Atlas held out his hand, indicating towards the star board side of the ship in general. "And all of zose lights over in zat corner over zere say "Big Red Man" no touchpress." said Atlas with a smirk. Truth be told, one of the best arts of getting his powers was that he didn't have to drive any more. He wasn't a bad driver per se, but the roads were still safer without him on them. He did not want to know what would happen if you gave him the wheel to a inter steller space ship.

Master Plan rolls (1d20+15=31, 1d20+15=34) & Initiative (1d20+0=10) for when it finally comes up

Working on "Batman Protocols" to assess the relative strengths and weaknesses of the characters so that when I split you into teams, the teams are more or less balanced. I was thinking of 5 teams, with roughly 1 new character and 1 brick per team, and then filling in the gaps trying to keep an even-ish (effective) PL for the group. Nothing against the new people, but they have less points to throw around than the veterans, and bricks so someone can go a round or two with Atlas and the other nasties should it come to that. In no particular order we have: Mongrel Angel Aurora Carbon Dead Head Dr. Archeville Phalanx Grimlakin Gossamer Avenger Freedom Angel Geckoman Arrowhawk Jack of All Blades Midnight Scarab Sarah Prescot Wesley The Black Hand Carbon Quark Colt Breakdown Fulcrum That's 23 characters, so far. If your character's name is not on this list and you would like them to be, please respond indicating the previous. If your character is on the list, and you don't want them on there, again post a reply. Once this all gets squared away, we should get started. Also, in the likely event that this arc (not thread, arc) lasts for longer than April, use the latest version of your character sheet.

Jestnut's locator suddenly gives a loud beep. "I'm moving that way, and fast too. How to we catch up?" Jestnut pulls out a fist sized red ball, and a ball of yarn. He waves them in front of Lambkos and Feline respectively. "Hey! Look, lookit this! Huh? See it, huh? What is it? What is it? Eh? Want it, huh? You wannit!? GO GEDDIT!" he shouts as he throws the balls towards the reading he just got.

*Cracks knuckles* Let's see if I still remember how to do this now. Gearing up Malice for the new thread. First, give Malice 20 more points to spend. (Based on me earning 3pp/month while he's in retirement plus the odd point here and there) Get 3 points by getting rid of the Benefits. [-3pp] Okay, spend 4 points to get rid of the 1 armed drawback. Malice has outfitted himself with a cybernetic replacement. Of note it looks distinctly robotic and inhuman. [4pp] Bump Intelligence up to 24, the proper human maximum. Also bump Constitution to 14. [4pp] Buy 4 more ranks in Will save. [4pp] Buy 10 ranks in Computers, Craft (electronic) & Mechanical, Intimidate, and Knowledge (Technology). Buy 13 ranks in Disable Device. That will bring all of those skills up to 18 ranks. Drop Sense Motive entirely, he can use the other interaction skills to the same effect, but better. Buy 5 ranks in Notice. Buy 8 Ranks in Knowledge (Tactics). He's been able to greatly increase his research in the Shadow Academy because he doesn't have to be subtle about what he's doing. Also, he's been training and drilling his students (and himself). [17pp] Buy 2 more ranks in Attack. [4pp] For the Mantle of Freedom, get rid of the Enhanced Will Save, the partial Immunity to Entrapment and the Ground Pounder AP. Buy 3 ranks of Protection and 3 ranks of Impervious with those points. [0pp] The purchase 2 more ranks in Device. [8pp] Buy 3 more ranks in Weapons Array. Buy 4 more AP's for the weapons Array. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The Crunchy bits should look as follows: Stats: 24 PP Str: 10/42 (+0/+16) Dex: 10 (+0) Con: 14/24 (+2/+7) Int: 24 (+7) Wis: 12 (+1) Cha: 14 (+2) Combat: 20+16=36 PP Attack: +10, +12 ranged Grapple: +10 or +31 Defense: +8 (+4 flat-footed) [Base Defense +8] Knockback: -14 in suit, -1 without suit Initiative: +0 Saves: 4+3+11 = 18PP Toughness: +18 (Imp 11), +2 without suit Fortitude: +11/+5 [+7/+2 Con, +4] Reflex: +3 [+0 Dex, +3] Will: +12 [+1 Wis, +11], Skills: 160r = 40 PP Bluff 8 (+10) Computers 18 (+25) Craft (electronics) 18 (+25) Craft (mechanical) 18 (+25) Diplomacy 8 (+10) Disable Device 18 (+25) Intimidate 18 (+20) Knowledge (business) 5 (+12) Knowledge (civics) 8 (+15) Knowledge (tactics) 8 (+15) Knowledge (technology) 18 (+25) Medicine 3 (+4) Notice 10 (+11) Search 2 (+9) Feats: 9 PP All-Out Attack Attack Focus (Ranged) 2 Connected Contacts Inventor Master Plan Online Research Power Attack Powers: 88 PP Device 22 (The Mantle of Freedom; 110 points, Hard to Lose) [80pp] Device: The Mantle of Freedom Communication 4 (radio) {4} Enhanced Constitution 10 {10} Flight 5 (250 mph / 2,500 feet {10} Immunity 9 (life support) {9} Protection 11 (Extra: Impervious 11) {22} Super Senses 6 (Darkvision, Direction Sense, Distance Sense, Time Sense, Ultra Hearing) {6} Weapons Array 21 (42 point powers; PFs: Affects Insubstantial 2, 5 Alternate Powers) {49} * BE: Enhanced Strength 32 and Super-Strength 5 (effective Str 58; Lt Load 12.8 tons, Med Load 25.6 tons, Hvy Load 38.4 tons) Righteous Riot * AP: Blast 14 (Extra: Auto-fire) - The 2nd Amendment * AP: Blast 12 (Extras: Targeted 24 - 5ft square cubes Shapeable Area, PFs: Indirect x3, Homing x2, Progression) - Liberation Cannon * AP: Paralyze 14 (Extras: Alternate Save/Fortitude, Range/Ranged) - Shock and Awe * AP: Blast 14 Extras: Alternative Save (Fortitude) - Total Warfare * AP: Disintegration 14 Flaws: Full Round Action - This weapon is deliberately left untitled
Descriptors Weapons Array: After becoming acquainted with the volitile side of conventional weaponry, Malice has opted for a more energy based method. "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!" roared Atlas defiantly at the darkness. "Day in and day out I hear your whispers! Every time I dare to open my eyes I see just the tiniest glimpse of you! I know you're there, so come out and face me! Stop hiding COWARDS!" "As you wish." spoke the Darkness. Atlas's mind was crushed almost instantly by the wave of the mental onslaught. He was dragged down into their deepest depths, for once in his life, utterly powerless. One could not stand against many. "Welcome to the Unity." said Atlas aloud to the dark surroundings of his bed room, his cat darting from the room. "Welcome home." For the first time in nearly a week Atlas slept. He really did need it, after all, tomorrow was going to be a big day.

