  1. Reflex save vs DS calling an end to our Shenanigans (1d20+5=25) I lol'd
  2. Toughness save DC 32 (1d20+15=29) Toughness save #2 DC 32 (1d20+14=23) So 2 bruises and a stun. But now the question is, should I get rid of that stun and keep fighting, or take the next's round's abuse and hope I don't get stunned again?
  3. Also, I think this fight has gotten so over the top, I think we can safely nix the "no powers" thing without anyone really noticing. So if you want to give Atlas a sub-orbital suplex, have at it.
  4. Atlas heaved his tremendous backside off the ground at Taylor got off her perch as well, dusting some snow off himself as he got up. He had stayed pretty quiet in the past few minutes. He was still processing everything, it all seemed so surreal. He could have honestly said any day before now that he had never been in a conversation where a vampire, a demon, a witch and a zombie were all discussing horror movies. He expected one of those MTV yahoos to suddenly burst out saying I got busted, or X'd or whatever it was they were calling it now. "Never been one for ze scary movies, zough if I am going to be hanging vith you lot, I guess I should start doing my research or somezing like zat."
  5. The soot settles quickly, almost too quickly, and gives the heroes a good view of what they're walking into, now that the lights aren't chocked out by the soot. The tunnel is quite steep, but just level enough that you can walk down it at your own pace rather than dragging you down. There are a set of old mine cart rails, but judging by the rust, they haven't been used in quite some time. The light fixtures themselves have signs of repairs and modifications, even to the untrained eye. There were some minor repairs, but in other places the entire light itself seemed to have been replaced. As you saw no obvious power source or wires outside, it would make sense that the power source is further down into the tunnels. As you move further into the tunnel you begin to hear the rhythmic sound of machinery of some kind. Someone or something's hard at work down in these mines. The path at the end of the tunnel forks; the machinery sounds like its coming from the right, but you notice that the left fork has copious amounts of soot and may be the source.
  6. Atlas had lucked out in this fight, he was disproportional to most competitors. He had much broader arms relatively to his body so his guard was a bit better than someone of his skill would normally have, and that little extra bit had saved him from what would have been a text book knock out blow. Atlas mimicked Fulcrum's aggressive style and went for an immediate counter attack. He took a defiant step forward and poured all his weight behind a full on, bare knuckle freight train. The force was so massive that the glove on Atlas's other hand exploded from the sheer force of the recoil. A visible shock wave spread out from the point of contact, decimating what remained of the ring, blowing out its supports, sending the whole structure crashing to the ground. Dark Star's force field buckled, cracked and was destroyed, but not before the quick thinking elemental was able to redirect most of the energy up and away from the crowds. The force was enough to knock standing back down into their seats and relocate hats a few rows back, but no damage was done. It would later be announced you could hear that punch over 2 miles away.
  7. Yeah, I rolled like a fiend: 18, 15, 10, 18, 18, and now: The KO, AoA 5/PA 5 vs DEF 13, DC 36 (1d20+6=26) A natural 20 for the coup de grace. I'm going to get the IC up in a moment.
  8. Also, everyone should do a "I'm here!" post before we get to combat. I was just getting the initiative stuff out of the way. Jester will be showing up in a round or two and I'll roll initiative for him then.
  9. Still open if people want in, or if you have another thread idea for Jester.
  10. JoAB, BD, Mongrel Angel and Jester are in the thread so far. We're still accepting people, but better to get the initative stuff out of the way first so people know relatively speaking when they'll be up.
  11. IC Thread OOC Thread
  12. OOC thread, get some initiatives up and we'll get the ball rolling. Initiative: Dash, Force, Strong Man, Burn (1d20+40=41, 1d20+1=2, 1d20+1=17, 1d20+2=12)
  13. GM ONLY POST There was a certain pattern to these sorts of things. Mad scientist makes a break through in their chosen field. Their peers don't recognize their brilliance and ostracize them for their "outlandish theories". Mad scientist swears revenge on those that wronged them. Mad scientist hires goons to "acquire" the necessary components for their nefarious schemes. Heroes move in and foil all the plans. But just because its routine, doesn't mean its any less dangerous, especially when the Mad scientist has deep pockets and can hire some pretty capable goons. A group of mercenaries calling themselves the Power Pack have begun a raid on one of the warehouses in Hanover that hold quite an array of high tech goodies, all ripe for the taking. The Power Pack is a 4 man band composed of: Strong Man, Burn, Dash and Force, the last one being the only girl on the team. They are all clad in a red and black uniform of sorts, though tailored to their individual's taste. When the heroes arrive on scene, Strong Man has breached the walls of the warehouse, and Dash runs inside, probably looking for something specific. Burn and Force are on crowd control, and have neutralized the last of the guards.
