If there's still room, I'd like to get Arrowhawk in on this. He's got a quiver of arrows on a par with Batman's utility belt, so he should be of use. ;)
-
Would there be some way to alter it so it acts more as a power than a drawback (i.e. a very limited boost with a side-effect)?
-
I'd hug you, but you might be contagious. :D
-
Taking 10 on Notice and Stealth, for 26 and 28 respectively.

The Arrowhawk stood in the darkness watching the derelict building for signs of life. Skinheads using Powerhouse pharmaceuticals. Attempting to steal a dangerous substance, although they'd been beaten to it. And I've been led here. And the building looks empty. But I've been wrong before... His dark figure crouched low, sneaking through the shadows silently and easily. He pulled his cape tight around him, to stop it dragging on walls and to make him a more uniform mass of shadow. Stopping at the front door, he paused leaning against a wall and looked around for a window to peer through.

Christopher Daniel Barnes, the voice of Spidey from the 1994 cartoon, is probably a good choice for Geckoman. Arrowhawk, I dunno. Maybe Ewan MacGregor or Robert Carlyle. Maybe I'm aiming too high. :D

I included the title 'Origins' in the PM title line.

Why isn't my dad this awesome?

Then what happens when you crush a grape?

"Right, Quarky-boy, we've got three smells going off in three directions," said the Geckoman, sniffing the ground pensively. One smells similar to you, so I'm not going to follow it in case I am actually sniffing you. Nice deodorant, by the way." He spun a bit. "Incense and books? Hippy? Pah, don't want to talk to a hippy." He pointed in the direction the final smell seemed to be going off in. "Well, it's more incense, but it has a doggy odour. I like dogs. Let's follow the smell of dogs!" announced Chris, standing and pointing dramatically into the air.

Maybe Malador might have something to do with it? If Eldrich doesn't like the Aesir being invited over to his place, but Malador doesn't like Eldrich... Fun and profit?

Actually, if you want to take into account accelerated or all-out movement, you'd only need Speed 10 for the former, or Speed 9 for the latter. Thing is, the point cost is so low you may as well take Speed 11 anyway.
-
The thing is, by strict reading of the rules, you could have accurate as a power feat for every array slot for the same cost. That's the rationale I use in home games, at least.
-
Nah, it's definitely intelligence on how to open a door. Especially considering he's supposed to be good with technology.
-
I dunno, you were worrying as I was falling, I opened the door while falling. Maybe I didn't open the door until after you'd finished worrying about opening a door. God he doesn't deserve his Intelligence score :P
-
That'd make the immunity sustained rather than permanent, at no change to cost but allowing you to power stunt off of it and extra effort to gain other immunities. But, as Geez3r says, Super-Movement is probably more what you're looking for.

On this boards, Arrowhawk also uses Attack Specialisation and Improved Critical to apply to his whole bow array (of which 7/9 attacks need an attack roll), and I haven't had this concern brought up before, despite using a much bigger array. And, as Toptomcat points out, in the first link the example of Bowman from the Freedom City book is used, whose build I based heavily upon, using the same principle.

"Ok, let's just do these in order," muttered Chris, wandering over to Creativity. There were a couple of boxes with pegs, wires, bulbs and resistors, as well as an instruction card. 'Find some way to make the lightbulb light up.' "What!? That's easy!" scoffed Chris, rummaging for a power supply... ... no power supply. Not even a AAA battery. "Hold on a second," thought Chris, an idea occurring to him. He wired up the bulb to two wires quickly and deftly, before sticking them both into his fingertips. "Aaaaand... electrostatic charge," he laughed, turning on his wall-crawling ability and letting the electrostatic charge he generated light the bulb up. Not very much, but enough for a loud 'Ping!' to signify he'd passed at that station. The next station was Intellect, with a computer keypad and screen set up. It had a question displayed on the screen. "What is the unit of measurement for capacitance?" The old Chris would have been clueless. But the Geckoman liked technology, and knew it imstantly. "Farads," he typed. 'Ping!' "Next!" The third station had an locked box. Apparently he had to open it. He picked up a bent piece of wire, stick it in the lock and "BZZZZZZZZZZZZT!" The alarm was set off. "Hey!" said Chris is mock outrage, flipping over the box. He quickly disconnected the wires underneath, then tried the lock. It clicked open with no incident, to reveal... an empty box. 'Ping!' The next station was denoted Charisma. Geckoman was good at that. A bored-looking student stood there with a clipboard. "Hey, what you here for?" "Apparently need to work on gullibility and apparently you can help." Chris read the card that had been face-down on the table. "Did you read this?" "Nope." "Well it says to do the test, you need to put your hand on that metal plate thing. Must be a lie detector." The kid sighed and put his hand down. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT! He shouted and brought his hands away. "Ow! Do you know what that could've done if I didn't have my powers!?" "Card says you're immune to electrical shock, so obviously yeah. Teachers aren't allowed to fry students... any more." He turned to face the teachers. "So what do I win?"

