He is bruised and stunned (Regen: the Devil's Mistress!)
-
Phalanx's devastating punch sent the false Centurion reeling backwards, falling into the machinery behind him with a massive electrical . He was still on his feet, but barely, a look of fury on his now-bleeding face. The metal implants on his face were torn and battered now, pulled and bent to reveal raw, formless flesh beneath like cooked meat. "Foolish boy," he spat. "I _am_ the real Centurion! And soon, I'll be the only Centurion that ever was, or ever will be!" Across the room, a glowing figure levitated to his feet; the fallen villain having landed near Midnight and the other bad guys after his fight with the cyborg Centurion. Superior smirked through the blood on his face as he winked at Midnight. "Well, it seems you have this situation well in hand. Good luck!" With a flash of cosmic energy, he took off, flying through the open corridor and away from the other heroes. "Son of a..." Edge looked wildly from Superior to the cyborg Centurion and back again before he called, "We've got to stop him, too! Wander and Midnight, you're with me! Phalanx, Geckoman, Rift, stop...him! Any way you can!" And with that he was off himself, running pell-mell after the fleeing Ultiman.

A Doktor Who Makes House Calls?! [IC] [Closed]
Avenger Assembled replied to Dr Archeville's topic in North Bay
"You know...I'll come over," said Jack after another few minutes, sounding grateful for the opportunity. "Just go ahead and let him in, and let him start his exam. Tell him to use the library room; it's got a table he can use, and the shielding there should keep his equipment from interfering with any of the spiritual infrastructures built into the house. I'll be there in a few minutes. Taylor's been away working for the last few days, so it'll probably just be e. Thanks for keeping an eye on the situation for us, Erin."- 121 replies

A Doktor Who Makes House Calls?! [IC] [Closed]
Avenger Assembled replied to Dr Archeville's topic in North Bay
There'd been a long pause, longer than Erin thought seemed right, but soon Jack answered with "If he's blonde with a cheesy, over-the-top German accent, yes, let him in. Is everything all right over there?" he asked her, sounding oddly wistful. There was something to be said for being home with family, especially under the circumstances. "Do you need me or Taylor to come over?" There was no mention of the two of them being together. "Anyway, yes, Dr. Archeville is a good friend, and a reliable scientist. If you've got any problems you've been tossing around, it's worth asking him while he's there."- 121 replies

"ITZ OKAY. I WAZ GOING TO ZET THINGZ ON FIRE TILL WE GOT ZOME FLOWERZ." Curl-bee shook his massive head, smoke puffing from his mouth. "MAYBE WE WERE ALL MIZTAKEN. BUT WHAT ABOUT HENR-BEE? WHAT'Z GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN HE WAKEZ UP?" "HE'LL EITHER LIVE WITH UZ, OR HE'LL FIGHT." Beatrizz patted him on the foreleg with a limb as large as Erik or Erin's entire bodies. "WE CAN'T LIVE FOR HIM. WE HAVE TO LIVE FOR OURSELVZ." She waved up at the stars overhead. "JUZT IMAGINE IT, CURL-BEE! A WORLD WITH NO PINK APEZ! NO TOWERZ OF ZTEEL! A WORLD WITH A HIVE ZTRETCHING OFF TO THE ZKY!" "...IT DOEZ SOUND BEEUTIFUL," agreed Curl-Bee. "I'M ZORRY," he added to Jack and Wander. "IT WAZ WRONG TO WANT TO HURT PEOPLE FOR FLOWERZ."

