  1. A witness! Damn! "Why hello, child!" said Dimitri warmly, balancing his bottles under one arm where they would stay cool and refreshing for Talya's palate. "I am a friend of your mother's and, ah, Talya's." He looked around the kitchen for a moment before he found what he was after. "Ahah!" He stepped over to one of the cabinets and came back with a full-sized bar of Hershey's chocolate. "Would you like...a candy?" he offered her with an elaborate wink. "Is delicious chocolate!" As delicious as American chocolate gets, anyway.
  2. "Was my fault," said Dimitri apologetically, picking up Talya's bad mood with the ease of long practice. "Talya is fine friend to do such things for me. Hence, ahh, why I owe you wodka!" he declared before turning and heading upstairs, tromping along rather than leave icy patches on the stairs of Talya's new friends. It took him only a moment to find the kitchen, where to his relief he found the vodka stored the way it should be. "Sealed, dated, and labeled," he declared as he opened the refrigerator. "Ah, Talya, you are ever connoisseur," he said, reaching in to grab the vodka. Not sure of Min's tastes, he searched in the cabinets before he found the flavored liquors. "Purple, orange, ah...Sunny Daiquiri! Well, seems legitimate beverage." He stacked the three bottles he'd selected on the table, then turned to head back downstairs.
  3. Mastermind: Master Plan check: 37 (after all, this is not an unexpected encounter) Move Action: Fly up to Dragonfly, the only member of the group in the air Standard Action: Attack Dragonfly: 33 That'll be a DC 30 Tou save. Note that if he inflicts Knockback, he'll be driving her straight down.
  4. Poor Beast! He's just a creepy sociopath! http://orokos.com/roll/340365 = 21 He loses another three TOU http://orokos.com/roll/340366 = 22 He is bruised x4 now! I'll spend an HP so he shakes that daze.
  5. "Hmm! Maybe there's more value to a Wander clone than I thought," taunted Bie Yie, firing a blast of searing blue energy that just missed scraping Aquaria's armored feet as she desperately hopped towards Jessie and gathered her up in her arms, heedless of the danger of her maddened best friend. "Come on, Deep One," he taunted, his voice still half a drill sergeant's as he taunted her. "Where is the rage that wanted to liberate your people? Strike me! Show the Galaxy that the daughters of Dagon and Hydra are not to be trifled with! Why do you hesitate?" he demanded, even as he floated within striking distance of his amphibious former pupil. "Because I'm not a monster like you!" spat Aquaria. He made me think I was- She killed the thought. Knowing she couldn't outfly Bie Yie, and that he'd catch her if she made for the side, Aquaria jumped down right through the hole he'd just blown up in the artificial floor of the rocky outcropping. She had no idea what she'd find underneath, and it took her a moment to realize what she was looking at as she took in the scene of Spectrum Knights and their families desperately boarding...ships! "Jessie, we can-" A blast of scarlet energy tore past Aquaria, making her shriek in terrified rage as she vaulted backwards, losing her grip on Jessie in the process. "By the Great Galaxy!" She recognized a Star Knight well enough, even if she knew nothing about the furry humanoid underneath the armor that looked a little like one of the canines on the Surface of Earth. The hangar doors were open and as a vessel took off, she could see the big hole through which the Star Knight had entered. Pressing his wrist, Star Knight Glart signaled his commanding officer. "Sir! They have a...Class 5 clone!" Terror and awe stood out in his voice at the sight not of Aquaria - but of the semi-conscious figure of Jessie White she held, ignoring even the glowing blue figure of Bie Yie behind her.
  6. Bie Yie: Blasts Aquaria http://orokos.com/roll/340319 = 16 And misses! Move Action: Flies for the hangar, correctly guessing her intent Aquaria: makes an accelerated move towards a spaceship! But she has a surprise waiting for her. Star Knight A: Enters the initiative order! (Aquaria takes an HP) He blasts Aquaria http://orokos.com/roll/340320 = 13 And also misses! Paradigm is up as soon as I post IC.
  7. Man, everyone's giving the Beast the business! http://orokos.com/roll/340301 = 26 Another bruise on him. Dragonfly is up.

  9. "That's stupid," said Riley, anger boiling at the injustice of it even as he stalked after Robin down the alley. "Not you, that's just...the superheroes just let this happen?" He thought of a gospel passed on at a martyr's deathbed, one of compassion and justice above all else. "Lady Liberty just lets it happen?" He seemed especially scandalized by that, even as he reached back to undo a strap holding his bow on, readying it for a quick draw-and-ready when he needed it. "People here have enough that everyone could eat anytime they wanted to - and sleep anywhere too, even as crowded 's'tis." He checked to make sure the Velcro on his hatchet was loose enough for a quickdraw, but not so loose as to attract a theft. "Not s'posed to be like this here."
