"Yeah, but you and Zoe are not incredibly unstable emotionally. Mark and Faith make how I act look normal, and that's not a good sign," pointed out Chris, biting the top of a beer bottle with his teeth. "And, face it, if you two split up, you'll both be bummed out, but not EMOTIONALLY ANNIHILATED. Faith will be, and Edge is already emotionally screwed up and won't notice."

1d20+9=29 Geckoman will arrive at the start of the next round. Making a comeback = rolling 20s.

Phalanx could see six customers on their knees on the floor, handcuffed and on their knees. Behind each one stood a thug holding a pistol of some kind, as two more of their friends hurriedly bagged up bundles of notes. A final gang member was gathering up wallets and purses from the customers. The staff were nowhere to be seen, however... From above, Edge and Quark could see much the same thing, only the two thugs bagging up money were nowhere to be seen. None of them seemed aware that their guns were going to fail when they attempted to fire them.

Look at it another way. We're introduced to the character emptying rounds into his daughter. Of course he doesn't sound like a normal person. He's bat**** ****ing crazy.

Dude, he was playing Adam West. And it was AWESOME.

Arrowhawk kept moving as Wesley's attack had no discernable effect. Pulling out an arrow, he nocked it and looped his finger into the fletching. I hate these experimental arrows. He fired it into the ground near the huge monster's feet, spikes shooting into the cement and anchoring it there even as Arrowhawk pulled taut the cable which had remained in his hand. OK, field test one... The archer steered his bike in a tight circle, the cable looping around and around the thing's huge ankles. Finally, shooting forth from his circle, the loops pulled tight and, unsteadily, the thing crashed into the ground. Field test: success.

That is indeed how I roll. :Batman:
-
Trip isn't PL-capped. And since the thing is Huge and thus has a size modifier to its opposed roll, Sand and I thought 17 isn't excessive.
-
Geckoman reached into his utility belt yet again, and fumbled around. "Payphone?" He produced a green cell phone. "I'd carry one of these. Or a commlink. Preferably both. Feel free to use it." He held it out to Jack. He questions our competence, and he doesn't even carry a means of communication? Don't he know a girl shouldn't go out alone without her cell?
-
Chris shrugged, looked at Faith, then did a quick forward flip in the air. Not as fast as he was before, he had to plant a hand down to roll to his feet. "Hmmm... less flexible. Good thing I'm not going to... y'know what, ignore that last part." He did a quick cartwheel and landed in a crouch doing jazz hands. "So, no, I wouldn't say I need my powers all the time. Although, pump a few rounds in me, I may change my opinion."

Freedom? THIS! IS! HOTH! Tripwire Arrow: Trip 17 (Feats: Improved Trip) I'll take the Fatigue initially. Trip attack, followed by opposed roll [Trip vs Dex+size] (1d20+16=22, 1d20+17=22) Crud, HP to re-roll. Trip! (1d10+27=30) If you'll allow me, I'll use the vehicle stuff from MaMa, I'll use One Hand On The Wheel to make a drive check while making my standard action attack. Driving defence (1d20+15=20) ... well, Defence 15 for the bike. *sobs*

Doesn't that come under him getting pp for the "not in daylight" drawback?
-
"Unfortunately, it got shot out. These guys have really planned this one."
-
They arrived at the bank shortly thereafter (after a couple of brief stops). The building was surrounded by police, and Geckoman was discussing something with one of them. "Hey, guys," he said, raising a hand in greeting. "The robbers are inside, with hostages at gunpoint. We need some sort of plan for getting them taken out." He frowned momentarily. "Psyche not with you?"
-
Forgot to tell you, Geez, the exploding arrows have the Lethal Only drawback. So he's injured as well.
-
"Few quick facts. One, I am a good shot, but for all you know, it's with a bow. Don't make assumptions. Secondly, I'm guessing you lack physics knowledge. A fired arrow in vacuum won't lose momentum until it smashes through a ship's hull, especially if said arrow has an explosive charge strong enough to hurt invulnerable metahumans rigged to it." He shook his head. "Fine, I'll do it, since none of you took the time out of your busy schedules to learn to shoot in a straight line. Just let the record show it's under protest, and I want to be shown where to aim such as it won't kill the ship's passengers. They might be killers. I'm not."

