  1. Watchdog will spend one of her HP to shake Judy's fatigue, and stand ready to interpose for her if she needs to.
  2. The hammer flew by Watchdog so close that the wind of its passage knocked her breathless. Cursing, she snapped a grenade from her belt and hurled it at Donar. This one didn't bounce off - it hit the Nazi storm god directly in the face and exploded, seeming to do him no particular harm as he stormed towards the Secret Service agent and her escort. Watchdog turned, ready to tell Judy what she'd always planned to tell her in this situation - RUN - but the Daystar had other plans. Judy glowed a brilliant white, eyes, skin, and hair all halogen fire as she faced down the rampaging godling. When she screamed, the air burned with her words, and when she fired energy from her outstretched hands it seared the air like a lightning strike. "FALSE GOD! THIS ISN'T YOUR HOUSE!"
  3. Miss Grue recognized the death chant of the Deep Ones - she'd heard Aquaria sing it before. It was about how one fought all one's life against the forces of the enemy, and how at the end one was devoured by the Gods Below to sustain them, and what fate could be greater than that? They were still struggling against Octoman's grip, but seemed to have little chance of success. Theodora writhed and spat, her body pulling against Heroditus's restraints with such force she was surely spraining something - but he braved the transformation just as she was braving it. He watched colors play over her skin, arcane glyphs writhing out and vanishing into the churning water like tattoos being run in reverse, her eyes transforming into Atlantean shapes and colors, then back again, flesh warping and bucking - and then suddenly, from everywhere, a great cloud of ink erupting from her skin like a startled octopus that briefly hid her from sight, sound, and smell... Sea Devil jetted up the temple steps and without preamble stabbed the Atlantean general in the back. "MURDERER!" she bellowed as she felt her trident points sink deep, through the joins in his armor. She pulled the blow at the last minute, thinking of Jessie and the Surface and her life there, but spun Dalekos over her head to smash him bodily into the ground head-first, dividing him from the Harbinger and taking her own stand by the cultist's side. For a moment, together, Dagon and Hydra's champions stood united against the Atlantean threat. As Dalekos pulled himself to his feet, surrounded by those of his men who could still swim, she pointed her trident at him, acutely aware of the scent of Deep One and Atlantean blood mixing together in the water. "You think you can kill spawn where I could hear it happen and take no penalty for the deed!?!"
  4. Saves: https://orokos.com/roll/786770 = 26! Your nat-20 was well-timed, sir. New round! I still don't have any interest in writing NPCs in combat with each other mechanically, so we'll write Dalekos and Harbinger as having one bruised each. Sea Devil enters the fray by stabbing Dalekos in the back: 32! Okay, well! Tou vs 32 https://orokos.com/roll/786772 13 Okay, while it would be v. dramatic, I will make that an injured and staggered on Dalekos. Artificer is up once I post IC.
  5. Directly underground, okay! It can't make any kind of Reflex save - and is vulnerable to fire! Tou vs 39! 35! Well that was unlikely - but it (the thing driving the babies) takes an injured. The monster babies are full of tiny inchoate spirits of death and suffering, as if the stuff left behind by dozens of murderers was taken and given a terrible animate form.
  6. As the police crew brought their boat around to start rescuing those they could from the water, Woodsman considered for just a moment before he loaded his crossbow. A long, long-forgotten lesson boiled up in the back of his mind, from a time when he'd been learning things even before Claremont. You can't actually put a fire out with cold - there are chemicals that burn even in absolute zero. The deoxygenating agent does have a cryokinetic effect - but that's purely coincidental. There were things in the Forest Primeval that liked to cook their own meat - and had the power to do it, too. Unless you smoked 'em out. He fired a bolt first into the water; targeting a bit of floating debris so the crystals inside the bolt would break. When the chemicals inside hit the air they had a catalytic effect on the ocean water, rapidly transforming the floating sea of burning chemicals into something not particularly palatable but definitely not on fire. "Make you sure you get 'em out," he growled to the harbor cops as he pointed to the blue liquid now floating on top of the water. "Bad for lungs." He considered a moment, then fired another bolt into the burning maw of the ship, nodding as the fire there began to flicker and die. Still not gonna touch it for a minute.
  7. Woodsman is going to try and use one of his cryoagents to put out the fire in the water - that way crewmen can jump out and be rescued in the water if they need to. He can do this at a distance (arrow'd!) so I don't know if he needs to make the Tou save? Assuming that gives me +10 to the check - 24 He'll take care of the fire in the water and the fire at the hull breach if he can.
  8. "Am I!" Eira's eyes lit up, and for a moment she looked much younger than the "eighteen in April" that Astrid had heard her describe herself as. She folllowed Astrid towards the band room as they went, hands in her hoodie pocket, talking all the way. "Sweden has the best metal scene in the world," she said as they went, her voice sounding suffused with pride, "because it wasn't just greasy boys shouting in their garages like in America, but it really had the punk spirit from the beginning. And they actually knew how to play their guitars!" She laughed, then snapped her fingers - and distinctly the music of Arch Enemy began to play from her body. "And it's not just one kind of metal, but sludge core, symphonic, and all the rest. I used to go to these clubs that..." Her face fell as they reached the band room door, then she smiled thinly. "I suppose I will need new IDs here, yes? You cannot even drink in this country until 21! Ridiculous."
