Roll Initiative and have at it.

********** FIGHT 5 ********** It was time for the lightning round to commence. The up and coming speedster was set to take on his idol, who had actually been covertly keeping tabs on. Maybe Dynamo would join the Interceptors one day. But for now, Jack of All Blades and Dynamo would meet in the ring, a complete clash of characters was about to take place. Both liked to chew the scenery, but have vastly different methodologies. It was likely to be an intense fight.

Roll some Initiative and get down to it. Oh and don't kill one another.... much.

This occurs before any and all of the other matches. This is for heroes showing up on scene and shooting the breeze before any actual matches. Unless they specifically duck out early, every hero is present in every thread. They are merely being run at the same time so the thread as a whole will play out faster. If you are not in a match, you are part of the peanut gallery. Interject if you feel the need, but you participation is only required in your own personal fight thread and this thread. After all the match threads have been set up, I will include a chronological list here for ease of browsing.

Date: May 23rd, 2010 The city was in sad shape, but the day had been saved, but barely. The heroes realized that they needed to better themselves should such a dire situation ever arise again. An old abandoned arena, probably from the hey day of Circus Maximus would prove to be a way to better themselves. This was a venue where the heroes could spar away from prying eyes, on neutral ground and best of all, not worry about hurting anyone. Word was spread through the grapevine in the hero community. Take the evening off to come test your mettle against the other heroes. No one knew definitively who was coming, though heroes had their suspicions. But among all of these unknowns, there was one truth to the whole matter, tonight was going to be an interesting night.

After a particularly heavy thwap against the ground, the creature threw up Dead Head, along with what appeared to be the shorn remains of a Hot Dog stand. The experience did not appear to be a pleasant one. The creature wobbles back and forth on its legs as more of its meals decide to make a second pass. The creature appears to have no idea where it is in the slightest, let alone having any desire to continue the fight. However, having a drunken super-powered rhino loose in the city is likely a bad idea.

To a fencer as skilled as Jack, hitting this massive creature took no dicernable effort. It was slightly harder than hitting a stationary wall at best. That's not to say that Jack was asleep at the wheel however. Jack was able to utilize his immense prowess to weave between the legs of the creature and hamstring the poor thing 8 ways to Sunday. Yelping in pain, the creature fell to one knee, unable to support its massive frame on its injured legs.

I don't need to oppose the feint, you exceed their defense by enough to cap the auto-fire's damage as is. Base DC 23 + 5 PA + 6 Autofire = 34 Toughness Titan Toughness save vs Jack Flurry DC 34 (1d20+16=27) Bruised and Stunned. 21 Grimlakin - Unharmed - HP x6 17 Jack of All Blades - Unharmed - HP x6 17 Colt - Unharmed - HP x8 17 House - Bruised x4, Stunned until 21 9 Sarah Prescott - Bruised x1 - HP x3 8 Fulcrum - Bruised x2 - HP x3 6 Brick - Bruised x3, Shaken, Staggered, Stunned until 5 5 Titan - Bruised x1, Stunned Until 17 (JoAB)

Yep, it passes. And it was an opposed power check, not a grapple Cy. So Dead Head gets popped out of the Brick.
-
Whoops, yeah that's what I meant. It would've helped if I said what you're opposing
-
We'll do an opposed roll. Roll your Gravity Control rank.

Ditto. No new FC book (or other setting book) until 2011. EDIT: Also, I hope they tweak Growth, Density and Shrinking.

That hits, which setting were you using?

Dead Head felt the beast stop its rampage. Also, the rough musculature of the creature reacts quite violently to Dead Head provovation, as one might suspect. The other heroes see the creature stop running, and start sort of curling into a fetal position. It staggers from side to side, as if it were going to be sick. Apparently, Dead Head isn't exactly easy to swallow.

Ordinarily the critters are immune to crits, but I'm gonna handwave that because well... "daymn" comes to mind. I'm also jacking the DC to 30 for much the same reason. Brick Toughness save vs DH GROM NOM NOM DC 30 (1d20+14=24) Bruised and Stunned Refocused Avenger - Unharmed - HP x6 20 Dead Head - Unharmed - HP x4 - Inside the Brick 14 Dark Star - Unharmed - HP x7 7 Titan - Bruised x1, Staggered, Unconscious. 6 Brick - Bruised x2, Stunned until 20 5 House - Bruised x2, Staggered, Unconscious 1 Phantom - Unharmed - HP x5

"Yes, we've been scanning for that. We went with your idea first." says Powers nodding to Quark. "However, there hasn't been anything major on the radar. There's always something on the radar, but this is Freedom, and nothing of major of major consequence. We've only just begun to search the more esoteric energy signatures, so nothing to report on one way or the other. If you'd like to examine the results yourselves, look at this screen here, results will come in as they're found."

It was a clean hit too. Well actually not too clean, Grim was in fact filleting a fish in the face. I mean that's just nasty. Creature thought so too. One hand went up to his face to protect the wound, and possibly hold his face on (ew), while the other took blind swipes at Grim as it lashed out in anger. None where even remotely close to hitting Grim, it was just attacking out of pain.
