If Lady Horus asks Mutt to take the boy to her headquarters, will he do that?
-
Lady Horus damn near took off the dog's head in a super-speed reflex before a divine voice in her head reassured her. Legba's Hounds are fine beasts. You can trust him, thief. Oh sure, now ya tell me! Anna had always been more of a cat person, anyway. "Yesss," Lady Horus extemporized a fabrication with the sound of one with great experience at the task, "Mutt is an old friend of the Sunhawk." You better not be giving me a bad apple here, Neppy! "If you have no place to go, I can send thee to mine own home."

Comrade Frost "I have much to say as well," said Comrade Frost with a reassuring wink. Dimitri hung back, and for a moment, it showed on his face how unworthy he felt to be there. So many heroes, who had given so much of themselves for a better world - and then there was Dimitri Peshkov, with a dirty joke for every occasion and red in his ledger that could never be wiped away. Oh well he thought, forcing himself to brighten. This isn't the first time I've been among my betters and they've never noticed. His smile for Leilani was genuine, at least, as he stepped out after the rest of the Freedom League. There was good in the world that had actually touched him, after all. Heh. His smile broadened considerably as he looked out at the crowd, half-hidden by the team he had made a point to stand behind. He folded his hands behind his back, and assumed the parade rest position he usually occupied in moments like this.

Fall 2019 After some searching, they find the note down in the basement of the Faretti manor, in a place where the dimensional walls are particularly weak. Of the husband and father who'd always been so good at disappearing acts - "Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

All right: @Tiffany Korta, your supersenses tell you there's a human nearby, and that something else is creeping up on you along the riverbank. @Exaccus, it's this cat

"The proximity to those Above is why I hope to keep matters both swift and discreet. They have been our allies," he said with an air of concession, "but even the wisest among them do not understand the affairs of Atlantis." "What about the Queen Mother?" inquired another one of the soldiers, his guttural accent and pale skin marking him as kin to one of the barbarian tribes on Atlantis' northern borders. It wasn't a hostile question - but rather one that bore the mark of being asked and answered before from Dalekos's smile. "Now now, let's not speak of disloyalty, Atli. The Queen Mother has been an Atlantean longer than I have - her Surfacer days are a mere accident of her birth." He touched his soldier on the shoulder, then did the same for Heroditus and his father. "Whether born Above, or in the outmarches, or in the heart of the Capitol - we are all Atlanteans. That gives us something our enemies lack, and will give us our victory. We will evaluate the extent of the damage, take what revenge we can, and perhaps with Posiedon's blessing rescue those taken from his side. In Posiedon's name!" That earned him a rousing cheer from his troops. "The general tells me that the project was large-scale, classified medical experimentation," whispered Heroditus's father when they had a moment. "and the device he wishes repaired is the power generator of the station. I urged your mother to come too, but she said someone had to stay home and mind your sister."

Smart play, thought Johnson admiringly as he watched Monica arrive. If she'd landed, she'd have come down in the middle of a crowd of tourists and reporters this close to the courthouse. She must care about her privacy. Good. He could use that. He smiled at Monica as she arrived. ""Miss Gutierrez! I'm so glad you could make it. Jim Johnson, with AEGIS." He steered her around the metal detectors with a wave of his badge at the security guys. "My office is on the second floor, if you'd care to follow me?" The elevator was right over there.

Oh geez this kid hasn't lived long in Bedlam has he. Her own son had known the cops were his enemies by the age of seven - but most parents hadn't been like Anna Cline. With all that in mind, Lady Horus kept herself between the kid and the door. She didn't know exactly what was going on below, she just knew that getting into a fight with the police would overcomplicate whatever was going on with the little tyke. She looked at the door and hesitated. Wait a minute. The door isn't locked. Why wouldn't the father come in? What the hell kind of parent would just let their kid do that? With her nerves jangling from a situation that was growing more and more bizarre, she made a rapid decision. "This is no place for a boy, brave he might be." As she spoke, she moved to the bedroom window and forced it open, wincing a little at the noise the glass made as it slid along its casters. "Have you family here? Friends?" With casual ease, she pushed the screen out, then caught it before it fell.

