  1. Unfortunately, that does hit, since he is momentarily grappled. Stupid money golems! Good thing it's got Reversible on it. DC 28 Reflex save, SW>
  2. Despite the dastardly Bee-Keeper's denials, one of the money golems turned on the newly-arrived heroine with what looked to be sinister intent, for all that the tiny bees allegedly making it move had to be so tiny that they weren't even making any noise!. It was tough to tell the intentions of giant beings made of stolen money, but under the circumstances it was pretty easy to guess that they had a sinister intent in mind. A figure made of what looked to have been loose change and small bills, bigger than a person, advanced on Fleur de Joie and threw a mighty punch in her direction, one that only her Freedom League combat training helped her evade.
  3. Golem 1: 19 Fleur de Joie: 18 (5 HP, same same!) Golem 2: 15 Golem 3: 12 Golem 4: 11 Golem 5: 11 Bee-Keeper III: 10 (5 HP, so many complications!) Golem 6: 9 Animated Trees: 4 SpicyWaffle, I'll go ahead and say Golem 6 will relent on the Grapple (since it'll be busy with other stuff  ) and Baxter will be able to escape on its action. Golem 1 walks up to Fleur de Joie and attempts to punch her. 16 That's a miss! Fleur is up.
  4. When Quo-Dis floated downstairs in a t-shirt and jeans some time later, it was as if no drama had happened at all. "Okay, everybody!" she said, clapping her hands together and smiling brightly. "I was thinking maybe we could go downstairs and watch the football game, or take in some of Corbin's recreation room," she added hopefully, reaching over to put her arm around Corbin's shoulder. "We can order pizza, or do something else conventional, for our lunch. There is a very fine place near this house..." She looked nervous as she talked to Corbin's friends, obviously afraid she was about to chase them out of the building.
  5. The flying zippy robots shuddered under Glow's telekinetic assault, shells cracking and electrical lines sparking, they didn't quite fall down, but they were certainly losing their battle with the Australian teen. For her part, Danson wasn't doing well out of the battle either, blood was dripping from her nose, drip drip, staining her uniform and badge, but she was still breathing and twitching in what looked like sleep. Citizen tried to respond to Glow's suggestion, but he was too busy being attacked by humanoid robots! Another blast of flame scorched past him and incinerated a passing flier, the nimble Tronikian dodging and weaving to avoid taking hits from those powerful blasters. Evidently the robots were getting tired of missing Citizen and Miss Americana, as they turned their attention to the other two heroes! One blast from the leering mechanical women flash-burned the wall behind Keith LaMarr without actually hitting him; another was closer, at his feet, driving him forward into the arms of one of the fire-tossing robot women. "Why didn't you stop her!?" it yelled, looking him in the eyes with a look of pure flaming hate, an instant before hurling a blast of flame that enveloped the sonic-controlling powerhouse.
  6. I'm fine with the PL 9 sheet, and that does hit. Tou vs DC 24: 17 Injured and dazed again! They're not doing so well. Robot 3: Blasts Citizen 25 That's a miss! Robot 4: Turns her attention to Wail and fires another blast! 11 That's a miss too! Robot 5: Aids an attack vs. Wail. 27 Robot 6: 28 Woof. OK, that's a DC 32 Tou save with the crit. Lemme get an IC post up, and Wail will be up.
  7. Fort vs 22: 24 Just made it!
  8. OK, go ahead and roll init, Fleur. Golems go on: 1. 19 2. 15 3. 12 4. 11 5. 11 6. 9 I'll say it's Golem 6 that has Baxter.
  9. Ooh, energy-based Reflex saves are one of Citizen's more serious banes. Reflex vs 19: 7 Ouch. I will HP that. 21 OK, so that's just a DC 20 Tou save. DC 20 Tou save: 24 Nice! Okay, hm. I'm rapidly losing HP here, so I'll just have Citizen attack her unarmed. Does 26 hit with the Snare cover? (I missed whether or not that was an issue) If so, that's a DC 28 Tou save.
  10. Sharl thought to Tulink as the electronic teenager lined up with his equally-dimensionally-displaced masters. Sharl was no fool; he knew how incredibly difficult what he was promising was going to be. But he was Sharl Tulink, Citizen of Tronik, and that meant he'd defend his people wherever they were. And punish those who'd been hurting them. thought Tulink bleakly as he watched that impossibly lucky version of himself take his place alongside his friends. Real, actual human friends. And with that, and one last eruption of light and noise from the teleporter, the castaways from Erde were gone.
  11. OK, first of all, have an HP for getting grabbed first thing, Bee-Keeper. 6 of these guys (with INT 4 instead of 20) are the monsters. PL 10s, but just minions! Grapple result: 34 Okay, try and beat that. We'll roll initiative as soon as Fleur shows up and joins the fight.
