  1. Geckoman stood, uniform wrecked and blood crusted over his entire body. Yet he somehow managed to remain upright, pressing a finger to the commlink in his ear. "Mark... Erin... Mike... Alex... Eddie... Zoe... well, this is it. They're making one last push, and I don't know if you can hear this. I don't think we're gonna make it, so if you can hear me... well, do you want some stupid 'I believe in you' speech? Cos that's totally not what I'm saying. I'm saying pull your goddamn fingers out. Darian's down, and I dunno if he's alive or if he's dead or what, and I'm terrifed and covered with blood and I dunno if my mom and dad made it, or what happened to Liz... God, I don't want to consider it. Anyway, this is probably it, and you likely can't hear me, so yeah. I'll see you guys around somewhere, hope it's warm." He somehow produced a spare pair of undamaged goggles from his pocket and pulled them on. "BRING IT!" he shouted at the approaching horde.
  2. Arrowhawk narrowed his eyes and glared. "Ok, but try anything, you're dead where you stand. Now, we need to get civilians the hell out of here, so follow me and try not to attract swarms of the damn demons, OK?"
  3. Yes, he's undercapped. It's Geckoman. Yes, he lacks exotic saves. He's deliberately about PL 8.
  4. Gotta learn sometime :P
  5. If I can quickly get GoldGecks approved, I reckon he'd be up for this. His gecko powers aren't technically linked to nature, but he nonetheless has an animal theme.
  6. I'd have to agree with durf. Being able to hear or see well seems less abusive than awesome senses or combat bunny or social dynamo or blaster, etc...
  7. Arrowhawk was out of arrows, out of luck, and out of hope. He whirled the twin sabers in an overhead thrust that split a snarling goat-headed thing in twain, whirling out of the attack with both arms spread, scything down two more. Armour cracked in places and with blood pooling out of it, another rent was torn as one monster lunged under his defence and lashed out with sword-like claws. He growled an incoherent cry of anger at it, and decapitated it, spinning on one foot to kick an attacker coming up behind him, lashing off its limbs before ducking another strike. He was backed up to the mansion door by the demons who slipped past the defensive line. "Wasn't the point of the line to stop them getting back here?" he sighed, before darting forwards to meet the assault. Claws flashed and were sliced off as retaliation, fanged maws had their bite removed by the stomp of a heavy boot and tails were grabbed to pull their owners onto a swordtip. Arrowhawk retreated back, even more bloody and with only one saber. His bad leg was stiff and screaming at him from the sheer agony of his wounds. And still more came. "I'm going to Hell anyway. Want a taste of what it'll end up like for you lot?" he shouted, eyes blazing. "Well, here it is!" He went forth again, sword whirling.
  8. Gah, skipped again despite it still being the "tomorrow" afternoon described in the PM :(
  9. Arrowhawk eyed the monster warily. Yeah, it had helped him kill the demon. Didn't mean it was friendly. "I haven't seen your like around here, mate. Are you one of them?"
  10. The heroes were falling back, forced back by hordes of demons. Geckoman punched and shot as the semi-circle formed, and then it happened. He saw Quark go down under the tide of demons. Time seemed to slow, and Chris just stood there, helpless against the sheer weight of numbers. He'd never get there in time. He could hear himself shouting as if from outside his own body... ... then four demons crashed into him at once in a snarl of teeth and claws. They were small, vicious things, like red scaly dogs. They were on top of him, tearing his flesh and gnawing at limbs. Geckoman swung and struggled against one even as the others worked at maiming him. In a sudden surge of fury, he managed to headbutt one onto its back while springing up atop the mass of demons assailing him. "C'mon, you want this city, you gotta go through me!" he jeered, swinging to deliver a hammer blow to one of the dog-demons pouncing at his head. "You kiss your mother with those fangs? Bet she had to throw up afterwards." He rolled to avoid another attack, sending two crashing into one another. "Too slow, too stupid, just too rubbish. Grade F, maybe D for effort." A demon fell to the floor as a green boot swept its feet from under it. "Demon horde! Stop trying to hit me and hit me! So speaks Lawrence Fis-" A slash tore his skin off his ribs. "Ok, ok, Neo, less of that!" He mustered the effort to blast the demon in the leering, gnashing face. "COME ON!"
  11. Ok... saves... Geckoman: Dc 28... (1d20+5=14)... and just realised he can't make DC 28, so just takes 4 bruises. Arrowhawk: DC 28 (1d20+9=29, 1d20+9=24, 1d20+9=13, 1d20+9=19): 3 of 'em!
