"Oh Ah might go fight the Nome King, who knows." Judy was very familiar with the works of L. Frank Baum - and Laura Ingalls Wilder, for that matter. "Ah'm not really doing anything right now," she added, shooting a glance at her sister. Ashley looked up at her and a silent communication seemed to pass between the two. "I'll keep my distance," Ashley promised, as usual her tone considerably softer than it was with anybody else. She slid her grapple gun back together in one smooth motion, slipped it inside her jacket, and stood up. "Ah always wanted to see New York City," said Judy. "Ah bet it's loud there, but Ah mean there's probably so much to hear." She sighed a little wistfully, then said, "Are you still gonna live in that place you were talking about?" She was dressed down in a white T-shirt with gold and red rings at the cuffs and neck, and jeans that had seen better days - it wasn't the first time Corinne had seen her friend dress out of the bargain bin.

Okay, folks - go ahead and write it to the best of your abilities. Give me whatever checks you think are appropriate. -
"Hi Corinne!" Judy threw open her door - and to Corinne's surprise, invited her friend inside. "Come in! Are you excited?" She hugged her, bright-eyed and fever-hot. "I'm excited for you!" The mystery of what exactly lay inside Judy and Ashley's dorm room turned out to be rather disappointing on closer inspection. After all, they'd had time to pack. Inside the room were several packed cardboard boxes, a battered Library of America hardcover Judy had bought at the thrift store, and Ashley. The latter worthy was sitting on the bed and in the process of rebuilding a pistol-shaped weapon Corinne didn't immediately recognize. She gave Corinne a grunt, but her eyes twinkled just a bit as she went back to work. It had taken her a while to warm up to the kid, but Corinne honestly had her head on pretty straight compared to a lot of the students here. "We're ready to leave ourselves, just another couple of days and we're off to see the wizard!"

We'd like to see the Temporal Movement as something the character does 'off-panel' or with power stunts for now - i.e., you should take it off the sheet and make it a fully plot-device power.

After some quick discussion of everyone's respective abilities, another reassurance for the little boy that everything was going to be okay, and a telephone call to her home base, Lady Horus took Mutt and Esteban Delgado to school. Well, to the campus of Belcher College - often neglected, almost fully-deserted at this time of year. The wind was in their hair and everything around them seemed slowed to a pause, the sun-dappled arms of a goddess making everything better as they ran inside an empty building that turned out to be not so empty! On the upper stories of Belcher's Old Main, Esperanza Azul was waiting for them. She didn't look the part of the caregiver - and didn't sound it either. "Really?" she demanded. "A kid and a flying dog? Really?" "Aye, and much else!" declared Lady Horus, reaching up to pull off her helm. There was a flash and ripple of light, and suddenly Lady Horus was replaced by a middle-aged woman in a tracksuit. The transformation seemed to put on about two decades - and turn her voice from echoy Shakespeare to the edges of Jersey. "I have to run back and pick up the groceries, sweetie, then I'm gonna turn in. Can you help little Stevie settle down with one of your TV shows or something?" "I..." Esperanza looked down at Javier as if she was worried he was going to bite her, then said, "...all right. I can handle kids." She'd heard enough of the story to know somebody needed to do something for this kid. Switching to her native Spanish, she said, "<So Esteban, do you have any shows you like? I can get Univison on the set in my room, and there's some others....>" Her bedroom turned out to be her workshop too, full of half-built gadgets on several desks around the room, and a big TV in front of the bed. There was food in here too, several cases of various Grupo Bimbo snacks of various sorts, some already open, the trash meticulously stacked in a nearby can. "<Help yourself to one of my snacks, but your dog needs to stay on the->" Mutt did not stay on the floor.

The great cat-thing responded to the blow by snapping its head forward with a most unbiological motion and trying to bite Facsimile in half! The polymorphic paragon felt spectral teeth bite down on his metal hide hard enough to bend steel - but not quite enough to break it! The cat shook its head and spat him out, leaving him covered with a coating of unholy drool. Sea Devil was rather doubtful of Facsimile's words but she tried a trick she knew from her training in the castle - she struck her trident against the ground and bellowed a Lemurian syllable against all false gods. There was a distinct flash of greenish light around her in the vague shape of a star, but the oddly phosphorescent lightshow had no effect on the great roaring thing in front of them. "It is not like ghosts!" she bellowed. "It is not magic!" -

@HGM, you may have Thaelia arrive after Doctor Archeville makes his next IC post!

You're able to fool the guard in place in the cells in the upper air-filled stories - it's Atli, looking tense and distracted as he paces. It does indeed look like Deep Ones were kept in these cells; you can see Lemurian graffiti etched directly into the metal by what must have been their claws. There's blood on the floors here too; dried into place by that alien substance air. You don't know enough to tell Lemurian from Atlantean, but you're reasonably sure both is up here. A lot of what's written on the walls looks to be invocations of the gods and what might be personal names. The clearest sentence you find says i am transformed by flesh of my spawn

Archetech August 2019 The impossible had happened and a shining knight had found love with a perfect goddess of science and patriotism - or so it was known in much of the Freedom City community. The reality of the unholy cyborg killing machine from beyond the stars and the mysterious controller behind Miss Americana was rather more complicated than that, and far less known, even inside the relatively small confines of the hero community. But it had happened and those two lovebirds really were married now, a texted picture of rings on fingers having been sent to Erik and Talya's cellphones about twenty minutes earlier, about the time the Interceptors had arrived. They, their children old enough to stand a party, and a selected few friends of the family had been invited to the reception for the wedding at Steve's invitation. They were about ten stories up in a glass-walled, flower-bedecked atrium in a room staffed entirely by robots too far off the humanoid to be creepy - some were serving drinks, one appeared to have built-in speakers and was parked near a small dance floor, and others had been dusting and cleaning when the Interceptors and party arrived. It was a nice room on a sunny summer day, the sky overhead a lovely shade of blue dappled with white clouds. Steve and his bride were supposed to be there at any moment...

