Melee attack roll vs Shatter Point DEF 20, AoA 5, DC 30 toughness (1d20+10=18) Swing and a miss. Also, I need you to make a Notice check. Notice Check (1d20+8=9)

In retaliation for being ignored, Atlas tries for a mean right hook, but in his haste he is quite sloppy and Shatter Point is able to duck under the blow. "Your fight is with me, leave him out of this!" roared Atlas, oblivious to the other goings on in the bank.

SP reflex save vs Visual Dazzle DC 20 (1d20+8=24) Saves. Why can't I ever roll this good as a player? GM Only post Through a bit of blind luck, Shatter Point is able to avert his eyes before the blinding flash goes off. "GAH! Dammit man! Alright, welcome to the front of the line!" A deafening thunderclap is heard as the air visibly splits as it hurtles towards Boomer from Shatter Point's outstretched hand. The sensation that Boomer feels could be likened to being hung over with a migraine while at a rave.

The ripples of force travel through Atlas's body and for a moment, it looks like this is the end for him, but then Atlas' pupils dilate and his muscles clench. While the ripple is still traveling through his body, Altas comes down with a double axe-handle smash, making impact with Shatter Point's shield just as the shockwave reaches his hand, and repays Shatter Point with a massive shot of his own energy. The shield cracks under the strain, but still manages to hold. "What did you do to her!" bellows Atlas for a second time.

Alrighty, I'm going to see if I can wrap this up, or at least start to. Toughness save vs Boomer Blast DC 25 (1d20+14=27) Shatter Point saves. Melee attack roll vs Atlas DEF 10, DC 34 toughness save, PA 5 (1d20+5=21) That's a hit. Atlas will pop a HP to use Ultimate Toughness, getting a 33, so he takes another bruised. I'll post Atlas' turn in a moment.
-
GM ONLY POST The two remaining goons piece together that this sort of fight is quite a bit above their level and quickly slink away. Boomer's attack catches an angle on Shatter Point's force field and deflects off, leaving the latter unharmed. "Be with you in a sec there glow stick; gotta teach this guy some manners first!" That same shaking energy he used before concentrates around Shatter Point's fist, which he drives into the stomach of Atlas. Atlas's body looks like a pond after a stone is dropped into it, as a massive ripple of force spreads throughout his body.
-
Clear! *bzzzt* Is there still interest in this or do we want to call it?
-
Alrighty. The bank is about 7.5% of Atlas's light load, and he's got 13 minutes before his Alternate Form craps out, plenty of time for other heroes like Dr. Metropolis to show up on scene and sure up the bank, and yet show up late enough so they don't butt in on the action of the thread; or at the very least let everyone get out of the bank. A happy ending for all.

Over the sound of the panicked people, the sounds of battle and the cracks forming throughout the building, no one noticed the sound of the approaching rumble. Moments earlier, Samael had heard the sound of gun fire and the bank alarms. After ducking into an alleyway, he transformed into the hulking form of Atlas. As he approached the building he was fully intending to stop the robbers, but when he saw the crack forming in the building, he knew he had more pressing matters to attend to. When he reached the back, he took the spot of the last pillar to fall, put his hands up to the ceiling and hoped he had enough strength for this. It was only when the sound of the imminent collapse suddenly stopped that people took notice of the red giant's appearance. He looked down at the heroes in the area. "Get after them! I've got it!"

Hrmm... looks like build tweaking in in order. I was thinking that Concentration kind of came with the territory with his power, but that would make more sense as Enhanced Concentration. For the mind sheild thing, I'll consider it. But I had kind of invisioned him as having a really dull and boring life, and then all of a sudden, Wham! tons of powers, so he's still in the "WWWEEEEEEE" stage of getting powers, and will gradually mellow out. Yeah, I was debating whether or not to give him more skills, and he is quite spare. I'll throw some more stuff in there, I just have to mess around for a bit. For jerk level I mean like Guy Gardner level. However, as he gets over the initaial euphoria of getting powers, making a fool of himself, or the other heroes rightfully putting him in his place, he'll be a lot less of a jerk, real fast. EDIT: Moved some points around. EDIT 2: I've decided to completely revamp the character into more of a nature spirit type deal, which of course means a complete and utter overhaul of the character. We'll continue to cover this story as it develops. :D

I believe that'll be that. Give him a look see at your leisure.

Wow, looks like a veritable storm is brewing. I guess Tempest should get on that.
-
That is horrifying. Not sure if its so bad its good, or if it's just bad. Also: Superman Batman: Public Enemies

 His Variable Descriptor 2 allows him to use the classical elements (fire, ice, water, lightning, earth, wind) as descriptors, any 2 at a time if he so chooses. Also, if I'm playing this guy as a jerk face for like more than 2 months, I blame the other heroes. I'll buy off 1 point of the DB each time he gets a "what it means to be a hero" speech.

