  1. "Argh!" With yet another attack on their master, the Atavisms focused all their unholy fury on Dragonfly. A blast of flaming stones as large as her fist shot by her head, a searing bolt of cosmic energy just missed setting her lower back on fire right through her battered armor, but even as they tore divots in the ground and blasted craters in the strip mall's closed stores, Dragonfly continued her work! Mastermind himself targeted her, hurling a bolt of raw telekinetic power that hit the liquor store where the Interceptors had been working seemingly a lifetime ago, setting it ablaze. But nobody hit Dragonfly! At least until the Beast bounded in, the concrete breaking beneath his feet as he landed only a foot or two away from Mara! He drew back his fist and hurled a mighty punch, one that would surely have taken off Mara's head if Willow hadn't gotten in the way! The mighty blow hit the dryad in the stomach, doubling her over and sending her flying backwards to smash against a lightpole, half out-of-breath. With his punch landed, the Beast winked at Mara, his teeth gleaming beneath his bloody mustache, before he vaulted back up onto the nearby rooftop.
  2. Feeling pretty good about himself, Riley started the motorcycle, smiling as the engine rumbled beneath them with power. He donned his own helmet, sliding it on neatly over his freshly-shaved head. "You're hanging on just right, baby," he commented before starting them off, heading down the road with what turned out to actually be a considerable amount of care. Driving the motorcycle was still new to him, and even though Wander had said he had a real natural talent, he didn't want to risk ruining the moment with his girl. "Peyton says she has a lot of questions for you!" he called as they headed into traffic, "but I wouldn't worry 'bout it! She gave the other Riley's girl the third degree when she came by too."
  3. November 1, 2015 The DuTemps Building While the machine intelligence briefed the superheroes on relevant global events she'd gathered from observing the planet's news cycle, Tarva, her head on her hand and shoulders slumped as usual to disguise her great height, was in the process of making notes on her yellow legal pad, the heavy black ink of her pen scratching quietly as she worked. NORMAL MOVIE FOR KIMBER - 2001? CLOCKWORK ORANGE? AN ANDALUSIAN DOG? She didn't really understand the appeal of any of the bizarrely sanitized movies that people on Earth-Prime enjoyed watching, but after some consideration (and careful scrutinizing of their plots), she'd selected a few that she thought would make for an enjoyable evening. When Bluebird paused to change topics to recent interstellar news, Tarva nonchalantly put her hand under the table and rested it on Kimber's thigh, giving her lover a warm smile as she locked eyes with her. They'd have an evening all to themselves yet. Nobody's going to come between us, she thought comfortingly. Nobody.
  4. December 1, 2015 Riverside 5:30 PM Gina Evans wasn't driving her car - she had Emerson for that. At least until Emerson gave her the warning beep that something was happening that required her attention. They'd been stopped for several minutes now in this small Riverside sidestreet, a shortcut Gina's mapping programs had uncovered months earlier when she'd begun her psychological visits to Dr. Franklin at Freedom Hall. Today's appointment had supposed to end with coming home to a pleasant dinner with Steve, but heavy traffic and now a police barricade had obstructed her travel plans. There were three other cars on the street with her, an SUV, a taxicab, and a luxury sportscar just ahead of her. She could see the man in the sportscar, wealthy from what she could see and the vehicle itself, cursing in frustration at the police cars in front of them. There were two police cars; each one blocking one lane of traffic, both with their lights flashing. The officers were engaged in setting up a barricade with traffic cones and road flares, occasionally stopping to converse with each other, but she couldn't make out what all the fuss was about. Behind them, their little mini-traffic jam was suddenly joined by a full-sized police SWAT transport truck! The truck, coming in so fast Gina could hear the squealing of its tires, made a neat pivot as it reached their alley, swinging like a door to block them in from the rear, too. SWAT officers poured out of the SWAT truck too, fully armed and in full body armor, and began the process of setting up another barricade behind them.
  5. I like it, Shaen! S/he looks like a badass.
  6. Fire, the Beast, the Withering, and Mastermind make a combined attack on Dragonfly. Fire (All-Out/Power Attacking for +5 vs Dragonfly): 13 Beast (All-Out Attacking for +5 vs. Dragonfly): 30 (I'll fiat Move-By Action on his sheet so he's not stuck in melee, have another HP, Fox!) The Withering: 18 Mastermind: 26 - but never mind, because I forgot about the Miss Chance! 9 OK, that's a DC 30 Tou save for Dragonfly. That's so sad, it could have been so much higher! =( Or rather for Willow, who has indicated an interest in Interposing. The portal will open to its full capacity at the end of next round as long as Dragonfly remains conscious and next to the machine - Miss A can do the same if she takes up a position with her. Miss A is up, then Jill, then Willow, then Dragonfly.
