  2. Equinox gestured to the coffin as Nick appeared. "I'm going to defer to you on this one, I can do life, I vaguely understand death, but where they intersect is more your area." She glanced down at the prone form in the coffin. "This was in the centre of the lake. I managed to move it using magic, and deposit on the lakeside without any noticeable disturbances in the local magic flow." She frowned at Nick. "One possibility for what's going on was the old shamanic tradition of... let's call it Obi-Wanning. When you willing to die to allow your life energy to amplify the local area's background magic for one reason or another. No idea how you'd do it, or if this is what's being done, but I thought it a plausible idea. Thoughts?"
  3. Geckoman yanked the wheelchair upright, and then slid himself into it with a contented sigh. "What am I doing?" He popped a couple of wheelies, and spun it around in a tight circle. "Oooh! I like this. Very awesome. Don't even need to use my legs!" He waggled lycra-clad legs at Doc Tonic, just to prove he could. He turned to squarely face the mad doctor. "Simple. What I'm doing is negating any speed advantage. You're wounded, I'm dog tired, and you seem set on running. Feel free to stop." Geckoman reclined back in the chair, arms behind his head. "Or not, it's not like if you keep running I won't catch you. Got a chair." He inclined his head at one of the wheels.
  4. Move Action: Get into the wheelchair Standard Action: Taunt Doc Tonic. Skill Mastery, 31. I think he's got a few +1s to resist it by now, if I'm not mistaken. Either way, I figure if he runs, got wheelchair, if he attacks, got -2 to hit.
  5. DC20 Toughness save (1d20+14=24)
  6. Going to fly up and tackle one of the free-floating pirates, with an eye to getting him down to activate his mag-clamps. Free Action: Reassign Dynamic Array to Flight 2/Super-Strength 5, for a total of Flight 3 and Super-Strength 6 Move Action: Fly at the nearest pirate floating in the cargo area. Standard Action: PUNCH! If he's a minion, take 10 for a attack roll of 17. If not. Attack roll on space pirate (1d20+7=10) DC is 28 either way, yet I find myself hoping for a Minion... Free Action: Use Improved Grab to grapple the guy. Grapple roll on space pirate (1d20+26=46)
  7. Galvanic moved through the entry hole she'd punched, surveying the cargo hold. The pressure was holding, and some of the crew had managed to activate their clamps, preventing them from free-floating out into space. But some had not, and while they were pirates, she was not. That didn't mean, however, she was going to let them off lightly. She blurred towards the nearest pirate as he floated, summoning the reserves of might in her muscles as she swung a fist towards his gut, careful not to shatter the faceplate of his visor or punch so hard as to damage his internal organs. The Tempestian then used her momentum and the stun inflicted by her sudden blow to grasp at the criminal firmly, to stop him from being spaced.
  8. "Well, my baby's not here right now," said Geckoman, looking mournful. "Shame. But if it comes up, I can usually fly or drive stuff, with a minimum of the crashing and catching fire and dying." He held up his hands, checking off fingers. "Anyway, yeah, punching, healing, wall crawlin', and also reflexes, a couple of gadgets, and a big stick. Y'know, the classics. Nothing like the," he waved a hand wildly vaguely in Temperance's direction, "control over primal forces, but y'know, I can track people like a dog hunting bunnies."
  9. "Not today," said Galvanic, and vanished from the passenger bay in a sudden streak of electric blue light, displaced air cracking behind her form. Almost immediately, on the viewscreen, a white blue blur was seen streaking through space. It rocketed at amazing speed towards the huge pirate ship, looping around towards the cargo bay doors. It coagulated there, leaving the Tempestian corporeal. Around her, a nimbus of energy shimmered, stalling the cold and pressure of space even as it used the background radiation in conjunction with her innate abilities, replacing her need for oxygen by stoking her internal battery. She drew back slightly, grasping both fists together, and spinning around full circle. She let her weightless surroundings carry her towards the door even as she delivered a resounding hammer blow of a punch, aiming to punch the doors right open.
