Arrowhawk rolled his eyes and sighed. "Well, this is happening now." He rolled on Lawrence and bent low, so close the crying man could see his stubble and the discolouration of his teeth. "I don't do good cop. Spill anything else you have, and this ends. We call the cops, you confess to them, this ends. We go smash up this little gun smuggling ring. That ends." His voice came out low and soft. "Anything. Anything at all will help." Recent events hadn't made him soft. But maybe it was time to show some compassion sometimes. Maybe.

"Hi!" said the young man enthusiastically. "We're looking for Average Joe's? You don't know us, but we're friends of Sharl. Well, more like associates." "Yes, cast doubt on our good intentions," said the woman drily. "We were asking around about a certain matter, and he told us that the proprietor of Average Joe's could help us with an issue we're having." She looked significantly less confident than the young man about what they were doing. "What she said," chirped the man. "So... are we in the right place? Not sure, really. It's the directions he gave us, anyway." He shrugged. "So if it is, can we come in and talk?"

Geckoman stood now, alone in the street. Jean was on the roof, and he thought he could smell Steve's scent blowing down from it. Ellie and Erik were inside. Stesha and the Sword dude were... somewhere. And he was just stood there. "You're not very reassuring!" he called after Mara. "And we don't have coal! It's archaic!" He sighed. "Just not reassuring," he mumbled to himself.

Arrowhawk dropped into the alley, cape billowing around him like a great hawk's wings. "Hrm." He looked over his shoulder at Lawrence. "Well, we don't want weapons getting smuggled in. Either way, you're dishing out where and when so it doesn't happen." The archer snapped his head back to look at Errant. "But there'll also be no gutting, or ploughing a man's skull in with metal. There's not a line between a civil cuppa, and a length of metal. There's a great big bloody spectrum. Around the point you can smell urine, you need to stop snarling so the arseholes can tell you something."
-
"Alright," sighed Geckoman as Stesha and Nassor vanished. "Man, it's weird when you get reminders that people you know are just way out of your weight class." He turned to Mara, frowning. "Cards on the table, while the Espadases deal with the baby, and before someone does something horribly rash. Their father is on the roof. I don't know quite why, but... I think he wants to help. Even though they don't really want it. He was just keeping watch." Chris waved his hands in a placating manner. "And I'm worried it'll get... rash. The man is, having only just met him now, an absolute ass, but I'd really rather we don't drag him over the coals here, and I reckon you're best placed to convince Erik and Ellie not to do the dragging."

"Copied! Over and out, big D," said Geckoman smoothly, pivoting the ship down to skim feet away from the curvature of the World Killer, speeding towards the co-ordinates. "Ok, children, arm your weapons, and get ready to punch in some skulls, because I am landing this baby." He was standing now, feet glued to the floor and he wrested the controls hither and thither. A small bleep came from the control panel, and instantaneously, before it had time to fully register with anyone, he turned the ship upwards, and through a gravitational-induced rent in the World Killer. "Watch how I soar," whispered Geckoman as the ship burst through, tension slackening briefly from his shoulders before returning as he braced himself for whatever was inside. And for landing without hitting internal walls.

15th April 2005 "So are you sure this is the place?" said the young woman, looking skeptically at the building in front of them. It hardly seemed the place to go for a biology consult. Hell, it looked like an apartment building. The man beside her checked his email on his smartphone. "Yuuup. Sharl said it was here. Something about a fake front to the building" After they'd got in contact during the problem with the Communion, Geckoman and Sharl had stayed loosely in contact. Being a member of Young Freedom was, while really only a big deal during school, still a thing. They'd all presumably come running if one member sent out an SOS. Or help out if one came asking around. "You ready to go in?" Liz Lawlett sighed. "Well, we've tried a bunch of stuff, Kenzie. This'd hardly be the weirdest place we've asked about this. Come on." She strode on into the gym, long black coat whipping around her ankles as she went. Chris hurried after her, until they hit the door. "How do we get in?" "I don't know, you know the weird digital guy." "He's not that weird! Ummmm." Geckoman reached out and pressed a buzzer down for a few seconds. Then the one below it. Then another below that. "Hit the buttons until someone answers?"

Galvanic pulled a pipe out of the rubble, and knelt down beside Star Khan's prone form. She glanced up at Paradigm and Rock as they spoke on the communicator. "Precautions," she explained, as she flipped him onto his front and tugged his hands behind him. She laid the pipe underneath them, and easily twisted and knotted it with a screech of heaving metal. She tied the warped, bent metal into a tight knot around his hands. The Communion's enhancements had given him massive strength, and it wouldn't hold him for long, but hopefully his wounded state would slow him if he reawakened.

