Tropes Continued. This time, weapons, combat and powers. MOAR DAKKA. Anyone who's spent time in chat knows this for a fact. Improbably Aiming Skills Ironically, Malice is actually a pretty decent shot, and can make literally impossible shots easy with Indirect x3. Spam Attack Just gonna underline this one a few times. Macross Missile Massacre And here you thought the Liberation Cannon was original. tsk tsk There is No Kill Like Overkill All out Power Attack 5, every time. Death in All Directions Yep... Twice. A Team Firing Power Attacking for full will do that, especially when IC hates you. BFG Where his right arm used to be. Beam Spam It's next on the list. No One Could Survive That Apparently, he can. Godzilla Threshold Break out of prison in case of emergency. Bloodless Carnage Has never done lethal damage. Gatling Good Just read the quote. I can't explain it better than that. Nuke Em Pretty much any power stunt Malice has. Wave Motion Gun Distintegration 13, See Also: KamehameHadoken Stuff Blowing Up It's his shtick. Bottomless Magazines I don't even want to think about how many bullets he fires. Bang Bang BANG Again, it's what he's for. Earth Shattering Kaboom Look, I said I was sorry.

Also, I should probably tweak his Complications as I have yet to do so since the character was created over a year ago. Public ID - The world at large knows that Eric Micheals and Malice are one and the same. Short Leash - Without the support from Shadow Academy, Malice would soon find himself in a whole heap of trouble, as such he pretty much has to do what the higher ups tell him to do. inFamous - Malice's misdeeds have been well documented in several forms of media. Mad man - The world at large believes Malice to be dangerously unbalanced, those who have had a conversation with him, know he is. A Man of the People - Although delusional, Malice believes himself to be a hero. This means not drawing civilians into the line of fire, taking hostages and minimizing collateral damage... most of the time. Team Breaker - Malice indirectly drove a wedge between some of the heroes, who may feel it appropriate to beat the snot out of him at the earliest opportunity.

Eric nodded. He had picked up on the subtext of what Doctor Archeville was saying. "Too true. You've been an invaluable asset to the company. Your insights saved us quite a lot of time in our designs. And furthermore, your knowledge in a wide swath of fields has inspired more than a few of our staff to expand their own knowledge into different schools of science. So I need to ask you one more thing..." Eric slides his chair up a little further. "What is it that you really plan on doing with your new company?" If Doctor Archeville forgot that he was sitting across the table from a mad man, he was just reminded.

Hrmm, Atlas's intimidate modifier is not as high as I thought it was. I need to rectify that when I get some moar points. Also it had to be done.
-
Atlas's guard dropped just enough for Knievel to get his shot in. Knievel's kick drills Atlas square in the face, but Atlas doesn't even have a bloody nose. Atlas just levels his gaze at Knievel. "Some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe. *sniff* Maybe. I've yet to meet one that can outsmart MEATY ILL-TEMPERED FIST!!!"

Alright, first thing that strikes me is the Powers and Tactics section. That section is a description of what your character does in combat (or how they avoid it). Ie: Open up with Attack X, Use interaction skill Y often, move about alot, etc. Put the powers bit with the rest of the sheet, so it flows easier. Guess I'll start with powers because they're at the top. Make sure you properly format the powers with appropriate bolds and italics, check out either of my sheets to see what I mean. Also, for your Array, put the title at the top, and then all the information underneath it, for easy reading. In addition, you don't need to say "AND". If they're in the same slot, they're all active at once. For the Reflex strategy: Everything adds up for the power except for the Improved Initiative. Improved initiative in an array just gets messy because you'll be bumping up and down the initiative order, which is a serious pain in the butt. Hunter Strategy: Knockback is not an applicable extra for Damage. Getting the PF: Knockback 6 is probably what you want if you want to really throw people with the power. Strike and Guardian Strategy add up. Alright, I got a question though. What exactly are his powers? There was mention of a dog and Pneumatic energy, which I don't actually know the meaning of. Stats: "6+10+8+4+4+4" should be "6+10+8+4+2+4" but it properly comes out to 32. Combat: "6+6" should be "6+4" Grapple is +6 (+3 attack, +3 strength). You have +1 Defense while Flat Footed. Saves: I'm getting 3 spent points. For Toughness, replace "other" with "protection". Fort is good. For Reflex, denote what his save is with and without his powers. Will is good. Skills: I'm getting 22 ranks or 5.5 points spent. Alphabatize the list. On Acrobatics, you can just denote that it's +22 in Reflex form because both the Skills and Dex are in that form. Also, give it the proper formating. Ie: Sense Motive 4 (+6) Feats: I'm getting 13 feats. I'm assuming that your Enhanced feats are also listed here, if that is the case, then there is 1 left unaccounted for. Furthermore, if you want to list you feats here, put them in their own little quote box so the refs can differentiate between them. Alright, now I have another question. How is someone who is so potentially agile, traded off for Toughness? I have a hard time with one of the most acrobatic people on the forums being one of the easiest to hit.

