It's sad, of course, but despite hundreds of years of ninja-clan traditions, solo ninjas are the only ones that rock. That said, you don't _have_ to be the stereotypical rogue ninja on the run from an evil clan who you betrayed. (No doubt you the convenient white guy being pursued by legions of disposable Asians in black) In fact, break from tradition! Play an _Asian_ ninja with a perfectly nice relationship with your clan: maybe you're in America hunting for a stolen artifact, or maybe you just left seeking adventure. There's a world out there far beyond your dojo. It's easy to get cliched about ninjas, so make sure you have a background in mind. This guy's skills could actually pass for a time-lost ninja, or just someone educated in the traditional way. Shuffle skills around to make him more modern. He doesn't have Sneak Attack. He _can_ hold his own in a regular fight, but why do that when sneaking around is so much more fun? Depending on how much of a Combat Pragmatist he is, he may have some morality/cultural clashes with more Lawful Good-style superheroes on his team. I did some variant stuff with this build. He's got a nice meaty ninja array, letting him pull off the various wuxia ninja tricks and 'shadow-stepping' up to 500 feet as a move action. He's got a strike that does slightly more damage than his sword, but he can use the sword while maintaining other parts of his array, thus giving him a reason to use weapons in combat. He's good with ranged combat and melee too, and has OK exotic saves. I went with costumed adventurer-esque boomerangs rather than your classic ninja stars. Maybe you're not as good in hand to hand as that so-and-so Martial Artist, but you can sneak up on him and give him the proverbial backstab before he knows what hits him. What's not to like? Possible Character Names Snakeshadow, Stormblade, Nightstrike
  2. Mark and Marcie made their excuses as soon as they were in the building, Mark promising to keep in touch with his Young Freedom friends via commlink, and Marcie doing the same with her own allies. Hard as it was to believe, they were both professional when it came to superheroic situations, even if their view of professional was very different from other peoples'. They were comparing size and shape of commlink when the other teens last saw them, giggling over the similarities. Despite a strong distraction, Mark had to smile at the sight of Marcie and Michelle's room. Marcie's side of the room was an explosion of pink frills and bright colors, bright and shiny posters of superheroines and superheroes plastered on the walls, smiling pictures of herself alongside feminine versions of the greatest heroes of previous generations. Michelle's was more subdued, and he wondered if Michelle's room had once been full of the dark poetry he associated with his once-angsty room-mate. "You have a really pretty room," he said to her with a smile, walking over to Marcie's side as she set her purse down on her thickly-upholstered bed. "It's really nice." "Aw, thank you!" Marcie grinned, a smile that made her cheeks dimple in a way Mark immediately decided was absolutely adorable. "It's tough sometimes with Michelle, but she's a lot less sad these days now that she and Alex are really serious about each other." She frowned briefly to add, "We had a really big fight one time that she thought Alex had knocked me up, but he didn't even put out. He was just dating me to make me feel good, I think. And that was okay, I felt good when we were dating, and then good when we broke up." She looked levelly at Mark and said suddenly, "Did your dad go away?" Mark's voice closed in his throat for a minute, the words a sharp stab in the shiny, flowery room with its pink smells and feminine textures. He could have shrugged the question off from anyone, just as he had from Dr. Marquez, but he couldn't do it with this lovely feminine version of himself. He knew that look, those eyes, even if her face was softened and rounder with a girl's physique behind it. "Yeah. Yeah, he...he's gone. There was an attack by the Terminus, and I died, and his powers came out and he made everything different. My...my friends made it better again, and I stayed behind, but...he couldn't stay. He said his powers weren't safe anymore. Was it the same with your mom?" "Yeah...yeah..." Marcie was suddenly wiping her eyes, her voice getting high and thin. "She said she was making a better place for everyone, but it wasn't really real! And she said things weren't safe with my powers and hers being in the same place at the same time, but...but I think maybe that's a lie!" she suddenly cried. "I think she left because she was ashamed of what she did! And she couldn't face it! I can't...I can't even really talk to some of my friends anymore, after Christina said my mom was just a groupie, that nothing she did was real! And...sometimes I think I'm not real anymore!" She beat her hands against her chest. "But I can't tell anyone about it because they don't understand! No one understands me!" "I know!" Mark was suddenly hugging her, in tears himself as emotions all came pouring out. "They're either too happy or too sad, and they don't know how to deal with things just being bad! And neither do I!" Lucas and Lucas cried together as long-repressed emotions came pouring out, shielded only by the privacy of their locked door. "I know I'm not like other people, but I just wish there was someone I could talk to! It's so hard always being happy even when I want to feel bad!" "I know!" said Marcie. Wiping the last of the tears from her eyes, she looked up at Mark, her pert red lips inches from his, and asked, "You wanna make out?" "God, yes."
