Siobhan clamped her hands over her ears, psychic static bursting across her temples. As soon as she'd tried to probe at the tear, something had hit her. It couldn't have been magical, or it wouldn't have overwhelmed her senses so quickly, but that was all she really had time to thing before her head was full of the sensation, crawling across her brain like nails scratched down a chalkboard over and over and over again. And now she was aware of it, she couldn't 'look away'. Siobhan gritted her teeth. Knights were rampaging down the street on horseback, she was aware of that, but only dimly through the mental fuzz. "Nnnnnnnnnngh." A groan escaped through gritted teeth as she applied her will and focus to her brain, blocking out the tear from her sixth senses. She didn't hurry, as rushing wouldn't speed up the process. She just slowly, but surely, pushed the sensation away from her mind, until she was only aware of it being in the street through the other five senses. "Dammit," she sighed, breathing heavily and turning back down the street, reaching for her wand. She called out to the heroes wresting with the commotion. "If you've got sixth senses, don't look into the tears with them," she called. "It just nearly took me down!" Siobhan reached to wipe a sheen of sweat from her brow.

"I'm not sure it's entirely possible to do magic after a human-sized stein of mead," said Equinox drily. Dimitri always unnerved her. She knew he presumably meant well, but still. "Certainly nothing of the complexity Kimber is suggesting here." The raccoon atop her head chittered merrily. <But lamb!> <No lamb. You ate, like, ten minutes ago. Seriously, where does it all go?> She turned to Revenant and grinned a little wider than she had with Dimitri. "Well," she drawled, gesturing at ther assembled mystics and mages and aliens and assorted strange people. "Do we at all look like a group of people who decide, every morning, to act in line with sensible ideas? I'm Dr Siobhan Drake, by the way." She turned to address the group as a whole at this last part. "You might know me as Equinox. Kimber asked me here along with our other colleagues to help out with the hoodoo. The raccoon is my familiar. She is not helping." She swatted at the ball of fur as it continued begging for lamb and booze.

"The runes look perfectly fine," said Siobhan, sweeping into the room. She had her long coat fastened across her front, trailing down to her ankles, where she was wearing bigger, clumpier boots than usual. She was used to under-heated tiny offices, but this was a little colder than that. A nicotine patch poked out from under the collar of her coat, so she wouldn't drop ash on the delicate inscribing. Atop her hair was a large Davy Crockett hat, tail dangling to her shoulder. "You've come on a lot, I think this should work out just fine." She gave the ghost a reassuring smile, and inclined her head to those among the group she actually knew. "Frost. Wraith. Nick." At the mention of Nick's name, her hat reared up, the raccoon on her head chittering and wiggling a paw at him. She cast an eye around the large group of very disparate people. "Looks like this is going to get elaborate," she commented wrily.

Siobhan Drake sighed as she gazed mournfully at the half-full plastic beaker. She'd only just bought this coffee. And now rifts? Really? It had been an awful meeting, and she'd rewarded herself with coffee, and, and... "Everybody stand back from the rift!" she boomed in a resonant voice, striding out onto the road towards it. In a flash of light, her clothes morphed into a long-trailing coat and tunic, her hair darkening as light burst forth from her eyes. She drew forth a wand from within her robes as she walked to stand in front of the hole in the world. "Well, let's hope nothing comes out." She extended her mage's senses towards the hole, seeking to find rhyme or reason to the phenomenon.

Geckoman leapt out of the chair, rushing out of the Pegasus and into the Communion ship. He looked around him, seeing his comrades fighting. The antibodies not yet upon them, still up in the air, where he couldn't reach them. He stood, tilting his head back, sniffing gently. If he couldn't get up close and personal with the ones fighting him, he could try and identify any incoming. "Keep them from stabbing me, I'm going to try and find if anyone else is coming in," he said, sniffing more and more rapidly. He wasn't getting much, just dead metal, burning metal... really, a lot of metal in various states of disrepair and violence.

