  1. I've done some assignments. Let me know what you think.
  2. Note that this one will be mostly vignettes and a couple of central threads - so it will be easy to do right after one event.
  3. Looking for interest in Puppet Day - our May event. Puppet Day is a day when many of the heroes, villains, and civilians of Freedom City are transformed into adorable sentient puppets - with felt versions of your superpowers, as the result of one weird trick by the young prankster Quirk. Your characters must adapt themselves to their new circumstances as best they can while working to protect the city! See content like this. http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/Smile_Time Note that for those of you with multiple characters, you can only have _two_ characters be transformed - that way there are still plenty of human beings out there too.
  4. I'll put Edge and Monsoon vs. the Angel of Death - and Singularity and Sea Devil vs the Frogs.

  6. Woodsman raised his bow and fired a shot at Tesla Atom, an explosive bolt that shattered against her electric-green force field with a flat _bang_. All too human in a room full of inhuman monsters, Woodsman vaulted over a gore-strewn council, taking shelter from the terrible radioactive powers of Tesla Atom that he had seen cook men alive. The other Ferals he could handle with hatchet and knife if necessary - taking down the alpha female that was Tesla Atom at the height of her powers was going to be something else. Grunting in satisfaction, the radiation controller herself flew towards the heroes, hanging in the air with jerky, erratic motions like a ghost of heroes past. Not heroes anymore.
  7. I'll say that takes down Ferals 1-6; i.e., the ones that are Minions! Woodsman shoots Tesla Atom. http://orokos.com/roll/381139 = that 20 hits, barely! Tou vs 26 http://orokos.com/roll/381141 = hmm, I'll take an HP, and say it doesn't hurt her. Woodsman takes cover. Waverider is up.
  8. "Don't have time f'r this," growled Woodsman, reaching down and grabbing his hatchet where it hung at his hip. He leaped forward and threw at point-blank range, the closeness necessary to make sure he didn't chop off the sweating guard's limb. The one-handed throw didn't have the power to split skulls or crack bone - but he heard a satisfying thunk as the flat of the head struck the guard on the knee, the blow making the man howl and fall forward, right into Riley as he leaped up and headbutted the man in the nose with all his strength. That time, he did get a refreshing crack of bone, even as the brief pain of the impact briefly knocked him for a loop too.
  9. Woodsman's not going to waste a bolt on these guys - he throws his hatchet at the legs of one of the guards. He'll take 10 and hit 23.
  10. "Right." Woodsman worked the lever on his crossbow and shot the man in the stomach, the partially-pulled string meaning he only penetrated an inch or two into the man's stomach with the sedative-laden bolt. The guard opened his mouth, eyes wide in terror, and then slumped to the ground without a further sound. "Ah geez, he crapped himself," muttered Riley in a tone of mild annoyance, putting his gloved hand over his mouth as he studied his handiwork. "Well, that's that, I guess...time to find a guy in the woods." That was one thing Woodsman did very well, he decided as he headed out to find where he'd left his bike, putting the unfortunate guard behind him.
  11. "That amphibianoid is a lucky woman," returned the Nauarchus's voice, full of warm, soothing honey. "Under suitable interrogation, he admitted that he deliberately murdered that Star Knight to make Aquaria a fugitive and drive her towards the Spectrum Knight cause." Eclipse heard the sound of movement, along with a slight shudder in the station, that told her the Redeemer had docked - and Frankan herself was now onboard. "So you can tell Knight Stewart that if he's applying, ah, judicious force, that it's not necessary." Her tone didn't break at the images that her words conjured up - the idea that Cavalier might be savagely beating Aquaria didn't seem to be a concern. "Nonetheless, I felt it was best to handle this situation personally - we have the best facilities for handling our Terran guests. What is your current location?" From the noises outside, and the flash of body armor on Lor marines that Eclipse could make out approaching from the edge of the corridor, the Grand Nauarchus was being polite. - Still carrying Jessie, Aquaria obediently piled aboard the Voidrunner and headed inside to the crew compartments. She made sure first of all to carefully buckle Jessie into one of the crash seats Ruby had shown her how to use before she hopped back to Ruby and swept her up in a damp, slippery embrace. "We are pod," she croaked in the language of the space people, before hopping back inside to strap herself in alongside Jessie. "Bring Bliss along," she agreed to Sitara, calling down the central corridor to the woman outside in a bellowing bass produced by her bulging throat at high volume. "And Roulette!"
  12. "<And if this oath we ever break; you our willing flesh will take...>" Aquaria was being a good subject and holding her body steady as the tattoo art continued, and was now keeping time by drumming on her bulbous knees with her webbed, three-fingered hands, her song echoing sonorously between the words of the conversation around them, a basso sound that seemed to swell the air and make it thick with moisture. "<And with the blood of sacrifice; you will free us from all pain. In the darkness of the sea; we will wait through ages thrice, and when the mighty stars are right, we will even have the skies...>" She croaked, neck bulging wide, and it seemed to be the end of that particular song. "They call me Sea Devil," she croaked confidentially to Renegade.
  13. I don't make it! I'm not up anyway - up to you guys, alder and Giz.
  14. "<I'll show you a lack of decorum, I'll->" Dimitri put his hands to his temples and massaged them, deliberately turning away from Klara as he tried to calm himself amid the increasingly dangerous situation. "This is no time for old grudges, woman," he said aloud in English. "Someone brought you here for a purpose and you can be sure it was not me." With DImitri distracted, the temperature in the room was slowly but distinctly dropping, as if Henry had turned on the air conditioner and left it on. "Someone who knew I was coming here tonight - someone who could have heard things spoken only in the Freedom League's own headquarters." He was pacing now, eyes hard and back up. "Henry, your employers in that agency of yours - what have they said lately? They know that we have met, yes? Both your immediate superior that you report to, and _her_ superior?"
