Go ahead and spend those PP! I'd suggest you tag your saves. Love the background and the concepts. -
Hey, Nexus, you should not really be adding background detail here. The room doesn't look like your description. You should edit your post accordingly.

Solidified again, Comrade Frost stared unhappily down (and up) at the pitiful remains of the giant cow. "Poor old girl," he said with a sigh, bending down over its remains. "Were we in your spot?" He bent down over the corpse and ran his hand through the bloody mess, the red liquid crystallizing at his touch. He pulled up his hand, covered in rapidly cooling blood and ice, and methodically licked it clean. "Might as well start butchering this poor girl," said Frost as he looked at Wraith, not appearing to blame her for the dead animal. "You ever butcher meat for humans, girl? I show you tricks. Your friends will need _meat_ for coming journey - and we could build a fire." Tarva hugged Kimber closely; one half of her face invisible and the other half obscured by Kimber's hair, with only one wide, pale eye visible for a moment. "I...I..." She growled into Kimber's head like a feral she-cat and seemed to swallow something that had threatened to erupt out her mouth. "We need to find the rest of them and kill them so that they can't hurt anyone else," she said, her voice raw and soft as if she'd burned her throat. "Hey, you guys all right down there?" said Citizen, making a landing amid the little group. "I saw a lot of...crazy stuff."

*Nina al-Darsah goes on 24 Nina: 24 Cerulean: 13 Nina goes ahead and attempts her Damaging Move Object vs that troublesome Create Object. For his part, Comrade Frost showed no such scruples about attacking the blind. Narrowly avoiding Equinox's wintry strike, a blast that practically froze what little air was in his undead lungs, Frost erupted into smoke and mist as he entangled himself around the legs of the last standing giant cow. A faint patina of frost creeped up the limbs of the blindy stumbling creature, but it showed no signs of stopping. Damn! I suppose I should have tried harder - opened a deeper vortex. Unbidden, an image of himself in the long-dead past came to mind; a Ukranian winter, standing knee-deep in cattle manure, the stink of it in his arms, a bottle in the mouth of a newborn calf who had so far refused to suck. Of course we had to slaughter mother and babe both He'd always had a soft spot for cattle after that, even wild ones. - "Kimber! No!" Tarva erupted in a cloud of black smoke just inches away from Koshiro, accompanied by two shadowy figures cut in an indistinctly humanoid shape. When she saw that Kimber's ally had the situation in hand, she turned to the last aurochs and began chanting, black, shadowy energy forming around her hands. Her shadowy 'companions' did the same thing, as if mirroring their master's spell, and when Tarva spoke her voice had grown rougher and more guttural - and distinctly dropped an octave. "I WILL FLAY THE SKIN FROM YOUR FLESH AND FEED IT TO YOUR YOUNG! SO SAYS TARVA THE BLACK!"

Kindness To Every Living Thing
Avenger Assembled replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in The Realms Beyond
Iceland was, in Cerulean's home timeline, a nation of farmers, tourists, and volcanoes - the Iceland of Ird seemed broadly similar. But she could pick out differences from the air as she went - the towns covered with translucent domes, the nearly-trackless countryside crossed by cattle and horses roaming free and passed overhead by flying cars, that told her she wasn't in Kansas anymore. If there even was a people who called themselves the Kansa that had diverged nearly 1500 years from her own. Reykjavík turned to be built in about the same place as in her home universe too, a city in southwestern Iceland tucked away in a lovely bay. Reykjavík was covered in a dome too, looking to the eyes of someone from Earth-Prime rather as if someone had taken Iceland before human arrival and plunked down a domed city from a science fiction novel. As she flew over the bay, a squadron of fighters peeled down from a high overflight to offer an escort, and for a moment or two, as the X-shaped silvery craft took up a position on each side, everything seemed to be going well. Until the oceans rose up before her! The fighters peeled off wildly as the pristine waters of the bay erupted into motion and a single humanoid figure clad in an armored blue costume arose out of the ocean just a few hundred yards in front of her. She didn't immediately recognize the woman inside the costume, but she could see her power; the water that hung from her hands like long, deadly whips, the curling wave of ocean beneath her feet that supported her in the air, and the amplified voice that came from the armored figure certainly sounded powerful. "Surrender, outlander, in the name of the Jamahiriya! You and the criminal scientist who brought you here are the property of the Revolution!" She punctuated her words by lashing out at Cerulean, 'cracking the whip' against the sphere of light that surrounded her with a blow made from hardened, focused water. The sphere fractured, but didn't break, making her antagonist's eyes widen in surprise. -

