  1. "Who would do this? A jerk!" exclaimed Fast-Forward, dusting himself off and checking his injuries. Gonna feel that tomorrow. Man, my favorite shirt! He zipped over and kissed Hologram on the cheek, quickly normalizing her black entropic eyes. "Nice one, honey. Looks like you really put some starch in his shorts." Looking around the scene of the carnage, he went on, "I guess there's Silver Scream. She loves horror and she hates television. Crazy ghost lady," he went on, "used to work with my ma. I didn't know her that well," he admitted, "Ma didn't think she was appropriate for a kid to hang out with." Still, he did his best to remember what he'd heard about a woman he'd only really known from stories decades previously. "She was an old-timey actress who did a lot of horror movies, then stuck around to do some more scaring once she was dead. She knows what year it is, but she's still stuck in the 1940s inside her head. Grody." He looked over at Temperance. "Hey, you're a spirit wizard, right? Can you look around for old ghosts?"
  2. Take an HP, everybody! Luckily Singularity and Wander are immune to poison - and Aquaria is a Deep One. They all have Slow Fall, too! Aquaria, Singularity, and Monsoon are all up - I'll get a post up ASAP.
  3. Wander hit the creature in the eye, again and again - and then the Frog-Bat-Lizard exploded! Or, rather, it reverted to its liquid state as if an inner switch had been turned off. This was no small thing, given the sheer mass of the tremendous flying creature - as long as a multi-story building and as wide across the face as a house, and evidently solid through from the extent of the bizarre fluid produced by the transformation. A tremendous gush of greenish fluid came cascading down from the sky (along with Singularity, Wander, and Aquaria) to drench a whole block of small houses right at the edge of the park. Luckily it happened to hit a vacant lot, so that as it hit the nearby houses it was only low enough to break windows on the first floor. Nobody was outside to be knocked down by the wave, not in Seattle in December on Christmas, but the crash of breaking glass and shouts from inside the houses as the wave pooled through the neighborhood told the heroes some significant property damage had been done. The fluid was sticky and warm as it covered Wander, Singularity, and Aquaria, and the snow melted and discolored wildly wherever it hit. Still hovering, Monsoon just barely avoided getting doused herself by the tidal wave. Fully familiar with the effects of tidal waves, she flew down to an now-cracked open window to assess the damage - it looked like the parents inside the house had been in the middle of laying Christmas presents under the tree when the wave had cracked in and doused everything. "Hello, so sorry about the mess," she began to offer, "let me help you clean that up!" the last word was more of a rising shout because the couple inside, their holiday sweaters ruined by the greenish dousing, had risen as one and headed for the door. They, and other people below on the street, had begun to chant a word in Lemurian. "COMMUNION! COMMUNION!"
  4. That hits! http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4767048/= 19 Bruised and dazed this round. Jill is up
  5. "The natives are restless," muttered Monsoon as she peered down from a rooftop. "Stirred up by their tribal passions, ready to make sacrifices to their god...I will meet you soon." - A few minutes later, Joe was joined on the streets by a young woman in smart Western business dress. Nina still couldn't pass for the Aryan ideal - but in a black business dress and short heels, she looked like any other office worker rather than the ranting madwoman who had challenged Dutch society and history to its very core. "I have been thinking," she informed Joe, "and I am one of the good ones. I hate the Muslim fanatics for what they have done to my country and I love the civilization that America and Europe brought to the benighted hellhole that is my homeland." She sniffed. "You didn't tell them about your Arab girl because you wanted to make sure they were defenders of culture, not racists." She sniffed again, holding back a laugh, and wound up having to tilt her head back with a tissue from her pocket to hold off a nosebleed. "Ugh. Just a minute." When she was ready to go. she took Joe's arm and said, "Come on, babe, lead the way," in an American accent that sounded a lot like Mark's vaguely newscaster voice.
