  1. Initiative (1d20+9=23) Speed Racer, he's a demon on wheels?
  2. "I'd go for augmenting the hazmat suit with a titanium-carbon compound of some sort, for lightweight protection," mused Arrowhawk. "Problem is, I could probably still shoot you in the eyes, since you can't armour them as effectively, and you'd still be vulnerable to explosives and netting, both of which are entirely possible." The archer prowled further, until he was nearly behind the young woman. "As for avoiding accidental confrontations, I'd advise one of two things. Firstly, know the local capes. It's quicker and easier when you know who's playing on... the same team." He spat the last few words as if there was a nasty taste in his mouth. "Or secondly, don't be so conspicuous with your van."
  3. Move Action: Fast Feint at a -5 penalty against one of the Willowette's by riverdancing, getting an easy 27. Standard Action: Charge attack! Power Attack for 5, leading to a net -3 Attack, +5 DC and -2 Defence. DC23 Toughness save, upped to 25 if the Willowette failed vs feint due to flat-footedness (1d20+12=28)
  4. "Oh, blah, blah, blah," scowled Geckoman. "Shut up," he said, pointing at Jack. "Shut up." Pointing at Willow. "And definitely shut up." He waved a dismissive hand at the Willowettes as they sprouted nearby. "Darlin', the only thing this stupid 'oooh, will not abide interference' and 'my intentions aren't malicious' schitck is accomplishing is making me reticent to punch you in the skull. Because you're clearly nutty as a fruitcake!" As he shouted the last sentence, he burst into a brief riverdance and spun on one foot, somehow going from the jaunty dance move, to having crossed a hundred feet in a flying kick towards a Willowette's face.
  5. Free Action: Drop Concealment. Move Action: Maintain Impervious Toughness: So, I got 31. It's still up. Free Action: Switch Blast descriptor to 'cold'. Standard Action: Power Attacking for 2, let's make things go freeze. Yay, DC 33 freezing blast! It's frostbite time!
  6. Equinox reached out for a second with her will, and contemptuously swatting the blast headed towards her to the side with her defensive wards, and casually let the veiling magic around her slide away, her shields bursting into white light as she set her feet squarely on the floor, pouring her will and anger into the sword until the cold fury snuffed out the flames. "You know what?" she growled, taking a light step forward and pirouetting on the spot. "Drosisteíte!" called the witch as her front foot again came down, arm leveled flat at the first Grue Arcane's chest, the air between them freezing into mist and vapour as the blast of concentrated cold powered forwards. The spell slammed into the Grue's mid-section with such force icy shards exploded around it in a fine mist, driving the stricken alien's legs from beneath it so it slammed face first onto the floor, cold blue tendrils of magic wafting from Siobhan's sword like smoke from a gun barrel.
  7. Not going to be around for a few days while I get re-adjusted to being back at university.
  8. "Worship you?" said Equinox quietly. "I have a Goddess. And a God. And you may think you have me beaten, but I have faith." She grinned broadly, not even bothering to fight the bonds, letting the magic in her recede backwards, dropping her defensive spells and enchantments and leaning into the leafy embrace of the vines. "You won't bend me, and you'll only break yourself." She closed her blank, unseeing eyes calmly. "Just remember, I would not have been blind had I not had compassion for my familiar. And you mistake that for a weakness. It's a weapon. And it's one you don't have. So bring on your guards. I don't fear them."
  9. (02:26:39) Ecalsneerg: Dammit, IC is still down (02:26:49) Ecalsneerg: DC10 Recovery check for the damn raccoon, adding +1 (02:26:51) System: Ecalsneerg rolls 1d20 and gets 2. (02:26:55) Ecalsneerg: ... yay! I'll be honest, I want to see where you're going to go with the guard thing. So I'm not burning a HP.
  10. Equinox just smiled and shook her head at the joke. "Well, she isn't fussy. Nuts, berries. Chocolate biscuits. She'll eat pretty much anything." She frowned. "Apart from that incident with the soup. That's never happening again. She strode ahead of the octopus dude, coat billowing out slightly behind her as she marched with her long legs. "And no bookstores. I've got enough books. Hell, I don't even have enough shelves anymore. I've got a coffee table made entirely of a cloth and old hardbacks."
  11. "So," sighed Geckoman, looking up at his erstwhile team mate. "So... to round things up here, we've got a crazy-ass girlfriend." He nodded at Jack curtly, a grin playing across his lips. "Some being with a metric ton of power and some urge to enforce their ideals upon us 'mere mortals'." e gazed up at the plant-covered buildings, shaking his head sadly. "And finally, a team mate of mine who's not in their right mind and playing for the wrong team." He looked straight at Willow, and laughed, a rolling belly laugh which seemed to come from the soles of his feet. "Darling," he drawled. "That's, to me, a load of unoriginal tripe. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. No one else got t-shirts, because only I was willing to chip in for the printers. So, that leaves the option of you being scary." He took a deep breath. "I've fought demons, reality warpers, supervillains, the woman whose bed I sleep with, and I've met her father. So forgive me for saying you're not even on the top ten list of things I've beat up and walked away from." He set his shoulders, entire body tensed to fight. "Back off, you spooky bitch."