  3. "All right!" Marcie chirped. "Let's go back to Clairemont!" She and Mark talked superheroine history as they went; as always, it was one topic that the usually scatter-brained Lucases knew backwards and forwards. History here was eerily familiar, yet terribly different: Centuria had debuted in 1938 and died in hand-to-hand combat with Omega back in 1993, patriotic hero Uncle Sam had been the most famous male superhero for many, many years, while Patriot Donna Mason was still head of AEGIS. Demeter Sito had invaded in 1961 in a wrathful eruption of nature, while the heroic Isis had battled her archnemesis Apep for many years in the Silver Age. Enough slipped through that the kids could tell history beyond the super was different, but the Lucases didn't seem to care about that. They'd just gotten to the point of comparing favorite foods when they arrived back at Clairemont. "Hey, uh, if you guys wanted to have that coffee," Mark suggested as they walked back out onto the campus, arm around the shoulder of his double, "I think Marcie and I were going to compare some, uh, family stuff," he said, shooting a glance at his female counterpart who nodded solemnly. "Then we can get together and spar afterwards." "Or even better, team up!" said Marcie, fist-pumping in a gesture Mark instinctively mimicked. "We'll brew up something really big, and we'll blow it up with the power of Young Freedom of Two Worlds! Woo-hoo!"
  4. You need to finish spending your points. You need to fix the HTML in your sheet. Your combat math is off. You need to alphabetize skills and feats. You don't need to indicate Extras/PFs/Drawbacks if you don't have any on that power.
  5. "I got this 'condition' before I got the costume," said Joan with a little shrug. "I'd rather my doctor know me, not my mask." She paced the room, and as she did so Dr. Archeville distinctly noted the motion beneath her dress, as many more limbs than legs moved as she paced. "I just want the same thing I got from my doctors in Oregon and Japan: reassurance that my...problem isn't reasserting itself." She smiled thinly, giving Dr. Archeville a bleak look. "I spent three months in an aquarium tank in Portland before they were able to regrow my lungs. And another month, before they implanted metamorphic tissue in my abdomen so I could retract my tentacles. I need to make sure it's not coming back. That I'm as human today as I was tomorrow. Can you help me, Doctor?"

Is he his wastrel son in the leather jacket, or a vigorous Golden Age figure in brightly-colored pajamas? I went with the Nazi-smasher in the union suit, naturally, because I think those are usually cooler characters. His sceptre gives him speed and a lot of options in combat between flying around and blasting people, or just grabbing the with TK. He's got good hand-to-hand options, because Golden Age characters are good at punching Nazis and gangsters right in the kisser! (And sometimes kicking the in the butt!) He gets his powers from the sceptre he carries that calls on the energy of the stars themselves. He's a good mechanic and tinkerer, enough that he could well have built the thing himself. If you'd rather have him just a rich playboy (also a very Golden Age archetype), shuffle his skills and feats around to give him Wealth. I gave him a generic Sceptre Cave, because all these guys were basically Batman ripoffs in the day. He's got the points to be a good driver, but I just couldn't see giving a sweet ride to a guy who can fly! His roadster is just fluff, given our wealth rules. For that wastrel son of his, add a leather jacket and flash goggles and give him lots of pop culture and other knowledges a hip young hero of the 1990s SHOULD have. If you're playing an actual centenarian Golden Age hero, give him Immunity aging, or explain where he's been for so long! He's not actually bulletproof, though he is plenty tough: enough that he can take some big hits. He's not PL 10 offensively with his fists or in melee, but that gives him a good reason to use the staff. You might want to give him a Strike on the staff if you want him using it to fight in melee a lot. If so, Takedown Attack is a must! Don't be afraid to improvise! This is a pretty flexible archetype: it's his skills and feats that really matter.