  10. The three remaining Spectrum Knights (have an HP, TT!) will blast, let's say Traveller! http://orokos.com/roll/339700 Luckily they botched their Combined Attack, so that's just one DC Tou save, Traveller!
  11. Riley had watched Phaedra with only moderate interest - it wasn't that her wings weren't cool, really, just that he'd seen people do plenty weirder things around Earth-Prime. "Be nice, Jimmy," he called, "she probably gets enough questions about those." He added a smile to show the other boy he didn't mean it so much, then gave Robin a quick nod. "Let's go." He and Robin headed straight for the manor's kitchen, following the directions given them by Huang. As soon as the swinging doors closed behind them, he put his arms around her and gave her a tight squeeze, hands around her stomach. "Baby, you look freakin' hot," he told her, with rather more fire of his own than he'd been willing to show in front of the others. "Let's get the stuff." The bottles in the fridge, carefully placed there by Huang after his parents had left, were repurposed glassware that Riley had used his pocket money to buy from a shop in Bayview. Their contents were dark and fizzy, and light and fizzy, respectively. "That 'ne's blackberry," said Riley, pointing to one, "and that one's lemonade. Man, you know it took less than a week to make both a' these?" he marveled as they got the two bottles out. "Woulda taken months back home to make anything that wasn't rotgut. But I think you'll like this. You want first taste?" he offered her.
  12. Okay, if I'm reading it right, she breaks out.
  13. The Beast: Taunt: 11 Drain vs 27: 23 Damage vs 32: 27 Nausease vs 27: 11 He is Bruised x2, sickened, dazed, and his Fort save is down by -4. Since Jill's just an NPC, I'll go ahead and Fiat off that dazed. Willow is up
  14. Okay, the Snare has TOU 14, so the DC to inflict damage on it is 24. Jesse's check to break inanimate objects is +14 Extraordinary effort will let you add +4 to that at the cost of being exhausted next round unless Aquaria gives you an HP to raise you to Fatigued.
  15. Singularity is up! It's a STR check to break the Snare. Let me post IC so TT can describe what Cavalier sees.
  16. Riley pulled up his poncho's hood and started walking, falling into Woodsman mode as they patrolled the streets. This was familiar enough, at least, even if doing it at street level put him on edge. Coupla hundred in each building, he thought, scanning each one with a practiced eye as he walked by. If they all came at us at once, I let Fred do her thing while I go up and snipe from rooftop level. Robin can be backup for Alkahest, she's got the muscle for it. It occurred to him that there were probably more normal people in a few blocks of the Fens than he'd seen in his whole life back in his version of Freedom City. "Why do they do that?" he asked, his voice serious. "Don't they know they'd be choking on their own crap if those people stopped?"
  17. Knight 2 http://orokos.com/roll/339519 = also down!
  18. "Uh..." Riley shot a look at Robin past the back of Fred's head, his eyebrows knitting together at this turn of events. His Whaaat? was clearly written on his face. He hadn't really discussed things with Robin ahead of time, but he'd spent the last few days doing some very personal research and had made...plans for the weekend. "City's got some, uh, dumps," he said, his voice a little awkward (and once again dipping into the contralto) before he brought it back under control. "Used to go there for the methane. Good backup power source. They come'n trucks'n take it away." Most of his childhood experience in garbage trucks had been the ones converted into emergency housing, but that was neither here nor there.
  19. For his part, Steve sat down on the couch, the specially reinforced springs (reinforced, he remembered, after what had been a far more pleasant day than this) groaning slightly beneath his weight. He didn't press Gina in her sanctum, knowing she would be uninterested in talking to him (or anyone else) for quite some time. One of the Emersons took this opportunity to roll up to his leg and 'look' up at him, red LED lights seeming to lock its gaze on him. "Do you need company?" he asked the robot seriously. The Emersons were sometimes programmed to act like the canines and other domestic species of Earth-Prime, driven by the inner workings of the AI. I have slept out here before. I will sleep out here again. He glanced at the shuttered windows, the glowing red eyes of the Emerson robot the only illumination in the room. "There are worse places than this."
  20. OK, so she spends a Move Action getting out her Gadgets and then a Standard Action attacking. http://orokos.com/roll/339343 = Bruised! He is a tough customer. Go ahead and post IC, Miss A.
