  1. can't beat that on a natural 20, so he is taunted His Reflex save is now +3 vs 17 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4595601/ = 19! Holy boy, he made it. OK! I'll post for Stratos ASAP
  2. New round! Terrifica is up. Feel free to stunt something to get close I think our only change in status conditions is that Southern Belle is bruised, and Temperance is currently bound and helpless.
  3. To Temperance's (and everyone else's horror), the Confederate-empowered paragon shrugged her shoulders and shattered the ice with a single flex of mighty muscles. And then, her eyes glowing an ominous shade of red, white and blue all mixed together, she focused directly on Temperance! "Ah know you, Jessie Belle!" She pointed a finger at Temperance and erupted into the air until she was within inches from the watery elementalist, this close the spirit that possessed the policewoman writhing with hate and madness behind the living woman's eyes. "Has SHE summoned you!? Do you mock me even from the grave, SCARLET TEMPTRESS?!?" She reached out and with lightning-fast speed and grabbed her by the throat with both hands and Eliza felt her begin to squeeze with greater-than-human strength. "Ah sent you to Hell once, AH CAN DO IT AGAIN!"
  4. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4595531/ = 24 Not intimidated And that misses! Southern Belle attacks Temperance She switches to her Enhanced STR + Super-Strength array slow Standard Action: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4595533/ = 28 She All-Out Attacks for +2, giving her a +14 Unarmed Attack bonus - which hits! Grapple check: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4595541/ = 24 Wow, that's a bad roll! Temperance could potentially beat it.
  5. Whoops, looks like I skipped Temperance - go ahead and post, TT
  6. All right, give me an Arcane Lore roll for Sojourner - with a +2 bonus for each sibling (and +1 for each parent or great-grandparent).
  7. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4595438/ = 12 Well boo, that's a little unreasonable! Instead he's bruised again - have another HP, Shaen, as well as the one you got for him fiating the dazed.
  8. There was a thunderous BOOM from above, and suddenly Weather Mistress came hurtling back towards from where she'd come at tremendous speed - only a lucky caroming off the walls of the shattered warehouse keeping her from doing any further damage as she hit the ground. A smoking char over her chest showed where a tremendous lightning bolt had swatted her from the sky. From above, Dr. Stratos reappeared over the opening in the roof of the warehouse, looking pleased as punch with his accomplishments. "There! Now, you see!" he said beaming. "I am Dr. Sebastian Stratos, criminal genius and lord and master of the weather, just as I've been telling everyone all this time." He spread his arms. "Hey, you guys aren't so bad after all, even if you do hit pretty hard, Viking Lady. Do you need me to come down to the station, sign some kind of form, so you can lock that crazy lady up? And maybe give that Wand of hers, she stole that technology from me years ago!"
  9. Stratos blasts Weather Mistress - http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4594313/ = 31 Ouch! DC of 33 with that crit Well http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4594316/ = 18 She is out of it for now
  10. Her Penetrating is juuuust too low to get through Southern Belle's Impervious - but she does taunt her successfully.
  11. Tarva's thoughts were full of silent fears - but the overwhelming terrors that had washed out into Sage's mind were done. After a little while, she was able to think again and led them forward, vanishing herself into a shadowy outline plastered flat against the wall. Eventually they reached what was evidently their destination, a line of black steel ductwork who scalloped vents were trivially easy for Wraith and Ghost Girl to pass through. Getting Eve through was a little trickier, but shadowy magic in the form of wriggling black tentacles that with spiky mouths (one of which distinctly addressed Ghost Girl with a cheery, slithering whisper of "Hello, Rebe-!" before vanishing) slid the panel aside just long enough for the dextrous Blue Fox to make her way into the great vault that Tarva had led them to. It was an unsettling place. There were no Omegadrones visible, why would there be here in the heart of Steelgrave's great fortress. Instead there were vast transparent pipes that stretched upward like a cathedral's ceiling and down like a valley's depths, an unnnerving, vaguely unEuclidian geometry that was accompanied by a slow, regular THROB of a distant pulse from beneath their feet - and with every throb came movement in the pipes, a silvery fluid that sloshed back and forth with a too-thick, too-reflective radiance that shone with an oily sheen that seemed to speak of slow, wriggling sensation down the spine.
  12. "We should support you. After all, we started it," replied Mark with a crooked smile as he took Eve's hand. "Nina and I, that is, not-" "-UNISON," he finished as they arrived in the infirmary again. "There was an assassination attempt made against Typhoon." The princess, at her mother's side, gave Eve a tight little smile. "We stopped it, and rescued the assassin, who turned out to be Nina's mother. And after we made it here, something happened with Typhoon and the Charles De Gaulle." "It makes no sense that my father would simply go to war with the French Navy on a whim," said Nina as she rose to her feet, her gloved hand on her mother's "He has no reason to believe that...there was any connection to what happened today."