Minutes later, Geckoman had pumped the throttle up to the maximum, flying across the city towards the Pramas Bridge. The light reflected off the Pitchoo, making the metal shine even as it cast a dark shadow over the streets below. This is my city. He turned the ship side-on, the underside of the ship passing inches from the wall of a skyscraper. It's my job to fix this. The turrets dropped out from the ship as he cleared the building, adjusting his goggles with one hand even as his other hand flew across the controls. I'm back.
-
"You're right." Chris felt something being pressed into his hands. He looked down. Liz had carried his grappling gun and the Pitchoo remote in her purse. "Wha? Huh?" He looked stunned, just staring alternately at her and at his hands. "You know how smart I am. I knew all along. Just... I didn't want to admit it. I still don't like Geckoman, but you're him. We can deal with this. Once you find your friends, send them my apologies and then kick some ass." She grabbed the stunned Chris by the waist and kissed him full on. "I'll deal with the people here." Chris could only nod, close his eyes and then... Geckoman opened his eyes. "Ok, let's do this!" He hit a button and the Pitchoo exploded from a warehouse wall not too far away, blasting towards their location. A quick grapple shot, and Chris flew upwards and landed in the open door. His stuff was laden out on the seats. "Scan for Young Freedom transmissions, computer." He picked up his mask and goggles from where they lay, pulling them on. Let's do this.
-
"I knew this was gonna be a sucky day!" shouted Chris, grabbing Liz's arm and running for the door. "We're getting outta here." They looked up. "Is that... a giant gorilla?" asked Liz, raising an eyebrow. "They're all over the city!" shouted a passer-by who was on his cell phone. "Someone's gotta stop them!" As if on cue, a chunk of rubble came flying towards the mall. "No!" shouted Chris, pushing Liz down and leaping at the man with the phone. The masonry crashed down at his heels. "Everyone! Get out of here!" From where they were, Dark Star could be seen teleporting in. "OK, help's here, stay out of his way!" Liz lay there looking shocked as Chris took charge and started barking orders.
-
Chris and Liz were walking holding hands in the Millenium Mall. "C'mon, wakey-wakey... Chris?" Why aren't I happy? Seriously, I'm Chris. I don't do mopey. Only Mark is less mopey than me. Wait... crap, talking! "Sorry, what?" he said, looking up. He was looking haggard, with dark rings under his eyes. "OK, we're talking about this. Sit down," she commanded him, leading him to the food court. "You told me you were Geckoman to make up for the guilt of stealing everything you had. I've forgiven you. Why can't you manage?" Chris looked into her eyes. "No. I was wrong. Halfway through the year and a half... I stopped doing it for guilt. I was Geckoman. Wait... I am Geckoman. If it makes you happy, I'll carry on trying not to be. But you gotta understand, it won't be easy for me." Liz sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Kenzie, I know. But..." Then the explosions started outside.
-
Arrowhawk rolled his eyes. "Always with the theatrics. Come down to Earth, angel. Because I don't think you know how much you're needed." The archer gave a wry smile and began jogging back to Southside, ignoring the pain in his leg.
-
"Not that long ago, I quit being Geckoman. Through my own stupidity, the same act that had turned me into a metahuman... turned the love of my life into a supervillain." "So I had to stop. It was the only way. Stop being Geckoman, and be Chris Kenzie. Grow up, go to college, etc. And you know what? It felt good. For a while. Just a little while." "Thing is, what's more important: the girl I love... or being a hero?"
-
"I don't know. Thing is, it's the Atoms. For all we know, they're on the moon or something," pondered Geckoman. "Although, I guess we could wait for the cops to show up, after the last lot had to retreat, STAR Squad should show up eventually."

The Silencer grabbed Arrowhawk's arm and went to twist it, but the powerfully built archer slapped it aside, going to put his foe into a headlock. Silencer leapt backwards to avoid the strike, knocking over tables and chairs as he went. Landing squarely on his feet, another sonic blast buffetted Arrowhawk, who just gritted his teeth and ignored the pain. "Fancy a drink?" he asked, picking up a glass and shattering it against Silencer's chest armour from across the room. It didn't even faze him.

Arrowhawk only rolls an 18 for Knowledge: Streetwise! He knows of the Silencer, but not much more than that. Now, FIGHTAN'! Silencer gets 22. Arrowhawk only gets 21! Round 1 Since Hawk's flat-footed until he acts, Silencer just lets rip. And rolls a 20! Sneak attacking sonic blasting critical! DC 31! 27 to resist, and Arrowhawk is Bruised and Injured. The Silencer then Fiats to surge, going for a ranged disarm. He hits on a 16 (barely), and Arrowhawk fails to resist. He's injured, on 4 HP and his bow goes flying! In retaliation, he quick draws his staff, crosses the room and goes to whack. 17 does not hit 28. Down to 3 HP, and... 27 still does not hit. Round 2 Silencer rolls 11 to hit and grapple... OK, let's go to 4 HP! ... 22 still misses. Arrowhawk goes to reciprocate, but he too misses (amateurs). Again, the re-roll misses! Round 3 Silencer goes to the opposite side of the room. And shoots. Easily hits, Arrowhawk getting a 25 for no damage. Arrowhawk throws a glass. And hits! We'll say Mighty Blast 1, so DC 19. Silencer gets 23.