  12. The Pitchoo lives! (1d20:5+10=15; 1d20:16+10=26; 1d20:8+10=18; 1d20:11+10=21; 1d20:15+10=25) Ok... DC 22... Injured on the first, fine on the second, injured again, and again, then with three injuries barely make the last save. The hull is scratched and dented to hell, but we live!
  13. Updated (a/o March 2012) sheet here. [floatr][/floatr] Players Name: Ecalsneerg Power Level: 15 (205/226PP) Trade-Offs: +1 Attack for -1 DC, +1 Defence for -1 Toughness Unspent PP: 21 Progress to Platinum: 104/120 (35PP pre-bump [PL8/125PP > PL11/161PP], 59PP post-bump) Characters Name: Geckoman Alternate Identity: Christopher Kenzie Height: 5'10'' Weight: 160 lbs Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Description: Chris Kenzie is a normal-looking guy, a little bit scrawny and scruffy, but other than that he's just your usual teenage boy. He's not often without a smile on his face, though and tends to wear long-sleeved t-shirts and baggy jeans to hide his Geckoman costume. The costume itself is lurid green and close-fitting, the hood covering all of the face except the mouth. The eyes are covered up by orange-hued goggles to further hide his identity. History: Chris Kenzie wasa bit of a slacker. All the teachers said so. He wasn't stupid, far from it, but he didn't apply himself to anything. This continued all the way up until high school, until he was on the brink of dropping out altogether. Then, one day, he'd skipped school and was just walking about when he stumbled upon a cordoned-off warehouse. It had evidently been raided by the police, or Freedom League, or somebody, but the contents hadn't yet been removed. And, hey, nobody was around, were they? Chris went in for a quick look around, and was amazed at his discovery. The place was some sort of mad scientist's laboratory! He found blueprints and prototypes for digital equipment, lightweight body armour, and even some sort of wrist-mounted 'zapper' thingies. Not even stopping to consider he might be 'thieving', he began gathering the things up in a sack to take home. After all, they were all pretty awesome. It was just pretty damn annoying that he'd pricked himself on some needle while taking the stuff, man, that smarted. But, the piece de resistance was found under a huge dust-sheet, evidently untouched for a while due to the layers of dust on it. Some sort of spaceship! The thing was a bit boxy, sixteen feet long with several seats and storage cupboards in the interior. But the real fun part were the electrical blasters. Sadly, you just couldn't get away with stealing this... I mean, it'd get noticed. This didn't prove a problem, as without warning Chris began having some sort of fit, jerking forwards into the controls. The thing lurched upwards, crashing through the roof of the warehouse and erratically flying across the city before crashing into a hillside outwith its limits. Chris awoke several feet from the ship, to the sight of his hand lying beside him on the ground. In shock, he looked down... to see a replacement growing out of the stump. On closer inspection, he found he could stick to surfaces and had improved vision. In addition to this, the ship and the technology he'd pilfered didn't seem to have been damaged very much, just some things even a slacker like him could replace... if he learned to. So Chris Kenzie miraculously began studying electronics and mechanics overnight, his teachers shocked. All the while, he spent his evenings fixing up his ship and fashioning a superhero costume for himself. He would be the Gobsmacking Geckoman, in his airship the Ptychozoon! (although that soon got shortened to Pitchoo) The teenager came to Duncan Summer's attention as soon as he became an active 'superhero', flying across the city in pursuit of a bank robbery and accidentally blowing some cars up in his eagerness. Summers got in contact with Geckoman and invited him to pay a visit to his school for superhumans. Well, he wasn't going to say no, was he? While at the school, Chris became Geckoman near fulltime, going to classes and then heading out on patrol. Eventually he got roped into one of the superteams, Young Freedom. Thus, with the addition of training, he has very little free time, all of which he tries to spend with his girlfriend. Personality & Motivation: Feeling slightly guilty for stealing his airship and powers, Chris seeks to atone through fighting crime as Geckoman. However, he'd likely do it even sans guilt, as flying around beating up crooks and getting the girl is a boyhood dream come true. Chris acts pretty much the same in costume as without, talking loudly and freely, going off on rambling tangents mid-sentence and merrily joking. He doesn't let things get him down or worry him, even if caution would be advised. The downside of this is that he is often inadvertently blunt and rude without meaning offence. Powers & Tactics: Geckoman has the proportionate agility and healing power of a gecko, giving him Olympic-level reflexes and the ability to regenerate severed limbs in the space of a few hours. In addition, he can also scale sheer surfaces by clinging to them with his hands and feet, see in low light and the infrared spectrum, and has a slightly heightened resisilence to physical