  14. Here's my version of Shaen's version of Atlas  My build is very similar to Shaen's, but it has been modified to fit my vision of Atlas and also my play style. Choosing between these two builds is like choosing between 2 models of cars; they'll get you to where you want to go, the ride will just be a little different. The two biggest changes I made are getting rid of the Rage feats and all of the Drawbacks. This will be Atlas post the Grue Invasion, so while he may have had Rage in the past, he doesn't have it now. And even if he did, it's something he'd never use in 999/1000 battles. Also, I don't like the fact that Rage sort of limits your staying power. Atlas should be a forced to be reckoned with in 1st round of combat and in the 21st. The Drawbacks also go away after the Invasion. Basically so the Grue just don't try the same thing again next week. However, because Drawbacks and the Rage feat are quite efficient, I had to make the different up elsewhere. I trimmed the feats quite heavily, and many of the Array settings also waved bye-bye. I toned down the psionics a little. Atlas has psionic abilities, but he's not a master telepath, that viscious mind probe aside. I also got rid of the pyschic vampire bit because its something Atlas would pretty much never do, so it's reserved for a particularly vicious power stunt. I kept Atlas' Super-Strength at where it is today because its already insane and I feel I've hit the point of diminishing returns. That, and Atlas's +44 grapple is already just shy of broken, especially when you consider that Atlas can have you in both a physical grapple and a mental grapple at the same time. Overall, a smaller selection of abilities, but more constant performance in those abilities.

  16. Atlas frowned as he surveyed his options. He was pretty much stuck between a rock and a hard place. But he figured he had a better shot with some voices than he had with weird voo-doo security alarms. Doing an about face, Atlas headed back down the tunnel, trying to be somewhat quiet, but that had never been his strong suit. There was a chance these were his friends, but he really doubted it. But worst case scenario, it gave him something to do for a few minutes.
  17. Bugger. Frontal assault it is.
  18. So I take it there isn't any way for Atlas to move further into the room without setting off a trap right?
  19. Okay, anyone have any specific ideas or anything? Quote suggested Jester popping in randomly to help apprehend a villain, is everyone alright with that or do you want something else?
  20. We try and foster a loving environment here at Freedomplaybypost.... NOTE: Quotemyname was actually logged in at the time. (20:43:46) Geez3r: We need an Intercepters vs Midnighters thread (20:43:46) Gizmo: It's 'cause we're supper good-looking, amirite? (20:44:07) Gizmo: Misunderstanding-Fight-Team-Up! (20:44:15) Geez3r: actually make it a three way and throw Younng Freedom in there too (20:44:21) ShaenTheBrain: Geez just wants an Intercepters vs Midnighters thread so he has an excuse to beat up Quote. (20:44:25) AvengerAssembled: Aw, baby is in the sling and on me! (20:44:28) AvengerAssembled: Now I can post (20:44:37) Geez3r: duh (20:44:49) Electra has tied the baby to AA so that he will catch up on threads (20:44:52) AvengerAssembled: Yes yes, we've all thought about beating up quote. (20:45:00) ShaenTheBrain: But then again, who doesn't want an excuse to beat up Quote? (20:45:06) Dariusprime: Sorry quote, but I must throw you to Atlas. (20:45:12) ShaenTheBrain: And then again, why do we need an excuse to beat up Quote? (20:45:12) Geez3r: (20:45:16) Gizmo: S'fair.
  21. The more the merrier. Besides clowns travel in packs.
  22. Samael studies his hand for a moment, pondering what exactly to do. He finds however that his brain has been replaced with a jar of molasses. He tries to concentrate on something for a moment to get his brain back into working order, so he stares at his own nose for a moment. After doing nothing other than look stupid for a moment, he tosses a few chips in to match Grim's bet with a shrug. "Vin some, lose some, get confused by all."
  23. As Tempest is being archieved, I'll be taking much more of a back seat with them, and be more of a direct GM. So unless you need direct GM involvement, don't wait up.
  24. Tempest nods in approval of Fulcrum's plan. He takes cover like the rest of them. He believed that this substance was likely tied to his inability to contact the Creators, breathing it in was hardly an optimal course of action. "I have prepared myself Fulcrum human, you may proceed whenever you are ready Fulcrum human." called Tempest as he got himself into position.
  25. Jester's ready for action, so who wants to try and put up with the Clown Prince of Chaos? Jester was a formerly a villain, though not a very threatening one, but has recently been doing various heroic things. So maybe you just want to see if he's legit or not.
