  1. "We can lock the door if y'want," said Riley quietly, thinking of times he'd done the same. It wasn't like Fred could shimmy out the window and climb onto the roof, even if it looked like she'd been thinking that a few moments ago. "You got people who care about ya, that's all. Just wanted to make sure you knew that." He smiled, a little too hard. "We were talkin' about goin' down and getting you, so good thing you came in when you did. Now I don't owe Merlin a granola bar," he said, as if bribing Raina's monkey was the biggest hazard of breaking and entering around the school. He automatically kept himself in front of the half-closed door, the better to give Fred some more privacy.

  3. Well, with Continuous you have to pay 1 per power rank (so a Continuous Container costs six per rank rather than five). So you should sort the math out there. The last thing is, I'm a little skeptical of that much flawed Super-Strength - I wonder if you could use those PP for more regular Super-Strength?
  4. SHoot me a PM with any other thoughts you have - and to remind me to actually do it!
  5. Show the duration on the Container and show the math for the saves. What is the new duration for his Bruised recovery? What's his Leaping distance? (You can download the Leaping spreadsheet from Green Ronin if you don't want to do the math)
  6. All right, well, as soon as we have an IC post, you're up Mafia Whale.
  7. Sorry, Heritage! K: That'll do it! Normally the mechanic would be a touch different, but since this is just Equipment, sure, why not?
  8. "Come on, Chapter Zero!" called the fire-breathing woman who was evidently the group's leader. "No gods, no masters!" Disengaging from her combat with the ground troops, she ducked behind the cover of an overturned truck to call out orders to her footsoldiers. She had a loud voice and was good at projecting it, and now that she had some cover her battlecry could be heard across the battlefield. "Mind Knight, get in their heads and heighten their contradictions! Primal, show 'em how we fight for truth and justice! Electro, give the old man in there the democracy special! We'll show 'em how the system really works!"
  9. "No, no, I'm good," said Riley awkwardly, walking into the room and not quite making eye contact for a moment. He was, now that he thought about it, not terribly good at this kind of thing. He did force himself to look at Fred when they talked, but it wasn't easy. "You...okay?" he asked after a minute, spreading his arms. Blunt though he could be on a lot of things, pressing into other people's body issues wasn't something he really enjoyed doing. "Missed you today."
  10. Init Firebreather: 6 + 20 = 26 Psychic: 0 + 17 = 17 Gorilla: 2 + 3 = 5 Electroman: 15 + 4 = 19 Our initiative count is: Firebreather: 26 Hyperactive: 23, down 1 HP Electroman: 19 Psychic: 17 Chrome: 15 El Huracan: 13 Miracle Girl: 12 Argonaut: 8 Gorilla: 5 Firebreather will take this opportunity to Inspire her teammates, giving them +4 to all all attack rolls, saving throws, and checks for the rest of the round. Hyperactive, the jetpack is a smaller target than the gorilla himself and so harder to hit - go ahead and roll to see if you can make contact with him.
  11. The blow struck home - but the Director rolled at the last moment, meaning it only scraped along his face. "So, it's a fight, eh, kinder? Fortunately this body is more than a match for either of the two of you!" He made a reach for the Weekend Man - then suddenly disappeared behind him to strike him from the rear. This blow struck home too as he reappeared in front of his original opponent - though no skin was broken, a cleanly-cut hand-shaped chunk was now missing from the back of the Weekend Man's costume. "My mind is the most powerful in the world and this body is one of the best - you have no chance to survive!" The Director taunted. "Flee now, and I'll leave my lab animals to run feral again."
  12. http://orokos.com/roll/534122 = 27 He passes! He tries hitting Weekend Man: Attack vs DC 25 http://orokos.com/roll/534125 And a miss! Hyperactive's turn, soon as I post IC.
