These wide strings of attacks got the attention of the government almost immediately. These attacks were seemingly too random. There was no earmarks of any involvement from the usual suspects. No demands, no rhyme or reasons behind these attacks at all. All they had in common was that it was 3 monsters in every area just causing as much destruction as they could muster, panicking the citizens and generally sowing chaos. But to what end? AEGIS felt this was jus the tip of the iceberg and recruit some of Freedom’s best and brightest. They wanted to figure out what this was all about before the next stage came to pass. AEGIS sent helicopters to pick up those in the know to bring them to AEGIS HQ.

There were lots of monsters on the streets today, only unlike the rest of the city, some of these monsters were heroes. It was in this part of the city that the destruction was the most devastating. There is no heavy industry to stall the monsters, apartment buildings and businesses are folding like a house of cards under the assault. A giant gorilla was scaling an apartment building for unknown reasons. What was known however is that all the shattering glass and falling rubble was dangerous to passersby, not to mention the fact that it he kept it up, the building would lose all structural integrity. On the streets a giant spiky mole creature was burrowing through the streets, tearing up any electrical, water and gas lines it came across. Huge gouts of flames were springing up all over the place. One of which was focused on an abandoned taxi which would surely cause it to explode given a moment. Lastly, another, smaller looking monkey is jumping from building to building as if they were trees. He keeps screaming, seemingly at random and the shockwave is tearing through all the glass in the surrounding area, flipping over cars and causing massive destruction.

Every now and then people wake up with that feeling in their stomach that the day is going to suck. They’ve got no reason for that belief. As far as they know, this is just another ordinary day, and most of the time it really is just a normal day. Other times however... you wish you had stayed in bed. Today will fall into the latter category. The early morning passes just like any other day. People get up, say good bye to their families and head off to work or to school or run some errands. But then, right before 11 o’clock things turned real sour, real fast. Monsters were lose in the streets, seemingly appearing out of no where. Heedless of the danger, the heroes sprang into action as the first explosion broke the early morning silence. The scene before you was one of wanton destruction. It was a rampage, nothing but the after effects of brutal savagery. And judging from the roars and shockwaves, there was still something out there hell bent on destroying everything it came across. Smoke was already billowing high into the sky, and you could taste the ash in the air.

The Pramas Bridge was under assault. This was made worse by the fact that the bridge was full of cars going both directions with midday traffic. Several cars were already teetering on the edge, all except 2 abandoned by their occupants. At the southern side of the bridge, a monster is barreling straight towards the bridge, intent on running through and over any cars (and it’s occupants). Underneath the bridge, a massive cargo ship is under attack by another creature. The crew members are seeking refuge from the onslaught by jumping into the water, away from the creature. The creature seems to enjoy hurling several of the shipping containers towards the support beams of the bridge, when not simply tearing up the ship itself. The ship is already taking on water. Lastly, there is another creature in the center of the bridge, this one towering over 20ft in the air. This monstrous behemoth is intent on destroying one of the supports for the suspension bridge. If they succeed, very few people are getting off this bridge alive.

The monsters in this area have targeted Jordan International Airport. There are 3 creatures. One is a 20ft tall abomination causing chaos on the landing strips. One plane, which appeared to be in the process of being towed to the hangar and therefore was mercifully empty, is already scattered over the tarmac in flames. If the creature continues to run lose, then none of the incoming planes will be able to land. A second creature is rampaging throughout the hangars of the facility. It looks a patchwork Frankenstein monster with only one eye. For the most part the employees have had the good sense and legs to get far out of harms way. However, judging from the series of explosion emanating from the hangar, it’s not wise to let this creature run around unmolested when there’s so much fuel around. The final creature is in the airport terminal itself, chasing after panicked Freedomites. It looks some kind of humanoid turtle moving in a kind of weird lurching motion. The creature doesn’t seem to be too fast, but it is plowing through every single support column it comes across. If the creature doesn’t catch the citizens, the falling roof probably will.