"Why surely my dear!" Jester promptly stuffs the dummy into a coat pocket, and switches to his orange suit get up, doffing his hat as he takes a bow. "I was merely trying to provide a distraction from our own predicament. I was of the mind that we would spend all together too much time dreading where and when we were sent to, and that is just no fun at all. So, I took our minds off the matter, so that we would focus not on ourselves, but on the others here who need our help. But perhaps I've beaten that horse a bit too long. We've avoided the question of "how do we get home?" but I may have replaced it with "how does that Jester fellow stay so sexy?" ... Or perhaps not. Regardless, it's time we be heroes and help those who need it, yes?" Jester then calmly puts his hat back on and walks over to the temple and knocks on the door, waiting patiently for it to be answered, hands clasped behind his back. Turning back to the group with a grin he says "And somehow, that was the most unexpected thing you've seen me do so far."

I want to accommodate as many players as possible rather than as many characters. So for now, no double dipping until everyone (more or less) has signed up, then we'll fill in the ranks with doubles, maybe even triples.

Alright, the Grue Invasion is upon us... sort of. It won't actually be occurring in the time line until late April/early May, but it is a rather involved series of mini adventures. Now, I'm currently a senior in college, meaning I am really busy at this point in time, so the threads might not move all that fast, but with this many players they rarely do. But that's why I'm starting this early. Just so we're not still going through the Grue Invasion 4 months after it already happened. This is also the thread where Atlas goes a bit evil. Think of it as a combination of Secret Invasion and World War Hulk. So yeah, like the previous Invasion! threads, this is one of the mega-events. There will be many different threads going on at once. So for now, I just want a preliminary list of who wants to sign up. Note: this is one of my threads. This means it will be combat heavy. There will be more than just combat, but there will be lots of combat.

I can't sleep worth a damn anymore. Its worse than feeling like I'm being watched. I keep hearing whispers and white noise no matter where I go. I can't shut it out anymore. The only sleep I'm getting is when I just drop from exhaustion and I usually just wake up a few hours later. I haven't gone on patrol too much recently because of it. I mean honestly, I'm a danger to everyone if I'm not care as it is, the last thing Freedom needs is me stumbling around when I'm just out of it. Especially when my excuse is "Sorry everyone, I just haven't been sleeping all that much because of all the voices in my head." For some reason I don't see that going over so well with FCPD or AEGIS let along the other heroes.

