  1. "Ah've been homeschooled most of the last year," admitted Judy, "so Ah'm looking forward to getting to know some people who I'm not related to. But it must be nice to have you and your brother in the same school, ah guess that, um, must be going around these days." She looked back at Ashley for just a moment, then said, "Can we come in, or are you still decorating the place?"
  2. Ashley looked back at Àjàṣorò, toothpick still clenched in her teeth, holding her gaze flatly until Judy spoke again. "That's so pretty!" she said cheerfully. "Ah love African names," she guessed. "Ah guess we're neighbors now," she said, hands folded in front of her. "Ah've never been in a boarding school before," she confessed, "so this is all pretty new to me. Is your first year too?"
  3. Wadjet hesitated just a moment, then reached into her costume long enough to pull out an old-fashioned flip phone. Tossing it to Chromium, she said, "Jigsaw Man leads the Mara. Reason they're top dog. Eyes open" On the plus side, the fight with the two of them would certainly take Jigsaw's attention off the Furies - which had been part of her goal in coming here anyway. "Will call." She pictured her conversation about today with Anna and decided she'd handle that when she came to it. Chromium was someone they could work with, and someone they could direct at their enemies - and for the moment, that made him a friend. "Don't talk to the cops." she added in a warning hiss - disappearing back the way she'd come when Chromium looked away.
  4. "Enough to damn you to Ammit's hunger ," lied Lady Horus smoothly. She took in the contents of the room in an instant, casting her eyes around faster than she knew a normal human would be able to follow. Good - that was an excellent way to keep people off balance.. "But those are the words of your foes. Tell me your story."
  5. When the door opened, Ashley blinked for a moment and fell into 'character' a moment before Àjàṣorò could actually see them - and so it was that the White Lioness's first encounter with Ashley and Judy was a hard scowl from the former and a cautious smile from the latter. "Ah, howdy!" said Judy with a nervous smile, giving Àjàṣorò a friendly wave. "A'm Judy Smith. Nice to meet you!" For her part, Ashley had snapped open a blinking device from her belt and scanned the White Lioness with it while Judy was giving her greeting. "She's clean," muttered Ashley, stepping back fractionally to lean against the wall and let the two girls actually talk it out. She was a little disappointed that the Dakanan royals hadn't brought one of their famous bodyguards along (if only to see what the competition was like), but she supposed they could take care of themselves. "Sorry," said Judy apologetically. "Mah sister's a little, um, paranoid." She reached up and twisted her fingers in her hair, then suddenly smiled. "And unfriendly! She's Ashley."
  6. Did a quick edit while E is away from her computer to cover the two issues, @Fox - fixed the math on her numbers and the idea is that Danica is summoning a spectral tortoise to bite her enemies. It's a ghost tortoise so it has Affects Insubstantial 2, it bites real hard so it has Improved Crit 2, it sometimes is behind you so it has Indirect 2, and sometimes it's on fire or made of lightning, hence the Variable Descriptor 2. Lots of tortoise gods out there.
  7. Sadly his Attractive puts him over caps - you need to lose a rank of that.
  8. Here's an APPROVAL from me - @trollthumperor @TheAbsurdist (or whoever!) can take it from here.
  9. Frost tasted blood - his own. It tasted terrible! He spat it out, the better to avoid it leaking while he spoke. "Your pardon, my lady. Anyway, I sit defeated with a lady's sword through what passes for my heart," he would have shrugged, but that would not have helped his torso one bit. "Naturally I yield. Now come, we have evil to take to its natural home, and a world to show you."
  10. [10d20=17, 3, 4, 9, 14, 2, 6, 1, 2, 11] Wadjet has 18 for Initiative. She'll Power Attack for +2 with that 17, meaning she'll inflict a DC 25 Tou save with her Blast. She'll then spend the rest of her actions taking shelter and finding cover - using Stealth and retreating, etc.
  11. The easiest thing to do, @Cubismo, is just going to have it be the Thor of an alternate dimension coming down here - that would also explain how he was able to get around the Pact, too. There's already in-game precedent for that sort of thing.
  12. September 4, 2018 Claremont Academy (Fourth Floor, Rita Kord Dorm) Jaycee had suggested they meet people before the assembly. "The first time you meet somebody, you set the tone for the whole rest of your relationship. If I meet them now, when Ah want to and on mah terms, that'll make it easier to stay in control. And Ah gotta stay in control, right?" It was actually one of the most perspicacious things Ashley had ever heard her charge say - and certainly the longest string of words she'd put together since a recently-drained Jaycee had parted company with the bulk of her Secret Service detail at an undisclosed location and headed onto Claremont's campus that weekend. They'd come in early, before any of the other students arrived, and Jaycee had spent most of her time in her room studying and texting to her sisters. And so it was that the "sisters" headed out into the fourth floor hallway, Ashley taking the lead as she would for the next two years. Jesus Christ, she took a moment to think before she took in the scenery. 410 was down at the end of one hall on the fourth floor, with 409 and 411 on either side a little further towards the main staircase. There were backstairs too, of course, and escape hatches that the sophomore students probably weren't going to find out about yet. Ashley was dressed for her part in a leather jacket, denim shirt, and scuffed jeans. She'd told her handlers that the pink dye in her hair cut down on the "look" she was trying to present, but they'd told her it would soften her image. By which they mean not make me look like a lesbian. She contemplatively chewed a toothpick as she scanned the hall, then took a look back at Jaycee as she closed the door behind her. "Judy" Smith didn't look much at all like her First Daughter self - with her long hair loose and hanging down her back, in baggy brown shirt and slacks that had made her make a single small noise at the sight of them, she looked like one of the refugees they were pretending to be. She was smiling the smile of someone who'd had media training, though, as she ran her fingers against the gold cross she wore around her neck. That was new too; a gift from the First Lady that nobody had seen in public yet. "Well?" It was true - Ashley had to lead the way on this one. She headed down the corridor, looking for open doors - or the sounds of activity inside them.