  13. "Long ago, in the days before this world harnessed the power of the skies, there was another world. A world with an Atlantis, and a Sword, and those who wielded it throughout history. By the time of my grandparents, those who carried the sword were the Champions of Liberty, leaders and captains of the Heroic Assembly." It might have been a proud memory, except that Steve slunk down in his seat as he spoke, the chair creaking beneath his great weight. "When Steelguard began to change, it was the Champion of Liberty who spoke out against him. Until his capture and death. In the days before his end, my mother visited him in his cell to rebuke him in Steelguard's name. Not long after that, Omega's vessel appeared above the capitol, and the end of all things came. Steelgrave has the blade of that world still." He looked up at Argonaut and said, "Yes. My parents were of that world, just as I am of dread Nihilor. If Steelgrave is struck down by mehe will return, as when his clone was killed by my replacement during the Day of Wrath. As will Omega, in time. You and I, and all of existence, face an enemy that cannot be destroyed, that cannot be overthrown, that can only be...defeated. It is our fate." He looked down at the sword and said, "This sword belongs to no body made by laws and governments. It belongs to all."
  14. -Oh my God!- Richard's voice exclaimed across his psychic link to his wife as he jumped to his feet. Surprise warred with anger, unjustified though it was, as he took in the sight of a man he hadn't seen in twenty-five years. -Goddamit, why is he alive and everyone else is dead?- Time slowed to a crawl around him, the fracas between Slamdance's puppets and the rest of the crowd put on pause thanks to his mastery of time. He took in the scene and shook his head. -Look at him, screwing around with a bunch of hipsters and old people. I don't think he's even robbing the place! What an ass.- He stripped out of his clothes and into his Fast-Forward costume, picoseconds later helping Paige don her Hologram togs. They were old hands at this by now, and worked together like veterans. -All right, I remember what hitting this guy does, so I'm on evac patrol- Zipping around, Fast-Forward busied himself with evacuating the civilians, pulling them into his personal time bubble and running with them right out the door. As usual they were surprised to find the world put on pause all around them, but his quick reassurances and ready smile seemed to set them at ease. "Don't worry, folks, heroes are on the scene, we've got this! Don't worry, it's all totally copacetic, we've got this guy right where we want him. Better clear the area," he added as he closed the door behind the last of the bookstore patrons, all of whom had (from the perspective of anyone outside his speed) just appeared out of nowhere. "It's gonna be a bumpy night!" "Hey, Slamdance!" he added with a shout as he closed the door. "What, you've got a midlife crisis and you have to take it out on everybody else? Kids decide you were listening to too much Clash, or Wallbanger, or whatever you called that punk crap back in the day?"
  15. "Steelgrave's aggressions against this world are not driven by the sword, but by his desire to profane its defenders and cast all that lives here into the ever-burning fires of the Doom Coil." Surely a drone must know these things - must have heard the words in her mind for uncounted days of endless nightmare until her liberation. But perhaps she was like Prometheus and had no recall of those days. "The forces of the Terminus are not pirates, or bandits, or even conquerors. They come to destroy, to violate, to murder. This sword is simply the private obsession of one Annihilist. It is better kept in the hands of those who have defeated the forces of the Terminus before."
  16. "So that is the A on your armor," remarked Harrier as he bent down to retrieve the sword, mindful of the injuries he'd sustained in their terrible fight with Newman. "I had wondered." The people of Earth-Prime did love their secrets, he mused. Argonaut having been found and restored to life to AEGIS would explain why he had never heard of an Omegadrone active on the side of good on Earth-Prime. When the sword was in his hand, he reassured her. "Worry not. Caradoc is a close ally of Miss American and Dragonfly, and the Sword will be protected by the greatest defenders of Earth-Prime." The realization that this was, in fact, the Sword of the Liberator in his hand, the one his parents had told him of as a child, was only gradually beginning to catch up with him after the events of this long, hard day. "I have seen this broken and smashed so many times," he commented quietly as he studied the gleaming blade. "To see it now in safe hands is...remarkable."
  17. Stalking the room like a bored predator, Jade Harper gave no sign of noticing Errant's tension. All her attention was focused on the still-blushing Paulette, who had as if by magic manifested another flaming knife in her other hand - the two weapons held casually by her side. "You know, Psion, one of your brothers actually made a pass at me the other day. Funny, I thought us Oriental girls weren't what you people liked." She started tossing her own knife back and forth, and watching Errant could actually see the exact forms he'd been taught by his trainers, perfectly mirroring the combat style of New Freedom's greatest warriors. "Not that I have any interest in making babies for the New Race, or whatever it is your father is after these days." "You are a mighty warrior with great power, Ms. Harper," replied Paulette evenly, her voice now returning to normal. "Even if your politics aren't as advanced as my family's, you'd still make a fine leader of the New Race in the years to come." She slowly put her blades away and even gave Jade a winning smile at that, having judged her a greater threat than Cho. "Well...that's certainly true," Jade allowed with a predator's smile. "Three minutes," she added to the others, her smile dropping.