Galvanic spun through space, trailing chunks of herself through the aether. Reeling, she spun around, those fragments coalescing back around herself until she returned to corporeal form, coat somehow billowing in the airless vacuum of space. She brought both hands up in front of her, lightning sparing up her arms to flare up around her hands as she flew towards the ship that had hit her. Streaks of light flew from her, making her resemble a small blue comet as she hit the ship at high velocity, bringing a screech of metal as her strength and momentum powered into it, sparks flying from the point of impact.

Apologies for lagging behind, ComicCon became a three day thing involving a Chinese man with a bunny. Do you want to treat this as a delay, or back to the top? Either works. Galvanic will fly at the ship that hit her, and punch it right in its stupid face. Free Action: Switch main array to electrical aura. DAP is at Flight 7 (total 8) and force field is at Immunity, not Impervious. Move Action: Fly at the space-ship! Fly at it! Standard Action: Electrical fist strike. 22 for a DC30 attack, going up to 31 with her Super-Strength.

"Well, not a trained one," shrugged Liz. "I'm not not a scientist, I'm a nuclear engineer. So the nanobots weren't hard, but the actual genetic stuff thing was a little bit beyond me, which is why I think it doesn't work." "Hold on, DNA?" interjected Chris. "Like, cheek swab, blood, peeing in a cup? Combination of the three? I'm fine with those, so long as you don't do that thing where they just rip out hair follicles. That one hurts." "You literally get shot on a daily basis, and you're fine," said Liz drily. "And I'm not fine with that either!" "Sigh," said Liz in a monotone. "Anyway, sure. We'll give you samples. We can gag him if it helps? But anything that'll help you figure out what's up here, it's not something I've tried because I don't have the facilities and wouldn't really understand the results."

Siobhan stared wistfully at the crab cakes. This line was taking so long. So very, very long. And she wasn't a huge fan of having to wear a pantsuit. She'd gotten way too used to swanning around in robes all the time, or at least jeans when she was at work, and this more formal setting was just constricting, even with the university paying her to be here. She turned to the man tugging at her robe and smiled. While not as pleased as he, it was indeed nice when people got her name right. You'd think being a publicaly known superhero and respected researcher would help with that, but nooo... Siobhan shook the man's hand. "Thank you, it seemed an interesting study, given the rapidly branching nature of post-1960s European occultism. I'm sorry, you know my name, but I..." She trailed off, rather than explicitly say 'I have no idea who you are' to this friendly old man.

"Ah, just how I like to enter a fancy venue. Blow open the walls, rush in, and beat the hell out of the greeters," mused Geckoman, tilting the Pegasus's nose downwards to enter a swooping descent. He started bringing the ship perilously closer and closer to the great huge stacks, not wanting to get blindsided when he was trying to land, or wanting to have the craft out and exposed as much as was possible. "I'll be bringing us into land in just a moment, so if you could strap yourselves in, listen to the stewardesses, and just... sorry, we forgot to put out those little bags of peanuts. Return trip, eh? That way we can have double the bags of little peanuts." He brought the ship in slower and slower as they approached the ground, curving around the side of one of the huge pillars. He lowered the ship down, close to the centre of its side. Hopefully this'd keep it quite well hidden. It was off the main 'avenues', and the pillars on either side would hopefully block Antibodies from finding it unless they got close. Unless they had advanced sensors, or could feel it in the metal of the ship, or, or, or... Well, there was only so much he could do.

Geckoman eyed the ArcheTech logos warily as he sat down. "Basic, huh?" He was also unsure where the big woman had gone and this other woman had appeared from. "Ummm... well, basically, I got my powers accidentally, through a serumy thingie." "It was an experimental nanobot system which rewrote DNA," continued Liz. She was also quite wary of all the ArcheTech logos. If this was a basic facility, what exactly was an advanced one? "The thing is, it shouldn't have worked. I've used it on myself multiple times, and it just gave me lingering pains for a few weeks. Chris was the first, and to my knowledge, only person it's ever worked on. Basically, it shouldn't work." "Well, it did," protested Chris. "I've got all these superpowers and everything." "Yes, but it shouldn't have. Basically, it rewrote his DNA to alter parts of his nervous system and cellular structure. I'm... not a biologist, which is probably why it doesn't work on everyone. Perhaps Chris already had existing compatible markers in his DNA that Iack. Maybe it's a dud and he was just a metahuman who hadn't got his powers to work yet." Liz shrugged, looking a little frustrated. She was a scientist, this was her serum, and she had no idea why it'd never worked properly.

