  1. "I would not refer to you as something other than that monicure Colt human. To do so would be disrespectful Colt human." You weren't sure if Tempest was just being a wise ass or he legitimately didn't get it. Tempest kept right with Colt as the pair headed to the latter's hotel. It was hard to explain, but something about the way Tempest flew just seemed natural to Colt. You could just imagine Tempest just assimilating himself into a cloud and coasting throughout the heavens. But Colt reminded himself, he was looking at a being that just might be able to do that. "Very well Colt human. I shall depart for the time being. I hope that we meet again Colt human, this day has been most informative."
  2. "I once had to clean sewer every day for 5 month. Thirteen hour day, no break. I think I will miss those times by morning." Samael gathered up his courage and stood out over the lip of the manhole over. "Make sure you put the cover back." said Samael to Dead Head as he descended into the darkness, hopefully not for the last time.
  3. Heh. I wonder how you say "Zoinks!" in Russian...
  4. As the Police humans arrived on scenes, Tempest undid his handiwork with the limo and street, leaving everything as if Tempest had never touched it. Tempest didn't say much as the police humans took the criminal humans into custody, he merely observed. "I would indeed appreciate that Colt human." said Tempest as he followed after Colt human. The same fog you saw fall of Tempest before reappears and Tempest slowly float up into the air. "I will follow you to this hotel Colt human so that there will be an increased likely hood in meeting one another at a future date. I need to merely know the way."
  5. Dark Star you done got yerself a chance ter roll one o them there Sense Motives checks, all fancy like.
  6. More than a few of the workers leap out of their skin, one or two of them dropping whatever they were carrying at the time. After all the noise quieted down, it got real quiet as it appeared no one knew exactly what to say or how to say it. More than a few sets of eyes flicked over to one guy who was probably running the place. The name tag on his jacket said "Earl". Earl had been one of the people to drop what he was carrying, in his case a tool box. After calming down, Earl scooped up the tool box and addressed Dark Star. "Ya done gave us quite a start there feller. We done got ourselves one a them there "time sensitive contracts" but I done overbooked myself. So we done got to pull ourselves one a those all night jobbers to git er done. Shain't nothing illegal bout that I reckon."
  7. Samael took the picture back and put it back in his wallet. "You heard right. They didn't take to kindly to me refusing their offers. They got down right pissed when I started beating up the thugs and cleaning off my street." Samael swilled his drink and took another sip. "So one day, they decided to teach me a lesson. They beat to an inch of my life, and then shot me. ... And then I got back up. That was when I was Atlas for first time. Scared me half to death - did a more to them though." Samael added darkly.
  8. Thanks for the edits Doc. The Immunity to crits is essentially the fact that Atlas is unnaturally muscled. No matter where you hit him, joints, throat, face, whatever, there's some muscle there that'll deaden the impact. Math on the form: 5pp - Alt Form (sustained); (+ 1) Continuous Duration; (- 1) Fades Flaw; (+ 1) Total Fade; (- 1) Fast Fade = 5pp/rank I forgot the take the -1 from the Fades Flaw out of the Fast Fade Flaw. Originally, Atlas was built on the Battle Form from Mecha and Manga, and then in the Ref Cave, we couldn't quite get it to the 4pp/rank it came out to. So we have this monstrosity before us. Essentially, once Atlas enters the form, he can't be knocked out of it, but it has a very limited duration. Fast Fade was made up, and basically you lose 1 rank of the power's effectiveness per round rather than 1 point. From the Ref Cave: Sandwiches for Doc!
  9. Good to go.
  10. Samael chuckled a bit as Doc failed to open up the cabinet. "Caught you with your pants down Doctor. Thanks." he added when Doc had placed the glasses on the counter. While Doc dug in the fridge, Samael poured in a generous portion of Jack into one of the glasses. He was in the process of draining the entire contents when he noticed how deep inside the fridge Doc was going, and proceeded to stop and cock an eyebrow. He then looked intently at the contents of his glass, as he swirled his drink around. After a moment's contemplation he shrugged and downed the rest of the drink. Samael then began pouring his second drink, vodka this time, in a smaller portion as he answered. "From Russia originally. You knew that. Wasn't all that bright, but I worked hard and got through. After the collapse, I leave Russia. Travel a bit and wind up in Freedom. I got myself a deli shop down in Fens, and I live above it. Me and my special somebody." Samael pulls a picture out of his wallet, and slides it along the counter to Doc. It's a picture of a Siamese cat curled up on a pillow of a bed. If Doc squints, he can make out the word "Sprinkles" on its heart shaped collar.
  11. Atlas just looked around at the group, and just shrugged his shoulders. "What stumpy said. Get me in room with them and I do the rest. I can ask around, but if you have better way..." Atlas trailed off and jammed his hands back into his coat pockets. This is too much. Witches, magic, undead, necromancers, zombies? What the heck did I get myself into here? Gonna need a stiff drink when this is all over...
  12. It was Tempest's solemn duty and sole purpose to commune with the Creators everyday and inform them of anything that he had learned about the humans. The last several days had been most illuminating. Tempest had learned much of "American culture" which in turn gave him a greater understanding of the American humans. For instance Tempest now knew had one could "drop it like it was hot" without the use of flame or a heat source. As Tempest's senses returned to the material plane of existence, he again felt the presence of life all around him. Rather than fly out of here, Tempest decided to walk through the forest and be surrounded by life for a longer period of time. He felt the earth beneath his feet and let the sensation travel throughout his body. Nearly 20 minutes into his walk, Tempest heard the sounds of life off in the distance, and out of curiosity began to approach. He crept between the trees, trying to be as stealthy as possible, a task at which he failed miserably, in an attempt to observe this new behavior while he snacked on an apple he had plucked from the trees.