Remember that reminder I gave you about putting notes in your rolls? Yeah, get on that.

We each gain a HP for effectively having half of our "party" taken out, and for Shatter Point meant to be a challenge for 4 people to take on. Gossamer - Unharmed - HP x2 - Paralyzed & helpless Wesley - Fatigued, Deafened, Bruised x1 - HP x3 - Totally blasted through a wall Boomer - Unharmed - HP x3 Goons (8) - 2 Bruised, 6 (incased in ice) Shatter Point - Bruised x1 Atlas - Bruised x2 - HP x2
-
"What did you do to her!?" bellows Atlas as he clears the distance between him and Shatter Point in a single leap and clocks him with a monsterous haymaker. Shatter Point reflexively put his arms up over his head in a block, but his force field caught the attack before that. The force of the impact was tremendous and the ground beneath Shatter Point cracked under the strain, but amazingly he weathered the hit. "That all you got big man?"
-
GM ONLY POST Realizing their attacks are futile against the light creature, both of the goons round to face Atlas. They level their blasters and open fire. One shot goes whizzing right past Atlas's ear and the other strikes him in the meat of the shoulder. Atlas growls in pain but grits his teeth and powers through it. Shatter Point for his part swaggers towards the middle of the lobby, ducking under Gossamer's tendrils of hair and blasts the vault door, which pretty much crumbles to dust and the 2 goons in the truck get to work loading up the loot.

Standard Action: Shockwave on Mervyl DC 25 Toughness save, DC 20 Reflex save for half damage Move Action: leap towards Knievel Extra Effort to Surge: Standard Action: Shockwave on Knievel, saves as above Burn an HP to ignore fatigue.

Atlas was getting worried, there was no way Doc was going to be alright after all this, he needed to end this fight now, but just slugging at them wasn't going to get him anywhere. "Arrogant little punk!" roars Atlas, now clearly pissed off. In a single thunderous motion, Altas claps his hands together and a wave of force washes over Mervyl. Without missing a beat, the asphalt beneath Atlas cracks as he leaps at Knievel in the same spread eagle form he used before, and just like last time, a thunderous clap punctuates Atlas landing.

This was where Eric Micheals shined. It was if a switched was suddenly flipped in his head. To him this was just another business meeting. His presence seemed to lessen itself, it was as if a giant were smiling at you. He had a way of articulating his statements ever so nicely and made his points logically and simply, without dumbing it down. "While the media certainly has had a swell time of describing me as a psychotic monster bent on destabilizing society at it's very core, I am a rational man. I am quite capable of making deals, bargains and even carrying on a civil conversation, but that image still remains. It is for that reason, that I will unable to assist you as a front teacher. It would simply draw far too much unwanted attention, at least for the foreseeable future. But, as you saw fit to aid in my release from Blackstone, if for no other reason than the sake of politeness, I would be remiss if I did not instruct your pupils to the best of my ability. If however, I was given the opprotunity to further my study of the sciences in your facilities, and use the Academy for lodging before I can erect a more suitable domicile for myself that is suitably off the grid, well then, my loyalty would be unwavering. I may not have the greatest of feelings towards your usual selection of students, but I have learned to quiet my personal feelings when it comes to matters of business. I am not so prideful as to turn down an offer simply because of who offers it, but rather to judge the offer on its own merits. All that is left is your opinion on whether or not my terms are agreeable. I await your decision."
-
Atlas grinned as Captain Knievel was rocked by his attack. That grin quickly turned to horror however when Doctor Archeville was assaulted by this strange person. Immediately, Atlas switched targets and leapt across the street which had become a battlefield straight at Mervyl. Atlas leapt clear through the smoke left by the attack, landing right in front of Mervyl and swiped at him with a vicious haymaker, which Mervyl wisely evaded. "That's the last mistake you make!" said the now strangely articulate beast.

