Then, a series of very strange things happen. The ground begins to rubble and crack in line like in all those old bugs bunny cartoons. It twists and turns and even loops back on itself. It head straight for the warehouse Strong Man is guarding. It connects with a solid thud and stops. Then a man wearing a straight jack pops out of the ground nursing his head. "Now who put that there?" He pulls a rather large map out of his pockets. "Knew I should have taken that left turn at Albright. Hey Mack," says the strange man as he approaches Strong Man "You know how I can get to the Liberty Dome from here?" as he holds the map out to him. "Uhh... looks like you just follow up 4th street till you get off on 17, right over that way." "Well thank you kindly. Never would have found it on my own. Here, you're a stand up guy, take a cigar." Jester takes a cigar out of his pockets, jabs it in Strong Man's mouth and lights it, at which point it starts to hiss and sizzle. "Enjoy Mack, you earned it." calls Jester as he dives back into the rabbit hole, leaving Strong Man with a nice big grin on his face. A few seconds later, there's a deafening explosion, and Strong Man's face is covered in soot and a few of his teeth fall out of his head and most of his hair has been comically burnt off. From the rabbit hole, a great deal of manic cackling can be heard.

Jester Initiative (1d20+6=24) Hey look, my turn again. 40 - Dash - Unharmed 24 - Jester - Unharmed, HP x4 20 - Breakdown - Bruise x1, HP x4 17 - Strong Man - Unharmed 16 - Mongrel Angel - Unharmed, HP x4 15 - Jack of all Blades - Unharmed, HP x1 12 - Burn - Unharmed 6 - Thad Minker - Unharmed, HP x3 2 - Force - Unharmed It was a weird descriptor for Mental Blast.

GM ONLY POST Burn is able to whether the hit as the I begins to melt as it approaches him, softening the impact tremendously. "They're coming out of the wood work!" roars Burn in frustration. "Don't worry, I'll thin their numbers." answers Force. She sits cross legged in the air, hands on her knees, eyes closed in meditation. A ghostly image of herself exits her body and streaks straight at Jack, and passes right into his body. Immediately, Jack feels as though someone is trying to burrow through his chest. "Do you know the fastest way to a man's heart?" taunts Force as she floats in mid air. Dash then proceeds to come running out of the warehouse and streaks down one of the street, stopping briefly to hand something to Strong Man. He returns carrying what looks like a bag of base balls and a bat. He throws the bucket into the air, and slugs everyone of the balls at Mongrel Angel before they get anywhere close to the ground before he goes streaking off in the opposite direction.

Hrmm.... Well that would be a rank 15 attack, with a +12 bonus to hit, or PL 13.5, which breaks caps. Yeah... that's what we call a no-no. Well, if the Attack Spec with TK doesn't apply to throwing object only to "hitting" them in first place, that'll drop your bonus to attack to a +6, so PL 10.5 over all, which is much nicer. So while I bring this to the attention of the other Refs, we'll go with that. Don't worry, you're not in trouble, the Refs are supposed to catch something like this in the approval process. Burn Toughness save vs Thad I beam DC 30 (1d20+12=26)

Malice was my original character. I played him for about 17 months. That's why his power cost is weird and he is sitting on a pool of 18 unspent power points. His shtick was that he hates all the meta humans, all of them. I described him in Chat as a combination of Norman Osborne, Lex Luthor and Hitler. When he was last played, he had his arm blown off as Arrowhawk blew up Malice's HQ, with a nice chuck of residential Riverside to go along with it. He spent a few months behind bars where he had a visit from Dr. Archeville and Dark Star, which solidified the fact that he was crazy pants. However, after a few months he was busted out of prison by the higher ups of the Shadow Academy (the anti Claremont) so he could be one of their teachers. They wanted a teacher that knew their way around high explosives and was willing to put the fear of God into the students, and Malice topped a very short list. Shortly after, the "No PC Villains" Rule was enacted. So as far as Cannon is concerned, he's still working with Shadow Academy. The reason that Malice is Tier 1 instead of Tier 2 or even Tier 3 is that I have no problem with letting other people play him. But note 3 things: He considers himself a hero, he has never intentionally harmed a civilian, and he has never committed a robbery.

GM ONLY POST "Tell me, do those lines ever actually work, or do you just like hearing yourself talk?" calls Force to Jack, clearly not too amused. Burn on the other hand has his eyes still on the mission itself, and that means clipping the angel's wings. He concentrates a ball of fire in his hands and lets it loose at the flying target. It looks like he misses, but then the ball of fire suddenly denotes, enveloping Mongrel Angel and the surrounding night sky in a fire ball.

Force Resisting Jack's Trick, DC 31 (1d20+15=32) Force Resisting Jack's Taunt, DC 26 (1d20+15=30) Ooooohhhh, rejected. That's gotta smart.

GM ONLY POST The flames envelop Strong Man, and he is suddenly doubled over clutching his head. "Not real! Not real! Not real!" he shouts over and over again, and with a Herculean effort, he manages to throw off the effects of the flames, but the experience seems to leave him panting for air. "BURN! She doesn't do that again!" shouts Strong Man to the pyro above him.

