Ahhh-Hem. Not doin' that again. So stupid question: If this is Doc's building, and he's the tech guy, why doesn't he just update the security himself? I mean, ain't he like the landlord or something? Seems like it's more Doc's shoddy works manship than a problem we need to deal wit right? Also, how many laser beams am I going to have to dodge for posing the previous question?"

Dynamo chuckled at the fact that Jack seemed stunned that Dynamo actually knew something. "Hey, remember when I said I don't like slowing time down? Yeah, figuring out how to take down some super villains and avoiding getting my butt handed to me on a silver platter is something I can dedicate an afternoon to mulling over there Jack. I'm not complete idiot, some of the time anways. It's the thousand monkeys with a thousand typewriters scenario, I'll stumble on a good idea eventually. Lunges don't really work neither. You lunge, and then you recover; there's no lunge and then keep going maneuver. Guess I'll have to talk to Rocket at some point."- 35 replies

"Hey, don't think of me as being a guy who has no idea how to fight; think of me as the guy with the fastest punch going. See? Suddenly it don't seem so bad, right?" said Dynamo with a half convinced smile. He wasn't sure if this was helping or just pouring salt in the wounds. "Like, here, lemme show ya." said Dynamo as he dashed out the east side of the arena. A few seconds later he came back into the arena from the west side. "That right there was a lap. The biggest lap you can take brosef. But, I took some basic self defense classes, but they weren't much help. I mean, can you honestly say you know of any fighting style that can be used at full sprint?"- 35 replies

Took a 20 on every Knowledge Check, and Dynamo has Jack of All Trades for just such a reason. If I went overboard with the knowledge, lemme know.

Dynamo coughed a little bit as he returned Grim crushing hug while an unknown mental struggle waged within him. Don't grab her butt, don't grab her butt, don't grab her butt... It ain't gonna be funny, she's just gonna hurt you, just like everyone else in the room will. And no, it will not be "worth it" "Bit of a death grip there Grim doncha think?" said Dynamo as he straightened his back a bit. "And don't worry, Jack's already given me a lesson in regards to group name calling. I'll be good, scouts honor." In regards to Grim's question, Dynamo dashed out of the room only to reappear a moment later. "Okay, just did some research on vamps up at the library. So like in some legdends and stuff, vamps could totally like turn into mist and just kinda waft around. But like those same vamps had to like ask permission to get into some place, they had to be invited. So maybe Venger gets around that some how. Or maybe it was cuz Doc asked him to spy?"

Jeez I suck at this banter thing, good lord. Dynamo hastily back peddled, both literally and figuratively. "Woah, woah, woah. Calm down there. I didn't mean nothing by it. I was just pointing out the fact that the answer was literally capable of reaching out to him and smacking him upside the head. I mean c'mon, he set me up for that and everything! 'Sides I know Colt's a smart dude; he picked you didn't he?" said Dynamo with a smile. "Now, in the future, I encourage you to do that 'Dumb-namo' thing again when I get outta line 'cuz that was friggen hilarious."

[beat] *Facepalm* Shaking his head with his hand still fully attatched to his face, Dynamo learned this was going to be a long talk. *Sigh* "Grim can ya do me a favor and explain to the cowboy here the wonders of electricity, and what exactly a dynamo is?" he asks dryly. Fighting back laughter he continued ragging on Colt "I say, boy you don't seem to be apprehendin' the general gist of what I'm trying to convey here. Maybe you oughta take a second, let your head catch up to your tongue before it gets all sunburnt. That was a joke, son, I say - a joke!" Holding up a hand he added to Jack, but still intentionally loud enough to be heard by everyone he added "Nice boy, but he's about as sharp as a sack o' wet mice."

"So its a good thing I didn't immediately set out to go find his house and leave him a cheeky note. Good to know." mused Dynamo over his shoulder as he dug through the fridge looking for something to drink. Pulling a bright blue carbonated concoction out of the now organized fridge he continued "And as for the whole table trick, it's something Vince came up with last week. I wanted to see what else I could do with the speed stuff. Turns out if I precisely vibrate my molecules I can phase through solid matter. It's actually alot easier to do than it sounds brosef. Takes quite a bit of concentration and I can't do much other than run around while I'm doing it, but hey, really screws with drunk people so it all works out." Taking a swig of his drink he turns his attention to Grim "So, you got any plan beyond "be awesome"? I think we got that pretty well covered already."