  6. With direct assault failing, Sharl thought fast, dipping so low that he flew right past the curtain of compu-jackals and hovered just a few feet above the ground, directly over the heart of the nanite infestation. Retuning the X-ray generators that let him fire lasers out his eyes, Citizen peered right through the thick layer of computronium beneath his feet. Of course! A substance that transmits electrical impulses so efficiently would have to be nearly transparent on the high-EM band! "I can see the main processor," he called over the radio, his robotic voice deep and urgent. "It's dispersed through the whole nano-structure. There's some right under the mound, but I don't have the power to get through this much computronium. I'm going to try assuming remote control! If this doesn't work, direct interface is next." He stared at the processor network beneath his feet and let his consciousness unfocus, reaching out with his mind to intersect with the machinery below the same way Gina intersected with the Miss Americana processors. Come on you murdering bastards, see how a thinking machine does it! As he did so, blue fire began to ripple across the outside of the 'lake' of nanites, the systems that had been reconstituting deeper and deeper layers of sand into compu-jackals now being commanded to glow in the triple half-circle of Citizen, matching the clearly visible symbol on the robot's chest.
  7. The monster is flat-footed Tou vs DC 39 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4766302/= 21 hum! I'll have to think about that.
  8. Okey-dokey! Go ahead and get set up for that. Multiple attackers can attempt to combine their attacks to overwhelm an opponent’s defenses. The attackers must all delay to the same point in the initiative order (that of the slowest character). Each attacker makes a normal attack roll against the target. Take the largest save DC modifier of the attacks that hit, and for each other attack within 5 points of that attack’s bonus that hits, add +2. The attacks must all require the same type of saving throw in order to combine, for example attacks doing damage (requiring a Toughness save) can combine, but not with a Mental Blast or a Stun effect, which do not call for Toughness saves. Although a combined attack is similar to aiding someone (see page 154) it is not the same, and bonuses applying to aid do not apply to combined attacks. So it looks like Cobalt Templar and Wander can do that on this round.
  9. Super-Senses 8 (Analytical Visual Senses, Communication Link [warehouse HQ], Direction Sense, Infravision, Radio Sense, Spatial Awareness [visual], Uncanny Dodge [radio]) [8PP] With the above package? She can't see much - there's no obvious signs of what the spaceship is doing. But she can see signs of electrical activity at the edges of the cloud, where it bumps up against the dome. She can also see the vibrations and alarms going off inside the dome. Something is attacking it!
  10. Citizen flies within ten feet of the mound and attempts to make contact via Datalink. Spending an HP on the Computers check http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4766034/= Nat 20! 34!
  11. Bee Attacks: 3-6 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4765314/ = all but 6 hit, hitting Mosquitos 3-5 Mosquito 3 Is bruised and dazed Mosquito 4 Taking another Staggered, is now unconscious Mosquito 5 is bruised and dazed
  12. In the air, Monsoon did her best to follow Midnight's command. Sword in hand, she fearlessly faced down the monster - water erupting from the sound to wrap around the monster like gleaming silvery ropes. But the ropes found no purchase, sliding off the smooth scales of the creature's belly. Confronted with something she wasn't powerful enough to defeat, Nina didn't run - instead she faced it down and pushed herself, blood in her eyes as blood vessels popped. Cursing in Arabic, she finally jerked out of the way at the last minute, flying after the creature as if she was about to cut it out of the sky with nothing but the blade in her hand.
  13. Giz, if Citizen flies down to eyerange of the mound and uses his Penetrates Concealment, what does he see?
  14. Using the Goetic Infernalist at PL 12... http://orokos.com/roll/251240= 20! He fails exactly by 15, so he is unconscious.
  15. Let's say she hits Giant Mosquitos 3 and 4 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763497/= 1 makes the Reflex save, one does not http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763498/= 16! Four rolls a 1 and is staggered and dazed http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763500/= Three just makes the save. Gaian Knight hits 4 and 5 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763504/= 4 makes the save, that sly dog, and 5 does not http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763506/= 5 is unhurt http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763507/= and so is 4
  16. Hey, Jack actually figured something out! (Why do you sound so surprised, AA?) Anyhow - They're going to head for the dome and break in to steal, or smash, the Moonstone! Who are _they_? Hmmm!