Things are starting to get a little weird. I feel like I'm being followed or watched or something. I can't really describe it, it's like seeing something just beyond the range of your vision. For like the first week, I just shrugged it off, ignoring what was going on and chalked it up to a lack of sleep. But then it kept happening. It wouldn't stop. I really think something's wrong with me. I could just brush it off saying "I'm just being paranoid" but what if I really was paranoid? Am I going to have to spend the rest of my days constantly looking over my shoulder and yet see nothing there? I should probably talk to someone about all this, but do I really know anyone all that well?

"Vell crap..." not wanting to take any chances, Atlas straps himself into a chair. He could probably take the impact, but he wasn't exactly sure anything else in the cabin could. The mental image of a shoe in a dryer came to mind. "It is days like today zat I vished I had gone back to school so I knew vat exactly ve are diving into. Zen again, maybe it is better zat I don't know..."

Does ever hot chick in Freedom speak Russian, what the hell? mused the befuddled Atlas. "" Atlas smiled weakly, still not nearly over the shock of actually being in space. "So..." he said, addressing the gathered heroes in English "... ve got a plan or are ve going to ving it and hope it all vorks out?" Atlas was just hoping there was something to alleviate his nerves; he knew he could bounce bullets, ion cannons and blaster pistols... not so much.

"Yeah probably. Hadn't really thought about it though. I'm more of a big picture guy, the details just sort themselves out." says a puzzled Jester as he wiggles his fingers around in a bowl of pasta. Absent mindingly tossing the bowl over his shoulders, he approaches his skin dummy. "Suppose I should give it a shot though." he ever so gently plucks the dummy's fingers off the ground, but as the last ones are released the ground stays right where it is. "Poop." Jester grabs his skin dummy, and throws in onto their side of the fold. He then rolls up his sleeves, grabbing the ground, lifts it up his above his head and sharply brings it down, like a sheet. Reality rights itself and everything goes back to normal, once Jester smooths out the creases anyways. "Looks like you can do something right dummy." says someone about 5 feet behind Jester... his skin dummy. Jester picks up the skin dummy of himself and runs through a whole ventriloquist routine happy as a clam. "I'm practicing for when we get to see the kiddies." he explains.

Yeah, I'd image these mash ups would see almost exclusive play in the Non-Cannon Boards. So 1/2 per post, as its not the "true" character. Also: I hate you for coming up with this idea the weekend I need to get a ton of writing done.

"You mean we're actually doing something right!? This world is weirder than I thought!" said Jestnut looking genuinely afraid. He abandons... whatever the heck it was he was doing a moment ago... and managed to squeeze his way between Feline and Lambkos faster than you could say "3rd wheel". His eyes darted back and forth scanning the surrounding era, almost as if he was afraid physics was going to pop out from around a corner and command him to fall when he ran off the edge of a cliff. "Lead the wa - aa - ay."

Quotemyname - Mia Carlyle - PL8 Hero (NPC Tier 1)
Geez3r replied to quotemyname's topic in Archived Characters
Well, this build is a perfect example of why we don't make or approve characters while drunk. Combat: You forgot to calculate your grapple, knockback and initiative, and when you do, please denote the difference between de-powered and powered. Saves: Please denote the protection for your toughness save and the difference between normal Con and enhanced Con, do similarly for your Fortitude. Also, your Wisdom and Dexterity modifiers are only +1, not +2 and +3 respectively. Skills: The ability modifiers for Intimidate, Notice, Sense Motive, Stealth and Survival are wrong. Feats: Denote that it's Knowledge (mechanical) as part of Mastery. -
It all checks out. Approved.

GM ONLY POST From Thad's new vantage point, he notices that they are quite a bit more trouble than they thought they were in. None of the surrounding buildings show any new damage, other than the destruction caused in the recent fight. However, everything still has that muted look to it. Thad sees the police making their way to the scene. However, they're still in their cars, and still haven't gotten there yet. In fact, it looks like they won't get the chance because their squad cars don't appear to be moving... at all. Nothing seems to be moving.

Atlas boards the ship like everyone else, but you soon notice he's not nearly as tall as he was a moment ago. He winds up looking like a Psuedo that's been hitting the gym. He stares around the ship, with huge eyes almost like he's trying to take as much of it in as he can in case it disappears when he closes his eyes. Other than bending his knees slightly when the ship takes off, he doesn't pay it much attention. He was too transfixed on the windows as the sky turned to stars. "" says Atlas breathlessly in Russian. The realization hits him and his knees feel weak. He sits down, trying to breath normally, but he's still got a giddy smile plastered all over his face.