  12. "The Bee-Keeper! I sure hope you're the good one!" somebody, maybe the bank manager, called from behind her desk. "They just came to life and started robbing the place!" The patrons who recognized the third Bee-Keeper seemed cheered at his arrival, but as usual in his predecessor's stomping grounds some bystanders were even more scared! Meanwhile, at the sight of the superhero, one of the 'money golems' formed itself into a humanoid shape made of sacks of heavy metal coins and came right for the armored Baxter. A penny might weight nothing, but millions of pennies formed together into a fist was a threatening weapon indeed! The being of bags made a grab for the hero of the hive, and caught him about the midsection in a powerful embrace!
  13. August 10, 2012 Fleur de Joie and Bee-Keeper III stop a bank robbery, and maybe learn about life.
  14. Bee Good And You Will Bee Lonesome August 10, 2012 First National Bank of Freedom City [Fens Branch] You might think banks would get robbed in the Fens a lot, but the truth is it just doesn't happen that much. Criminals in the Fens don't have the kind of budget to plan and carry out a major operation like a bank robbery; they're generally more focused on things like making enough money to feed their family, or their drug addiction, via pickpocketing, panhandling, or the occasional mugging or low-level drug deal, than the kind of big score that a bank robbery would bring off. But it does happen, enough that First National's Fens branch has the bulletproof glass, metal detectors, and security guards you would expect from a watchful urban bank in this economy. It was good security, reflected bank manager Jan Freidman as she took cover under her desk. Good security most of the time, anyway. All around her the bank was in chaos as coins, bills, and deposit slips spun themselves together in the air, sending patrons and staff alike fleeing for their lives as the currency transformed itself into some half-dozen humanoid figures larger than the statue of the Centurion (for historical purposes only!) in the front lobby, massive figures made of money itself! They moved with purpose about the bank, opening their 'mouths' and dumping in the contents of unanimated cash drawers, cracking open the ATM and shoveling in more cash into their already ample frames, one even going around and silently collecting the wallets of trapped patrons! How do you stop a bank from robbing itself? she thought desperately. Luckily, she reminded herself after a moment, that wasn't really her problem. She reached down and hit the silent alarm beneath her desk, the big red one that made sirens ring in police stations and superheadquarters across the city. META-ROBBERY IN PROGRESS AT THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK IN THE FENS!
  15. Fleur was no technical expert, but as far as she could tell the inside of 'Steelgrave''s ship was bare and spartan: there was a control surface, a pilot's chair, what was almost certainly a suit of spare armor (the massive iron suit instantly recognizable for the League-trained Fleur, as it would be for anyone with a familiarity with the Terminus) located near the back, but the rest was all bare bulkheads and sealed compartments. This was an armored ship, one built for battle, but so far it didn't seem to have many secrets to reveal. "You're not going to find much; that and the armor were the only things I could steal before the death squads showed up. Speaking of which..." Steelgrave looked up at the sky again, and for the first time seemed to grow just a little nervous. "You know, the portal's going to be a weak spot for a while, so you should probably get me out of here if you don't want lots of Terminus ships trying to kick in the door..."
  16. Harrier stabs a fool. AA+PAing, as usual 14 Or does he?! Spending an HP 25 with the HP DC 32 + 2 =DC 34 Harrier's to hit is at 17.
  17. With a crackle and pop, Gloria's cellphone snapped open on the floor. From it a voice sounded as a humanoid figure emerged from the big video display; Citizen's black coat fluttering in an invisible breeze behind him, the bright lights of the ladies' room gleaming off his mirror-black shades. "Two can play at that game, lady," he taunted, floating up in midair and keeping himself equidistant between the door and Temperance. She was certainly powerful enough that he wasn't worried about her, but a hero took hits for their teammate, one way or the other. "Listen, I don't know what kind of crazy techno-spook you think you are," he said brashly, "but I'm one of the most advanced computer programs ever made and my colleague here can turn H2O into H2Awesome! So you'd better step down before we have to stick you back in one of these phones and drop it in a donation box."
  18. What we need more of is SCIENCE Move Action: Sharl teleports into the room. Standard Action: Sharl spends an HP to double his dodge bonus and uses the Total Defense maneuever, raising his to-hit to 34. He will interpose for either Temperance or Gloria.
