  1. Happy birthday, old guy!
  2. Well, that's why it's at the end of my bucket list, not the start of it.
  3. You may judge me if you wish. But I will be the man who punched out a leopard.
  4. Well, I'd quite like to... [*:19nrrkt5]Drink Everclear [*:19nrrkt5]Go to Vegas [*:19nrrkt5]Go to Russia, and find a place which offers unused Soviet munitions to tourists so they can blow up cows. [*:19nrrkt5]Learn a foreign language, such as French [*:19nrrkt5]Go to France and drink wine and eat cheese. [*:19nrrkt5]Punch a dangerous predator in the face. Maybe a leopard. Guess I just want to travel :P
  5. Yeah, the +1 Moveable extra.
  6. Well, Continuous Create Object is an odd duck, in that unlike other Continuous powers, switching array slots doesn't get rid of the Created Objects. So we'd be a bit leery of it.
  7. Right, on the difference between magic and mystic... frankly, there isn't one. Like psychic/psionic, they're essentially the exact same thing when it comes to Immunities, Nullifies, Drains and Boosts. However, a common terminology thing out of character is the difference between mystics and people with the magic descriptor. The Mystic archetype, as given in the books, is a straight-up spellcaster, like Doctor Strange or Harry Dresden. The magic descriptor, however, isn't so much an archetype as a power descriptor. For example, the "SHAZAM!" Captain Marvel has the magic descriptor, but isn't a mystic (i.e. not a mage)
  8. Hell, it's also very dated stereotypes, when it comes down to it. It's more like a Japanese hero gaining powers from the Spirit of Dancing Robots. That was ten years ago. It's not even a current stereotype.
  9. Unless there's any objections, HP for Equinox's Public Identity complication.
  10. The sheriff's office was a dingy little building of old, faded red brick. Ivy snaked up and covered a window, which in turn was also apparently coated in a fine layer of dust. An old, rusty iron fence surrounded the little building, with a small slightly overgrown lawn behind it. The path was made up of cracked, well-worn paving slabs leading up to a chipped and flaking green door. Siobhan turned to her compatriots, and suddenly looked rueful. "Right, major problem. I can't actually go in if we want to keep a low profile. We can probably rely on the average townsperson not knowing who I am. But a sheriff... I'm not taking that chance. I'm really sorry." She shrugged apologetically, nearly dislodging an irate Hayley. "Sorry, fuzzball. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out here. If anything suspicious happens, I can watch it, and if anything big and nasty shows up, I can send the furball to grab you for back-up while I try to blow it up."
  11. My parents are DEEEAAAF! (DC23 Fort to stop being deaf) (1d20+6=24)
  12. Equinox gritted her teeth. Blind, deaf, unable to feel magic around her, she felt near-helpless. But near-helpless for her was still incredibly dangerous by any standard. Letting out a primal scream of rage, she slammed forward blindly, catching the flailing faerie around the waist, and even as exhaustion began to overtake her mind and body, she drew up all her frustration and anger, and let it crackle and roar into the environment, the thunderous blast of lightning coursing up and around the two women once more, turning the floor black in a concentrated ring. This time, the blast nearly overloaded Equinox's magical protection, sending agony spiking into her skull and casting her backwards from the sheer kinetic force of her spell. She unceremoniously felt herself crash into the floor, barely able to move, lips moving as she frantically tried to sustain her spells.
  13. Right, screw this fairy bitch. Burn one of those 2 HP to go to Fatigued, not Exhausted. Then slap down a lightning strike again. Sure, it's back to rank 11, but Rule of Drama. Let's lightning bolt a bitch. All-out Attacking for 2... Lightning. Because when Ecal reads a lot of White Night, Siobhan goes all Elaine Mallory on people's asses. DC 26 lightning bolt. (1d20+8=15) Eat that, bitch. Self-harming with lightning is a terrible thing. (1d20+10=19) So, Bruised a second time, then Stunned, so she falls on her ass. DC21 concentration to keep up her Force Field (1d20+16=34) Her force field'd ass.
  14. Right, Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free. From Microsoft. But hear me out... it's actually pretty good for it. I've had no computer problems since installing it. It's quiet. It sits in the background. It updates alongside Windows, unobtrusively. And Sorus pointed me to it, and he runs the site, so if you don't trust him... :P
  15. Initiative? What? I can't hear you! (1d20-3=14)
  16. Equinox, with some relish, slid her arms around the Faerie Queen, holding herself close so their faces were touching, forehead to forehead, lips only a few centimetres apart. "Thank you, my Queen," she said, smirking gently as her eyes slid open, the complete blankness of them disconcerting. "But you're wrong, I'm afraid. I don't use the wand to cast spells, so much as focus them. Without it, I've got the exact same level of power... just nowhere near as much control. For example..." Her hands suddenly gripped the Queen's body tightly. "Kaléste tin kataigída," she hissed. And electricity arced around them, the lightning bolt crashing up from around the feet of the two women. Ozone burned, leaving a sizzling, scorching smell even as stray arcs of lightning burned and tore at the witch's flesh, the KRAKOOOOOM of the blast deafening her until she couldn't even hear her own cry of pain. But she didn't let go, fully intending to harm this damn child snatcher, throwing every trace of power and rage she had in her into one destructive, terrifying display of magical might, casting brilliant white-blue light through the room as the thunder and lightning rippled in one brief column of fury.