  13. This was most curious. Colt human had felt different than the other humans. It was like Colt human was written in a different language than the other humans. The Colt human's explanation made the reason for the abnormality seem much clearer. In addition, now that Colt human had helped Tempest understand what language he was composed of, Tempest could now glean similar pieces of information from other items. It was as if everything had suddenly gained another dimension and more depth. It was then that Tempest had a large epiphany. Not only did he have more to learn about the humans, he had more to learn about himself. The possibilities astounded Tempest, and for the first time, rendered him speechless.
  14. "Are you bullet proof kid? I go down there, but any one will shoot at me. Look at me." Atlas looks over the group for a moment, like he's sizing all of them up. "Let Dark Star go down and talk. Everyone knows he is hero. Last I check he is bullet proof too."
  15. GM ONLY POST Wesley's attack is devastating. Most of the goons who had been robbing the place blind are immediately incapacitated, with only a few still groggily moving about. Shatter Point's force field protects him from the worst of it, but the cracks running along the shield become more pronounced. Shatter Point rounds to see who had dared to assault him, but before he can get the words out, his jaw goes slack and he is momentarily silent. In a word, it was satisfying.
  16. Goon Toughness save vs Wesley targeted burst, DC 29. First goon takes a -2, second takes a -1. (1d20+9=14, 1d20+9=24, 1d20+9=26, 1d20+9=12, 1d20+9=28, 1d20+9=20, 1d20+9=19, 1d20+9=14) Goons 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8 are knocked out flat. Goon 2 is stunned and staggered. Goon 3 is bruised and stunned. Goon 5 is bruised. SP toughness save vs Wesley, DC 29 (1d20+12=28) That'll be bruise #3. Boomer is up.
  17. Huzzah! Hope to see you back in the swing of things soon. However, in regards to myself. I now have an unexpected engagement over the weekend, so FC just got knocked a few notches lower on the old priority list for this weekend. So I'll be spotty this weekend.
  18. Samael smirked at Phantom's aside. "I am pretty good at that." Samael took the initiative after Dead Head. You would know me as Atlas. I am not sneaky, I am not quick. But I am strong and tough normally, beyond human. As Atlas... I exceed what I thought was possible. Where that puts me, I don't know. But I can't stay Atlas for too long. Ten, 15 minutes."
  19. *Cough* Partialy done by Doc; see later posts.
  20. Sign me up, twice! I would love to get both Atlas and Tempest in on this.
  21. Well as Avalon hasn't posted in a month I don't think he'll be joining us. How about you WM, still up for it?
  22. "What was it that this human did in order to become a criminal human and why did you specifically target this criminal human for apprehension? In addition, would not carrying the tools for apprehension be something a human in your position be paramount to your continued existence? One would be lead to the conclusion that Colt human is likely lacking experience in this particular type of work. One must ask why Colt human would engage in a practice Colt human was unfamiliar with, especially if it was dangerous to Colt human's well being."
  23. "Kill them!? Doctor why on earth would I kill them? If I did that I would just be a simple murderer. That would put on the same level as the rest of the wackos locked up in here. No, I want something more, but it took me a long time to see it. Really this is a lot like a long running social experiment. When I first made the suit, truthfully I wanted nothing other than personal revenge. It was an emotional response; no more, no less. On my first night out, I bested Emissary. But after that victory, I felt... hollow. While emotions can give you the drive, they can't give you a lasting purpose, at least not one you can justify. After that I questioned myself as to what I was really doing and why I should continue. Really, it was a mesh of soul searching and generating a new hypothesis. You see Doctor, at that point I didn't take anything for granted anymore. I questioned everything, no matter how long standing the belief. From what is right and wrong and all the way to asking myself if I really loved my father. For good or ill, I found my answers, and that is when I started to hit upon a particular idea. You see Doctor, people really and truly believe in heroes. They're infallible, all powerful and always there when you need them. But, where does that leave everyone else? Are we insignificant, are we not worthy of mention? The fact that when people would write the history books about our time here and now, it would all be about the adventures of random people prancing about in spandex with massive egos swelling their heads. Personally, that sicked me. Humanity is not a foot note in history Doctor. And so I tried to show people what was truly wrong with this little world of ours, and suffice to say, I failed horribly. But I noticed something; it wasn't that people weren't listening to my message, they didn't even hear me at all. So I gave them a reason to pay attention."
  24. "The restraints would disperse when I can no longer maintain a proper field of observation relative to the restraints, but this criminal humans is cooperative, are you not criminal human?" Tempest directs the last line at the criminal human infront of the Colt human. "I do not think that leaving these other criminal humans here would be a wise course of action. Either they should be taken to the property authority humans and tried for their various crime or if there is no evidence of wrong doing, they should be freed. The structure containing them is only indefinate while I am present and it is also causing a degree of unrest among the other humans." Tempest gestures to the rather large crowd that has gathered and all the cars that slow down considerably when passing them by.
  25. Then we better make this quick. We don't want small problem to become big problem." said Atlas simply. Atlas crept a little closer to the roof's edge and crouched down to get a slightly better look. "You think they are putting weapons in car?"