  10. Alright. So, she's in her electric form already, so with her Dynamic Array not reallocated, she's at Flight 10. Free Action: Switch Force Field array to Immunity, and turn it on so space doesn't suffocate and freeze her. Move Action: Fly at 10,000 MPH through open space. WOOOOOOSH Free Action: Deactivate Insubstantial 3. Flight remains active, which is fine given no one's in FTL! Standard Action: Punch the cargo hold doors. Full force. All-out Power Attack for 5. DC33 Toughness save on the cargo doors (1d20+7=19) End of turn status: 24 - Galvanic; 2 HP, unharmed, -5 Defence Array slots active: Flight&Space Travel, max DAP Flight, Immunity. Ergo Flight 10, Super-Strength 1, Toughness +14 [no Impervious]
  11. Initiative (1d20+4=24)
  12. Galvanic shrugged. "Once in ship, can overpower crew and get into main reactor. Damage couplings, overload fuelpower, incapacitate engineers..." She trailed off. "Outnumbered. Fairstraight fight is awful idea, one ship not ideal but showy gesture likely more successful than straight fight." She glanced at Mechanized. "Can we contact Aphelion? Could make flyby with open cargo holds, gain entry?" The Tempestian glanced at a viewscreen. "Merchant ships have large cargo holds, makes safe landing possible, if risky."
  13. "Good," said Geckoman slowly. "She got out then." He sat down in his chair, swivelling sadly to and fro. "A giant space cannon. Woah. Right." He spun around again, quickly typing on one of several keypads. "I'm not on Interceptors base right now, but if you just let me do some..." He called up another call interface, on the screen next to Sharl's. Weird interlocking gears appeared on the edges of each screen. "Aaaaaaand dialing VINCE. He's not in my systems, but we can get him in on a conference call and you'll be able to send everything to Interceptors base. He can also alert them there until I can get some gear and get over there." He slid back in his chair and leaned towards the workshop. "Sweetie, can you prepare the armoured suit? Thaaaanks!"
  14. Galvanic scowled at the revelation they'd already found the pirates. She was not a fan of opportunistic scavengers. She quickly turned to nod curtly at her fellow passengers, then spread her arms wide and turned into pure electromagnetic energy, in a crack of ozone and -burst of blue lightning. She stood, a flickering blue approximation of Chlo'zel's solid form, hovering inches from the floor. "Going to enterboard enemy ship. Disable reactor, leave without fuelpower to be dealt with." She smiled brightly somehow, a white slash in an electric face.
  15. "What." Geckoman was speechless. Lor-Van... gone? How... what... "That's... c'mon, who's... most things aren't that powerful, even the Gorgon was only putting planets into stasis, not annihilating them. You can't just... you can't just destroy planets!" His mind raced back and forth and up and down inside his skull. What. What. "Alright," he said, pinching his nose and leaning over the console. "I need to know two things. How sure are you that she got out alive? Is she safe? And... you said she was warning us. Are you saying that this thing is heading to Earth? And if that's what you're saying, which I reee-EEEEEEEE-ally hope you're not. What do we do?"
  16. Galvanic burst into motion as the captain announced their approach. "Oh. Getting preparedready." She didn't have to do much, simply leaning down to tighten the tops of her boots, and check the fastenings on her tailcoat. She glanced up at the two women. "For tactical purposes, genemutant Tempestian." She held out her palm, letting a small flicker of lightning crackle between her fingertips. "Usual racial capabilities, absorb and redirect electricity. Also, genemutant abilities, possess ability to fly, and greatenhanced durability and physical strength." Galvanic glanced down again, checking her uniform wasn't loose and liable to hinder her in combat or flight. "Lack great skill, graceforgive, but level of physical capability compensates." She stood up, and crossed her arms. "Ready," she said simply, confident in her abilities to carry the day without complex equipment or preparation.