  19. The team toured the Wonderbus from top to bottom, or at least as much as they could see given that the current resident had left several doors locked, including to a room that (from the chemical smell) was probably his bedroom. The Wonderbus really was a model of super-science engineering; the reactor core (running on 30% power) was more advanced than anything Sharl or Indira had seen outside of pictures of some of the Lor hearthworlds, while the sensors in the 'cab' could scan as far as away as Earth orbit! But the place had a well-worn air that was tough to ignore, as well as that faint-to-strong smell and the Cholaxian hair that seemed to be lodged in most places, and the striking 60s decor (probably a reflection of the different visual patterns of alien species) gradually began to transform itself into nothing but a riot of paisley amidst regular geometric shapes, the shag carpet thick beneath their feet. The Wonderbus was a nice place to visit, house-sized on the inside at least, but they wouldn't want to live there. Sharl made that decision when they found the pool room; its heart shape and speckled crimson stone body suggesting an intended purpose that was...best not thought about. "You know," said Sharl as they finished their tour and headed back to the main room to say their goodbyes to Bigfoot, "he really is a sympathetic case. Maybe I can talk to Miss A about her company acquiring the bus, and we can use it as a team vehicle...if we have to!" he added with a glance at Koshiro. "Just in case." Bigfoot woke up long enough to make his goodbyes, shaking the hands of everyone he could and waving a cheerful goodbye from the door, and the team was off to their next destination! "Up next, we're going to Hanover! Miss Americana has set aside the 15th floor of the old Archetech building there for our use. She said since it's my team, it's my job to give you guys the tour! I think you'll like it."
  20. Hi everybody! (Hi ABD AA!) Here are the PP awards for the month of July 2012. If you haven't submitted your July posts by now, you are a terrible person. To save time, we've evidently noted potential PL upgrades in the subject line of your character sheet. We're running a little behind here, obviously, so if something looks weird, don't be afraid to share it. 21. In the kitchen, Quo-Dis set the meat down on the cutting board and studied it for a long moment before her eyes glowed yellow. With a slow, wicked sizzle, the animal flesh flash-fried into smokeless dry ash within seconds beneath the power of unleashed vril. She put her hands on the tiled counter before her and took several long, slow breaths; she didn't need to anymore than she needed to eat the food, but she found it very calming. I'm going upstairs to change, she thought to Corbin before she flew up the old servants' staircase into the upper floors, where she could find a T-shirt and jeans to wear.
  22. Harrier slashed upwards with his pike, shifting his grip forwards along the gleaming black shaft to fight in close quarters. The blade dug deep across the zombie's faceplate again, cutting a wide X over what would have been the face of a normal humanoid. Look at that. Have I become an artist now? He faced his opponent down squarely and shook his head, realizing the lie of that in a moment. No art here. Only horror and pain. I will make this as fast as I can. "You will never be violated again," he finally spoke aloud, his voice a low murmur amid the din of battle. "This is my promise to you, my brother in steel."
  23. Citizen stepped up to the nearest robot and followed Miss Americana's instructions as best he could, shoving his projected head through the robot's midsection. "Take this, you mechanical monstrosity!" he called, his eyes briefly widening behind his shades when the mechanical humanoid gave nothing but a low chuckle at his attempted cybernetic assault. It threw a punch at him that passed right through his projected body, Citizen briefly flickering as he stepped back and his systems re-established themselves...only to see another robot leering malevolently as it threw a fiery blast directly at Miss Americana's insensate form! He didn't hesitate a moment, grabbing the gynoid and yanking her out of the way as a blast seared past them both. "Frack it, I'm stuck!" And sure enough he was; the press of robots all around him and the urgent need to keep the Miss Americana robot from being set revealingly ablaze (not to mention what such a thing would have done to Gina) had trapped him away from taking out Miss Americana's antagonist. "Hit Danson!" he called to the others. Meanwhile, inside the system, Danson's avatar faded into view; the officer looked just like her mother once had decades earlier, fire crackling around her head and inside her mouth as she cursed at Cyberknife. "It put these things in my head!" it shouted at the still nearby cyber-intelligence that was so awfully familiar. "Got to burn them out! Got to burn everything out!" "That is not how it was!" the genie called back, audible only to Cyberknife herself. "You wished for power, but it was your will how to use it! Just as another once wished for knowledge!"
  24. Computers check: 33 Hah-hah, what? OK, Gina has the mainframe! If she wants to contest control of the robots, she'll have to start rolling countering checks. Citizen Taunts Robot 1 vs DC 20: 19 Another lucky roll! He makes an attack vs. the Taunted Robot Corrosion: 19 And just hits! That's a DC 20 Reflex save, then a DC 25 Tou save for the wrong 'un, at -2 to both! 22 Bleah 25 Well, that's annoying. Robot 1 throws a punch at Citizen! And nothing happens! Robot 2 blasts the insensate Miss A robot! Citizen Interposes 22 And misses! Glow is up as soon as I post IC
  25. 16 Citizen must be hesitating to break into the ladies room.