For example: 1-d20+10=15 vs your roll. YOu fail and decide to try again. Reroll both. Skill catergories: Creativity [Craft skills]; Intellect [Knowledge skills]; Practical application [Computers, Disable device]; Charisma [bluff] Part 1 -- Tough difficulty DC 15 Part 2 -- Challenging difficulty DC 20 Part 3 -- Formidable difficulty DC 25 Part 4 -- Opposed difficulty d20+10 Part 1 Creativity, DC 15 Craft skills DC 15 (1d20+6=24, 1d20+6=15, 1d20+6=21) Easily does it on the first roll, through use of pseudo-science I'm not sure of the legitimacy of! Part 2 Intellect, DC 20 Knowledge: Technology DC 20 (1d20+6=22, 1d20+6=14, 1d20+6=22) Part 3 Practical, DC 25 DC 25 disable device (1d20+5=6) Disable Device DC 25 (1d20+5=25, 1d20+5=24) Got it on the second attempt. Now to the money maker skill... Part 4 Charisma, opposed Opposed bluff (1d20+14=24, 1d20+10=15) Easy!

The Geckoman pulled his orange goggles on as his eyes started to water from the fall. Reaching out with the remote as Darian brought the ship down to the water's surface, he opened the door slightly and pulled out his grappling gun. "Angle it to the left and..." The hook shot out, wrapping around the handle and jerking hard, sending Chris into a fast spiral around until he kicked his foot out and gained purchase to the surface. Staggering, he brought his other foot down and stood on the roof of the ship. "See, you learned fast there, didn't 'cha!" laughed Chris, breathing hard. "I also think I broke several toes."

IT'S A SECRET CONSPIRACY

But if you just have one summon, what's the difference between roleplaying the relationship between the hero and his minion in the same way as roleplaying the relationship between a hero and his sidekick, which isn't being restricted very much. Hellbound, you better go away when I say so or you get beaten like Sandy gets beaten.
-
So yeah, you have to let them heal properly before they come back from wherever it is you pull out your minion. Hammerspace? I'm not sure if that's in the core book or not, I've yet to transfer that PDF to my new laptop. <.< I don't think it's that faulty in that, even though he is the puny weak guy who has to summon up the power of Shazam, he still counts as the same character for pp award purposes. I'm not trying to say it's mechanically the same thing, but rather a similar concept using very different rules for the purposes of player awards. Something that is mechanically similar to the real Captain Marvel but almost identical to the concept I'm positing here is Mar-Vell, during the time where (iirc) he and Rick Jones traded places in the real world and another dimension. Summoning up another entity, but he ceases to be there so it probably would be working up as Alternate Form/Normal Identity. I'm not really talking about Near-Useless, but more Useful in Different and Interesting Ways. For example, Captain Marvel Jr. is a superpowered fighter, Freddy Freeman is a competent reporter. To use examples closer to my point, Mar-Vell is a trained fighter, Rick Jones has connections with half the Marvelverse, so I'd build him as the one with good social skills. The Thunderbolt is the powerful magical entity, Jakeem, like Rick Jones, is the one with the Connected and Contacts feats and good social skills. Ash's Pokemon blast/zap things into next week, Ash can actually speak more eloquently than 'Pika Pika!'. Pikachu is a sidekick bought outside of the pokeball device containing summon. I did not put too much thought into the latter, honest. Yes, but for 15pp of Minion, you pay 1 point, or Summon 1 for 2pp (cost increase from being able to summon/dismiss them at will). So -- as you point out -- "Summon Heroic Sidekick" should be 4pp, 3 for 15pp Sidekick + 1 for summon/dismiss.

I had forgotten this thread's existence, and would like to tell you all to watch Yes Man. The romance can be a bit cheesy, but the film is brilliant. My friend, who ordinarily doesn't like any second of any film without people beating up/blowing up/shooting up/being Samuel L Jackson at/shouting obscenities at other people, loved the film. That's gotta be a sign. At least omen-level.

Oh, I thought you were applying it to the array as a whole in that example. Since you didn't seem to understand them earlier, and the Array structure does nothing buying APs doesn't do, I'll only elaborate if pressed further Basically, Alternate Powers don't work like that. There's is one thing that increases the cost of an alternate power from 1 pp, and that is making it dynamic. Feats for each AP are bought using the pp it gives you.. Don't use the Array structure. Seriously, don't use it, it overcomplicates things. Even if you can understand them, comprehension only brings understanding of how pointless they usually are. Basically, build it like this. Alternate Form 5 (Spirit form, 25 pp of powers, Flaws: Projection, PF: 4 Alternate Powers, Variable Descriptor [different demon types]) AP: Alternate Form 5 (Sniper form, 25 pp of powers, Flaws: Projection, PF: Variable Descriptor [different demon types]) AP: Alternate Form 5 (Warrior form, 25 pp of powers, Flaws: Projection, PF: Variable Descriptor [different demon types]) AP: Alternate Form 5 (Stealth form, 25 pp of powers, Flaws: Projection, PF: Variable Descriptor [different demon types]) AP: Alternate Form 5 (Transporter form, 25 pp of powers, Flaws: Projection, PF: Variable Descriptor [different demon types]) This sort of thing is why I say play a couple of simpler games and slowly build up to complicated characters :P