Eric nodded in turn to the two new arrivals, who apparently knew one another. He would have done a more robust greeting Mr. Terhune's apparent apprehension caught him off guard. Looking around the room he noted the other prominent figures in the room. Is he scared of the big names here? Shouldn't he be a big shot too if he got invited? What a strange fellow... Truth be told he was curious about the both of them. He recognized neither of them, so they weren't associated with the technolgical field, so what was their area of expertise be? Perhaps they were metahumans themselves? Regardless, Eric did not want to press his advantage until he knew more about them, which meant getting this meeting underway.
-
Huh, so far the only to be dooped is the one with former board room expertise. I need to buy up Malice's interaction skills apparently, well besides Intimidate. Counter bluff to Oppose Bel's Bluff - DC 27 (1d20+10=15)

Eric's eyes widened in recognition as Ronin stepped through the teleporter. Eric nodded in response to Ronin's greeting. "Yes, quite a poor fellow. He had only just written the check for that fiasco when half of Riverside was wiped off the map." Eric was not entirely surprised to see Ronin here. He was a damn good fighter and would take on nearly any job for the right sum. What he was surprised to see was that Ronin was armed. He had expected Ronin to walk in armed to the teeth, but Eric expected him to be a little subtle about it. Then Eric reminded himself that he probably had a great number of concealed weaponry on him as well.

Alright, Heritage isn't going to be coming back any time soon, so for the time being, I'll be NPC-ing her. Gossamer Fortitude save DC 24 (1d20+6=18) Gossamer is fully paralyzed and helpless. Gossamer - Unharmed - HP x2 - Paralyzed & helpless Wesley - Fatigued, Deafened, Bruised x1 - HP x3 - Totally blasted through a wall Boomer - Unharmed - HP x2 Goons (8) - 2 Bruised, 6 (incased in ice) Shatter Point - Unharmed Atlas - Unharmed - HP x2 I'll edit my previous GM post for Gossamer being paralyzed and then posts your action IC.

"He'll come around." said simply as Dark Star phased through the wall. He stood up from the table with a small groan and stretched a little bit. It was weird, every room other than his cell always felt much roomier than it really was. But soon enough the guards came in to collect Eric. As usual, Eric put up no resistance, and was lead calmly back to his cell. Once he was unshackled and the door closed, Eric took his usual spot by the desk. He started to work on a new design for the gun-arm, tracing out out the new power converter. But then something caught his eye; one of his earliest designs for a robotic arm. He pulled the paper out from the stack and set it down right next to the design he had been working on. He set his pencil down and looked between the two designs. Six hours passed before he picked up the pencil to continue work.

And this is why we don't make our character edits at 1am  Alright, get rid of that immunity and buy 1 more rank in Enhanced Will save.
-
Okay, first part of the overhaul for Malice. Firstly, due to his incarceration, remove all 3 benefit feats. This gives Malice 16 unspent power points Then, buy 1 rank in Benefit (Shadow Academy Teacher). I don't expect anyone else to buy this, but seeing as how Malice will pretty much be living there, worth the purchase. 15 unspent. I'll buy 8 ranks in Intimidate just because everyone is going to assume Malice is scary from this point on. 13 unspent. I'll spend 4 points to buy 2 more ranks in Attack. 9 unspent power points. I'll spend 4 points to buy another rank in Device. 5 unspent power points. Buy 1 rank of Luck. 4 unspent power points. Lastly, increase Malice's intelligence to 24. 2 unspent power points.

"I'd be delighted to Headmistress." said Eric shaking her hand. He was expecting someone older, but he certainly wasn't complaining. "However, I first have to greet an old friend." Eric clapped his old friend's hand, giving it a firm shake. Eric looked a little different from the pictures that had been circulating over the media after his capture. Since that time nearly 6 months ago, Eric had grown a beard, which was now short and well groomed. His eyes were a little more gray than they were previously, and his hair was slightly more dull. "We have a lot of catching up to do. But business first, then pleasure." Eric gestured towards the table where Eric took his spot opposite that of Knievel.
-
Eric let out a long and sad sigh. "Very well. I do invite you back to continue this discussion at a later date. All appearances to the otherwise, I really did enjoy our chat here today, and it did indeed give me quite a bit to ponder. However, I sincerely hope that I am not the only one doing any pondering before our next meeting. I do hope my arguments were at sound, even if you personally find their implications horrible. You now have a measure of what a "villain" is, do tell me how the other heroes measure up won't you?"

Eric Micheals stepped through the teleporter, into the meeting room. He was dressed in a normal business suit, with the right sleeve pinned up on his shoulder. He had no need for theatrics today. He owed his freedom to the Headmistress of the Academy, and he knew his place. He wasn't going to waltz in here all high and mighty, if there was anything he had learned in the past few months, it was humility. While he didn't have much love for the Academy's usual breed of students, he understood the transaction that was taking place. In exchange for teaching the whelps, he would have his freedom again, as well as an opportunity to further his technological understanding and invent without significant interruption. He was making out like a bandit here and he really didn't want to screw this up. "Good evening Headmistress. Thank you for the opportunity." In truth, Eric had noticed Knievel in the room first, but felt it proper to address the Headmistress first. Eric gave a curt nod to Knievel "Good to see you again Knievel. Apparently we find ourselves on the same side again."