Hey GF, I don't mind you moving the scenario forward at all, but could I possibly get an HP tossed my way for the GM fiat there?

ic Scene: Terrifica and Salvo (IC)
Avenger Assembled replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in Sol System
Before Terrifica could get off a response, a signal from the reactor came through. "Hello? Computer lab? This is Van Coover." An image flashed on the screen of a portly, mustachioed man who looked to be of northern European descent. "I don't know who's on duty right now but we've got a problem! I've managed to lock down the reactor," and sure enough, a look at the computer systems told them that he had, "but we're looking at a localized meltdown in about five minutes if nobody can stabilize the systems here. Hello, can anyone hear me?" The camera panned back to show Coover's crew, the usual multi-national and multi-ethnic work crew that the League's hiring policies performed, and one black-bearded fellow said, "Wait, that's not just the...the ones taking the tour today, is it?" -
@alderwitch @angrydurf @Exaccus @Tiffany Korta - feel free to make an IC reaction post, and give me a Notice check afterwards.

"Whew! Makes life so much easier!" And so it was that everyone found themselves teleported down to a place with a thick forest overhead and the thick smell of summer in the air - the Amur forest along the border of the Russian Far East and China from what Frost had told them. They weren't alone down here; this area was wild enough for birdsong and the crashing of deer as the latter hastily bolted away from the newly-arriving bipeds. They were near the edge of the forest and could see reeds growing along the sides of a good-sized river flowing nearby, and from there they could see a sky that was fiercely blue. Whatever adventures Frost had in mind for them, they were for the moment alone in a place that looked to be nearly free of the consequences of humanity...

Dalekos nodded. "Your teachers have taught you well, and you've moved beyond them, excellent. You're right to think them thinking beasts." "At least a mako is just instinct and hunger," commented one green-haired soldier on the otherwise of the watercraft. "That's respectable. don't want to kill and eat you in the name of their demon-gods." "Quite, Helena," agreed Dalekos, "well-spoken." He seemed to have a strong bond with the young people under his command, who watched him admiringly as he spoke. "There was an attack at a military facility near our border with the Surface World, further up on the continental shelf. The soldiers and scholars at the facility were killed, and much of their work was destroyed. I'm hoping your father's keen eye can restore what was lost, and I'm hoping your knowledge will help us with the greater problem. The facility was isolated, you see, and so many of the staff there had brought children." He fell silent, everyone in the craft did. "We do not yet know their fate."

Anna listened to the man's conversation with the police just long enough to realize she needed to work quickly, then she moved back upstairs. Staring at the boy's door, she stepped through the past to a time when there'd been a happy family here - and then she was through. Knowing she'd be visible to anyone hiding inside, she looked quickly for the boy. Her eyes wide, she held a finger to her lips. "Sssh." She badly wanted to take off her mask, but some old bottle-blonde lady wasn't going to reassure that poor terrified child. "I got your message, small one," she whispered in the resonant voice of a living god. "What happened?"

This was by no means the first house like this Anna had broken into. She considered her options and in a flash took shelter behind the house, keeping it between her and the police out front. It wasn't that she feared the cops, really; no Bedlam squad car had enough firepower to break her skin and most of them couldn't even hit her. But it never hurt to be careful. In that spirit she looked up at the bulk of the house nearby and stepped into the past, getting a quick impression of ash and oak trees before she reappeared inside the first floor of the townhouse. She concentrated for a moment and was invisible again, phased out of the space-time continuum. She knew she could get upstairs before anybody broke down a door, so between the ticks of the clock she flew quickly through the downstairs. You're going to eat me? Anna had heard a lot of things in her career - and none of them promised anything good right now.