Galvanic Incursion: Merciless Geckoman: Ref pp, rollover posts and Ref pp to Galvanic Incursion: Mia Incursion: red Five
-
A sudden hiss of motion shot past, the rebar falling to the ground with a thudding clatter that echoed throughout the alleyway. An arrow bounced off the wall and landed on the ground. Roof slates grinded as a presence on a nearby roof suddenly made itself felt, allowing its boots to make a sound once more. A gravelly throat cleared itself as red eyes emerged from the gloom, balefully looming down over the two figures below. "Well, well, well," drawled the voice behind it, low and raspy. A thick Scots accent slurred the words slightly. "Whatever do we have here?" The black shape raised a large compound bow upwards, an arrow nocked and ready to go. "Let's be reasonable men."
-
Geckoman blurred into motion, seat swivelling immediately into a forward facing position, fingers methodically and rapidly hammering to and fro across instrumentation and controls. "Confirmed, Captain. Moving in," he said in a calm, even voice. The ship began to accelerate forward faster and faster, a sharp yet smooth and even increase in velocity. "I'd advise you all sit down and strap in, there might be some turbulence as we enter the gravity disturbances." He began to steer 'upwards', moving towards the 'top' of the sphere. Arbitrary though top and bottom were in space, Argonaut had a sound point. And even if wrong, hey, entering from the top wasn't going to make their chances worse. He was interrupted from his brief reverie by the ship shaking and shuddering. "Ok, we're about to hit gravity wells and debris. So, really... hang on!" Geckoman slammed the throttle to the max, clearing out of the gravity well on sheer momentum. He flung the ship side on, spiralling tight through debris and rock. The young superhero did all this seemingly without caring. His expression was neutral, neither panicked not excited. If anything, it looked... bored. The Pegasus contorted and spun and danced through space, not getting close enough to gravity disturbances to be damaged by them, skimming close to shards of metal and glass without ever touching them, looping around small asteroids, charting a course to never be near larger ones. He flew the ship up and up, seemingly out of the plane of battle... and then plummeted in a 'dive', careening towards the Worldkiller in a swift motion, ship twisted to present as small a target as possible. "Stand by for entry, we're approaching," said Geckoman, voice tight and controlled. "Let's rock and roll, people." He somehow managed to coax an extra burst of speed out of the spacecraft, hurling it towards the World Killer.

"Hey, you're getting thrown to the dogs? How's this look for me?" protested Chris. "I'm not coming out of here without at least a seriously clipped ear." He rolled his eyes. "Right. Let's resolve this before someone gets impaled." Meanwhile, Liz had produced a thin metallic object covered in knobs and dials from her pocket. "If anyone gets in," she informed Mara and Ellie. "I'll send them right back out the window again. Ain't that right, Yolanda?" A grim expression was set on the young woman's face. "Go solve... whatever the hell is going on. Maybe next time we have a normal domestic situation where nobody gets impaled." Chris leapt off the rooftop and landed in the street in a crouch. He came up slowly, bones aching from the sudden impact, a finger pointed at the House of Swords swordsman. "Right. You. I'd explain what's going on pretty quick, because it's about to get domestic." He quickly glanced back at the rooftop, to check if Jean was coming down or running away.

"Ok, so, don't look at the fireball and run like crap. Gotcha," muttered Geckoman. He hammered quickly at some keys to accept the transmission, hitting a touchscreen to his left to bring the sent data up on it. "Anyway, Time Dude. This thing travels fast, so as soon as we get the go signal, we are not going to have much time. Basically, there will be a slight delay, but just assume we're go go go from the second they open this thing up. Hell, assume we're go go go as of now." He spun in his chair to enlarge the image shown on the screen. "Right. Schematic. See the bits that are coloured more brightly? These are the target sites. We find these, and blow them the hell up. If you've got the kit for it, get a copy of this up in there. I think there's wireless and USB options, very fancy. When they say get out, aim for the ship and aim fast. If you can't get there, get to another Pegasus. If you can survive in vacuum, if you have to, just get outside and get heading spacewards, worst case scenario, you'll have to hang tight until we get you. Now, anyone want to pick what segment of this bit ol' dartboard to aim for first, and if anyone says bullseye, you..." Geckoman shook his fist. "Well, you aim for the triple 20, we want the smart choice, we don't want the obvious choice."

