  1. "OK? I blew up that munitions dump. It was me, which explains why I was lying under the rubble." Don't call my bluff on whether or not I want them to know. "The deaths? Accidents, and for that I'm sorry. I know that's enough, but there's nothing I can do about that right now. Resolving that has to come as soon as I walk out of here," he said pointedly. "So here we are. Fact of the matter is, I've said my piece. I've said what I did, and I don't regret what I did. I can't. Second I stop to have doubts, I'm dead. I don't have a force field, or invulnerability. I've got a bullet-proof vest and a box of painkillers. I'm a dead man if I hesitate. Thus, if I make a mistake, I have to DEAL WITH IT," he snarled at the last few words. "Want me to attest? I will. Want me to hand myself over? OK. But want me to regret stopping a supervillain from killing god knows who, and don't retort with the obvious, as that was an accident I'm going to have to live with, and there is no way to reverse that now. Nothing can repay their loved ones." Arrowhawk took a deep breath. "So, stop asking me to explain myself. I did. If I could go back, I'd clear the area, but guess what? I can't. So I did what I've done. Do as you will, I can't justify it. How can you ask me to defend myself when I've accidentally become a murderer? Because a screw-up I can't justify to me is one I have no chance of justifying to you."
  2. Honestly? I did kill them, and I'm not going to say I'm not guilty. I'm guilty as hell, right here. I'm not looking for pity here. But, frankly? I don't think I could have not done it. Down there, he had enough missiles, bullets and other gadgets to destroy three quarters of this city, if I'm any judge. Not to mention miniaturised EMP technology, which was my original reason to be there. He was dangerous, and I neutralised the danger. The deaths? A complete accident, and I can't atone for that. He rolled onto his side to look Scarab in the eye. "Sorry, you two. Remember, Scarab keeps it all mental due to a desire for secrecy." Now, your other two points. One, I'm not on your team. I'm left out in the cold, all because I'm not stupid enough to give up my secret identity to people I barely know. Working with someone is some trust, but it's nowhere near enough to trust something that big. Hypocritical, considering they all trust your hockey-masked lieutenant despite him doing the same thing. As for why I should walk. You can't stop me. You could kill me right now, but you're no executioner. You could lock me up, but you know that wouldn't work too well. As for mind-wiping me... well, you could do that easily enough, but who's to say it'll hold well. And I don't think you want to walk down the road of lobotomising people.
  3. Arrowhawk laughed, partly from genuine amusment and partly from a haze of pain. "You think I'm scared of you? Even in your sanctum, and helpless and half-blown up, you're not going to scare me. So just level and talk normally, less of the theatrics." Oh, and stay out of my mind unless I ask you. I'm not that helpless yet.
  4. "Yeah, I'll be OK until she gets here," said Arrowhawk to Dark Star darkly, "Just go. People need help, OK?" He lay back and felt his leg twinging still. "I should be OK."
  5. As the main group descended down into the level below them, it was obvious from their surroundings the Doc had been here a while. Packing crates were scattered around the floor, and more still were stacked at the walls. At the far end of the floor, three androids were visible, lifting boxes onto a big palette and tying them down. They quickly turned to face the group. "The Doc expected you'd be coming," said the lead one. "He wants to see the results of his experiment, but he's not stupid enough to let you get through unless you're real beat up. Which is where we come in!" Avenger arrived in the ground floor. Here, there were very few boxes, but a couple of vehicles with blacked out glass. Presumably so the Doc could go out personally without being recognised. One of the angel androids was stood guarding the up-ramp, arms folded over her chest. She obviously hadn't noticed the vampire superhero yet, and looked about as bored as a robot could presumably look.
  6. Initiative!
  7. "I could just walk up the wall, y'know... rather than the whole luggage thing..." Geckoman checked his belt and armed his zappers. "Other than that, let's go slap a Nazi!"
  8. Arrowhawk pivoted on one foot. "Then get out of here! It's too dangerous! Run!" he shouted at the girl in the costume, before nocking his bow and aiming a shot at the thug attempting a fighting stance. The shot to the temple left the man unconscious on the floor. "Can't we all just surrender and accept we're taking you into custody?" he called up to the car.
  9. <.< Will update Sunday >.>
  10. HP on Beginner's Luck so I can sing like an angel (+10 bonus)? :D
  11. Lie to meeee (1d20+11=19) I'd hero point, but let's see how we roll with this... Cyroa, if you want Dark Star to always have his shield up, maybe buy it as Enhanced Defence (glowy energy field throws aim off)? You'd still lose half flat-footed, but you'd never lose it all. As Shield in UP is simply Enhanced Dodge Focus, you'd still lose its benefits when stunned anyway.
  12. Geckoman, Geckoman, sneaks just like a kid in bright green can... (1d20+3=4)
  13. Notice, Sense Motive (1d20+5=14, 1d20=19)
  14. "Yeah, that'd work," mused Chris. "We just do like I do with the Pitchoo, leave it up in the clouds or something. Or I could leave it underwater and home the Nazis' technology wouldn't attack a stationary object."