  13. "Hold on there, flyboy," hissed Woodsman. "You just got head trauma out there and I just got my ass on fire." He made Jann hold still long enough to check his pupils with a penlight - and stopped himself to put on another pair of padded gloves. Taking the time to look gave him time to see that the fire outside wasn't quite as bad as he had feared. It was hot and smoky enough outside to make him desperately wish for something better than a wet handkerchief pressed to his face, but it wasn't turning into the inferno that might have killed them both. "Okay. You circle 'round and gets its attention, try and get it close t'us? We know we can 'ffect it. Just gotta get it somewhere where it's not surrounded by all that fire..."
  14. Riley's grin didn't help the innocent air he was trying to project - but like Fred he focused quickly on the chemical anomaly before him. People going crazy was the sort of thing that gave him the cold sweats, but science going crazy was the sort of thing he could watch all day. "Huh, that is somethin'" he opined. "Hey, watch it," he added in a hiss. "Don't need you gettin' a facefulla sparks here." Speaking of people going crazy... "Looks like it's reactin' to something in the rock," he added, "'zat pyrite?" He was reasonably sure that the yellowish flecks scattered across the rock's surface, a little bit like mica, weren't actually gold - otherwise this quarry certainly wouldn't be shut down! After a few moments, the rock eventually stopped sizzling and sparking, leaving behind an impressive crater where the initial sample had been, then series of shallower pockmarks all over its surface. "Huh. Stuff must be new, or it'd have set things off before now."
  15. I had the impression that they'd followed us into the office to hector us, but I could be wrong. Lady Horus is certainly not going to let a lot of boring civilian Poindexters follow them below!
  16. You've been a really good sport about this, MW, so you can have an HP from me!
  17. I'm inclined to say yes, but feel free to get in a post or two talking strategy while you do it. talking's a free action.
  18. Okay - I'm gonna exercise GM prerogative to take one of your HP, K, and said that you are free from the mind control after this attack is adjudicated.
  19. "Hmm." Riley was used to this kind of thing from Matt's dogs, but he gave them a look anyway. It got the usual response, too. "OK, well, she's all right, she..." He turned and glanced down at Robin's door. "She's outta there, anyway." He checked his watch, the leather-strapped device something of a novelty among his peers, and said, "Boys' time runnin' out. If I'm gonna go in there-" he shot a glance at Robin, making sure she didn't mind him taking the lead, then turned and headed for the door. Giving the usual knock, he said in a conversational voice, "Hey, Fred, you gotta minute?"
  20. Citizen stared at the Negator-spawn for a moment, then raised a finger against his own lips in a "Ssh" gesture. With a Centurion's wink, he took off back into the air and called down the tunnel. "Negator!" He didn't actually need to take a breath, but he let the pause drag out. "The mighty man of antimatter!" he added in a taunt. "You and Cortex have no idea what's going on. I'm laughing at the superior intellect." Wait for it wait for it wait for it. Let him think about it, let him debate it, let him try and decide if this is worth going off whatever the Hell his mission is. "Have fun beating up a bunch of science geeks. I'm gonna go take out your boss. Unless you think you can stop me!" he added, a moment before taking to the sky again, pushing his internal electromagnetic drive to its utmost.
  21. Inside the cave, as far from the entrance as reasonably possible, Woodsman stayed low to the ground, laying the semi-conscious Jann alongside him. He hurt, hurt in ways he wasn't sure metahuman classmates ever did, his muscles burning and the skin of his back aching with what were probably thermal burns underneath his cotton jacket and poncho. He was silent as he cracked open his canteen and took three long swallows, the lukewarm tap water within Heaven to a throat scorched by smoke. Inside, though, Riley wasn't quiet at all - indulging himself in a string of vicious profanity before he crawled closer to Jann to make sure the other boy had water too. Fire's gonna be seen and people are gonna be called. And they're gonna say, Riley how the hell did you burn down the forest? He judged that conditions weren't actually dry enough for a real forest fire, especially not with Wharton's comparatively thin cover, and there weren't any nearby habitations that he was aware of. But this was still embarrassing. Plus we still might die. Flying out wasn't even an option, not with the way a forest fire's heat rose. Wonder how far back this thing goes. "Hey, wake up!" he hissed at Jann.
  22. All right, before we act again, go ahead and make another Will save, K. Add +2 to your roll.