No one wants to see your gender-flipped furry picture of Rudy Guiliani as a werecat from deviantart, or whatever it is they get up to over there. This is a classic werewolf, somewhat modified for use as a superheroic character. She doesn't have a Strike because it's not very heroic to disembowel muggers with your mighty jaws, nor is it terribly fun to constantly be fighting several PLs below your actual PL. She doesn't have an infectious bite, nor is she part of some creepy werewolf society, because again, that's not terribly heroic as such. She doesn't have a Normal ID, nor is she bound to the full moon: it's more fun to always have your powers handy, and really hinky to have a once-a-month drawback in a setting like this. If she HAS to transform under the full moon, that's definitely a Complication. I debated the Silver Vulnerability: as it is she's not actually VULNERABLE to Silver, it just cuts through her Impervious and she can't heal it with his Regeneration. If you want to make her more of a silver pushover, add a major vulnerability to it. Shuffle animal forms and powers as necessary: though clearly you're a terrible person if you want to play a catgirl. (Seriously. Yeah, we all like Tigra...) You'll have to do some more work if you want to be anything but a mammal, though. Did she inherit her powers; was she infected by a bite? It's up to you either way. Animal personality traits are a good complication. Just don't find yourself peeing in the corner to mark your territory. Or clawing the furniture! Via the magic of comic book, taking the lupine form is enough to cover up her secret ID. I borrowed the immunity to aging from folklore. I gave her a command of a couple of Eastern European languages to reflect visits to the East, but maybe it's that she's actually native to Eastern Europe.
  9. Marcie brightened at this news, looking well-pleased at the idea of having her double and his friends around for a while more. "Yeah, that'll be great! Boys and girls together! Well, they usually are together, I guess, but it'll be like even more so! Ms. Archer won't know what hit her." She hmmed, stroking her chin at the news. "I've got drills after our team practice, but you guys can come see that too. I've got my uniform and stuff in my locker in the Doom Room, right next to my costume. I mean it's not as important as my superhero stuff, duh, but it's still important. After that, we can go hang out! It'll be super!" "Yeah, that sounds awesome!" said Mark, who as usual wasn't terribly worried about getting his work done, and was far more impressed with the novelty of this exciting new world and the perky way his double kept smiling at him. He smiled back, and she colored just a little. She's cute! He reminded himself that a world with female supervillains wasn't cute, nor were the deeds of these ladies any less super. Not cute like stupid, he thought, just...cute. "And hey, I bet we all get out of physics for this one!" When the Harcourts confirmed that, Mark and Marcie jumped up and slapped each other five. "Woo-hoo!"
  10. Though their emotions ran the gamut from boundless enthusiasm to quiet unhappiness, the kids all kept their eyes open as Mr. Harcourt drove them all to the Freedom League building. Freedom Hall didn't look any different: it wasn't as if the building was going to be built like a woman, after all! Inside Hypatia turned out to be a stocky woman with a Greek cast to her features, her world-weary bonhomie as she spoke to the Harcourts familiar to the students who'd met Daedalus on their own world. They wound up stuck in the lounge while the science-types talked. That meant that Mark and Marcie were free to talk as they will, which fortunately didn't last long. Aaron and Erin, and Tricia and Trevor, had already been through enough. When Hypatia and the Harcourts came back, she had good news. Well, sort of. "We haven't yet finalized why your attempt at opening a gateway resulted in a breach of both dimensions. Even a combination of the Lucas family's reality-altering abilities shouldn't have so empowered a gateway powered by a nucleonic reaction." Folding her armored fingers, Hypatia said "I'm going to continue my studies here. The good news is, there's a high probability the transition will reverse itself within 48 hours. You'll be returned to your home dimension from whatever subtime localities you happen to occupy." "What Hypatia is saying," said Ms. Harcourt, "is that we'll be returned to Earth-Prime...er, Earth-Y," she added, in deference to their host, "from whatever spot we happen to be occupying."