Arrowhawk shouldered his bow. "Right. Then we go and stop the shipment. Take down the people doing it, and find their source." He turned to stare the other cape straight in the eye unflinchingly. "And while it will involve force and violence, it will be the appropriate amount for some wanna-be hard men. Save the hitting with rebar for actual metahumans. I'm not the Silencer. You won't be while I'm here either." He whirled on his heels and glided down the alley, cape whooshing out behind him a little with his fast pace. Up close, it was apparent he was favouring one side more than the other, one leg struggling to match the other's pace.

"Alternate idea," said Chris, "Before we go hurling people into other dimensions, even for a teeny lil bit, you know nobody's actually asked him to leave, right?" He clasped both his hands behind his head in a stress gesture. "I mean, that guy and his buddies did a damn good job of trying to kill us. Nearly got me and Fulcrum too. Also some of the most terrifying come-on attempts I've ever seen, and I mean, it got weird." He dropped his hands to his side, and shrugged. "But... I mean, trying and failing to make up for past mistakes, I think that merits just trying to throw him out of the street before throwing him out of the world, y'know?" The Geckoman looked up at the roof. "Hell, if you want me to, I'll go ask him to do it. And if it turns nasty, I'll toss him off the roof for you to deal with. Fair compromise?"

Galvanic followed soon after Paradigm and Rock, holding her breath briefly as she burst out of the airlock. As her momentum carried her forwards out towards the fleet, she abruptly exploded in a cloud of blue-yellow sparks. They coalesced again, into a roughly Galvanic-shaped blur in space. The shimmering form looked this way and that, the 'head' seeming to lock on to a third cruiser. Paradigm and Rock were both formidable and mighty individuals. She had faith neither needed back-up with something like a Communion ship. And she'd already single-handedly destroyed ships that size in this war. She streaked towards the cruiser through space, not achieving relativistic velocities, but moving at rapid speed nonetheless.