Harrier does the same. -
Caradoc placed the tip of his blade against the ground and leaned forward, bowing his head as if in an attitude of prayer. "Given technological help, empathic attacks can be launched that stimulate all neural frequencies simultaneously - cybernetically-controlled brain tissue, the world-shattering waves used by the great drone ships of Cosmic Entity #2006, the Black Singers of the..." His voice stopped with a quick contraction, as if he'd been about to say something too painful for words. Caradoc knew full well that his words wouldn't help Oracle with her efforts to track a source for this signal, so instead he concentrated on listening to it; immersing his mind in the darkness of the sound, casting about for anything familiar. He hadn't been lying - he'd heard plenty of broadcasts like this before. After a while, he hmmed. Lacking any knowledge of how to work the equipment, he was left with no way to solve the mystery he'd found. "There is a song here beyond the psychic distortions. Can the one be filtered from the other?"

Sharl's hair, digital or otherwise, stood on end as he turned to look at Set. He folded his arms, then half-unfolded them, as if he wasn't actually sure if he wanted to protect his torso or not. "Yeah, well, I'll admit you're a lot better than I thought you were." He stepped close to Eliza and decided what to do with his arms, which was to say put one around her waist. But the only combination that'll be happening is between me and Set. i mean, between me and Eliza! Dammit! His pale cheeks colored slightly. Set was in a male body and Sharl wasn't really attracted to male bodies - which left open the pleasant-yet-unpleasant idea that it was Set who he was actually attracted to. This would be easier if Set were in a female body, so I could just want to fornicate with her and not make it so weird. "Sometimes you can't really judge a person till you've seen all of them," he went on, meeting Set's eyes, then looking over at Eliza. "And we've certainly saw a lot of each other tonight."

The fight didn't last very long after that - the demon either not wanting to seriously face down the Russian ice controller or simply trying to flee the encounter entirely. It wasn't long before Lew Siffer rose up on his hind legs and flew out the hole he'd blown in the roof, the rapidly-ascending demon (who with his leathery wings and bright red skin looked almost like a pantomime's version of a demon) rising up and out quickly into the blue sky above. Normally Comrade Frost would have flown after him; after all, he could fly too on wings of frozen mist. But today he had a rather more serious problem. The flames the demon had been tossing around hadn't hurt him seriously - his costume was singed and his skin ached like one of the long-ago sunburns he'd once known, but he'd had far, far worse. The real issue was Isaac, the smart young fellow who'd tried to fight at his side and...where was he, anyway? He'd lost him in the struggle. Damn damn damn! So much trouble to be in! He cast his eyes around the burnt-out remains of the shop; his cold powers had kept the fire from spreading but it still looked as though a bomb had gone off inside it. "Isaac! Are you here? Speak to me!" he demanded.

The Ashes of This World
Avenger Assembled replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in Freedom City Stories
"Why would you do this?" demanded Talos through his pawn, suspicion coming through the remote link clearly despite the fact they were talking to a sentient machine. "The New Age has broken the metahumans of this world and stands within a few years of global mastery. You expect us to believe you have come out of the goodness of your squishy organic hearts?" "Because they're decent people!" called Artoo, who had evidently gained confidence from the way Talos was negotiating rather than attacking - for all that he still kept the heroes between himself and the robot armies. "They see what you've done and they care more about helping others than hurting you!" "Very well!" called the machine commander. "It does please the forces of the New Age to let you feed our organics. You may be ushered into the presence of Talos. But not with that one!" The guns turned from the heroes and all aimed themselves at Artoo, who to his credit didn't flinch even as he became the direct target of his people's enemy. "But the machine traitor may not be ushered into the presence of Talos. You will surrender him for destruction. Vigil! Seize the fugitive!" Rising from his position in the grass, Vigil, still shaken by what the team had brought to his homeworld, turned to the heroes - a question in his eyes.- 110 replies