Moira - Ghost - PL 13 NPC (Tier 2)
Avenger Assembled replied to Moira Morley's topic in Archived Characters
The Ranged blast is an onslaught of pure ectoplasmic energy, while the Perception attack is an 'internal' attack on the person's psyche? That's what I got from the name. -
"IT'Z TOUGHER THAN YOU THINK WHEN YOU ARE A ZOZIAL INZECT," said the giant bee, waving a gigantic foreleg at herself and her friends. "ZE URGE FOR ZE COLONY IZ VERY ZTRONG, EZPECIALLY IN THE BOYZ. ZEY WANT A COLONY WHERE ZEY DON'T HAVE TO WORK, AND THEY ZAY IT'Z TRADITIONAL VALUEZ! BUT WHEN I ZAY "BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR BRAINZ?" ZEY GET ALL BOTHERED AND ZEY I ZHOULDN'T BRING UP ZE BAD OLD DAYZ." "BEEATRIZ!" A battered Curl-Bee wiggled his feelers. "I...I HEARD EVERYTHING? IZ IT TRUE?" "YES, IT'S TRUE," spat the giant bee, whirling suddenly on her fellow giant bee-monster. "AND YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT JUZTIFYING IT TO ME OR ZEZE PINK APEZ! IF IT WAZ ZO GREAT IN THE OLD DAYZ, WHY DID THE MAZTER CHAZE UZ AWAY? YOU WERE THERE, YOU REMEMBEER!" "I...I DO..." He looked away, ashamed. "BUT HOW CAN WE LIVE OTHERWIZE? WE HAVE OUR NATURE AND WE MUZT LIVE UP TO IT! WOULD YOU HAVE UZ GIVE UP FLOWERZ NEXT?"

Beatrizz had gotten up from her submissive crouch, but it was only to check on the boys. "IT'Z ZO TOUGH BEEING YOUNG AND ZINGLE YOU KNOW," she muttered in a voice loud and droning enough to make the grass all around her gently sussurate. She patted Henr-bee lightly on the back. "YOU JUZT WANT TO FIT IN WITH THE GUYZ, EVEN WHEN THEY ARE DOING CRAZY THINGZ, AND HENR-BEE IZ ZO ARTICULATE WHEN HE'Z ZOBERRRR...." She shook a head larger than Erik's whole body. "WE WERE GOING TO BEE MARRRRIED, BUT I MIZTOOK HIZ ANGER FOR PAZZION. BETTER TO JUZT BEE FRIENDZ."

Beatrizz gave a terrible shriek as the others fell. "I...I ZURRENDER!" She cried. "JUZT DON'T ZTING THEM ANYMORE! WE ARE THE ONLY FIRE-BEETHERZ LEFT! PLEAZE!" The giant bee-monster's pleas were like a screaming jet engine set on vibrate. She landed suddenly, hard enough to tear up the ground beneath her fuzzy body, and rolled over on her back in an oddly dog-like gesture of submission. It was hard to read an insect's face, but something in the giant bee's tone was frantically clear. "WE WILL GO AWAY AND NOT BOTHER YOU! IZ THERE A PLAZE WITH NO PEOPLE?"

What, you need more than that? OK. Just use a bystander for the normal ID if you don't have anything in particular in mind. I wouldn't let a PL 10 character have a normal ID more than half their PL, even if you want your character's human ID to be more skilled than some Joe Schmoe off the streets. How did this character get their powers? Well, that's up to you: maybe Ymir the frost giant was sentenced to life on Earth in mortal guise after Ragnarok, or maybe the character isn't a mystic at all and just a mutant with similar powers. Or maybe this is a villain, and he's a rampaging monster/bad guy muscle for your encounter. Or the old myths aren't true at all, and the frost giant hero is trying to clear his name. (I never was a big fan of the Norse pantheon, and Freedom City makes them even worse. Why NOT clear the name of your people, oppressed under the leather jackboot of the tyrannical Aesir? Imagine being trapped in the realm of nigh-invincible biker gangs who hate your guts...FOREVER! It'd be a terrible way to live. Plus, their children are delicious! Heh-heh, just kidding.) You want to fight? OK, fight: charge in swinging your giant club, sweeping goons like it's going out of style. You're a Huge character, your blows count as area attacks under the right circumstances. Use Fearsome Presence to chase off even mid-level goons, reminding them of the sheer terror of what you are with a gigantic roar and monstrous battlecry. You're a scary guy, so scary that people just have to stop and listen when you're screaming your cry to the heavens. Note that this build is NOT vulnerable to heat, but adding that is a natural strategy for someone looking to get more points. He's just that cold. Natural complications include the Norse pantheon, their followers, and being a GIANT ICE MONSTER...