So listen up. It's not easy being a politician in a city overrun by superheroes and supervillains. Some psychopath is always seizing City Hall or capturing politicians, decapitating tax-hikers or just beating up on figures of authority. Sure, superheroes usually come in to rescue you in the end, but it's embarrassing! Not to mention stressful, obnoxious, and downright aggravating. And what happens if the bad guys target your family? Every time you're about to pass a bill to finally get that new overpass built, the Green Man shows up to cry about the crummy park you had to knock down. Every time you're about to get that new hospital built, the Mob comes in to shake you down. It's enough to drive a man to drink. Or even better, to get yourself a custom battlesuit whipped together by some friends of yours and go out and crack some heads on your own. It's not as nice a suit as the ones those super-eggheads build for themselves, but you can still crack some heads open. It might be worth keeping a secret ID just to keep people from hassling you at work, but on the other hand a politician-turned-superhero is going to be in a really good position! You're equally dangerous out of the suit, at least in the social arena, with connections everywhere and the power to get things done. Shuffle descriptors and backstory as necessary. This version of the build is not an inept fighter outside of the suit, especially if he's got a gun or body armor, but maybe you want one that's a total pushover without his battlesuit. (I wouldn't do that) Maybe what you're doing isn't the most ethical, but it's a lot more satisfying than sitting at your desk all day! And maybe, when you get right down to it, punching Society's problems in the face is just more satisfying than trying to work your way around them inside the political system. But is being a superhero really where you can do the most good for your people? It's a tough decision to make, and if nothing else, you're good at making tough decisions.
  12. "Ohmygod! You guys are dating!? That's so sweet!" Marcie put her hand over her heart, but fortunately wasn't quite as socially blind as her male counterpart could be. When she saw how embarrassed Tricia was, she changed the subject. Sort of. I've totally got to set them up later! But not right now!"I mean, uh, that's cute! Are Michelle and Alex dating on your world too? That's my roommate and Aaron's roomate," she filled in cheerily. "They're totally in love for real, but Alex is always trying to get in Michelle's pants, but she's worried she'll bust him up. You know..." Mark winced theatrically, but couldn't be embarrassed for long. Am I really this funny? No, surely not. "I think, uh, something similar is happening here. Mike and Alex are dating too, and they're pretty serious. So are you dating...uh, Zartan?" He thought about his quasi-girlfriend back home, who he hadn't seen since she'd gone back to the Lost World over the summer. "Yeah, but it's mostly just for his body," said Marcie with her usual bluntness. "I mean he wears a loincloth! And he's got a real...you know!" She flexed a perky bicep. "Big muscles! Robusto! There was him, Angelo, and that's it. Guys are fun to have around, but I don't think I'm ready for like a long-term relationship. I've got a lot going on!" she exclaimed cheerily. "Yeah...yeah, I know that feeling," Mark agreed. "Zarana's real athletic." He'd picked up on the hints she'd dropped about what had happened to her mother; Ricki Lucas, maybe? But it was easier to talk about other things. Is she wearing lilac perfume? Even Mark fell silent as they passed the Sentress statue, looking up at the Centuria cast in marble with a wistful look on his face.

This guy is a champion of justice, a mystic in his own day who has returned after 4000 years to walk the Earth and battle for truth and justice. Is he a tomb guardian, animated so that he can track down artifacts that rightfully belonged to him (or to the gods)? A prince whose love for his now-long-reincarnated lover drove him from the tomb to find her out there in the Earth? A latent mutant whose regenerative powers were finally activated 40 centuries after his death? Or did he die unhappy, wanting more from his life, only to rise in a time and a place where he could be more than the man he'd been? I figure his Elongation represent extending mystic wrappings and using them to trip foes; save up more points if you want to give him some kind of Snare effect. (Or just Swinging or Slow Fall: funny images, those!) The Incurable is the Mummy's curse, natch! He's technically dead, but in other ways never can truly die: even if you burn him to ash, his power, or is it his curse, will return him to 'life.' He can see in the dark and track those who've stolen from his tomb, as well as jump high, run fast, and lift much more weight than his frame would suggest. After all, he has the strength of Set himself. I've gone with the idea that he looks human, but you can monsterify him up as much as seems prudent. I went with the idea of a recent awakening, but there's no reason you can't assume he rose first decades ago and has been active, or maybe slumbered some, ever since. Why play a mummy? A cool connection to history, particularly a distant kind of history that's iconic and easy to research, and a cool connection to the setting's history in general like the Scarab and Pharos. And think of how memorable your debut will be when you sit up in the museum's MRI machine and the panicky scientists call in the superheroes!