  21. http://orokos.com/roll/339224 = 29!
  22. Suddenly, the ground beneath their feet rumbled , alarms going off in the few remaining cars still in the parking lot. Suddenly a fiery form erupted from under the asphalt itself, sending fragments of molten tar flying everywhere. Burning bright and standing on black asphalt that melted at her touch, the too-bright figure was just barely recognizable as a human woman beneath a blue-white flame that erupted from every fiber of her slim frame. "Aucune forêt ne peut se tenir avant L'incendie!" she declared as she raised her arms, and with a whoompf suddenly the plants and other barriers Willow had summoned to help keep away tourists were burning to so many ashes, flames racing across them with the speed of lightning, the security barriers set up by the Archtech crew proving equally vulnerable to the sudden, carefully controlled forest fire! A moment later, a heavily-muscled figure in a black, yellow, and red jumpsuit crashed down into the middle of the small group of heroes, a sinister smile beneath his big, bushy black mustache. "Save some for me, Genevieve!" he called with false bravado before he lashed out at Jill O'Cure with a fist the size of her head, trying to catch her in his meaty grip. He laughed, not looking put off by his brief failure. "You should have listened to the Master, ma petite." He licked his lips with a feral intensity, locking eyes on Jill that looked not simply wicked, but with a soul behind them that reveled in that wickedness. "Now you're gonna know the Fury of La Bête!" Overhead, a man flew by in white robes almost too fast to be seen, his garments recognizable as a traditional panling lanshan to anyone looking too closely at the masked figure, his cracked porcelain mask obscuring his face. But no one was looking at his face, not as a beam of blazing white energy shot from his hands and blasted up the ground at Willow's feet, cratering the pavement and making the whole area shake with the sheer power of the blast! When the dust cleared, the man (riding some sort of personal dragon?) was gone - but the hole he had left was deep enough to see the sewers cracked up beneath!
  23. Bombshell and Miss Americana hold their actions! Fire: Move Action: Burrow up in the middle of the group Standard Action: Counter Willow's Environmental Control http://orokos.com/roll/339204 = 32! Beast: Move Action: Leaps onto the scene (he's close enough to interpose for any attacks vs the Fire) Standard Action: Grabs for the closest thing to another French person there, Jill O'Cure! http://orokos.com/roll/339207 = 20 Ah well, such is life, The DC to hit him is now 15! Withering: Move Action: Flies overhead Standard Action: Uses Move-By Action to blast his fellow cosmic energy user - Willow! http://orokos.com/roll/339211 = 11 Welp, the Atavisms are really making a mark on the scenery here. He uses the rest of his Move Action to fly away! Let me post OOC and Bombshell is up.
  24. Dimitri had been about to tell Talya that yes, of course the people they'd known in their youths would have done much better with eternity than them - though Talya had certainly done more with hers than he had. As it was, when Min entered the room, Frost was silent for a moment as he took in the relationship laid out before his eyes between Willow and Bombshell. "Ah-hah! So this is mysteeeerious West End lover. Very nice, Talya, I know Willow from times we travel to other dimension and defeat decadent bourgeois cult of plant-worshippers. What a time that was!" He winked at the immortal plant controller. "But I think this is first time I have seen her out of uniform!" Frost was himself still in his own, for all that his hood was pulled down. "See if they have 'Sacred War', is always favorite tune." He had no real idea how MP3 players worked, having only reluctantly given up on cassettes, but he trusted Talya knew what she was doing. "Have you any liquor here, Willow?" he inquired ingenously. "We have left vessel in car."

Woodsman got to be a biological man just one time and that's all it takes! So was born a child, raised in a household that didn't really gender-conform, with Ultiman blood in their veins and training by people who knew what it was like to see everything crumble and die in front of them. So this is my take on a Woodsman/Nighthawk mashup! Zie is that rare thing, a weapon master with a damage tradeoff! One shot from hir arrow can go right through solid steel, and that explosive arrow isn't just a hand grenade; it's a bomb as powerful as a tank shell going off! Swift may not be very good at getting out of the way of damage, but with that massive Toughness and Regeneration, who cares? Zie's an excellent sniper and tracker, and far more mobile than her sturdy frame would necessarily suggest. Hir bow is HUGE, with a pull far too heavy for anyone other than someone with enhanced strength, or at least peak human strength, to use. I made Swift a craftsman, easily capable of fixing and repairing that bow even in rugged circumstances, but you could tweak those skills and feats easily enough. With skills shuffled around, this character could easily be someone injected with super-soldier serum who prefers a bow and arrow to a shield...