Strong Man Will Save DC 29 (1d20+9=18) fail by 11. A little too early in the fight to be staggered, so take a HP as I Fiat for the guy. Strong Man Will Save DC 29, GM Fiat reroll (1d20+9=29) Huh... and here I was expecting you to stun the guy even with the Fiat. 40 - Dash - Unharmed 20 - Breakdown - Bruise x1, HP x4 17 - Strong Man - Unharmed 16 - Mongrel Angel - Unharmed, HP x4 15 - Jack of all Blades - Unharmed, HP x1 12 - Burn - Unharmed 6 - Thad Minker - Unharmed, HP x3 2 - Force - Unharmed

So this is what being a hero is like... mused Jester as he took to the roof tops high above the city streets as he was yet another brooding shadow clad between his gargoyle brethren. "BORING!" Jester springs to his feet suddenly clad in swimming trunks, flippers and a snorkel and he swan dives off the roof. He crashes into the ground and is buried up to his waist in the concrete. In the restaurant behind him a score of "10" "9.5" "9" is displayed. Jester again springs to his feet and dusts the dirt off the shoulders of his suit, which he is now miraculously wearing. He struts down the street interacting with the imaginary crowd that adores him, shooting off finger guns, giving high fives, shaking hands, the whole bit. He comes to a stop at the street corner as a cop car goes whizzing by, siren blaring as Jester admires wearing his finest 1920's mafia attire complete with fancy fedora. "Yall nevar catch me coppers see? I'm too quick for ya see?" Jester looks down and then notices the length of rope wrapped around his leg and is quickly going out after the cop car. "Oh poopy."

Unfortunately now the I-beam is wrapped around you like a horse shoe pinning you to the wall, take a Hero Point.

"Heh. Okay. Sounds like fun. Just don't drop me. I vould zink zat it vould make Dark Star even madder vith us zan he already is da?" says Atlas as accepts Fulcrum's offer. But then he noticed Fulcrum was a bit down. "You alright? Still look a little shaken up." Before she can answer Jack walks up and relay's his message. Atlas stays quiet but shoots Fulcrum a "what the heck is that all about?" look.

GM ONLY POST Strong Man threw out his chest and absorbed the impact without any visible trouble. He glanced down and saw a I-beam amidst the rubble. He hefted it up quite easily and threw it like a javelin straight at Breakdown. "You're in my house now punk!" taunted Strong Man as the steel connected straight in Breakdown's chest.

Strong Man Toughness save vs BD Soundwaves DC 27 (1d20+15=27) yeah he's fine. He'll pick up an I-beam as a move action and chuck it as a Standard action at Breakdown. Strong Man Ranged Attack roll vs BD, AoA 5, DC 30 (1d20+10=25) That's 1000ft of knockback there sir if that stuns you. If that does knock you back, you'll go flying into the wall where you face a DC 25 toughness save. It's not enough to put you through the wall, but it'll add a nice dent to one of the warehouses.

Jester and Madcap need to meet up at some point, but not sure if this is the proper venue, too much stepping on each others toes. Perhaps another thread where Jester and Madcap meet up?

Atlas was dimly aware of something going on around him. Fulcrum's last attacks had rocked him hard. Really hard in fact. His ears were ringing, like he had just dived to the bottom of the pool. Heck, he even felt like he was floating. Oh wait... thought Atlas as his mind started to catch up. "Zanks Star..." muttered Atlas to the energy being, aware Dark Star had just said something, but he wasn't quite sure what. Atlas shook his head as his skin and muscles rippled, and Atlas stretched out his neck as he bounced back from the pounding Fulcrum had just delivered. "Ok, vhat's going on?" Atlas muttered to the other heroes as he waved to the crowd. He was trying to save face and make the crowd believe that everything was normal, the last thing he wanted was 80,000 people panicking.

40 - Dash 20 - Breakdown 17 - Strong Man 16 - Mongrel Angel 15 - Jack of all Blades 12 - Burn 6 - Thad Minker 2 - Force Dash took his turn already, he's just running around inside the warehouse... as far as you know  Breakdown's up. Burn and Force are flying about 50 ft up, 30ft apart from one another, with Strong Man being at the center point, albiet 50ft down. If we were using a square grid, Strong Man would be in the square directly in front of the opening in the wall. There's no way through without going through him, other than walking through wall or making your own hole.
-
GM ONLY POST "Dash! Stick to the plan! Strong Man, play goalie!" shouts Burn to the two members on the ground. The two fall quickly into position in what was probably a very rehearsed set of maneuvers. Dash streaks into the building and Strong Man sets himself in the opening in the wall he had made, so that he can impede progress into the building. Burn and Force flew closer together, they were close enough to watch each other's backs without impeding each others moves and also picked out a position where they had a great view of the surrounding area, and ensured that anyone entering the roof from above would probably have to go through them as well. Strong Man replied to Breakdown's demand simply by crushing a piece of the rubble in his hand, and beckoning him closer. Force looked at Jack for a moment as if he were some sort of aberration, before cracking a smile. "Pretty good, I am about to be paid handsomely for crushing a pretty boy into the concrete after all."

... ... "Right... Vhen's ze last time you had a psychiatric evaluation?" said Atlas in jest... probably. Atlas thought for a moment when Doc mentioned how high the machine actually did go. He then realized he had no sense of scale for how big or heavy that actually was. He began thinking out loud, trying to think of some analogy to wrap his mind around that figure. "Vell... if a car veighs about a ton, zen zat vas 180 cars, obviously. And I saw on one of zose nature shows zat vhales can be up to 20 or 25 tons, so zat's like 8 vhales. And zat is my equivalent of a bag of potatoes... so vhat.... I can lift an aquarium or somezing?"
