  1. Okay, specify what kind of Toughness boost he's getting from his costume. (Most likely Protection, but you need to say so)
  2. Suddenly, Megastar was gone. There was no flash of light, no puff of sound; the cosmic paragon was simply gone as if he had never been there. But his absence didn't last long. Before the teens could do more than begin to look around, Megastar reappeared, now flying directly over Glowstar's position. It was immediately obvious that something was wrong: Megastar was glowing with repressed power, blue dots of energy rising from his skin to burst like bubbles behind him, his eyes glowing an almost blinding shade of white. He seemed to speak in two voices as he pointed at Glowstar, one booming and imperious like a wrathful god, the other the controlled fear of a young man urgently confronting the apocalypse. "CITIZENS OF EARTH getawaygetaway I AM MEGA, WARRIOR OF THE PRESERVERS hunting for T-mutants AND I HAVE COME TO CLEANSE YOUR PLANET OF THE TAINT OF ENTROPY! stopstopstop. STAND ASIDE AS I PURIFY YOUR PLANET IN THE NAME OF THE GORGON! activatedhiddenprogramoorsomethingcantcontrolitgetaway!"
  3. Weapons came next, that being a resource available in abundance to the armies of Heaven. Heavenly warfare had never been a particular interest of Heyzel, for all like all angels he'd warred against demons and the pagan pantheons plenty in his own time. And so it was that the wonders of Heaven's arsenal, most of whom were for sale at cost to the holy pilgrims and customers at Vanity Fair, were as impressive to him as the hobbies of parents usually are to a child whose personal desires and goals went elsewhere,. Somewhat distractedly, he led Gabriel through a field of weapons dealers and merchants, treating spectacular wonders like the gigantic steel lion breathing holy fire and the never-ending storm (carefully sealed on one side of the path) to wash away all wretched sinners as the old hat they were. Finally, they reached another smithy, one worked by a one-eyed man with a short beard and crooked teeth. "Ah, Prossetti, hello! I have a client for you." The smith peered up at Gabriel and said, "You look like a man who need a weapon forged in the all-blessed fires of Creation!"
  4. The Grue was silent for a long time, his body slowly, fitfully reshaping itself back into the face of a man. Finally, he said, "I came to this planet ten of your years ago. As I lived among humans, my connection to the Meta-Mind faded, so I was targeted and captured when we came again in 2003." He shot a guilty look at his daughter as she tensed and said, "It's all right, my angel. They know. We have to tell them the truth now, just as we did Mr. Fox." He looked at the heroes again and said, "I was on the ship that crashed into the football stadium, after Daedalus disabled our navigation system. I was in a cell, so I survived. It was hours before our ship was occupied, I had time to search..." He closed his eyes in remembered pain. "I had hoped more podlings had survived, but only one birthing chamber had gone unbroken. Amanda has been my child from that moment on."
  5. "GO FORTH TO YOUR WORLD AS MY HERALD AND VASSAL, CARRYING WITHIN YOU THE COSMIC POWER THAT IS MINE!" intoned the mighty creation from the beginning of history. "SHOW THEM THE POWER AND GLORY OF ULTIMATE PRESERVATION BY PRESERVING ALL YOU HAVE KNOWN BENEATH A COSMIC SHELL OF EVER-GROWING LIFE!" Serpents snapped and writhed as she talked, the giant space god a veritable hurricane of power and emotion in the uncharted vastness of the universe. "DO THIS, AND YOU AND YOUR CHILD SHALL BE MY HERALDS IN ALL THE WORLDS OF THE GALAXY! NONE CAN STAND IN THE WAY OF THE LAST DAUGHTERS OF THE PRESERVERS! ALL SHALL KNOW THE POWER AND GLORY OF ULTIMATE PRESERVATION! "
  6. Defensive Roll should be a PF of Shield, not an extra. (After all, its a feat!) It's a good idea to put the two together, though. Something I'm not clear on: with the access to high-tech he has, why doesn't he just give himself a new eye? (This isn't saying you can't do that; look at Oracle, Echo, or other disabled comics characters; just that there ought to be a reason!)