Players Name: Geez3r Power Level: 14 (201/210) Trade-Offs: -2 Attack for +2 Damage, -2 Defense for +2 Toughness Unspent PP: 9pp Characters Name: Hank Wright Alternate Identity: Tempest Height: 5'11" Weight: 140lbs Hair: N/A Eyes: Glowy Description: Tempest is pretty much a walking flux of natural energy comprised into a humanoid form. His eyes glow the brightest out of any portion of him, but shift form just like every other part of him. However, unlike other energy beings, he's not insubstantial. There's enough ice, wood and earth in him at any given point to make him solid enough. Most of the time, he's quite featureless but when he wishes to talk or otherwise convey something through body language, the flux of energy that comprises him shifts enough so he can convey the expression. When he speaks, it is usually in a monotone voice, and is usually soft, but has been known to carry the fury of a storm from time to time. History: The prevailing theory is that the Earth holds a great number of living things but it is not alive itself. That theory is only partially right. One of the guiding principles of life is that it is self propagating, life creates more life. For all the life that Earth gave away, all of it eventually returns to the Earth, before being sent out again in what we refer to the circle of life. But this circle doesn't exist in a vacuum. Each time it completes a revolution, a ripple is felt throughout the universe in ways that are incomprehensible to the human condition. The point is, that after countless of millenia, the earth began to live. It was not just the grass that was alive anymore, it was the rocks and soil beneath its roots. Small little areas of collected thought began to form, shaped by the very essence that had granted them life. And these communities reached out and joined in with the others around. They formed counties, then states, then regions, then nations, then continents, and then the whole world was joined into one cohesive unit, and it was called Terra. Terra was joined by its family, Hydros, Celesctia, and Fuera. But when they were united, they realized something. They did not know a purpose. What reason did they have for being? Ages pasted as they deliberated. It was not until recently until a solution was found for them. By accident, the consciousness known as Freedom City created the entity known as Dr. Metropolis. It was then that the purpose of life was made clear to them; the purpose of life is to create more life. But what sort of life should they create? The 4 decided that they should endeavor to create a sort of life like the kind that created them. They endeavored to be human. But they did not know what that truly meant. So they created an avatar to live among the humans and become like them, so that they would know what being human was. And thus, Tempest was born. Personality & Motivation: Tempest has little understanding of how humans interact, but understands a great deal about the world itself, especially the natural side of things. He had heard tale of the heroes of the world. People wish to be like them and emulate them, so Tempest decided he should meet and interact them, like they were the best humanity had to offer. Despite the apparent chaos that embodies him, Tempest is very calm and collected. But above all, he is curious. He seeks to understand and learn. There is nothing too trivial nor too important for him to question. Powers & Tactics: Tempest manipulates pretty much every last one of the classical elements and can even two or more of them at once. As such, he has been known to shrug off elemental attacks of great power without much difficulty. He can reshape pretty much any matter at a whim, with a great deal of skill. He can create very intense localized storms. He can also throw the elements around in a variety of blasts and even wreath his entire body in a constant flux of power. He aims to end battles quickly when they can not be avoided entirely. With his "Elemental Attunement" he is able to highly concentrate a form of energy in his body and adapt to its own characteristics. In air form for instance, he can fly; in earth form on the other hand, he's very stable and rooted to the ground. For reasons yet unknown he has yet to exhibit a fire form. Complications: Naive - Somethings about humanity Tempest just doesn't understand, which can be quite dangerous. Curiosity killed the cat - Learning about something new is an excuse to ignore any danger. A quick audit done in chat. Stamped.

Looks good to me partner. Approved.

I'm going to make Malice a Tier 1 NPC.

Although unafraid of Mervyl initially, the blast that his the Leader square in the chest gives him reason to do so. The creature is knocked off his feet, and does a forced half flip before his head makes contact with the ground again. The beast shakes his head, obviously rattled by the attack.
-
The Leader's Intimidate is high enough that I don't have to roll to oppose the Startle attempt. He has Fearless so he's immune to your demoralize attempt. Toughness save vs Mervyl Blast DC 30 (1d20+12=19) That would put him at staggered, so I'm going to GM Fiat that, take another VP. Toughness save vs Mervyl Blast DC 30, GM Fiat re-roll (1d20+12=15) That gets bumped up to 25, which means he's stunned. Blackbird's up. FYI, I didn't skip your turn, I just did a reaction post thing.
-
Mervyl's blast rips through the grove. When the dust settles, the two wolves that were helping their master lay motionless on the ground, but their master is still alive and well, apparently unscathed by the blast. Blackbird's honeyed words bore quickly into the feeble minds of the wolves. The first immediately charges its master and bites him, but is shaken off without the master being noticably hurt. The second seems to scared to make a move one way or another. The Leader however, fully shakes off the force holding him down after struggling for a moment, but now he's loose and very upset.
-
As discussed in chat, A) you don't need attack rolls with general area attack and you cannot power attack with them. Pack leader has Impervious 12, so he's safe from the blast. Reflex save for wolves DC 20 (1d20+5=7, 1d20+5=10) Both fail. The wolves are minions and a DC 25 toughness save is Impossible for them, meaning they're out completely. Toughness save for the Snare DC 25 (1d20+4=20, 1d20+4=19) Accidentally had the 2 rolls from last one up, but in either instance the snare just takes 1 more injured. Opposed check vs Blackbird's Bluff DC 19; wolves gain +10 to resist (1d20+11=13, 1d20+11=26) The first wolf buys into your lie completely, the other one still believes you, but really doesn't want to mess with its master. If the second wolf had managed to damage it's master's bonds last round, then the Leader could escape as a standard action without needing to roll, but he has to roll now. Snare toughness save DC 27 (1d20+3=22) ... This is one hell of a snare. Screw it, you each gain a VP as I use Extra Effort for the Leader to Surge and he can now break the snare automatically as a standard action, due to his damage bonus being 10 higher than the snare's toughness save. Mervyl - Unharmed - 5 VP Blackbird - Unharmed - 3 VP Leader - Bound and Helpless, Unharmed Wolves (2) - Unharmed, one friendly to you. I'll have IC up in a moment.