  14. "Just stick together. I'll take care of contacting Mrs. Sin as we go." Mr. Harcourt, who after all knew the Clairemont terrain better than any other adult there, answered the Whites' question by walking the kids and the new arrivals outside. The sky was blue and the grass was green, a world where men were women and women men not actually that much different than their own. Mark and Marcie made up the rear of the group, their animated chatter a counterpoint to the more reserved adults and other kids. "You're a cheerleader!?! Wow! That's so cool. I wanted to try out for our squad, but my dad said guys shouldn't do that stuff." "Yeah, tell me about it," said Marcie, wrinkling her pert little nose. "I mean, guys should do guy stuff and girls should do girl stuff, but sometimes my mom would..." She sighed a little, and suddenly threw an arm around her counterpart's broader shoulders. "Did you have the bad stuff happen too?" He's cute. Up front, as the Lucases shared their joint traumas and joys with each other, Mr. Harcourt was telling the kids, "We'll go visit the Freedom League and see what Hypatia can do on our behalf. I think I can reverse the polarity of the transference, with the help of my counterpart here, but we can get things done a lot faster there." He led them past what it took a minute for Erin and Trevor to recognize as Aaron's red truck, looking a little dingier than its Earth-Prime counterpart, and started up the van. With the adults taking the lead, that left the kids with nothing to do but talk. "So, uh, Girl-Aaron," asked Marcie suddenly, turning and giving a searching look at the less-than-hunky counterpart of her favorite strong-but-silent type. "Are you from a parallel world parallel to Earth-Y, too? Because that really blows my mind!"

He can't ever look at his hot redhead girlfriend with his own eyes, barring a bizarre plot device, and must always walk around with the knowledge of the terrible power he's packing inside both eyeballs. He's a convenient source of angst, a troubled-but-cute guy who the ladies usually think is pretty hot. But you know, just blasting things is nice and all, but why not kick it up a notch? So this guy has Petrification (flesh to stone Transform) from Ultimate Power, bought all the way up to Reaction and with the Sense-Dependent flaw. Anyone who meets his eyes has to make a DC 20 Fortitude save or risk being turned to stone! His power is Sustained in Duration for cost-saving reasons, and for preventing him from zapping anyone permanently with it. That's not very heroic! He'd be really powerful if he had a Continuous Perception Range Transform! His Fort save is high because he may well have zapped himself a few times early in his career, and without his costume (which I figure is a leather bodysuit with some helpful stuff included), he's no more immune to his own powers (maybe in a mirror?) than anyone else would be. Feel free to change his powers up if you want: there's nothing to say that he HAS to be a latter-day distaff Medusa. I just think it's a cool power! If it's a cheaper Transform or Blast (even a Petrification that requires a standard action), you can buy him plenty more skills and feats: characters like this often find themselves in leadership roles. If you run into constructs or creatures immune to Fort saves, or people smart enough not to look at you, pull out your blaster pistol and shoot them! It's good to have a fallback position, especially if it's one where you're zapping folks who think they're smart.
  16. Outside, Avenger took a moment to stare up at his house. How long had it been since he, Taylor, and Jack Jr. had all been together under one roof? Too long. Pushing past those depressed feelings, he headed up the walk in a woosh of air, making sure to announce his entrance as he arrived. The sitter was a very watchful girl, with a paranoia he found healthy and useful, so he called out "Erin! Viktor! I'm home!" He hung up his costume in a flash, then was heading up the stairs to the library. "How's my baby?" he asked, stepping into the library.