  9. "It does seem a little vain to put _my_ voice on, yes?" said Eira with a smirk, seeming to relax now that she had a co-conspirator in Pan. "I have several possible musical selections I thought we might play in _honor_ of the headmistress." She played a few for the boys; mostly symphonic metal of various kinds, some of it harder stuff, all of it loud statements about rebellion and overthrowing the system. "Perhaps the Eagle Flies Alone?" she asked, eyebrow raised as the song played for the boys. "If we are to be partners, I welcome your input." She smiled, showing perfectly white teeth. "If you _are_ in, that is, Adam."
  10. Watchdog: Tries an Intimidate vs. Donar: 19 Shoulda stuck with the Skill Mastery - ah well! She'll throw a grenade at him, since she's trying to avoid entering into melee with him. DC 20 Reflex save/DC 25 Toughness save for him Daystar: She'll use extra effort to gain two additional ranks of her Disintegrate power (boosting it to 11) Then she'll shoot it at Donar She'll fire at Donar: 25 Okay! well, that's a DC 21 Fort save for him vs a Tou drain, then a DC 26 Tou save.
  11. "Oh, who knows," said Judy with a little wave. "The boys can keep themselves busy for a while, and I can watch in here just as well as out there. Here, you want some of this?" she offered, handing her makeup bag to Mia. "Not that you don't look great," she offered, "but you could look even better!" She gave her a bright smile then asked her sister "Can you hear anything out there, Ashley?" Ashley shrugged, leaning against the wall near the door. "Nothing loud. I think they're talking about race or something." "Oh, well, that's them Ah guess," said Judy, her face looking clouded for a moment. "Definitely nothing we need to worry about." She considered for a moment, then said, "Don't you think Leroy needs to cut his hair? Ah mean it's real pretty, but it's almost as long as mine, and it's just...he'd look so great with short hair." She sighed softly, putting some of her own makeup back in the bag. "Micah too. They're both really cute, though."
  12. "An operation." As she spoke, Eira began cracking the knuckles on her right hand, crack crack crack. "You know the morning announcements from the headmistress's office, yes?" She pointed at the screen on her desk, and a recording of that particular morning's announcements played in their headphones for a few beats. She smirked, studying her green-painted nails as she spoke. "I know I have only been here two weeks, but we deserve a chance to be heard, don't you think?"
  13. "Ah promise," said Judy with a wink. "Believe me," she admitted with a thin smile, "if there's anybody at Claremont who can keep a secret, it's me and Ashley." She paused a moment ,then opened the makeup kit in her purse to touch up her lipstick - a bright shade of ruby red that had gotten a little smeared with all the kissing earlier. She blushed a little as she thought about that, then said, "Leroy and Ah don't get a lot of opportunities to go on, um, dates," she said as she finished up the lipstick, "what with everything being the way it is. Ah'm sorry if we made you uncomfortable just now."
  14. Doktor'd Angelic 5PP Add Enhanced Feat 1 (Quick Change) to give her Quick Change 2 [1PP] Add Intimidate 12 (+12) to Skills [3PP] Add Takedown Attack to Feats [1PP]
  15. "You-" Judy blinked a few times. Eira was on the list of students she was supposed to stay away from as much as possible - between the effects of Judy's powers on machines and the way Eira's abilities as a robot girl might let her learn the Secret, it was just a bad idea all around. From what she'd seen, the Swedish exchange student didn't seem like anybody she'd want to know - brash and full of herself, dressing like who knew what and acting like whatever she wanted. But Mia was her friend, and she was going to support her, whatever that meant. I'm just not going to ask. "Well okay," she said seriously as she brushed her hair, "but you've got to let Micah down easy. He's a very sweet boy, and Ah don't think he's had a lot of experience with, you know, girls. Ah had to work pretty hard to get him to work up the nerve to ask you out in the first place." She smiled at Mia and added. "You look great, though, really. A real Roman princess." On the other side of the bathroom, Ashley took a step towards the door, trying to catch what was actually happening out there.
  16. Eira blushed down to her roots, and for a moment or two she looked considerably younger than the eighteen she was going to be in a few months. "I am not so...little," she muttered. After a moment's silence, she spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear. "Y-yes, these are the members of Orange Squad," she added, going around and introducing all of her friends and squadmates by either supername or personal name depending on their preferences. "<Greetings on behalf of the people of Terra,>" she added in the Lor she'd learned on her recent trip to space; speaking with the faint 'lack of accent' that marked a non-native speaker. "This is Seresk of the Praetorians. I worked with him when I was here with Citizen a year and a half ago, but that was when I had my younger body." She folded her hands behind her back and said, "Shall we proceed, or would you care to tour the facilities here?" she asked, seemingly all business.
