  1. "Sorry Doctor. No I'm sure the creature has some intelligence. It was able to form words after all, and walks through the hallways rather than through the walls. But it has a poor memory evidenced by the fact that it doubled back to an area where it has already been. If the creature was sent to cause chaos it could have done so in a more populated, and less heavily guarded area just as well, furthermore there would be damage to the exterior of the building so as to draw more attention. I believe the aim of today's raid is to acquire a piece of technology to aid in the creature creation process. The master, whoever it is, is obviously none to skilled. They create and use a crude, ugly and unintelligent beast to steal something which the master likely barely has a grasp on himself. Rather than create his own innovations, he has to copy the work of others to be half-way competent. It's rather sad really."
  2. ATLAS MISS BY A MILE. 2 points in leaping, everything else in SS. Atlas lifting strength is now 95. Knievel's up.
  3. Atlas leaps over to where Knievel has tangled up Doctor Archeville. "Put Doc DOWN!" roars Atlas as he puts a manhole sized hole in the ground where Knievel was just standing with one giant fist. Knievel was sprayed from remnants of the street as Atlas extracted his fist. Knievel was jacked, but Atlas was jacked beyond all reason, and apparently, quite defensive of Doc.
  4. "If I knew the answer to that, I wouldn't be sitting in this jail cell." Wait, did he just say that the only reason he's still in jail is that he doesn't know what he's doing once he gets out. "You're right, I have the potential to do a great number of things. But where do I direct that energy? What specifically am I after? Look at you. As far as I know, you're some sort of living energy thing. That in and of itself just boggles my mind. And not only that, you wield gravity and radiation itself - the most powerful forces known to man. Period. If we slapped you into a battery, boom. We now have 100% clean energy for pretty much the entire civilized world, forever. And, yet here you are, talking to a one armed, self professed mad-man. What I can understand is why? What makes you tick? Why do you do what you do? What drives you to be a 'hero'?"
  5. There's playing along, and then there's playing along :D
  6. "Thank you Ms. Brown. I'm not quite sure what it wants. And I'm not even sure that simple creature does either. It keeps talking about its mission. My guess that there is something in needs down in this wing. Some component its master sent it to go fetch. There is no way a creature of that level of intelligence could be behind all this; it could barely form sentences, let along plans."
  7. Well, Knievel has a monsterous grapple check in comparison to Doc, and Improved Pin. So much so, that Knievel can take a 1 on his grapple check and reliably beat Doc. So if Doc is able to interact with any of the buttons on his belt, let alone the right ones, it should be quite hard to do, at the very least. So assuming Doc does nothing other than wait for the opportune moment to push a button on his belt, I'm thinking it would be a real high Concentration check. Let's look at the figures involved: Base DC = 11 for power use Bound, Grappling or Pinned = DC 20 So, DC 25?
  8. I don't think I can actually see through that disguise so I'm going to play along for now.
  9. Ah Christ. A clinger. There's always got to be one of them. It's like there's a quota or something. Rocket wrapped his arm around the waist of the girl. "It's alright, I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. Now calm down. What's your name? Did you see where the creature went?"
  10. Sounds good to me.
  11. Page 35 of the core. Under the benefits and drawbacks of increased size.
  12. Almost Doc. You only get a Reflex save for half damage if the size of the attack is 3+ size categories larger than the defender.
  13. "Your sympathy for your common man has never ceased to amaze me Doctor." remarked Eric in a deadpan voice, but he still did have a smile on his face, for what it's worth. "I'm sorry for the trouble it has caused you Doctor, it truly was not my intention. I had kept a comprehenisive file on all of my... "special projects" as it were, so that in the inevitable instance where I was discovered, my coworkers would be left unmolested. However, 'the event which lead me here' in all likelihood scattered that evidence to the four winds, if it hadn't been utterly destroyed in the blast to begin with. A shame you comrades don't know the meaning of the word restraint."
  14. "I don't know if I would call them revelations. It more like the world's not exactly how I imagined. It's like if you needed glasses, but didn't know it. You got along fine and did everything pretty much as normal. But then you get yourself a pair of glasses and you realize 'Oh, I can see. That's new.' And suddenly you have a whole new perspective on things. And then you notice that anyone you would read a label, you would hold the box a heck of a lot closer to your face than you really should have. People lose themselves in the hectic day to day struggle and don't even ask if they're doing what they should be doing. But now that I'm here, all of my essentials are covered for me, so I can just spend the whole day thinking. I started to ask myself if Darts was what I should really be doing. When my father died, all I wanted was revenge, to unleash my anger on the world. Darts was the easiest way to meet that goal. But I never planned things out in the long term. I was just living from one battle to the next. So before I get out of here, I gotta make some new, I don't know, life goals or something.