  15. Upon seeing her miss, Spellbound pouted. "You wouldn't want to hit a girl, would you?" Dammit, dammit.... obvious trick... but... but... I have a girlfriend! Damn you, Geckocrotch! "Want, no. Will, yes!" snarled Geckoman, striding over and swinging a shock knuckle at her face. A forcefield shimmered around her and reverberated, sending Geckoman's fist flying backwards. "Why are you so infuriating!" snapped Spellbound, letting the tip of her wand flare brightly, but Geckoman was just out of the worst of the light and wasn't affected. "C'mon... why don't we go chill out..." she smiled, moving in close to him. Gaaaaaaaah! Damn you, libido! Damn you consience! "Damn you!" ...out loud!? He raised his arm and pointed another zap from his zappers at the girl. She was hurled backwards off her feet, crashing into a sack of coins in the vault and crying out. Pressing a button on her wand, she vanished in a burst of white light. Geckoman turned to hear the windows rattle outside. "A teleporter!? Why can't I get a break," he sighed, turning to give chase.
  16. Round 7, cont: Spellbound uses a move action to try and trick Gecks. Nope. Round 8: Gecks still has 1 HP. I'll not bother rolling an attack, Strike 3 can't breach her Impervious anyway. So Spellbound uses Dazzle on him! Accuracy failure So she tries to trick him again, and only narrowly fails despite her -5 for move action and his +1 for repetition. Round 9: Geckoman critical hits, and Spellbound rolls a 13 against the subsequent DC 25 hit... Damn you sudden burst of confidence! I don't want the fight to end so quickly, so I'll fiat away the stun. Up to 2 HP... She extra efforts on her Device to get a Teleport AP: She's got enough for Teleport 8, but she's just going outside to her broomstick.
  17. Round 4: Geckoman has 1 HP left. Both are still unhurt, but not for lack of trying. He follows Spellbound as a move action, and hits using offensive stance. She fails by 4 and is bruised. She turns and retaliates. Barely hits. Bruised and stunned. Round 5: Geckoman has 1 HP. He recovers from being bruised and stunned as he lies on the floor. Spellbound moves all-out, so I'll just say she gets to the safe. Round 6: Gecks staggers to his feet, and moves after her. He's still about 100' from Spellbound. She switches to magnetic control and picks up the bags of coins (yes, coins. We all know where this is going) Round 7: Geckoman moves using accelerated movement... ... to meet Spellbound coming the other way. She hits him with her sacks of coins. Or tries to!
  18. "Stop! These people don't deserve this!" shouted Geckoman, running after her. He aimed a shot at the girl's back, which hit and fried the back of her outfit. She spun, a look of fury on her face. But you deserve this!" she spat, firing another bolt of lightning at him. Once again, he found himself lying flat on his back as the girl kept moving towards the safe. He reached up and rubbed his goggles as he felt yet another burn fade. Is it wrong I'm so unbelievably turned on by some hot supervillain electrocuting me? He got to his feet once more, and began jogging down the hallway. Rounding the corner, he saw an open vault with all the bank employees and guards sat on a pile of notes and coins. She was levitating a few sacks with her wand. "Everyone hold on, I'm handlin-" He narrowly ducked the sacks flying at his head. "... I'm handling this?"
  19. Geckoman and Quark. Thursday evening (Sept 25th), 5 days before the Delivery at Pier 18. Liberty Park, Parkside, Downtown Freedom. "Three gangsters? We could handle that. Don't worry, we'll make sure your stuff gets through to you fine! C'mon, Quark," said Geckoman, calling the ship down from the sky once more. "Shouldn't take too long to scope out the whole place."
  20. This your new excuse for not posting? :D
  21. Chris appeared conveniently at that moment, only for his face to twist in disgust. "Rhythym and blues will never be part of the times. Ever. Never compromise, not even in the face of R Kelly." "Sorry I vanished. I met some guy from my last school. Was ranting about how his dad works as a drinks vendors and some maintenance dude hit him with a smokebomb a few weeks back."

Surging requires extra effort. Extra effort requires a free action. Thus, no actions, no surges.
  23. Raaaargh, I'm s scary monster! (1d20+15=20) Demoralise use of Intimidate on blink. Crappy roll, but I'm not wasting a re-roll. 20 is still a respectable DC.
  24. Arrowhawk fired his grappling gun, swinging down to the street and landing with a deliberate thud. "Hello, 'officer'," came the smirk from behind the cowl. "So glad you could join us, but perhaps next time you should pay more attention to your outfit so it's not so obvious a disguise?" He drew his bow in a flash and stood letting his cape obscure his shape, red lenses in the cowl visible as a dim glow. "Surrender and I'll go easy on you," he snarled.