"THAT'Z IT!" squealed Henr-bee in a voice like a furious prop plane. "I'M GOING TO BEET YOU TILL HONEY ZQUIRTZ OUT YOUR EARZ!" There was a quick interchange in the air of: "UH, HENR-BEE, I DON'T THINK THAT'Z-" "YOU ZHUT UP! YOU WANT ZOME TOO!" With his bee allies intimidated to his side, Henr-bee swooped down to attack Jack of all Blades! Buzzing wildly, they circled the heroic duo on the ground, looking for an opening. Despite Jack's incredible speed and skill, it was increasingly obvious that the bees were going to hit him: they were incredibly fast despite their bulk, and obviously used to working together. Laughing in terribeel triumph, suddenly Henr-bee saw an opening and swarmed in for the kill, his mouth-parts, each the size of a man's arm, clacking menacingly...

August 17, 2010 Fusion had come to Hanover by water, the ocean and river simply too compelling to pass up with the situation presented itself. She erupted out of the water by a quiet embankment in a magnificent eruption of movement, her muscular tentacles flexing as water dripped off them, her black costume gleaming in the afternoon sunlight as she whipped her way through the air. It had taken some work to find a doctor in Freedom City willing to see her with her special needs; people like Daedalus and Dr. Atom were already busy enough with their own work. But Viktor Archeville came extremely highly-recommended, even if he'd been out of the country during her first, terrifying visit to Freedom City some years earlier when her body had been so close to breaking down. She swung through the air, tentacles whipping from building to building, nearly as fast in the urban jungle as she was underwater. This was about finding a doctor who could look her over and make sure her body wasn't on the verge of changing again. She'd come so very close to being a monster, to living out her life inside a tank in an octopod body, and she never really rested easy without regular medical checkups to make sure nothing new was happening again. She had her life, and she had her humanity, and she wouldn't give that up. Not when it might mean losing her family all over again. Tentacles whipping in the air as they snapped back around her body, the metamorphic cells at their base retracting the fifty-foot limbs to merely the size of her arms, she stepped inside the front door of Archetech and strode up to the receptionist, as usual simply striding past her own bizarre appearance. "Hello. I have an appointment with Dr. Viktor Archeville?" She was ten minutes early; in her experience it didn't pay to see _any_ doctor any sooner than that.

"Just make sure your intentions are as pure when it comes to the rest of the city's undead." He studied Nick for a moment before adding, "Oh, make no mistake, Mssr, I have no doubt that the draugr in the city need to be destroyed. As I said, I've encountered them before. There are ways of bringing vampires into the world that give you a human enough monster, but my Scandanavian relations are certainly not that. But don't make the mistake of trusting the pretty ones, either. Especially not me. We'll keep in touch." And then with that, he was simply gone, vanishing from Nick's sight, and more importantly his mystic perceptions, as if he hadn't been there at all.

Medea was tending to Dr. Stratos now, letting her demons do what they willed. "Sebastian, waaaake up," she muttered, "I don't know how to fix that maaaachiiiinee..." The Cyber-Centurion staggered briefly under Rift's bombardment, but quickly recovered with a sneer. "You weak little children!" He spat, the look of rage on his face like seeing one's beloved parent become a monster. "I have torn worlds in the Zone asunder with my bare hands and tasted their blood in my mouth! You are nothing!" He smashed aside the demon guarding Phalanx with contemptuous ease, then gave a terrible sneer Phalanx's way. "Those are my colors, boy, and I will take them from your corpse when I tear you limb from limb!" And with that he swung a devastating blow, smashing the boy wonder directly in the ribs!
-
OK, the Cyber-Centurion is going to act despite being stunned: Wander, since you stunned him, have an HP for the Fiat. He's going to take a swing for Phalanx, aka the guy dressed as a kid version of himself, killing the demon first, then swing again to hit him: Phalanx, have an HP for the Fiat. Aaaand he rolled really badly, so have another HP for the Fiat as he hits him pretty good! with an all-out-power attack crit. That's a DC 45 Tou save, Phalanx: good thing you've got Ultimate Toughness! I know that was a lot of Fiatting, but it kind of sucks if the big scary bad guy can't actually hit anything. Let's see, Superior is healing, Stratos is unconscious, Medea is scheming...Geckoman is up!

Why so you did!
