GM ONLY POST The chopper manages to barely avoid the streak of hellfire that blows past its nose. They're more maneuverable than they look. In fact, they're more maneuverable than they should be. A standard helicopter shouldn't have been able to avoid that attack at such a close distance.

"Right! I knew that!" said Rocket hastily as he "hung up" his radio. He flew over to where Doctor Vile was sprawled on the ground and picked him up. He then tore off through the complex back towards the labs. He was searching the labs for anything that could hold this guy and hadn't been damaged. He made sure to keep a tight hold on Doctor Vile in case he managed to wake up while in mid-flight.

Samael stooped and help get Dead Head's body back in relative order. Before today, the prospect alone of doing this would leave him unable to keep his lunch down. But with all the terrible things he's seen - and done - today, this one barely registered. Samael didn't really have the hands of the healer, but when you needed someone to remove your own foot from parts unknown, he was your man. Turning to the green haired woman, Samael gave her a nod. "Da. I vill do zat. Ze people are scared enough as it is. Besides, I don't vant to know vat happens if demon vound gets infected. Keep her safe." he adds quietly to her while flicking his eyes in the direction of Taylor. The expression on his face shows he knows that she can take care of herself (quite well in fact) but the fact that she won't when there are other people to be helped first is the distressing thing. As Samael passed Colt he nodded, but then paused. "Zose zings vill kill you."

Yeah I've been looking for that clip in the Incredible Hulk where he transforms at the lab so they can test whether or not they can reverse the transformation, but I can't find it anywhere. If I didn't convey it properly, that's pretty much what it's like.

Samael had to chuckle at this turn of events. "Da, make sure you get my good side." says Samael as he does a few poses last seen on Rumble-a-mania VXII. Samael took a moment to catch his breath and get himself ready for the transformation. Although the process was remarkable quick for someone who had just effectively dead-lifted a truck, but the time probably felt like days to Doctor Archeville. In short order Samael was ready to continue, and deposited the shirt he had borrowed from Doctor Archeville on the ground, he didn't want to tear it to shreds. "Okay. Good to go." Samael said and gave Doc a moment to make any last minute tweaks he needed. Samael took a few deep calming breaths and for a moment, looked entirely still. But then he suddenly lurched forward as the change began. Nearly every vien in his body was suddenly bulging. There was a great number of cracks and groans as his bones expanded and shifted. His skin transitioned to a deep red hue, and was stretched to the breaking point as his muscles compounded over and over again. As the last few bits popped into place, Atlas slowly stood to his new height. He had just put on about 42 inches vertically and at least 30 horizontally, and, if the scale was to be believed, more than 800 pounds. His right hand closed around the barbell and he began lifting it like a bicep curl without paying it the slightest attention. "You catch all zat?"

Attacking a vehicle is just like attacking a character. Vehicles generally have an applicable size modifier included in their Defense, and tend to be easier to hit than characters overall. The driver of a vehicle can take a standard action for “evasive maneuvers†during a round. If so, substitute the result of the character’s relevant skill check (Drive or Pilot), modified by the vehicle’s size, for the vehicle’s normal Defense that round. For example, a character piloting a gargantuan fighter jet (–4 size modifier) takes evasive action and gets a Pilot check result of 22. Subtracting the jet’s size modifier gives a Defense score of 18 for that round (much better than the jet’s default Defense of 6). Just as in melee combat, one can also “fight defensively†while driving a vehicle, which grants a +2 dodge bonus to the vehicle’s Defense and applies a –4 penalty on attack rolls made by any occupants of the vehicle.

"I shall endeavor to create a barricade to stall the demon's entry into the facility. Do what you can to fortify the defenses from here. The humans are counting on us, we must not fail." Without further ado, Tempest left the lobby and went back into the street. He manipulated the matter of the surround cars, trucks and whatever was close at hand to bring them right next to the building. The demons would have to tear their way through the cars before they could get to the wall, which Tempest hoped would give him enough time to stop them.

So this is what hell was like. Words failed at describing how wholly and truly bad it was. Samael had given up trying to convey it. If anyone had any doubt as to how bad it had gotten out there, one look at Samael conveyed the message. He never looked particularly well kept after he finished transforming due to his clothes being in tatters, but this was just something else. He was covered in blood, a great deal of it already dried. His hair was just completely matted down to his skull. If was nearly impossible to find a patch of skin that didn't have a welt or a bruise. His left arm looked like it had a bunch of bite marks on it, he had 3 diagonal slashes across his back and his right leg looked burnt. However, it looked like all those wounds had been tended to and were on the mend, most were entirely scabbed over. But what spoke more volumes than any of that was his eyes. They here hollow, dead, but yet still had the spark of life deep inside. It looked as if every ounce of his being was dedicated to survival at this point. In short, he looked how everyone felt. "Da. He got us." said Atlas simply to Taylor leaving the elaboration to Jack. Samael then turned his attention to Stesha "Bad. Ve slowed zem down, killed.... zousands. Zey just kept coming." To no one in particular he asked "Vhy is zis place safe, and no ozer?"