  17. "They must be..." "...from the gender-switched Earth..." "...that my dad visited!" Mark and Marcie were staring at each other, eyes wide and huge grins on their faces. "OHMIGOD! It's like we're twins!" And sure enough they did look much like twins, closer than any outside of Shakespeare: Mark's blue shirt and slacks matched in style, if not cut and color, exactly what his feminine counterpart was wearing. God, she's cute. thought Mark irrelevantly. "And for me it was...it was my mom! I never went, though, that was way back in the 1960s." Marcie looked sad for just a second, but then shook it off. "But you came here, not us!" She pointed. "Look, there's a picture of Martin Curie on the wall! He was one of the greatest scientists ever, and I bet he'd be a girl on your world!" The two of them began...talking; throwing out a series of references that went by too fast for the others to get. "Yes, well..." The two Harcourts; a handsome black man in a natty suit and an attractive African-American woman in work clothes, began talking quickly to each other, scientific chatter that was right over the head of most of the kids there. When they were done, Ms. Harcourt said, "All right, kids, I think we can solve this, but we'd better get ourselves over to the Freedom League for help." "You too," Mr. Harcourt told Marcie, Tracie, and Aaron. "These are our guests. And it's best if we stick close to our duplicates; that way there's no risk of confusion creeping in. The last thing we need is everyone thinking that we've actually switched genders ourselves."

And every day, they go out and they fight the worst monsters in the universe. The Furions are the only people in the Terminus still resisting the forces of Omega on a regular basis, and it's a bloody, difficult battle. Here's an attempt at a PL 10 version of one, with the caveat that he's actually one of the weaker Furions! (The baseline Furion is actually PL 12) One possibility is that this is a baby Furion: maybe his parents have sent him to Earth to be educated about something other than the Terminus and the endless war with Omega, giving the possibility of a life beyond the struggle against the forces of Omega. Still, even a teen Furion is a wrecking machine by any rational standards, easily capable of ripping through a squad of goons and sending legions more fleeing in terror from his sheer presence. He's been trained since birth to rip it up, and he's pretty good at it. Make him more personable by shuffling points. Put him on a student team with my freed Omegadrone build for particularly exciting friction! He's probably maintaining a secret ID if he's living full-time on Earth, the last thing he needs is for his people's war with Omega to boil over to this dimension. Or maybe not; maybe he's out and proud, ready to stand with his noble allies in the greatest war that ever was and ever will be. He is no puling son of some weak, backwater world; he is a soldier of the Throne, training every day for when he returns to fight the forces of destruction and entropy personified!

Rather than the Device-using summoner that this build is in the corebook, I've gone ahead and given her the power to summon her magic armor, magic sword, and flying horse all in one get-go like my Star Knight build way down thread. Her armor makes her bulletproof, her sword makes her a threat to almost anything, her flying horse can break the sound barrier and she's immune to most mortal threats while in the armor. What's not to like? I've gone with the assumption that our heroine here, inspired by the Shining Knight remake under Grant Morrison, is indeed a time-traveler from the medieval court of King Arthur. You're better off treating the Knights of the Round Table as the mythic archetypes they are, located in a land of legend outside the pages of mundane history: perhaps like Baghdad in the pages of Sandman, Merlin hurled Camelot into the realm of song and story to protect it before its fall, or perhaps it was an ever-repeating cycle and part of a much older tradition. She could be from just about any realm of feudal mythology; perhaps an ally of Saladin or Charlemagne if you want to look at some of the historical fictions around those gentlemen. A knightly code of valor is a natural source of complications: clearly, you should pick a code more suitable to romantic fiction than the grim realities of actual feudalism if you want anything like a heroic PC. One possible tweak that I'd like to see is dropping the usual dog-Celticism that comes with the Arthurian story these days: make her as Catholic as Thomas Malory! (Though preferably without the horrible personal life of that knight of old). She's a pretty straightforward fighter, but as dangerous as she was in even a mid-fantasy medieval battlefield she just didn't need to learn a lot of finesse. It's just easier to manage a PC who has innate abilities rather than relying on devices and a minion, and lets you do cool power-up sequences too: consider Quick Change or the Normal ID drawback for her. I do encourage you to make this character an actual denizen of another place and time whatever backstory you do select that's part of the fun. The basic idea is that this is the lady herself fresh out of the block of ice or fresh out of the dimensional fortress of the fae, or however you want to explain her being a hero out of time. While this is a classic Golden Age archetype, you can tweak it for the Modern Age just fine. If you do want her to be a Golden Age heroine still active today, find a way to give her some immunity to aging and more languages up in there.