A half-hour or so later, the heroes regrouped inside the cruise ship's staff conference room, located just across the cramped corridor from the small onboard clinic. The air stunk of blood and foulness, the air freshener inside their room doing all it could to keep them together. The foul smell fit the circumstances more than adequately. The situation was, by any standards, grim. Captain Festus, Chief Engineer Rediker, and the latter's three closest assistants were all unconscious with high fevers, dehydration, and who knew what else keeping them out for the count. With one onboard doctor and two nurses, the boat's onboard clinic could have handled anything up to a full-blown food poisoning epidemic - but so far it didn't seem to be that, either. "None of the radiation sensors down with the Eldridge engines were triggered," said Edge, looking fatigued as he sat around the plasterboard table and looked at the others. Mark was struck by the contrast between the fine meal they'd been enjoying just a little while earlier and the utilitarian surroundings they were in; right down to a whiteboard with the half-legible notes from a recent staff meeting against the wall. "At least, not as far as I can tell. I went ahead and sealed everything up down there anyway, just in case the ship is turning radioactive." "I've put Mirror and Brigandine to work controlling the passengers," said Monsoon, looking equally tense. "They're unhappy with what they've seen, but enough of them are from Freedom City that they are willing to listen to their heroes." She smiled thinly, darkly. "No one else has fallen ill - or at least, not fallen ill with anything but a case of nerves." At the moment of the 'incident', they'd lost all contact with the outside world. Radio, satellite, and phones, even those belonging to passengers, had all gone silent - right now the ship's crew, per Chief Forrest, were doing everything they could to try and resume contact with the outside.

"Are you capable of tracing the location of the telepathic signal?" Caradoc asked Oracle frankly. "I would find a way to do the same - but the electronic signal I traced came from here, this very building. I took no chances with yon destruction," he went on. "Better to damage all - than have all be damaged." He listened to the words of the technician, cocking his head, before saying gravely, "Instruct us in the operation of this system and then leave the area. Perhaps you could evacuate the building entirely," he added to Cannonade. "Assuming that we missed no one in our search." His grip tightened on his blade's handle as he turned his conversation to the technicians in the control room. "I am familiar with influences such as this - and Oracle has the power to control emotions. But you here need not cast your souls into the fire again."

"Not enough people," said Richard seriously before breaking into a quick smile. "You've got my card, and I know Paige has given you her number by now." He'd already programmed her number into his cellphone, of course, but he tried not to think about that kind of thing in an emergency situation. "Call us if we can help. We haven't been in your shoes - but we've walked down the same road." He thought for a second, then borrowed his card back to write a quick number on the back in black ink. "This is the number of our friend Austin Ames, he works at DeVries, the meta talent agency. He can't get you a contract without a lot of paperwork, but he can set you up with a temp job. If you want. Tell them I gave you the number." He knew it might mean nothing more than a phone call and a consultation fee for her - but if it paid off, what could it hurt? "You want a nightcap?" he offered. "Believe it or not, I actually can make something besides hummingbird juice in the Sodastream - we've got creme soda and root beer in glass bottles, some of the celery stuff the boy swears by..." Not knowing everything she'd wrestled with, he left liquor off the list.