  17. Alright. Again, Siobhan has 3HP, yet is not Fatigued as I cleared that. But she's going to Extraordinary Effort: Firstly, stunt up this off her magic array: Strike 11 Linked to Dazzle 11 (Visual and Auditory, Flaws: Range - Touch [-1]) [Flaws] [-2]] (11PP) (Apparently Side Effect uses Blast, not the base Damage effect. I'm not sure why, other than to avoid easily hitting Strike 20+ and getting one-hit KOed) Then, with the second EE given by Extraordinary Effort, up the ranks by 2 to 13. So the Queen is hit by a DC 28 Toughness Strike and then a DC23 Reflex to avoid being blinded and deafened. Equinox is also hit with a DC28 Toughness save, and a DC23 Reflex save to avoid being Dazzled. Stupid roll to hit... I'll All-out Attack for 2, since she is sort of leaving herself open to a punch in the face here. (1d20+13=30) Boom. Equinox's saves... Toughness save, followed by Reflex save vs Dazzle (1d20+11=17, 1d20+6=9) Well, yeouch. I'll spend one of my 3 HP to re-roll that Toughness result... Lightning hurts. (1d20+11=16) Ouch. Add 10 for being a roll of 5, and she gets 26. She's Bruised from her own lightning, and is currently deaf as well as blind.
  18. Siobhan Drake, a.k.a. Equinox, isn't quite a student there. She's a theology doctoral student teaching basic classes in Divinity and Theology. My other PC, Geckoman (Chris Kenzie), is in his second year (Sophomore? Goddamn American terms), but I'm not really up to wacky college antics, as he's there are a logical progression of what he's doing, not because I in any way like the sound of American colleges :P
  19. Right, a few things on divinity in the setting you'll probably need to account for: 1. Being divine doesn't inherently mean you're magical, they're two separate descriptors, albeit ones which get thrown around a lot in the same environments. For example, Ares is as powerful and strong as he is due to the 'divine' descriptor, not the 'magic' descriptor. 2. Being divine doesn't mean your abilities are necessarily natural rather than Enhanced. Gods lose their powers all the time, both in mythology, and comics... but when you get down to it, they don't tend to much in threads here. So what you're doing is taking a potentially large power you can power stunt off of, and... not having it. 3. The Pact. You can't have mortals-ascended-to-godhood able to alter reality at the peak of their power, as the only possible way for deities to interact with mortal affairs is when the mortals explicitly invite them in to do it. It's also part of why the big setting-important gods are Horus and Siren, the former bound to mortal body Thor-style, and the latter a deity riding shotgun in a mortal body... which is actually how voudoun works, but it's also part of how most deities interact with the world in-setting, so it works out pretty well. Also, as I touched on, All Myths Are True. Ergo, there are loads of other gods running around who might not particularly enjoy one pantheon getting the reality warping rights. Specifically, the major players of the Greek pantheon, Norse gods, and the Loa. 4. You need to specify a sense type (i.e. visual, olfactory, mental, etc) for your magic sense, and also need to specify if it's Magical Awareness or Detect Magic. Not actually related to divinity, but it was bugging me.
  20. Hey, if they base the Civil War sourcebook off the video game, not the comic, no complaints here. The video game had a much better version of events.
  21. I don't know if it is entirely wonky to just be "who Redbird likes". I mean, I'm hazy on how they interact with Permanent/equipment structures, but feat use is optional, so wouldn't that apply to the Restricted feat? This isn't a definite answer so much as "Someone with a better idea explain why I'm wrong" :P
  22. In middle of examinations, so won't be around very much.
  23. Oh, dear god, what the hell is with all the stabbing?! Stop with the stabbing! Stabstabstabstab, it's like all you people think about! I'm being less aggressive, and I've got an arm off! 'tisn't just a flesh wound! Geckoman flicked a small, bleeping green object backhand, the little object clipping to the raging deity's armour. "I guess, I'll.... uh..." he began, fiddling with the Pitchoo's remote. "Follow along, I guess? Try and stop the ludicrous impalement fixation..."
  24. Geckoman snarled as the wound sizzled shut. "Dammit, that hurts! But, hey, I'm not dying, so... good good? "Woah, woah, woah, no cutting out of hearts. We're superheroes here, not... actually, I don't know who cuts out heart anymore? Weirdos who live alone and sharpen spoons? And they just don't know how hard it is to get blood out of things..." Geckoman gibbered, trying to calm Willow down in his own bizarre fashion. "There's four of us, and we're alive. Minus one arm, but give me a few hours, and I'll be right as rain. Well, I hope. I've never lost such a big chunk, I don't know if I'll recover properly." He looked pensive for a brief moment, sighing heavily. "But we need to find that fish and kick his flippers up between his ears."
  25. I can actually see it working really, really well. I mean, with fire controlling mutants running around, why can't someone be all delusional and claim their mutant superpower is in fact magic? Centurion was absurdly powerful and beat up the personification of Entropy, why couldn't gods just be incredibly powerful superhumans?