  20. Earth-Prime Mark didn't have much to add at this juncture, having left his own knowledge of science far behind. Instead he simply watched the dimensional doorway with some fascination, glad to see a gateway to another place and reality that wasn't disgorging monstrous invaders out to wreck them all."There's really very little cause for concern," Ms. Harcourt reassured Trevor and the other doubtful students. "I've tuned this gateway to within a milli-micron of dimensional confluence. There's no chance of the Terminus or a hostile dimension tapping into this gateway, the quantum spectrum is just too narrow. The only way anything could happen is if some near-duplicate universe opened up a gateway into this one simultaneously, but the odds of that happening are extremely-" Earth-XX "scanty," said Mr. Harcourt, explaining to students as he walked up to the X-frame, a frown on his handsome face. Marcie had stopped humming Ke$an in the background, even the scatterbrained Lucas having caught the teacher's concern. "But we do seem to be encountering some dimensional confusion." He hmmed, then said, "Marcie, Aaron, would you put yourselves on both sides of the frame? If Aaron lifts the machinery out of the way and if Marcie uses her reality-manipulating powers, we should be able to disengage from whatever we're aground on without having to risk damaging ourselves or the equipment." Earth-Prime Obligingly, Mark took up position, waiting for Erin to take up her post on the other side of the Y-frame, waiting for the signal from Ms. Harcourt before he went into action. As Erin strained and lifted the frame up, making sure his powers wouldn't interfere with the machinery, he concentrated, reaching out at the fabric of the universe through the hole and tugging at it. He'd practiced like this before, the hard reality underneath his powers something he had to be familiar with if he wanted to help his friends in the field. But suddenly, even as he reached out, black dots rushing from his fingertips into the void, he felt something pulling back! "Hey, someone's-" Earth-XX Marcie shrieked in surprise as suddenly she felt her powers yanked at, hard! Automatically she pulled back, trying to avoid getting sucked into the hole herself, but found things coming with her! A flash of light burst from the portal, bright enough to blind everyone for a second, and when it cleared she found herself face-to-face with an eerie reflection of her own face! "Aiype! Who are you!?" "No, who are you!?" Mark shot back, gathering himself up as he looked around the classroom, looking largely unchanged to his eyes with the exception of the bizarre, oddly familiar dopplegangers of everyone around the room. There'd been a flash of light, a strong tug on his powers that had seemed to snap across the room like a cracking whip, reaching out to touch everyone, and then..."And how did you get here?" He stared at the girl looking at him as everyone reacted with exclamations and more all around them. She was a sweet-faced blonde in a cute pink sweater, her eyebrows furrowed with concentration as she glared at him. She was...she was... As one, Mark and Marcie Lucas cried "Great Caesar's Ghost!"

This lady is much, much more powerful than your average comic-book teleporter: she's got virtually all the feats useful for Teleport, and more besides. She can go anywhere on Earth, teleport out of a fall, behind an object to conceal herself (providing the 'cover' for Hide in Plain Sight), and she hits pretty darn hard. Note that while she has a lot of options for catching a foe flat-footed, she is NOT dependent on Sneak Attack, and so can set up some devastating feints with Acrobatic Bluff and Bluff, or just a clever use of her powers. With a 35 pp Array, she can power-stunt a Long-Range Teleport to go anywhere in the Universe! I figure her Autofire trick represents doing something like what Nightcrawler did in X-2; cleaving her way through goons like a knife through butter. She doesn't need Takedown Attack for an Area Attack, but it might not be a bad idea to buy her that with PP. With Selective on a Targeted Area attack, she rolls an attack against everyone she chooses to hit within 35 feet, getting autofire damage to represent hitting them again and again from many different angles. She can also just punch people in the face, which is certainly a worthwhile trick to have under your belt. I've left the area ability deliberately undercapped, but if the Ref lets you buy Autofire 3 (which she can afford), why not give it a whirl? As usual, season backstory and the sheet to taste. You can adapt her skills as needed for whatever use you want to give her. I've deliberately left them fairly generic here. In my mind she travels around the world, having cool adventures, and sleeps at home in her own bed every night. You can't go wrong with that. The picture is of Queen Latifah: why not?