  7. Freedom Angel's Initiative: 12
  8. Citizen: 13, Hiroshima Shadow: 13, Blackstar: 10
  9. Harrier is going to go ahead and use the sensors built into his pike to scan the robot for weaknesses: Detect Weakness check: 22 To save time, he'll set his staff tip to whatever the pike detects (or to just a generic energy attack if nothing works) and close into melee: he'll then drive it into the robot's face. It's been a pretty deadly SOB, so he'll all-out power-attack. 24 Not bad. Assuming that hits, it's a DC 33 (DC 28+5) + any autofire Tou save. (Incidentally, Harrier has Autofire on his big, bulky staff because it has a vibrating, mobile tip like a dentist's drill or buzz saw)
  10. As the others talked, Harrier's mind drifted back to the terrible scene in the submarine that had passed by several days earlier. He'd heard other heroes talk about how the Deep Ones were innately corrupt and wicked, how their destruction had been a blessing for all concerned. Otherwise good, respectable people had talked with delight about the number of corrupted Atlantean lives they had taken. Am I a hypocrite, to pull away from those memories? He had certainly not hesitated to kill when forced to do so in that submarine, in confined spaces and against enemies who were even then murdering innocents. And he was hardly one to shy away from blood on his hands. Not with the memories in his mind. But I had hoped to never take life again. Finding Archeville repentent, even regretful, had left him with no one to blame but himself for the carnage in his mind.
  11. Harrier has a +5 Reflex save (12:33:39) System: AvengerAssembled rolls 1d20 and gets 17. =22 so he saves for half Reducing the Area effect by half means Harrier's Impervious stops it, right? But he still needs the Fort save. 29 So he's fine Init: 17
  12. "...no," said the little girl, shooting frightened glances at her burnt rescuer and back at the adults as she drank the cool water. She was mostly unburnt, with just a few red patches here and there, but her hair had been scorched by the fire. "I mean, uh, I don't know." She licked her lips nervously. "My...my mommy is waiting for us back at the shelter. I just came here to get some bandages for our first aid kit because it was all out..." She shifted from foot to foot, obviously frightened, and obviously concealing something from the adults looking at her. She took a step back against the wall erected by Gaian Knight, her eyes very wide. "Can't we just go back?" For his part, the angel was looking from the girl to the Grue who'd rescued her, and back again. ...oh, my sweet Lord. He seriously considered not saying a word, but couldn't keep a secret like this from his fellow heroes. Instead, he simply chose to speak and let them draw what conclusions they drew from it. "Let us take these two to their home, and keep their secret as our own until we can make sure there are no secret threats here."
  13. Blitzen dropped like a rock as Sage's psi-knife overloaded his brain, sending the giant tumbling to Earth as if he were a tree whose limbs had been cut. He seemed to shrink as he fell, landing at Eve's feet as a muscular but definitely normal-sized man who was twitching and drooling from the sheer power of her mental assault. Over the other way, Firehawk was taking a beating of his own, Wraith's giant hammer bouncing him off the pavement and back into the air before he managed to fly away from the rampaging alien with the giant metal hammer! He staggered and spat curses in French and Spanish, taking a royal beating at the hands of the alien girl. "Agh! Protector, are you all right!?" But Protector wasn't answering, that suit was still hovering silently in mid-air, its eyes glowing with Sharl's borrowed energy.
  14. OOC for the thread vs. Dr. Sin (or IS it?) and the Erde hooligans
  15. Freedom Angel was as surprised as the others when Protectron flew away, but he was quick on his feet, as most men who cold fly were. "Perhaps his robotic senses detected something amiss," replied Freedom Angel, beating his wings as he took to the air. "He hasn't gone far, just behind the building!" Once in the air, Heyzel made a beeline after Protectron, focusing in on the robot's targets within moments. "Hold, sinners!" he called from the air, flaming sword pointed at the gunmen below. "You carry no weapons forged by honest men! What have you done in this place?"
  16. Murdock folded his arms and stood in the rear of the room, staying behind Miss Americana and letting her do the talking. He knew nothing of matters of finance, and trusted his brilliant, beautiful friend would handle that situation to the best of her considerable abilities. He was here to get the measure of the man who had been the architect of so much misfortune for Freedom City, one way or another; though he'd used all his tiny pull (it helped that the very knowledgeable Miss Americana trusted him enough to talk to him) to learn all he could about what had happened, there was no way to understand it without getting a good feel for the Doktor himself. And it was a way to stop thinking about the smell of fishblood in the air.