damage and diseases. He also possesses a variety of gadgets, most notably wrist-mounted electrical 'zappers' that fire bolts of high-powered electrical energy. He also possesses an airship known as the Pitchoo capable of flying at hundreds of miles an hour and being remotely piloted. He generally uses the Pitchoo for an opening volley, before dropping down to fight at close range, throwing his foes off-guard with taunts and jeers. Complications: Accident (tends to be a little... careless): Chris is way too cocky for his own good, often participating in blatantly idiotic schemes with the potential to cause damage to himself and anything around him. Anyone who has seen him fly would testify to this. Enemy (Spellbound): The mysterious inventor of Geckoman's gadgets and airship appeared, calling herself Spellbound. She wants her stuff back, and won't stop until Geckoman gives it to her. Secret (identity): Chris Kenzie attempts to keep his identity secret as much as he can. However, much of Claremont know it, as would anyone who has spent time with both (he doesn't act any differently in or out of costume) Regeneration: While cuts and bruises don't sap his energy much, it Geckoman ever had to regenerate from severe injuries he would have to use up much of his body's energy possibly leading to muscle and bone wasting, extreme hunger or many other debilitating effects. This complication is essentially license for the DM to start using Fatigue, Drain or Nauseate effects on him as the plot demands if he has made recovery checks from effects like being disabled or having severed limbs. Responsibility (being a superhero, Elizabeth Lawlett, school, Young Freedom): Oh god. Between passing school so he can graduate and hit college, maintaining his relationship with Liz, his solo superheroics and training with Young Freedom. And he's unwilling to ditch any. He wants to do well in school. He wants to be a superhero. And he loves Liz. Wacky Relationship Hijinks! His archenemy, Spellbound is Liz Lawlett. Trouble is, neither knows the other's secret identity. This is probably the Complication of all Complications. 14. I mean I'd already rolled it yet forgot to post. Thus, using DICE is cheating.
  15. No, I mean how are they hitting Geckoman through the armoured airship that hasn't suffered a single scratch, and thus has no hole in it to enter by?
  16. I just realised I forgot to post Geckoman's save in the edit, and IC is down. You can't prove I failed! You can't prove it!
  17. PA for 5 with Explosive Arrow, so DC 26 penetrating (1d20+11=12) Erm... HP? http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2341278/
  18. "Go to Hell," growled Arrowhawk, pulling an arrow with a bulky tip from the quiver, and pulling it back. Hopefully the explosive tips would blast through the accursed thing's hide. He shot it even as it reeled from the monster's attack.
  19. Sorry I forgot to post, pity I lack a PM box How are they hitting Geckoman too? The Pitchoo hasn't even been scratched.
  20. Geckoman stood trembling as they waited for Armageddon to come and kill them. His friends had to still be out there... otherwise what was the point? "Dammit, Mark," he mumbled to himself, "Do your damn job and save us all..." As the horde burst in, his nerve nearly broke and he started firing his zappers wildly as the demons rushed at him, the wild shots hitting simply due to lots of targets, not any accuracy on his part. He saw Arrowhawk firing the last of his quiver, shots taking down the leaders before he grabbed for an arrow that wasn't there. The last Geckoman saw, the archer had drawn two battered antique sabers and whirled into the melee screaming in incoherent rage. Geckoman kept firing and backing off until he managed to realise there was nowhere to back to. Throwing a smokebomb before him, he lunged with his strike knuckles into the smog, electrically augmented blows throwing demons around even as they crowded about, enhanced reflexes only barely saving him from death at their claws. "MARK!" His fist cracked a demon's skull even as its claws tore the G off his costume and left a thin red line across his chest. "ERIN!" A kick tossed him rolling across the ground, leaving him to frantically dodge stomping hooves and raking hellforged axes. "Eddie... Mike... guys..." He headbutted a charging monster, cracking his goggles. "HURRY UP AND STOP THEM!!!!"
  21. Cy never made said deadline post, so Will 1d20+7=21 EDIT: Or... Geckoman's, when I remember who I posted with *facepalm*
  22. I'd say no to lowlight. Darkness overrides low light, because it's not 'low light' if there's 'damn near no light'. UV... maybe, yeah.
  23. Ecalsneerg

    Marco!...

Polo! If Sand and Moira know, we could likely presume Angel.
  24. It's up to Cy, but Duskstalker and Mongrel Angel haven't replied in the Bridge thread, even pre-server explosion.
  25. Arrowhawk deftly avoided the claws, his bow appearing in his hands even as he sidestepped. "Missed," he stated, an arrogant sense of amusement present in his voice. He rolled back, cloak spinning to deflect a second strike, and came to a side-on position twenty feet away, an arrow nocked and pulled, steel point aimed at the demon's chest. He released the arrow.