Are the windows locked in a way that can't be opened? If so she'll drop her Concealment and Teleport in through a window where nobody is. If she's gonna be spotted, might as well be by someone outside the house than in.
-
Anna fears no cops, mostly - she flies in and looks around - she'll use Quickness 5 (x50) as necessary for Notice or Search checks. Her Ankh Array is currently set to: Flight 5 (250 MPH) {10} + Strike 14 (PFs: Improved Crit 1, Takedown Attack 1) {16} {10+16=26}
-
Okay, you can assume she's arriving under full Concealment. GF. She'll head straight to the address and see what's happening.

"Hmph." Esperanza normally didn't care very much what people did to each other when she couldn't see it, but she had a soft spot for kids. Setting aside her tracking program for Hammer of Justice sightings for the moment, she dialed her mentor's number and gave her the report. She was just about sweating through her tanktop as she worked, and glad for the opportunity to take a break. She and Anna had turned their headquarters on Belcher's campus into a nice little home away from home, but it was hot as balls here. Maybe I should suit up and head out just to get some $(Ing fresh air. "Ah, jeez..." Anna listened, thinking of her own son when he'd been that age. "On the way. I'll call you if I need it." She'd been on her way home from the grocery store when the call had come, but luckily nothing she had was perishable. Setting aside her phone, she glared truculently at the people nearby her on the county bus line, then took the opportunity of the next stop to vanish. Once she was out on the street, she headed quickly for an unoccupied, garbage-strewn alley, where she opened up her big purse and pulled out the Helm of Horus, the magic hat seeming to grow to its full size once it was out in plain sight. With a sigh she settled the helmet on her head, unable to stop the smile of triumph as she felt the warm, solar-hot flash of empowerment through her. The nice thing was, the linen skirt on the costume actually made a lot more sense in this weather! Twirling her ankh, she took off, taking a moment to set the flour and summer sausage she'd bought on a high rooftop, before zooming towards the child in danger. She let herself go invisible as she went, slipping just a touch out of time - the better to make sure she got there in time.

Summer 2019 Phoenix Federal Building As he waited for Lady Liberty to arrive, AEGIS Special Agent Jim Johnson stayed out of the sun. It was Phoenix in summertime, 85 degrees at 9 o'clock in the morning, and he was damned if he was going to let the teenage superheroine catch him sweating more than he already was. So he stood just inside the building's glassed-in door, waiting for Lady Liberty to make her appearance. With the channels the government had established in the superhuman community in the last year, it had been easy enough to send the message to Lady Liberty - please come meet with us at such and such a date at such and such a time, so we can discuss a matter of importance to you. He'd always been a fan of Lady Liberty, the kind of heroic legacy he'd hoped to embody himself as an agent of the United States government, and had made a study of the current one's predecessors before taking this particular assignment - straight from the Director, who'd gotten it straight from the President of the United States. He was sincerely looking forward to bettering the life of America's patriotic heroine - and making things run a bit more smoothly for everybody.

Wadjet monitors police bands and calls Lady Horus if something interesting happens. Hardwick Park is Lady Horus's special focus area (it's where Anna was born so she's sentimentally attached to it) so she might just be flying or running around there.

Defining the Cities
Avenger Assembled replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
Most I've gotten other than geographic descriptions of Vibora Bay is "Magic". History, mythology, etc in a way that the other regions don't really have - the Southern Gothic ethos applied to superheroic adventures, with enough diversity in a million+ metropolis that PCs aren't limited to that particular aesthetic. -

ZB: You can see a scattering of debris from one of the surrounding rings, all of it following a track like a line drawn in space. It looks like maybe a large object hit the station? You can't tell; there's no sign of the impactor. EP, let me know exactly what you're looking for. Right now you can tell there's massive damage to the satellite. You can't raise any of the metahumans on board, but you can reach the uniformed crew like the workers trapped down by the reactor, the staff taking shelter in place in the labs, etc.