  18. Nina stared at Trevor in disbelief, then her eyes widened when she saw the look of unhappy resolution on Mark's face that told her Trevor was telling the truth. "He wouldn't capture it. He would sink it." Nina looked from her mother to Mark, then at the others for a moment, before she stood up. "But why would he...never mind. Mark, dress me for war. I can't let you face my family alone, especially if they have all lost their minds today." She stood up, resplendent even in her rags and borrowed black bathrobe. "We will solve this problem together." "Together," agreed Mark, feeling a swell of pride in his girlfriend as she made the decision to stand with them against the forces of her father. Mark pointed at Nina and the air around her seemed to ripple before her clothes reshaped themselves - not into the long, confining black dress she'd been wearing when the day started, but something else - a black costume consisting of a pair of pants and a long sleeved tunic, with a black hood attached with pieces clipped together. "Will you be all right, Ms. Antar?" he asked Nina's mother, a serious look on his face. "I will be well in this bed if you return, but..." She looked at the others and said, "Typhoon has no quarrel with France. He knows I have been living in exile in Oman; he knows I could not have returned without help. He and his spawn have crossed the sea for revenge. If you stand against him, it will be war." "We're heroes," replied Mark, taking Nina's hand. "We don't start wars. We end them." And with that, he disappeared, leaving Nina behind for just a moment as he reappeared just a few feet away from Eve!
  19. The tou drops by 12 - so that damage destroys it! Unsnared
  20. "She is possessed by something unwholesome," replied Steve. "Some sort of nationalistic American spectre. Could it be the Liberty entity?" Steve had met Earth-Prime's Lady Liberty early on during his time on Earth-Prime, and of course he had encountered countless versions of her elsewhere - but he had never seen anything like this. As he spoke, he advanced on the scene, pressing buttons on the haft of his all-too-obvious blade until suddenly Caradoc the shining knight seemed to fade from view entirely. "And there is something else. The entity ejected something - a creature of racial hatred. An entity called the Southern Belle. It has possessed a bystander and now they are struggling. I will try to subdue them both without damaging either." Invisibly he went for the Miss Americana robot, recognizing it as potentially a greater threat than the others realized. With Gina ejected from the robot, there was no heroic heart there to war against the magical being inside it; only a near-mindless robot with no autonomy of its own! He made his move, coming up from behind and dropping back to visibility, bringing his pike up and around as he tried to pin the robot's powerful arms against his armored chest. But she proved too strong for him; grabbing his sword and hurling him deftly over Southern Belle to land on the other side with a loud THUD that dug a crater in the dirt. "AM I THE ONLY SANE ONE LEFT?" the thing inside Miss Americana demanded.
  21. Free Action: Activate his Concealment Move Action: Harrier flies over to the fallen Southern Belle Standard Action: attempt a grapple on the Liberty-Americana robot. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4593377/ (he catches her flat-footed as his Concealment drops) Harrier's Grapple: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4593380/ = 24 Even with the +5 making that 29, that's not so good... Miss A's Grapple: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4593382/ = 29 Agh! So she still gets loose. All right, working on an IC post - then Sekhmet will be up
  22. "Agh!" Thrude felt the strike connect, but something was wrong; the lightning and frost of her hammer seemed to flatten out against Stratos like a wooden sword blunting itself against a god. Adopted the storm he might have, but it was clear his power was formidable - but a moment later her strike followed through and she felt magic steel strike against mortal flesh. "Sonofa-!" Stratos' words were cut off as he went sailing out through the hole in the roof and out of sight, arcing somewhere towards the bay if Thrude was any judge. One enemy was gone - but another was still there. "Hey! He's MINE!" Weather Mistress raised her staff and fired a blast of searing cold energy at Thrude, as if someone had torn open a gateway to the icy cold of Jotunheim and hurled her directly into the maw of a hungry frost giant. Ice and cold erupted across her armored body and around her limbs, and in an instant she'd fallen completely out of the air, encased in a sphere of ice that glittered like the heart of a gigantic snowflake. She landed on the ground next to Set, her head pointed where she could see the Weather Mistress flying into the sky after Stratos. "I'm not done with you yet, Sebastian!" she was roaring.
  23. So she falls, but not that far - her Impervious'll tank it. Set is up
  24. Weather Mistress: Standard Action: Blasts Thrude with her Snare. She All-Out/Power Attacks for -2/+2, making the DC to hit her 22. That is a DC 22 Reflex save for Thrude Move Action: She flies 500 feet up out of the roof, looking for Stratos
  25. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4593344/ = 29 He is not intimidated! All right, since Stratos is PL 12 in the book but is actually PL 10 defensively, I will just go ahead and say that he is a balanced PL 12 on the defense. So that does hit! Tou vs 29 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4593347/ = 20 All right, I will take that - he is bruised and dazed (for now) and goes flying out through the roof, wah-hi-hoi!