  17. Silence crackled on everyone's comm systems as the energized Lunar dust, blocking everyone's comm signals. Inside her sanctuary in the dome, Gina Evans felt the link go dead as if she'd tried to fly into a rainstorm. Sensing trouble, Harrier raised his pike and fired straight up - blinded or not, his instincts were true and he struck the ship above dead on. It was a palpable hit, one that smashed into the hull of the craft above near a weapons port and overloaded the cannon, producing an internal explosion in the vessel itself. Trying to fire through the cloud, it didn't sound like the Knights were that lucky. Meanwhile, inside the dome, Gina could feel vibrations permeating the whole structure as something began pounding on the sides - and then the sound of depressurization alarms from outside her shelter as something broke through!
  18. His Bluff is high enough that he can figure out that the real prize is what's inside the dome! Give me an INT check (with Tactics if he has any) to see if he can figure out what the real prize is! (Jill can do the same thing; as can everyone else, for that matter)
  19. Geckoman speaks - but nobody hears a thing, eee! SOME GUY: Move Action: Fly to the Dome Standard Action: Blast the Dome! Tou vs DC 25 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763143/= 29 It holds, for now! Harrier: is staggered! He fires a shot up at the ship overhead. Can he hit a target with Concealment? http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763155/= 16, yes http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763150/ He hits. Tou vs 27 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763152/= 18 Injured and Dazed (its Tou is currently at +10 with the effects of the Drain) Pink: Fires a shot at the ship too http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763159/= 2 but misses ANOTHER BAD GUY: Move Action: Flies over with the first bad guy Standard Action: Blasts the dome! http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763165/= it fails by 12, enough to blast a hole in the side! Pink doesn't know about the people blasting the dome - and doesn't care about the people blasting the dome anyway. Attack vs the ship http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4763168/= another miss! Jack of all Blades is up as soon as I post IC. The Obscure effect of the dust is a Visual + Radio Obscure. There's no air where they are, so no auditory stuff works. Which means no actions for Miss A as long as the Radio effect is up. Have an HP for being a robot, Miss A, if nobody counters or nullifies the effect before you go.
  20. Tiamat is up in the other side of the thread.
  21. As Gabriel's music filled the air, two mighty hosts collided in the skies overhead! The war over the murdered city was a war like no other, one that saw gigantic bee pitted against gigantic mosquito amid fire and flame. Daniels, their contact, stood agape at a war that, even after all the horrors he had seen, was like nothing he'd ever known before! In the skies, Super-Bee was in trouble - trading blows unsuccessfully with one of the giant mosquitos before the two caromed off a ruined skyscraper, sending chunks of debris and writhing insectoid forms plummeting down to the streets below. Another bee was doing her best to burn down a mosquito, but the giant insect pushed through the flames and nearly went for her. Warriors born, the bees were fearlessly locked in battle against the Anopheles hordes - but it was clear they would need help from their friends to win the day. - "Well." At the all-too-familiar sights of cultists, ritual, and unholy magic, Comrade Frost didn't hesitate. He stepped out from behind the furnace and removed his glove, standing to one side of the body of maddened fiends as he reached inside himself and opened a doorway to another world. The mystic rites that connected him to Nifleheim worked here as well as anywhere else - icy cold poured from his hands as heat, energy, and all that made up life itself was drained out of the cultists before they had a chance to react. They collapsed like felled deer, shivering and gasping, icy hoarfrost having swept over their stained robes at super-speed. Only one of the cultists was left standing on the floor; along with the leader still on his podium by the great machine.
  22. Comrade Frost: Comrade Frost steps ahead of Fleur de Joie and uses his Mass Heat Drain. He takes 10 vs the cultists (who are minions) - and all but one go down. Fleur is up