Galvanic took the opportunity, swooping low to the ground behind Rock as he barrelled forwards. Waiting for an opening, she immediately shot upwards and above Star Khan as he dodged Rock's charge. She pitied the man, almost. He hadn't asked for the Communion to do this to him, no matter how bad a person he might have been before. "Mercy is strength, Star Khan," she said calmly. She lifted one fist above her head, sparks flying from within her grasp as her knuckles popped. And Galvanic surged downwards, bringing both of her fists together as she went. She hit Star Khan full force in the chest, combining her momentum, immense physical might and high voltage supplementation as her hands detonated in a small explosion, the smell of ozone and burning filling the air as sparks flew and a mighty krakoom boomed from where she'd impacted him. The blow drove Star Khan down hard, the floor splintering and cracking beneath him. Shards from it flew up, rebounding harmlessly an inch from Galvanic's skin. She raised her hands once again to deliver another blow, but Star Khan just lay unmoving beneath her. The Tempestian lowered herself to the floor, still wary of their resilient opponent. She prodded his side with one boot. No response. "He's down," reported Galvanic, leaning back against the nearest wall, wiping sweat away from her brow. "Over now."

Move Action: Fly above Star Khan. Standard Action: All-out Attack for 5, Power Attack for 3 with her electrical Strike. Do you notice a trend? With the aid, that's a net -5 Defence, +4 to hit, DC32 Toughness save. That's a... 31, which is a critical hit. So the DC pops up to a DC37 Toughness save, with his -5 Bruise penalty. FACEPUNCH. If she can knockback, she'll do that as well.

Galvanic surged across the room, sparks trailing as she ploughed in. Both hands stretched ahead of her, reaching down to snatch at Star Khan, aiming to pin him down once and for all. But her clumsy swiping was easily dodged by the much more experienced warrior, leaving her spinning head over foot briefly in mid-air to compensate for the momentum lost. The Tempestian briefly scowled in frustration, before whirling back to face Star Khan.

Ok. Firstly, Galvanic only has 2HP, not 3. She's going to fly up to him as a Move action, then try to Grapple him, All-Out Attacking for 5 as she does so. Roll to hit: 1d20+12 : 20 Well, nope. -5 Defence, 2HP, expecting punch

Also, if we didn't want them used, we wouldn't post them! :D

"Well." Chris nodded dumbly. "We are not as sneaky as we thought. Well." He turned to look at Jean. "Well, he looks like he's surrendered to Flower Girl, so. Could be worse?" The Geckoman shrugged. "Should we head down to the street? I mean, your goose is cooked anyway. I'll merrily lie my ass off about anyone being here. She probably won't. And she's prolly phoning them to tell them people are up here anyway. You're kinda busted."

Chris pinched his nose. Egads, but this man was egotistical. "Not seen him coming? Oh man, you're just..." He sighed and shook his head. "Man, you do not take us seriously in the slightest, do you? Because I reckon we'd detect him. And if they came to attack, we keep beating them." The Geckoman straightened up, a grin forming on his face. "But no, we don't know why that guy is here, and you're feeling a little smug about that because it might mean you can contribute where the Interceptors failed. But you're just saying things Sword Dude isn't here to do." He put a hand over his mouth to cover the snickers. "I asked you why he's here because I dunno, I genuinely dunno. But you're too proud to admit you don't know either!" A short belly laugh escaped from behind Chris's hand. "Oh god, now I know you're definitely Erik's dad."

"No killing!" shouted Galvanic. Clearly the man Star Khan had been was fighting what the Communion had turned him into. But that didn't mean they should kill him. They could fix him. Figure out how to get someone out of the Communion's clutches. "Stop! Will fix this!" She extended one hand out, sparks rippling from it and coruscating out to bounce across and along and through the floor and walls, ripping back out of them again. The Tempestian stopped projecting lightning, sweat beading on her forehead. As she ceased, the lightning ripped out of the conductive outlets in the room, spiralling into one semi-coherent blast of lightning, heading straight towards Star Khan's chest.

"Oh, I'm keeping up. Hence why I was the one to say he'd not like it before you did. Try not to be a smartass, anciano." Chris didn't bother moving as Jean paced, just languidly keeping his eyes fixed on him. He was fairly confident Erik's father was a very skilled and dangerous combatant, regardless of his efforts to present as not being here to fight. He was even more confident that he was pretty dangerous himself. "If he's not attacking, why is he here? He's not a friend. He's not family. He's not particularly welcome. Would he be burdened with some weird notion that he's any one of those three things?" Chris shrugged his shoulders. "Thinks if he keeps an eye out we might let the Swords within a hundred yards of this building?"