"Awwww, you do care." said Malice mockingly. "So Doc, can you here the song now? If people hate me, if people loathe me - Doctor - I still win. You see, hatred breeds war, and war gets people off their fat, lazy behinds. For all the terrors and horrors WWII had, you have to admit, we owe the foundation for most of the advancements we made in the modern era to that time period. Would we have gone to the moon if we didn't have to beat the Russians there? I honestly don't think we would have. You see Doctor, for all of my "delusions" there is one thing I know: I'm not a good person. I'm not a hero, I'm not a martyr. What I'm doing is wholly and truly evil. People won't pity me, they won't think highly of me and they'll even try to forget me. And they'll never acknowledge what I did for humanity. I am simply a means to an end. I am what it takes to get humanity to become active again, and earn its survival into the next century. When all is said and done, I'll just be a body buried beneath the foundation of tomorrow. And that's enough."

Already posted my action for this round, but next round, consider that building toppled :D

"Vell, I vould normally tell you zat you are vasting your time, but a trinket like zat could buy a lot of cat food. Somezing I seem to never have enough of at home apparently." says Atlas off hand has be organizes his stack of chips into columns. He does it weird though, they're not sorted by amount. In fact, they don't really seem to be sorted in any particular order. Or is there any evidence of method to his madness. What it does remind you of however is a castle wall. Almost like he's defending his swath of territory from the invaders. Territory which you notice is pretty wide, seeing as how he takes up more room at the table than anyone else. He's broader than anyone here, and he's got his sandwich off to his left and his booze to his right.
-
Samael looked quite surprised. "Vell, dat is somezing. I hope zis zing can go much higher, or else ve von't know how much I can lift ven transformed. I did not zink I had gotten zat strong because ven I compare to vat I do as Atlas, zis... zis is nozing." Samael actually looked a little scared at this point. He had signed on for this to help learn the depths of his abilities, but this was like staring into the abyss. "Is zere any more of zese base-line tests to do or are you about done? I should be able to transform again in a moment."
-
"Don't have to. It just vent avay. Not poof, just fade." Atlas didn't really want to say too much. It appeared as if the lose of his device hit Doctor Archeville quite hard. He had seen a few pictures of Doctor Archeville in the past and pretty much without exception, that little metal stick had been with him the entire time. It was probably Doc's favorite. He had to more of less let him grieve in his own way. Besides, he was quite curious as to what happened to the little buggers.
-
"Da, ok." say Samael as he moves to the exercise platform, unconsciously rubbing his head a little bit as he walks, almost as if he could touch what was wrong with it. Taking his place on the platform he does a half crouch or two and swings his arms a little to get a little loosened up. "So vat does zis zing do. Change gravity or somezing?" Samael joked, but about halfway through his chuckle, he realized that this little device just might.
-
Here's your sign
-
Atlas let out a scream of surprise as the device exploded in front of him, and reflexively shielded his face with his free arm. "Doctor! Vat happened!? Are you alright?" called Atlas to Doctor Archeville who was floating way above his head. "Bet ya zought zat vas pretty funny." asked Atlas to the little imp in his hand.
-
I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other. With Atlas' skill set, he's not very good at bluffing people, nor is his Sense Motive stellar. He does however have a few ranks in Knowledge: Streetwise so he may know a few of those shadier methods for playing, but he's too nice to use them of course
-
"Da I got enough." says Atlas as he thumbs out $100 in 20's, 10's and 5's for River Rat. Most of it being in the 10's and 5's. "...95, hundred. Pleasure doing business. Da don't you vorry. Ve ain't playing vith very high stakes. Most of us are cheap as dirt. I just dig good last veek. Construction is very good business in Freedom. Feeding ze workers is even better." adds Atlas with a sly grin as he continues to chow down.

What if Tempest used Shape Matter to drag a bunch of cars and such over to the building and Spitfire could weld them to the building, making an impromptu reinforced barricade?
-
The remaining goons were quickly dispatched by Wesley's attack. One of them was still conscious, but threw his hands up in surrender "Dude! I give! I give!" At the same time, Atlas leapt forth and clubbed the weakened Shatter Point with a double axe-handle smash. Shatter Point's force field finally failed, and Shatter Point went flying into the dozer where he collapsed on the ground, out like a light. For a moment there was silence in the bank before those gathered began clapping and cheering for the heroes.
-
It's granting him total cover relative to you. Unless you make a big hole in the tankdozer, or have Indirect 3, you're not going to be hitting him. However, he's severely freaked out, he's not going to be doing anything other than wetting himself for a round or two. Shatter Point is still stunned. Atlas' turn. He'll All Out Attack/ Power Attack 5 on Shatter Point. Attack roll vs SP (stunned), AoA/PA 5 DC 35 toughness (1d20+5=17) That's a hit. SP toughness save DC 35 (1d20+11=21) Fail by 14, that'll make him staggered again, so he's out like a light. So I'm going to call combat over at this point. Any objection?
-
Okay. Goon toughness save, DC 29 (1d20+8=28, 1d20+9=11) Stunned one takes another bruise, the staggered one is out like a light. You can't hit the one inside the truck, no line of effect. I'll get the rest up soon, but I have a meeting to get ready for.
-
If we effectively "level up" this round, Atlas is PL 11 now, so his Shockwave is rank 11, and 110 ft now. Just saying.

In an effort to get more of the panicked humans inside, Tempest widened the doors before molding himself through the wall to look at the lobby area, hanging suspended in midair. Spotting the gathered humans Tempest moved to talk strategy with them before it became too late. "Defender humans, I am here to help defend this bastion. What is the standard human procedure for dealing with this sort of threat? Do any of you possess abilities that would modify that plan?"