  15. In most other cities, people would "ooh" and "aaahhh" when there was a light show. In Freedom City, it was more often likely to be a sign of the End from one ancient cult or another. Samael had learned that from spending more than a week in the city. But now that he was a hero, it was his turn to do something about it. He rubbed Sprinkles' ears and took his leave from the apartment. When he left at the ground floor, he was a 9ft tall monster. He crouched down almost into a 3 point stance, and then the pavement around him shattered as he leapt as high as the clouds as themselves. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA----" ========= 34.62 seconds and 10 miles later ========= ----AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!" The behemoth known as Atlas crashes down to the ground like a comet. "Little, tiny, itsy, bitsy men make Atlas MAD!!!"
  16. This seems a little unfair for the nice Doctor. I wonder what would happen if a giant red monster were to happen upon this scene? "What was that Sanwhich? KILL THEM ALL!? GOOD IDEA!!!" Initiative (1d20+0=1) Well, at least now we know why he was late to the party. In order to jump 10 miles, which I figure should cover whatever distance Atlas was away from the scene, Atlas needs Leaping 10. So currently, he has Super-Strength 6 (and the corresponding Power Feats) and Leaping 10 active. His effective lifting strength for the round is 75.
  17. Welcome aboard. You'll fit in quite well with that RPG history backing you up. *Points at the 'G' rims on the refmobile* Throw your character up in the Character Bank, the Ref Team will iron it out for play, and you'll be sent on your way. I suggest you also make a quick stop at the time line thread so you can see what the recent goings on are, and give a quick glance over at the other characters to get some potential thread ideas going, and to see if there are other groups you want to join in. Most of us tend to hang out in the AJAX chat, so feel free to pop in and say hi and socialize with the group. Again, feel free to voice any comments, questions or concerns about the site, and welcome aboard.
  18. Eric broke and chuckled to himself while shaking his head. "You're quite an odd fellow." Eric slid his chair a little closer up to the table. He placed his arm up on the table and looked like he tried to interlace his fingers out of habit from the way his hand groped the air. Eric frowned a bit and hung his head for a moment and sat in silence. "Yeah... it's been a little rough." Eric took his hand off the table and placed it at the stump of his right shoulder. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I didn't really feel the pain when I lost it... so I kind of forget it's not there some times. But if I hadn't lost it, I think this whole transition would have driven me mad. I mean literally bat-shit insane. ...But I don't know... losing the arm... it kinda snapped everything into perspective, ya know? Showed me what was important in my life. But at the same time, it also showed me that I'm probably a little crazy. See, I've been torn between drawing designs for a robotic arm for myself, and then building a massive gun because I know have the space to keep it. Screwed up ain't it?"
  19. The bullets would pass right through and hit the person on the other side of Dark Star. He has Protection. If he had a Force Field instead, the bullets would be stopped. A similar occurrence would happen with Phantom because her Force Field is AP'd off her Insubstantial.
  20. Indeed you are Approved! But you pain is only just beginning, for now you need to get a second approval. NeHahaha. *much mustache twirling*
  21. Eric wasn't too surprised to see Dark Star, he had figured he would come to see him at some point or another. Eric was however a little disappointed to see him though. Dark Star didn't really have what he would call eyes, and neither did he carry with him any smells of the outside. But the reason Eric would look past the fact of what Dark Star was, was his heart. Dark Star was one of the very few down to earth, honest to goodness, decent people that inhabited this world. Eric gave Dark Star a small smile as he sat down opposite him. "It's great to see you again. I didn't get to say it before you left, so I'll say it now: Thank you. You set the record straight, regardless of how you personally felt about me. I would have wrote you a letter of gratitude, but as you can probably surmise, my penmanship is still quite terrible, and it is very hard to send a letter to someone without an address. So, what brings you by?"
  22. Eric's mood immediately brightens when he sees the good Doc. "Oh Doctor Archeville! This is quite a pleasant surprise." says Eric as he practically bounds into the room and plops down in the chair opposite Archeville. Unconsciously Eric's flicker to his stump of an arm, and his eyes momentarily harden. "No not much pain. The chemical bath that corroded it also had properties not unlike those of pain killers. It deadened all the nerves so while I don't feel pain, I occasionally think there should still be something there... But enough of this depressing chatter, they have shrinks for that. How have you been?" It was a little odd the way Eric presented himself here. It reminded Doctor Archeville so very much of their meeting at Darts. It was as if even after the whole world knew he was a villain, Eric was still the same person he had always been. Whether that was good news or bad was a trickier issue.
  23. Lemme guess, move action to shapeshift into one of the scientists? Too bad Rocket doesn't notice: (10:50:59) Geez3r: need to roll a notice check for RRG (10:51:03) FreedomBot: Geez3r rolls 1d20 and gets 7.
  24. Dammit he's slippery. Gotta catch up with him. Rocket rounded to find... that the creature had given him the slip. He stopped to help the woman to her feet "It's alright now, which way did the creature go? Find a safe place to hide and stay there."
  25. Grrr. This thing's tough. Gotta stop it from running! Rocket again tore after the creature and tried a different tactic this time. Rather than blasting or hitting it, Rocket wrapped his arms around it and tried to hold the creature down so it couldn't get close to any of the innocents that were back this way.