  7. http://orokos.com/roll/344772 = 13! http://orokos.com/roll/344775 = 27! Okay, he is blinded, but not sickened
  8. Fire is gonna hold her action for a combined attack. Dragonfly is up
  9. "You know black's my favorite color," he joked, patting the obsidian steering column. "I'm not s'posed ta do any tricks with it," Riley admitted, "but it'll get us to North Bay." He patted the back of the bike. "We'll go up over Cent'ry, then we'll take Route Nine up t' Peyton's house." He still didn't call it home, not when he was thinking about it - home was, and ever would be, nuclear cooling towers rising high above the Forest Primeval. "Wander says if I take good care of 't, she's mine once I can fix 'er up and take 'er part again. Then I can take you anywhere y'need ta go. Called Peyton," he added, his voice growing softer. "She says she'n Riley are waiting for us over there."
  10. Thanksgiving 2015 Riley was waiting for Robin outside Claremont as soon as Wednesday classes were let out, sitting atop his pride and joy. Well, it wasn't really _his_ pride and joy yet - but the loaner motorcycle, black and chrome and shiny thanks to an evening's worth of dedicated polishing, was sturdy, functional, and could be trusted to get him and Robin from Bayview to North Bay in a reasonable amount of time. He'd been a little nervous about making this invitation, especially when it meant at least two days over at the home of his counterpart and his mother's duplicate, but in the heat of the moment he was confident it was an acceptable risk. "Hey, babe!" he said with a wave as he caught sight of her coming through the main entrance. "You ready t'go?" He had a black helmet under his arm and another on the back of the leather seat - safety being something his all-too-human frame meant he was extremely conscious of.
  11. It would be so easy. An hatchet strike to the nearest man, high and hard, to show he wasn't afraid even of the biggest ones, then the rest would run as soon as he'd done enough damage. It...They aren't Ferals! They aren't Ferals! And no wonder he had to tell himself that, when an angry mob bent on harm had only ever meant one thing, with their teeth bared and eyes flashing rage in the dark. As the angry crowd looked away, Riley turned and ran, readying a smoke arrow if they tried to follow. Whatever everyone at school thought about him, he wasn't a killer! He ducked inside the murder house and slammed the door shut, throwing the lock with a reflex borne of long practice. Turning to face the inside of the house, he raised his voice and called out, "'Lo? I'm Woodsman. I'm a superhero - I'm here t'help."
  12. Woodsman dropped to one knee and racked his magazine's lever, dropping another bolt in and drawing the string in the same motion. Without a word he fired a single shot right through the crowd of people, this one a blunted bolt that struck his target square in the back of the head. The blow, harder than a strong man's punch, set his target sprawling against the concrete steps of a small apartment house, knocking him out cold. Great shot! he briefly exulted, before the hostile crowd, many of them made of up men bigger and stronger than he was, began to close in. With a snarl, Riley loaded another bolt, his mind flicking to the hatchet he wore at his side. He'd hacked his way out of crowds of Ferals this size - but not without killing. Why are they on _his_ side? "Dammit, I'm a supahero! Didn't you hear what's happenin' in that house?"
  13. http://orokos.com/roll/344650 = 32! He is unhurt.
  14. Riley shoots him again! This time with a full-on Power Attack. http://orokos.com/roll/344642 = 21 That's a DC 26 Tou save if it hits.
  15. That works! Go ahead and give us a post.
  16. Bie Yie blasts Cavalier! http://orokos.com/roll/344401 = 21 That just hits. DC 29 Tou save for Cavalier. He will then fly away at Flight 8 as a move action, going 2500 ft out over the ocean.