The tiger looks fat and sassy, seemingly a very paragon of tigerness. One odd thing - Facsimile, you could _swear_ that thing was a normal color before, but now it's distinctly albino. What could it mean? ? This guy is sincere, durf - man is really broken up about his dogs dying and he wants some payback.
-
Give me another set of rolls - and Stealth and/or Bluff if you're trying to be sneaky about your investigations, and how.

Lady Horus arrived back at the Delgado place to find it largely abandoned, having left the police officer in the hospital without looking backwards. What a bunch of asses. "Lo, hello small one!" she said, appearing again at the boy's window and letting herself in. "And Hound of Legba as well, well met. Listen," she said, "Bedlam town is no place for a boy such as you. I can take you to a safe place for tonight," she offered. "Would you like that? Everything will be fine there," she lied.

This seems to work - @Zeitgeist Blue, your thoughts? -
"Oh, there's no catch." said Johnson with a serious look. "The United States government is eager to make sure we have good relations with the new Lady Liberty. Did you know your immediate predecessor was a government agent during her early career? She chose to assume a role in the private sector after the Terminus Invasion of 1993, but we still consider it a vital part of our story." He grinned at Monica and added, "And no, by the way, I'm not trying to sign you up for some kind of government black ops team. That's only in the movies. We just want to make sure we have a good relationship with you moving forward, just as we did with Beth Walton-Wright. I've been authorized to tell you that President Cahill is personally interested in working with you." He leaned back in his chair. "So what do you say?"

Avenger Assembled replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in Sol System
Van Coover told Terrifica that the problem had indeed been caused by the impact - the asteroid strike had desynchronized the coolant tanks for the station's on-board reactor, leading to the imminent threat of a meltdown that might extend into higher and lower dimensions given the many transdimensional technologies in place on board the station. Right now the risk they faced was a full-on thermal inversion in the reactor room that would incinerate the crew, but the risk was only going to grow from there. "The problem is, if we push off the inversion, we risk dumping all that heat right back into the system and leading to a full system overload! We're hoping you heroes have a solution!" said Coover, sweating slightly on the visible parts of his face. Like the rest of the crew, he'd donned radiation gear. -
Watchdog (and Daystar): Intro: Watchdog enters, a glowing Daystar just behind her. She pushes Daystar off-camera and draws her gun, growling "You ready to dance with the Devil?" Super-Move: Watchdog shoots the character in the shoulder with her grapple gun, pinning them to a wall. She runs up to them and beats them with her tonfa, with slow-mo hits of jaw strikes and belly hits - and then ducks as a glowing Daystar appears behind her. "Now!" Daystar raises her hand and blasts the character _through_ the wall behind them, the screen briefly flaring to white. Victory: Watchdog handcuffs their beaten opponent and kicks him in the ribs while a brightly-glowing Daystar smiles big for the camera and gives it a big thumbs-up. "God Bless America!"

"What the hell, I'm not afraid. Bloody tiger ate my dogs." The hunter spat on the ground, narrowing his eyes at Sandman. "So I'm gonna kill him and maybe eat his liver like my grandfather would have, because that's justice. I loved my dogs." For just a moment, the man's voice broke - he really had loved his dogs. He glared at Sandman and said, "You bloody tourists," he said, evidently a guess. "What, did you come to spend your money and see the bloody tigers? We actually have to live with those damn things!"

Tiff: This guy's name is Yegor Shoygu - he drives a truck in the town when he's not carrying his father's old service rifle in the woods to do a little hunting. Or maybe a lot of hunting. He's here to kill the tiger that came into his backyard and ate his two hunting dogs. He's not a terribly sentimental guy but he loved those dogs. He knows that the tigers are protected but the tigers come onto people's property all the time; a tiger that ate dogs has learned that there's food in houses. Next time it'll kill more dogs, or maybe a human next. He thinks nobody will listen because the rangers are college kids from Vladivostok who work for the tigers or rich tourists; not the people who live here.

You were just beginning to think that perhaps Dalekos really is just a fine Atlantean patriot with no-doubt good reason for acting suspiciously when you stumble across the diary of one of the low-ranking soldiers in the encampment. Most of the early entries are mostly related to his distaste for such an isolated posting and how he'd hoped "Project Rebirth" would mean a little more action than this. Scattered through the later entries, though, is other things... Week 4 "By the Gods, they fought us harder than I expected! Maybe they don't love their hellish spawn as we love our own children but they hate anything that comes into their territory. The ones that were left promised us a hellish revenge - but we made short work of them." Week 6 "Catching the adults was harder work yet; fierce things! But the cells Above will hold them sure - and then the big brains can get to work on them." Week 7: "All but two are dead, more's the pity - it means more hunting! But Dr. Laertes is _very_ interested in those that survived. We had no miracle, they didn't transform back to Atlantean - they're more like hybrids now, with a big-eyed and unwholesome look about them. But Laertes is fascinated; which means guard duty Above for me! At least there's another hunting party soon." Week 8 "An armored one, big male, quick as lightning! He actually escaped us, spoke in the Surface tongue - the General said not to worry about him, he was outcast. But the ones left of the adult prisoners, they seemed to know it. They're singing now, damn their hellish noises!" The other entries are increasingly erratic - until finally, by Week 10, he and some of the other troops are planning to silence "those filthy devils forever..."

Okay, give me whatever rolls seem appropriate here to figure out what's going on with this guy, and what's the story of the tiger, etc. And anything else that might seem suspicious.