Geckoman Christopher James Kenzie is the civilian identity of the superhero Geckoman. Born May 17th, 1992, he became Geckoman when he was only 16, and as such has had as long a crime fighting career as many older heroes. A graduate of the Claremont Academy, former member of Young Freedom, and current member of the Interceptors, he has fought many foes, from the pettiest street thug, to cosmic horrors from other dimensions. History (Placeholder) Costume and Appearance Height: 5'1''; Weight: 175lbs; Hair colour: Brown; Eye colour: Brown To passers-by, Chris Kenzie looks like a twenty-something slacker. Messy brown hair, stubble, wearing rumpled jeans and t-shirts, and with a perpetually cocky smile spread across his face. A closer examination would reveal he is in great physical shape, with a lean acrobat's build. He typically favours a similar colour scheme to the one he wears in costume; a usual outfit is a yellow t-shirt with a green leather jacket. When operating as Geckoman, he wears a costume of lurid green of yellow. The specific patterning on it has varied over the years, but the core design has stayed the same. A bright green jumpsuit with a large yellow G emblazoned across the chest. A belt harness of pouches and weaponry, also in yellow. And a full head mask, open only for the mouth and to a large round pair of thick orange goggles. The distinctive design, after his many years of service, is instantly recognisable. Variants have included suits of darker green, or suits with more complex harnesses for the carriage of more gadgets and weaponry. Powers Geckoman's powers derive from a nanite serum which rewrote his genome to have many enhanced abilities bearing a coincidental similarity to those of a gecko. His most powerful ability is his body's ability to heal and repair injuries at a rapid rate, bruises and abrasions vanishing in seconds, and even mortal wounds and missing limbs regrowing in a matter of hours. Despite being a passive ability, Geckoman has honed this ability to allow him to function past the point most human beings would injure their own bodies performing at; letting him run faster, jump higher, and endure high levels of pain and discomfort. He also possesses preternatural senses, including a vastly enhanced sense of smell, an ability to see in lower light conditions and in the infrared spectrum. Geckoman has swifter reflexes and spatial awareness, increasing his reaction times and hand-eye co-ordination. His most iconic ability is, of course, the ability to cling to sheer surfaces with his hands and feet, supporting his own weight and that of others while retaining adhesion. Atop his superhuman powers, Geckoman's education, experience and training with the Raven and Jack of all Blades has made him a deadly individual in his own right. Physically he is in peak condition, his already-fast reflex honed to superhuman levels. At a push, he can pursue cars on foot, make hundred foot leaps, and rip doors off their hinges. He is skilled in multiple martial arts, notable capoiera, savate, zui quan and tae kwon do, with proficiency in several weapons. Geckoman is a skilled detective, driver, escape artist, and is by most metrics one of the most skilled pilots in the solar system. Despite his many skills and abilities, Geckoman is far from unstoppable. While fast, tough and regenerating, he is ultimately unable to take more damage than any other man in good physical condition. His heightened sense of smell renders him more vulnerable to assaults using gases or scents, and while skilled in many forms of combat, cannot truly be said to be as skilled as masters of those arts. Allies (Friends and teammates of your character, special relationships, family members) (Sidekick, HQ, Etc) (Create additional paragraphs for special features your character has. If they have a headquarters, describe it, how it is equipped, where it is located, how the hero came to have it. If they have a sidekick, the sidekick may warrant their own page, or simply a paragraph about them on the hero's page. You can also make sections for favored devices, your character's profession, or anything else you want to talk about.) Timeline (The timeline is a useful reference to all the threads your character has been in. The easiest way to make a timeline is to start with the year your character began, in the season they were introduced, and list all their threads in that season using the unordered-list button (buttons instead of numbers.) For every full year your character has been in play, start a new year in the timeline, with seasons listed Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Fall running till the Winter Solstice or all the way till the New Year. Make a link to the thread for easy later reference, and add a blurb describing what happened in that thread. The blurb can be as short or as long as is necessary to convey the important things that happened, or at least to give an idea.)

"I'm not done yet, Metal Man," said Geckoman through gritted teeth. He wrested the controls, banking the ship to one side hard, attempting to sweep the ship away from the approaching antibodies. "We need to land this damned thing first." He peered through the mist, looking for somewhere to land. It was like some horrible, monotone city in here. "Get the Communion off our backs, guys." He veered the Pegasus downwards, still banking sharply away from the antibodies. He was confident in his passengers' ability to handle them, but given this thing had to get them back home safe again, he didn't want to take any chances. Good as he was, Geckoman couldn't fly a breached hull into space without suffocating.
-
Standard Action: Evasive maneuvers! Taking 10 on the Pilot check gives a nifty 30 Defence, minus the size modifier of the Pegasus, of course. Move Action: Keep flying into the ship, looking for somewhere to land!

Chris and Liz cocked their heads and looked at each other. "This is the place," they said in unison. Liz reached into her coat and pulled out a large manilla folder, while Chris craned his neck to look up at Maxima. Man, she was biiiiig. Like, super big. Did she have to get stuff tailored? "Um. Hi. So, uh, Citizen told us there'd be a metabiologist here who could help us out with some things." Chris gestured vaguely. "It's not so much a superhero thing, as like... a medical matter with some, certain... genetic components? So, like, uh..." He was visibly struggling to make his words match up and make sense, a rivulet of sweat dripping down his forehead. Liz rolled her eyes. "Good grief, this'll hardly be the most personal information you might need to disclose. I'm Liz Lawlett, this is Chris Kenzie, a.k.a. Geckoman. We're trying to have a baby, but his unique genetic situation is hindering conception, and we were wondering if anyone could help," she said matter-of-factly. She was less nervous about this part. Not entirely keen on this insidious infiltration of superheroes into every aspect of her life. But hard science? This was what she did. "Most of the scientists we know are more into engineering." And Ellie hadn't graduated yet, which would have vastly simplified this whole process.