  13. (What I would do with Rage is just describe going into a rage when you start All-Out Power Attacking, Cubismo, and put that PP into something like Luck)
  14. Awaiting convo -Abs Okay, this one's a bit complicated. Retire Citizen - I'll have him guest star in Emerald City threads as needed. (I have too many characters right now and maybe it'll help Emerald City to let other PCs grow to be the "Superman") Move Watchdog to the PL 12 180 slot freed up by that. Make the following edits to her sheet: Powers: [28PP] Gadgets 4 (Utility Jacket; 20PP Variable Power, Any Power, Multiple Powers At Once; Extras: Duration [Continuous]; Flaws: Hard-To-Lose) [28PP] Sample Gadgets: "The Beast" Enhanced Blast 7 (to Blast 13) {14/20} Collapsible Shield Force Field 6 (Extra: Affects Others) {12/20} Grapple Gun Speed 1 (10 MPH) [1] + Super-Movement 3 (Slow Fall, Swinging, Wall-Crawling 2) {9/20} Taser Stun 5 (PFs: Accurate 5) {15/20} Feats: [2PP] Devotion (Pulse) Luck
  15. that hits! Tou vs DC 34 http://orokos.com/roll/658415 Bruised!
  16. You're up again, @KnightDisciple
  17. So you want me to swipe yer wallet, honey? came Anna's hard thought, her internal monologue still rattled by the near-miss. "Thanks so much fer the welcome," she said with a sharp smile. "We'll try not to drink up all the good liquor." Sassing the host let her distract herself for a second or two, but the remaining seconds left her with a lot to think about. All right, so you and yer girlfriend are out on a date where people can see you in a town where people know what you look like - why the Hell did I think this was a good idea? Determined not to ruin the evening, she made a point of reaching down and taking Nicola's hand again as they went inside - all chase gal-pals while they were out in public on the street. Her heels were short, the kind that wouldn't make her ankles hurt at the end of the evening, and cut to let her step right out of them at speed if she needed to.
  18. Wanders: @Electra There are bombs on _all_ the bridge supports, down under the water; while there are enough of you to cover all the bridges, that does mean you're going to have to make some hard choices about who's going to go where - especially since only some of you are going to be able to see well enough and function well enough underwater to get access to the bombs. What are you gonna do about that? Midnight: @Gizmo This will take slightly more time than you have - you think you will be able to keep the bridge from falling but some of these bombs are going to detonate. What are you gonna do about that?
  19. Upon his arrival, the Bee-Keeper found the casino open for business. This wasn't really the best time of day, or year, for tourism but this was the sort of establishment that never really closed down. It wasn't hard to guess where he needed to go; the High Steaks had been built years after Brian Nisbet's time and so if his headquarters was here, it had to be somewhere underneath the building. An open loading dock, a garage, and down past carefully placed orange traffic cones got him down to where a crew of construction workers was standing around a deep sinkhole in the building's sub-basement. His suit told him he was down as far as he could go and still be inside the building proper; which meant there had to be something beneath his feet. "Hey, you can't come down here!" A tall, dark-haired woman who looked like she was usually friendlier than this had interposed herself between Baxter and the hole. "This is private property!" No sooner had she spoken, though, than Diamondlight, a handsome, broad shouldered man in good shape, with mid length blonde hair and peculiar silver blue eyes, climbed out of the hole behind her!
  20. Smashing through the wall brought about terrified screaming from the people inside - but then nothing else, when they realized this was a superhero and not another Omegadrone. Much, much later, people would tell Singularity that the damage from earlier battles on the site had made things easier. Anything that was going to fall down in this building, or off it, already had! But as it was she had her opening and her way out, and if the people inside weren't taking it yet, she could sense their energy building behind her - when the drone army thinned, they would make a break for it! Aquaria felt like doing a little screaming of her own - the robot army had her on the back foot, forcing her back against a stone wall and besieging her with their limbs and blades. She felt something slam against her back, hard enough to slam her head against the front of her armor - and flipped her trident around neatly to impale the Omegadrone behind her through the head. I am not a Surface-Man! she bellowed inside her head, absurdly angry that the creature had thought her capable of being snuck up on from behind. But of course they didn't need to sneak, did they? If she hadn't known the gods could hear her song, she might have been afraid.
  21. Singularity: with the shield and her super-strength, she has just enough damage to break right through that wall without a roll! Omegadrones: continue their attack vs. Sea Devil Attack vs. DC 22 http://orokos.com/roll/658164 that does hit! Tou vs 30 21! I want this to move quickly, so I'll spend her last current HP on rerolling that. http://orokos.com/roll/658167 = just a bruised, okay! Giant Robot: is dazed!
  22. Wadjet added can melt to the list of things she was accumulating in her head about Chromium. Oh well, at least it saves me an acid shot! She was pretty sure the metal man wouldn't have gotten chemical burns from the hydrobromic compound she carried, but this way she didn't have to find out. "Fine," she said tersely, "just fine." She'd done some fast maneuvering herself, sliding out the stairway she'd been trapped and through an open window here. Her back hurt enough that she knew she'd need an aspirin when she got home. As sirens echoed, she commented, "Got cops to come here." Getting the Bedlam PD to actually show their faces in this neighborhood took some work. "Get help with powers," she said seriously. "Nobody was in here - but that was luck." She hesitated a moment, then said, "Know somebody can help. Where can we find you?"
  23. Make sure you clear off the cruft - i.e. the blue text.