The disturbance is coming from the Union Rail Yards. Some distance away it becomes apparent what the cause of the disturbance is. There appears to be 20ft tall moss covered monster tearing up the tracks and hurling (thankfully) unoccupied train cars at the surrounding buildings. However, it would appear this creature was not alone. On the train yard, you can see another creature that looks like armored bug running at full tilt towards a train heading into the station roughly 2 miles ahead of it. The train is full of people and doesn’t look like it will be stopping in time and the creature looks intent on running smack into it. But its not over yet. There is yet another monster that seems intent on picking up one of the cranes the site uses to load heavy materials onto the trains. Lord knows what he wants with that crane, but if his friends are any judge, its not anything good. Strangely, this one seems to look like a fish man. What’s it doing so far away from the water? Over the sounds of shrieking metal you can hear the sounds of alarms blaring everywhere, and the screams of the terrified citizens as they wisely put some distance between them and the rampaging monsters.

Jestnut reaches into his jacket pocket pulling out a tiny wind up car. "Remember, it's not the size that matters its how you use it." He wound the crank a few times and set the car on the ground where it expanded into a rather garrish looking full sized car. Jestnut hops in, rolling down the window and throwing open the passenger side window. The locator device is on the dash board of the car. "If there's one thing a mutt knows how to do, it's chase a car. Hop in!"

Atlas Questionaire I can has extra pp plox?

Okay so to break it down: South Freedom Arrowhawk Carbon Mongrel Angel Midnight Wesley Freedom Angel Young Freedom Geckoman Hellion Phalanx Wander Psyche Breakdown The West End Jack of All Blades Colt Grimlakin Fulcrum Sarah Prescot Hanover Dr. Archeville Ace Danger Quark Gossamer Some place else Dark Star Dead Head Avenger Phantom Aurora All of these threads follow more or less the same plot line with the exception of the Hanover thread. As you can tell, the Hanover thread is dealing with the Science! and Subterfuge part of the Invasion. But this is only for the Intro part of the thread. There are going to be 3 main series of events, with the availability to both A - pick where you're going and B - who's going with you. So 3 questions: 1) Does the set up look good to everyone? 2) Did I miss anyone? 3) Where is "Some place else" taking place?
-
There are in fact threads like that durf. The Invasion is not a single battle. It's not a single thread. It's akin to a story Arc.

Alright, almost finalized the batman protocols. Before I assign you to groups, does anyone want to be either A) in a particular part of the city or be teamed up with certain other characters?
-
Welcome aboard. Both can join right in.

Atlas chuckled at Jack's joke, hitting on the very reason Atlas hadn't pushed anything. He had no idea how he would react to space, and the last thing he wanted to do was get an abject lesson in his own mortality. "It's part of ze new model." said Atlas with a smile. His body changed appearance looking like a blue spiky humanoid with what looked like armor plating. "I just look different though. Still just as strong and tough. Well... less because I'm smaller." Atlas was also apparently able to kill his accent. Atlas shot a quizzical eye at Arrowhawk as he refused to man the guns, but didn't press the issue figuring it was a personal issue. The more human heroes always had some intense feeling of some kind. It was best to not push that button either.

Malice was busy clacking away on the keyboard, several cords and plugs from the computer attached to his armor and vice versa. He was never one for much witty banter, not that he could get a word in edge wise with Knievel around. But more than anything it was Doctor Archeville's beastly security system. The program was likely written by Archeville at some point, and that was their only saving grace. Smart as Archeville is, he doesn't have time to update every single security system in everyone of his facilities personally. Meaning this program was a couple months old; in Science! terms, that means decades. Long enough to acquire some information, study it, crack it, test it and learn from it. Without stopping his work at the terminal he called out over the Comm Link "Watch it out there. In case you haven't seen the news, these guys aren't exactly push overs. Remember where pride gets you." cautioned Malice referring back to his first and only piece of life advice he had given to his students.

Thanks for the sympathies everyone. The problem got resolved and I can graduate on time.
-
Real life just kicked me in the nuts. I just found out I'm not graduating because I'm missing 1 class. The one class isn't ordinarily offered again until next spring. Until that gets ironed out, you're not seeing me.