  17. "I'm...Sea Devil," said Aquaria, stepping out from the shadows inside the shuttlecraft to stand beside Jessie. "And this is my friend Singularity." The 'hero names' had come to her lips automatically; names they hadn't given the Spectrum Knights during their time with them. "We are lost," she said to the Voidrunners, but focusing on Ruby who could at least speak Surfacer. "We were stolen into the sky, uh, into space by bad Surfacers, uh, aliens, called the Spectrum Knights. But now we want to go back home. Are you from Earth? Can you help us?" She rocked back and forth slightly on her long, amphibious legs. "My friend's cousin is a mighty warrior from Earth. She is very powerful and she will reward you with lots of..." By the whore gods of Atlantis, what do Surfacers like! "Lots of gold! And treasure! And we are very strong. We can help you fight your enemies on the way back to Earth." She hopped down to the middle of the gangway, doing her best to look trustworthy.
  18. "Fetch cups if you would, then! Ladies must not drink from bottles, is gauche." The bottles clinking in his arms, Dimitri carefully padded his way downstairs, followed by Erik. "Hello!" he said with a wave of his free hand as he headed over to join Talya and Min. "I have secured the liquor and your husband as well!" he declared cheerfully to Min. "He is sharp fellow, do you know he knows about my old silk hat? And corncob pipe?" He looked around for a place to put the bottles and settled for resting them in a windowsill. Fumbling around in his pockets, he came up with sure enough, a corncob pipe, which he gave a disconsolate look to before sliding back in reluctantly. "Yes, I saw no smoking sign," he muttered. "Anyway! Cups, fellow, cups." He opened a bottle and began pouring. "I suggest that you young people who can drink enjoy yourselves with liquor on house."
  19. "I can...stand," said Steve, slowly pulling himself to his feet at Erik's words, leaving behind a few drops of blackish red blood as he moved along behind Erik. He didn't bother bragging that his torturer had gotten nothing from him, instead he silently ran after Erik as they made their way out of the spaceship. Magriette had summoned a few thugs to try and slow them down, but the leather-and-cloth-clad men were no match for Erik even when that worthy was distracted by the scenery and worries about his friend. The two men ran until they reached the entrance - where they found company waiting for them. Two armored dinosaurs flanked the Master, Magriette, and that white-clad fellow in the mask whose name Steve had never actually heard. He, Magriette, and the Master were all flying, an ominous sight indeed in this low-technology-looking place, white and black phantoms floating to either side of the Master, who as they watched removed a silver-gleaming mask from his belt before affixing it to his face. "A shame, Stephen! I would have enjoyed learning from you and your friends the secrets of the future. but now your corpses will have to tell the tale." He laughed. "What, is this one man and his fellow outlaws all you have, Stephen? Where is your army?"
  20. We are still in rounds and fighting Bie Yie.
  21. You notice the ongoing civilian evacuation at the NSA building, Cannonade, which Miracle Girl just left behind to report to the others. It looks like there's a helicopter on its way to help with the evac now that the supervillains are down - or are they? There's not much to see outside the buildings, sorry!
  22. Woodsman didn't hesitate. He racked the slide on his crossbow's magazine and fired, sending an explosive bolt through the night sky that impacted on his target's back with a loud bang. It was a perfect hit, center of body mass, that sent the man to the ground with devastating force. It was enough to put any normal down for the count; hell, the hard part had been finding a load small enough that it wouldn't kill a normal human on impact. But as the man he'd shot started getting up, Riley abruptly stopped congratulating himself and started moving into action. He slapped a climbing clip from his belt on a nearby railing, then fired the attached bolt at the sidewalk pitched at just the right angle. As soon as he heard the bolt hit, he grabbed his hatchet and leaped off the roof, sliding down the line with the smooth steel of the hatchet's handle 'riding' the line for him, his gloved hands gripping tightly. He'd worry about that other guy later.
  23. Okay! This is an explosive arrow in the back.
  24. "We aren't going back!" croaked the amphibious humanoid behind 'Wander'. "I don't know how you found us, Bie Yie," she declared, pointing at Roulette, "but we aren't going back to the Spectrum Knights!" The translation didn't ease her nerves, after all, the Spectrum Knights had all been able to understand each other back at their base and look how that had turned out for them! She padded to one side, her thick hands curled at her flanks in the readiness that meant she was keeping as near a weapon as Ruby. Bie Yie sounded like someone from one of Zultas' various religious orders, not really anything that was part of his current life. "We aren't running away anymore!"
  25. Riley shoots the guy running away! +2 Power Attack http://orokos.com/roll/344026 = 26! If that hits, with any or all ranged penalties - That's a DC 23 Tou save vs. non-lethal concussive damage.