  17. Sharl waited a moment as the phone rang, then heard some fumbling on the other end of the line. Geckoman sat at the large desk in front of his computer in the Arborealair. He'd slotted his phone into the terminal as it rang, interfacing with the circuitry to form a voice interface. He spun in his chair as the connection opened up along the interface. One one of the multiple screens, a plain navy screen appeared, with a white line along the centre oscillating along with callers' speech. The number dialled from appeared at the bottom in large red letters in a traditional digital font. Weird. He wasn't entirely familiar with this number or the voice. "This is Geckoman, hi. Sorry, this isn't a number a lot of people have, you know how it is, can't have everyone ringing up? How'd you get a hold of it?" He paused and shook his head rapidly. "Sorry, wrong question. Who's this, and what's the issue?"
  18. Galvanic nodded. "At the least we can aidachieve in some way..." She turned to look at the hull, pondering the vastness of space outside of it. "Pirates? At a time like this, the worstlowest." She gave a small, rueful smile. "We need to shieldprotect what's left." She turned to the two women. "Do we know our time of arrival?" The Tempestian quickly jerked her head towards the cockpit. "Not a friendally of the captain, didn't feel it my place to disturb."
  19. Geckoman effortlessly bent straight backwards, head nearly touching the floor as the wheelchair soared over his head. With a wrench, he snapped back upright, cursing the muscle memory which had made him do such a painful maneuver. "Your aim's a little off," he sneered, backing a few paces off. If he could get that wheelchair, he'd have his speed advantage back a little, and this'd be so much easier. So... much... easier. He took a couple more steps. "You think you're going to get peace to work. Look at the backup I phoned in. They're surrounding the place. They'll be here soon. This is futile."
  20. DC22 Reflex save (1d20+11=12) Nooooope. Use Skill Mastery to Bluff about going for it (that's a 31!), while backing towards the wheelchair a little.
  21. A door whooshed, and a short blue woman strolled into the passenger area. She wore a golden coat with long tails, buttoned tight across her chest and with the collar pulled around her neck. Big clumpy orange boots of a strange sort of leather clumped on the floor. Chlo'zel Elzak looked over at the two women looking over some kind of portable computer interface. They were also speaking a language she'd never heard of before. "Hi, people givename me Galvanic," she said tentatively, in accented Lor. The Tempestian smiled a wide grin, little flickers of blue sparks faintly visible in her teeth. "Chlo'zel Elzak is familyname, though." She looked down at the screen. "Unfamiliar with your language, forgivegrace." The woman gestured at the door, and frowned. "Is shipcaptain..." She struggled with the words, not out of using a non-native tongue, but from not knowing how to put words on the grief the captain must feel right now. "Is she alright on her selfalone?"
  22. I'll use my two move actions to move 100' towards the hospital after Tonic. Geckoman is keeping an eye out for any wheelchairs...
  23. Geckoman sighed and rolled his shoulders. "Again with the running!" He forced himself forwards, muscles and bone too tired or too overtaxed to move into a sprint. But he was already quick on his feet, and though absolutely exhausted, could still get a level of speed normal human athletes would be pressed to maintain. "Get back here! Now!" he shouted, half-running, half-jogging, half-limping (wait, too many halves?) towards the hospital, keeping an eye out for an item he thought he could use. Something to even the odds in this chase.
  24. "Well, water diffracts light, so if they're actual light, instead of something similarly lasery, I imagine it'd stop a shot?" Geckoman shrugged his shoulders. "If that fails, maybe fall back on ice? Dunno, not a scientist. I tend to just try and dodge the bullet, I figure it's easier for everyone involved." He leaned forward and stroked his chin. "Dunno about spirit stuff, though. Not a magician, either. Way I see it, though, why would Earth be the only place to have boogity? Aliens have got guns, armour, greed, politics, families, no reason there's not woogity as well."