  15. Has he really been whoring himself out? Damn, Ace! Normally you can manage a finer sort of establishment than this for that was what Dimitri thought. What he said was a confidential whisper, "Listen, what we're talking about here is question of lady's honor, you know? Very important thing, very important - especially since so many want to steal it." he insinuated, looking around as if a horde of tabloid reporters were there waiting to swarm in like so many journalistic piranha. A subtle gesture of his hand indicated Talya's pregnant belly, something that for a brief moment made him feel guilty - how dare these people judge her, even in the wrong? Fortunately, such moment's pass quickly. "Keeping honor could be handsome reward for woman of discretion such as yourself, heh-heh-heh," he smiled up at the woman and took a file out of his pocket and began filing his nails right there as they spoke, his teeth sparkling white. "If it's a question of Ace's time, we can find way of paying you for it. I know some...people that might be of interest to you." He winked up at the woman.

  18. That does KO him - and that move will put her right next to Sentry 2! Give me a Stealth check, Fox.
  19. As it turned out, Aquaria didn't sing the whole time. "Through the blood of sacrifice; I am made free - through the blood of sacrifice; I will win victory." Deep One blood dotted up as the needle moved, a distinct reddish-blue color that was closer to a royal purple than anything else. "Her sister is very strong," she added in a low rumble. "When we went to space, everyone remembered how strong she was." She sighed again, throat sacs bulging, and leaned forward to let Ray do his work. Evidently it was not an entirely happy memory. "Dagon and Hydra are sleeping now - but when we sing to them, they lie dreaming of us. If this were in my nest, all the elders would be singing around me, and the fry would be there to see it too."
  20. "Ah, Ace," said Dimitri, a look of commiseration on his stubbled face as he looked around at the Jungle Room before he seemed to light up at the sight of their host, sketching an obsequious bow as he folded his hands in front of them. "Hello, my fair lady," he said with a wink at the matron. "I am Dr. Dimitri Peshkov, and this is my associate, Mr. Jack." He said both names in a tone like the purring of a large Arctic bobcat. "Our lady Talya requires a conversation with Mr. Ace Danger." He put his hand against the side of his mouth and whispered, "A private conversation. But a woman in your business, you know how these things are, eh?" Dropping his hand, he laughed, drumming his fingers against the door as he looked up at the older woman. "So are we in right spot for such entertainment?"
  21. "Well you know, if a man is to have company, he should have some-say! <In Satan's name, what are you doing here, woman?>" demanded Dimitri of Klara, staring up at his former ally with suspicion turning to anger, his back up like an angry Arctic fox as he looked up at Klara. He looked up at Klara, then over at Henry. "You don't know who she is...or you do, but you know it the way you know Talya, because of what they took from Henry Griffin's brain." He stared suspiciously at the former Warrior Woman before he realized that he didn't really believe that Klara could be behind something sinister because he knew Klara would never be so treacherous. He said something in Russian that was a very bad word - then another in English. "Damn! How did you get here?"
  22. "Okay," said Aquaria, reaching out and wrapping her long fingers around Jessie's, with a casual air suggesting that she was doing it more for her friend's benefit than her own. "We love our children, and our brothers and sisters, we just love them differently than you do. We pray when we're afraid, we eat when we're hungry, we love our podmates..." She did squeeze Jessie's hand a little tighter when the needle dug in, and began to sing, a croaking boom that she'd translated for Jessie - and that Renegade could follow well enough. "Oh Father Dagon; Mother Hydra too - listen to me sing your song, oh so far from you..."
  23. "Oh, yes, I know about those gods. There was a chaplain at Project Freedom." Aquaria sighed, a remarkable sight given how it made her throat and jaw inflate like balloons for a moment. "Dagon and Hydra were gods of the Surface too, before they joined the One Below. That's the one whose name Surfacers don't speak." Her eyes flicked down to the ground, and she rolled her back, heavy oceanic muscles moving beneath the skin. "People are afraid of us, because of those horrible stories, and those horrible cultists. But we're not bad. Dagon and Hydra aren't bad. We're not like you...brekek, we're _different_ from you. I'm ready for the needle."
  24. Aquaria croaked in surprise at the moving images on Ray's skin, then leaned in to watch with giant-eyed fascination. "Amazing! What other pictures can you make?" She did eventually point out 'the blue plant', a beach-growing weed that flourished in the brackish waters of the south Caribbean and northern South America, its blueish berries famous for their hallucinogenic properties. "We never ate it," said Aquaria, drawing up one leg and hugging it against her torso as she spoke. "We are carnivores." She looked over at Ray and asked "There is a Surfacer god in this city - his name is Set. Do you know who that is? Is he Abrahamic?"
  25. Riley didn't speak - he was a hunter, really, and there was no point in talking to the things you planned to shoot. Instead he leveled his weapon and fired without hesitation. Woodsman shot the scientist through the heavy muscle of the forearm, the poisoned bolt making the man twitch and jerk as he collapsed to the floor, foaming at the mouth. The elevator was well-designed, giving Riley no cover from fire from the corridor - but he trusted in Robin as he ducked behind her at the sight of the armed guards. He might not have a lot of experience fighting armed opponents, but he knew perfectly well she could take a hit from a sidearm far better than he could. There'd be time to worry about his feelings on _that_ score later. "Kick their asses, Nighthawk," he snarled with real affection in his voice.