  17. That evening, not long before curfew, Pan and Adam arrived at Lulu and Eira's room for the next phase of their plan - whatever their plan actually was. Inside they found music playing, a loud symphonic metal that made it hard to hear anything else. Lulu's half of the room looked much as it had when Adam had last been here but Eira's was distinctly odd. Sparse furnishings (the bed, desk, and chairs), the windows, and even the paint in the walls overlaid with thin, regular metallic lines that glistened slightly in the overhead lights. A series of three screens that vaguely resembled computer monitors had risen straight out of the metallic desktop surface and were playing a fast-moving video of a Viking-looking band that seemed to be in time with the music. Eira had changed too - a bright green oversized T-shirt with an abstract design wrapped around her slim torso, a black high-end gaming headset (complete with microphone) on her head and two more in her hand. She handed them both off to Pan and Adam, then showed them how to turn on the system while she connected the headsets using a thin, stretchy cord that unrolled like fishing line. When the system was on, and everyone was connected, she grinned and said into her microphone. "There. Now we are shielded from, mm, prying eyes." She looked from Pan's face to Adam's and raised her pierced eyebrow. "Are you in?"
  18. Down below, the water rippled beneath the Atlantean submarine as it began thrumming its way up above the temple steps towards where its commander and his troops were now in a fight for their lives. The water rippled as if invisible arms had suddenly formed the shape of a portal - and out strode the Sea Devil, her armor stained with the chemicals the Atlanteans had dumped into the ocean. With the blood of the - The blood of the - She could not even now make her She looked up at the craft above her, heard the terrible sound of its engines, and realized they hadn't seen her. Up on the temple platform, as the submarine approached, it was clear Artificer's plans were working - the statue had gripped Theodora by the arms, pinning her in place as she writhed and spat. She was chanting now, words of Atlantean prayer mixed with harsh invocations to the Gods Below - whatever the words meant, they seemed to be holding her in place - or maybe it was just the grip of the spell. Meanwhile, Dalekos and the Harbinger of the Far Tide seemed to be evenly matched - both had traded blows and bled each other, but neither had dealt the other a serious injury, and Dalekos's remaining troops seemed to be tied up in battle with a Deep One contingent that had come boiling out of the temple. The fight above, it seemed, was evenly matched. - Inside the temple, it seemed as though things were rather different. The Atlantean contingent evidently included no one who spoke English - they weren't quite panicking, but they were obviously readying themselves to bolt from the monster eating its way through the side of the cage. A voice was entering into Octoman's head and telling him all sorts of interesting things, one of the creatures he'd captured had escaped (and smelled distinctly peculiar), and the Deep Ones he'd caught up were doing something that vibrated _oddly_ against his body but didn't seem to be making any real effort to escape.
  19. Okay, they're Snared! Talk amongst yourselves or escape how you like vs the Toughness/escape DC of the snare. I'll just say you have the Deep One guards snared to avoid the trouble of a roll, GF. Sea Devil: 27 Sea Devil teleports onto the temple steps, outside of melee range of the fight at its front gates. As this is a long-range teleport, she's without her dodge bonus for one round. Artificer: 19 Harbringer: 17 Theodora: 17 (bound and helpless) Dalekos: 15 Okay, let me post IC and then Artificer is up!
  20. Watchdog interposes like a fool! Tou vs 27 - 22 Another bruise for her!
  21. That succeeds, but you feel something horrible, wet, slimy, and hungry trying to suck you down below!
  22. "If you identify in a different way," Eira said to Adam, politeness in her voice, "please let me know. I myself identify as a machine intelligence." Turning back to Pan, she assumed a more serious demeanor. She cast her blue-eyed gaze around the room, then said, "This location is not secure. If you want to talk, come by my room tonight before curfew." Her serious demeanor gave way to another smile. "We can discuss things then."
  23. "I have a foster brother; the hero you know as Citizen. When I was uploaded, I spent some time with him before my new body was complete. We still see each other every few months." She smiled thinly, taking a seat on the stool in front of her desk. "If you are talking about biological siblings, my parents had planned for several children." She took her earrings out as she watched Lulu, keeping eye contact as she reached behind her to put them away. "But one daughter dying slowly before their eyes was enough to put them off the notion." She hmmed and said, "Perhaps Mia is oversensitive because her mother was a criminal." She was cracking her knuckles again, crack crack crack, first on the left hand and then on the right.
  24. When the monsters pushed their way through the floor, Woodsman dealt with this new crisis by grabbing the rope he'd rappelled down on and beginning to climb again. Nope! flicked through his mind, and not for the first time he realized he thought that word in Sparkler's voice. Speaking of witch... "Gonna burn it down!" he called down below as he ascended upward as quickly as he could make it, making his way back to the second floor in the space of just a few seconds. So tired...but he could almost rest.
  25. Woodsman - 25 Cheval - 16 Baby Monsters - 11 Persephone - 10 Torque - 5 Woodsman: switches to this part of his array Speed 1 (grapple gun, 10 MPH) + Super-Movement 4 (Slow Fall, Swinging, Wall-Crawling 2) {9/21} and gets out of the room with all the monsters! Cheval: give me a Reflex save!