"Hmm." Citizen hovered in the air for a moment, watching the brief melee. He'd been in a lot of super-battles in his day, especially in the last year or so, but fighting a rampaging animal was very different than a Terran or Tronikian criminal, or a monstrous Communion construct, for that matter. With that thought in mind, he flew up in the air, out of sight of the giant bulls and above the treeline, his sensors recording the awesome beauty of the landscape beneath before he moved with the speed of a Terran bullet, first flying away from the battlefield in order to work up the speed for a devastating, but hopefully well-placed, attack. With a crack, he rocketed through the trees, weaving between the giant trunks to throw the aurochs males off-balance, and to set up his blow. When he finally hit, he struck the creature in a spot where natural predators could never reach it - between the two giant horns that were surely meant for gutting wolves the size of city buses. The blow smashed the creature's head down, vibrations traveling through the braincase, and Sharl watched with satisfaction as it slumped to the ground with a low bellow. "Got one! They're easier than they look! Try to stun them instead of getting through the thick hide!" he called to the others, his artificial voice amplified.

Citizen attacks an Aurochs I will dub Aurochs #3. He will do a full All-Out Power Attack, using a Stunning Attack. http://orokos.com/roll/312087 = 19 Assuming that hits, I believe that's a Fort save of DC 10 + 15 + 5 = DC 30. The DC to hit Citizen is now 16.

A Picture of Sophisticated Grace (IC)
Avenger Assembled replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in Port Regal
For her part, Aquaria's mind fell far, far back, to the pods and spawning of her youth; her mind's eye swarming with clouds of young Deep Ones in the waters of the Caribbean, hunting fish and each other in the grand dance of youth. She thought of the mothers and fathers of the tribe, raising their young together as one, and how lonely the idea of mating with one being forever seemed - not to mention the way all Surfacers rutted with each other like it was dry season! But she had taken enough life skills classes to know that this was a big moment for Erin and her mate; and probably a hard one for Jessie, who had never mated with anybody. "Oh my!" She put her big hands over her mouth, big gold eyes bulging wide, and bobbed up and down on her long toes, carefully keeping her throat sacs from bulging. "That's amazing, Erin! You will be happy together and have many healthy offspring," she predicted confidently. She smiled with just the front of her mouth, fighting the urge to stuff her face with some delicious frozen crickets - probably her favorite treat here, especially when soaked with honey. But this was no time to be eating, especially when Jessie hardly looked to be in the mood. Sensing Jessie's unease, she went on, bringing her long hands down over her stomach. "Jessie and I should go swim around a little and see more of this place."- 115 replies

Frost grabbed the demon's arm, appreciative of his colleague's attempts to distract the demon. Hmm! Is he keeping a secret identity even now? Or have I gotten another civilian in danger? Ah, so many questions they will have for Frost..."Porheps icy cold of Nifleheim will chill your little rage, demon," sneered Frost, icy crystals rushing up the demon's arm. Frost dissolved into mist as Isaac watched, a white, icy mass that swarmed up the demon's body and engulfed him in a frozen cloud. From inside the cloud, Isaac could hear Frost adding, "Pathetic little demon, what do you have that could possibly - ah, suka, blyad..." As a flaming red cloud erupted from the half-visible demon's eyes, it wasn't hard to tell why Frost had started cursing! The ball of fire erupted over the two heroes, engulfing them both in a wash of flame! When Frost could see again, he was in the middle of the shop, or rather what was left of it. Luckily his grapple with the demon had sent most of the blast into the air; the room he and Isaac had been standing in was shattered and smoldering, but the fiery eruption had mostly destroyed the roof, blowing it entirely off the ramshackle antique store. Things are not going well! "Isaac, are you well?" he called, facing down the now-red-eyed demon, whose leathery black wings were beginning to unfold behind his crouching fiery form.

She recognizes the name of al-Darsah from her own world - Amir al-Darsah, aka Typhoon, is a notorious supervillain in the Dr. Doom model, ruling the independent Kingdom of Socotra. Sounds like his double isn't too dissimilar! http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/guide/places-of-freedom/earth-prime-places/socotra-r18/ As for that low, low, incredibly low Notice check, well - http://orokos.com/roll/311593 = 22! As far as Cerulean knows, she made a clean getaway. You can go ahead and get one more post in, then I'll get us to Iceland where more stuff can happen of some variety or another.