  12. Initiative? (02:53:23) System: Ecalsneerg rolls 1d20 and gets 17. Add on 11, and he gets 28.
  13. Equinox levelled her sword, focusing her will into the tip of it, as the fires began to stoke and blaze up and up. She drew it up over her head, as if to swipe it down in a wide arc, and promptly did so, taking full advantage of Rene's invisibility spell by not shouting an incantation. Instead, the flames on her sword burst forwards in a solid lance of flame towards one of the tattooed Grue, the air around the blast igniting and the entire room jumping up in temperature about 5 degrees. The small inferno hit the monster square on in the chest in a shower of sparks and smoke... which dissipated to reveal an unharmed Grue.
  14. PYROKAGIUS! (18:47:57) Ecalsneerg: Power Attacking for 2, so it's rank 13, i.e. DC 28 (18:48:00) System: Ecalsneerg rolls 1d10 and gets 2. (18:48:07) Ecalsneerg: ... wait, that's a 1d10 (18:48:13) Ecalsneerg: (18:48:24) Ecalsneerg: Someone teach me how to the type 2 instead of 1! (18:48:27) System: Ecalsneerg rolls 1d20 and gets 15. +9 = 24 to hit, with a DC28 fire Blast on one of the Grue Arcane.
  15. Geckoman flinched as Willow disappeared and reappeared. "The wild heck was that?" he said, coming up to his feet on the nose of his airship. To see his team mate beginning to rip up sidewalk and building, however... "What?" he snapped, jumping down onto the street. "Willow, I really, really gotta ask you... is that productive to anything? Seriously, what the hell? We talked down the rioters, what are you even doing?" He tossed his beverage, forgotten, to the ground. "People need those buildings!"
  16. Initiative (1d20+1=18) Equinox is finally not slow as all hell!
  17. "Well, I'm really only here to pick up food from the pet store," sighed Siobhan. "The damn raccoon is eating me out of house and home. And server bills are a bit of a pain. Really, I can go browsing, but if you don't keep me away from bookstores, I'll end up living out of a cardboard box within the week." She pushed herself up from the bench and snapped her fingers sharply. In an instant, her t-shirt had billowed out into a long sleeved shirt and trenchcoat, her costume appearing clean out of mid-air. "I suppose hanging out with a giant octopus isn't exactly going to leave me inconspicuous for long, so why bother?"
  18. Geckoman sighed and put his head in his hands... well, hand. He never got this melodrama when he was working with a bunch of hormonal teenagers. Sighing, he reached his remaining hand up to hold down the commlink bud in his ear. "Geckoman to Colt, I am receiving. In my ear. Irritating my headache. Huh." He crouched down on his haunches. "Yeah, there's some tantrum slinging going on here, so I'll try to come help you soon as." He pulled away his finger and shrugged helplessly at Dok. "Sorry, but he's sort of got a bit of priority over you, because y'know... giant tentacle monster thing." He put his finger back in his ear. "Where are you, anyway? You got a flare gun or something? Because that'd be a dead giveaway."
  19. Equinox just smiled and rolled her sword in her hand. "I'm not particularly good with subtle magic, I can't disappear into the ground or mess with their heads." She grinned wider. "I'll take the position of 'walk up to them and set them on fire'. It's worked out for me so far, but if they're in the lab I'm going to have to limit how much I can throw down." She drew up her will in her left hand, causing a broad white plate of force to settle itself there, crackling and hissing gently as she let the gradual stream of artillery-stopping power come to bear.
  20. Geckoman, however, did not see his allies rushing away in pursuit of their adversary. Rather, he had somehow ended up in the middle of the floor, and had become somewhat extricated in a large circle pit. While craning and leaping trying to get a good look around the club, his efforts were somewhat futile. Gasping for air, he emerged near the bar, his mohawk somewhat dented by someone's arm slamming into his head. "Woah," he breathed, wiping the sweat from his brow. "... where is everyone?"
  21. I can see clearly now... (1d20+10=12) Gecks is too busy getting... funky.
  22. "Hmmm," pondered Siobhan, absent-mindedly drumming her fingers on her knees. "My theory is that you weren't exactly helping things practicing magic when you were deprived of his influence. But perhaps that's also what helped you keep your own mind against the Unspeakable One..." She shook her head. "Never going to be comfortable with it, frankly. It just smells... wrong... no offence." She looked up and met the teen's gaze. "But if you have any... side effects... come to me, I'll see what I can do."
  23. :approved:
  24. Alright, since any issues were less "we don't want this" and more "are you sure you're aware of this", I'll go with :approved: As with all divine-based PCs, I'd advise you to read about the Pact in Books of Magic, and possibly the main setting book (I'm not sure if it's in there, to be honest), but if you don't have BoM, someone in Chat will happily fill you in.