  17. Harrier is going to 'cover' the door, ready to blast the first enemy who bursts out. Frustrating close to a crit, but 31 That's an All-Out Attack, so his Defense is at 13. His Blast will do DC 27 Damage.
  18. "Listen. Whatever comes through that door, we can defeat it if we work together," said the 'knight' as he lasered in on the stomping footsteps that were coming at both himself and Protectron. "If we have drawn the enemy out, we can face him here. If he had sent his minions after us, we can destroy them." 'Caradoc' dropped to his knees and took careful aim, pointing his sword at the door around chest height for an oncoming humanoid. "Engage in melee only after I have fired. Wait for it..." He charged up his weapon, the power pike hidden beneath the sword beginning a whine of repressed energy as it held back the entropic blast within. "Wait for it..."
  19. The Grue opened his eyes and looked around, drawing in a gasp that turned into a hiss of pain: he didn't seem to be trying to shapeshift, rather he seemed to be in so much pain he could hardly move. With that in mind, enemy alien though this was and as exhausting as the effort would be, the angel of Freedom bent to heal his burns. Casting his eyes wildly about, the Grue finally focused on those who'd been speaking to him. In a slow, painful hiss, he whispered, "Understand...owe you my life...but will not speak. Do with me what you will." Even when his burns had healed, at least enough that he was no longer actually suffering, the Grue didn't move, just look up at his captors with suspicious, frightened eyes. "Your name is Amanda Smith," said Heyzel, looking at the little girl who the Grue had been so badly hurt saving. As sympathetically as he could, which was very sympathetic indeed, he stooped to as of her"I recognize your face from the League's manifests. Where are your parents?" Even as reassuring as the angel was, the little girl shook her head, hugging her arms to her chest, and looked away.
  20. "Hmm," hissed Hiroshima Shadow, the embodiment of nuclear destruction eerily calm and collected in the face of Kimber's defiance. It wasn't as if it was ignoring what she had to say, rather, it seemed to be giving Kimber's words serious consideration. "I understand now. You're very young, and you know very little about the world. Allow me to instruct you in the FRAGILITY OF LIFE!" And with that, the radioactive creature of rage and revenge put its hands together and hurled a ball of scorching green light at Cobalt Templar, a ray of destruction that seemed to chew right through his armor and scorch the body within! With that done, the Shadow laughed and dived into the floor beneath its feet. "Catch me if you can, children! Give me a story to tell over your irradiated bones!" Behind Wraith, suddenly the darkness coalesced into a muscular, bearded man in a black costume, shadows curling from his wrists and up and around his arms: this, and no less, was Blackstar, greatest of the Star Knights and now the sworn enemy of the cosmos. "I'm sorry, Kinigosi," he said, almost apologetically, "but you gave me no choice!" Suddenly, the shadows over Wraith's head resolved into a solid shape, a sphere coming down to catch her beneath the same shadowy globe that had entangled the entire building! - "Papercut?" The mechanical voice sounded like it was coming from an old-fashioned speaker system, but was eerily familiar all the same. Suddenly, the door swung open, and the giant suit of armor loomed down at the Detroit teen before it said, "It's me! It's Citizen, in here! I jumped in here before something, I think it was a lightning bolt, fried every circuit in the building? Where is everyone and what's going on?"
  21. Hiroshima Shadow Standard Action: The first shot missed: 21 The fiated one didn't. Give me an DC 26 Fort save, CT, with the potential loss of 11 Con. (I'm handwaving Hiroshima Shadow's cruddy sheet and actually giving him Drain Con at his PL cap) Move Action: The Shadow will drop through the floor and out of sight, using his Infravision and X-Ray vision to watch through the floor. Blackstar: Blackstar will step out of the darkness and drop a sphere on Wraith. (He doesn't have to worry about hitting HS because he's under the floor) DC 22 Reflex save vs. a Rank 12 Area Attack (potential DC 27 Tou save) to avoid getting an object dropped on you. Have an HP for the Sneak Attack, everybody. Roll for Initiative.
  22. How does the math work on his Drain power?
