  1. I love the background! Looks like a blast to play. I don't like getting +4 Protection from even a custom suit: that's tactical vest country. (Note: you can have a tactical vest if you want one! =) ) Either scrounge up the points to make it a device, or split the difference: drop it down to +2 or +3, and scrounge up some Protection in the bargain. (Your +8 Fort is really bizarrely high for a character with 10 Con, so maybe pulling some points from there will help.)
  2. Wow, that...that...how did THAT happen? Mark had seen a lot of things in his short life, but the transformation of his friend's gaze was something else entirely when it came to flat-out weirdness. Mark's own eyes were very wide as he produced a round makeup mirror from behind his back and handed it to Trevor. Briefly silent for a moment, he finally hazarded "Well...maybe you're getting new powers? Or you've been using yours too much? I don't know." For once, Mark looked embarassed to be talking so much as Trevor caught sight of his face in the mirror.
  3. "Oh yeah, I guess I could," said Mark. "Not the taffy, I mean, that'd be cheating after I won!" Deciding to take this opportunity to grow as a person (and really, who could object to that?), Mark looked down at his hands and concentrated. A swirl of inky black dots later, and he was handing a shiny black coffee cup to Trevor, the product of fell sorcery and reality-warping magic incongruously emblazoned with a crudely sparkled WORLD'S BEST MIDNIGHT. "Here you go, Trevor." Inside, a dark liquid roiled with sinister purpose, the sharp scent of roasted coffee beans rising to Trevor's nose. "It should be pretty good."
  4. As she cannot see through the midnight mist, Medea teleports away, figuring that discretion, the better part of valor, etc. Wander is up. Wander, I need a DC 20 Fort save from you to shake the Dazzle, and a DC 25 Will save to shake the Mind Control.
  5. "I think that's cheating, Erin," said Mark cordially, "but you're welcome to as much taffy as you want. There's no way I can eat all that I can carry. And Trevor, it's seven-thirty on the dot," said Mark cheerfully as he walked over to take a seat by the window, flattening out his taffy placard to look it over again. "I've started waking up with a fresh pot of Folger's Natural Crystals every morning, and let me tell you, best decision I ever made! They really know how to get my bull running, if you know what I mean." He gave Trevor a concerned look, then added, "Trevor, didn't you have any coffee this morning? You look like you need some."
  6. "Hey Erin! Hey Eve!" said Mark cheerfully. If he held getting punched in the face, or being his ex's cousin, against either of the girls, he gave no sign of that. Erin had been mind-controlled, it wasn't like she'd smacked him around in anger. That was a necessary part of the job. As for Eve, well, Faith had a big family. What could you do? "I was thinking that later, after class and training, we could go down to the Boardwalk and get taffy! I won a contest on the computer to let me get as much taffy as I can carry," he added, whipping out a placard from his pocket, "so I was thinking I could share it with you guys! Then we could, I dunno, watch the ocean. Or go on the beach."
  7. "Hey, Trevor!" It wasn't so much that Mark appeared from nowhere as he was simply there in the hallway, luckily, as Trevor stepped out of his room. "How you doin'?" Mark almost clapped his good buddy on the back, before belatedly remembering that Trevor could be a little standoffish sometimes. "Me, I had a great day," he said cheerfully. "You'll never believe who turned out to be...hey, is something different about you today?" he asked, studying Trevor as they went. "Did you change your hair?"
  8. "Get their attention," Avenger suggested. "Fascinate Sixtus. She has traveled to terrible dimensions and seen terrible things. You will...uh, be a novelty." He peered into the gloom, his voice a low, choking growl as he whispered, "Will take her from behind. She cannot lose the staff while conscious, but if suitably distracted, perhaps she can be remembered so. Ready?"
  9. 1d20+8=14 Mark is bruised and unconscious from getting hit by Erin and then hitting the wall hard enough to crack impervium. Midnight is up.
  10. In Mind-Control-Oh-No, we're going Edge (now with 2 HP, gah!) Wander Midnight Hellion Medea Mark takes a full round to Inspire (+5) his teammates, except Wander. He could Inspire her, giving her a bonus on the vs. Mind Control check she'll make next round, but since he can't apply that bonus selectively...yeah, not so much. WAnder is up.
  11. "Oh my God," said Edge out loud, confronted with the reality of Wander advancing on them with what looked like a savage beating on her mind. "Look, this happens all the time," he called reassuringly to his teammates. "One of your teammates gets mind-controlled, looks real scary for a while, but then you chase off the mind control and everything gets better! It'll...it'll be okay! Wander, remember, it's us! We're your friends! You don't need to kill us!"
  12. Edge goes on 22; Medea goes on 6. OK, we'll get back combat up.
  13. "It's OK," said Fusion reassuringly to Sarah, her face invisible behind the huge octopus eye silhouettes on her full-face mask. "I think this man has been displaced in time or dimension. I'm going to take him to a hero I know who'll be able to deal with this." She kept a close eye on both the woman and the swordsman, careful to make sure neither of them were about to do anything rash. "" she reassured Shiro. ""
  14. I need Initiative checks from everybody! Thanks for being such good sports. You'll see why I say that in a minute.
  15. The doors slammed shut just as Geckoman leapt his way clear, pinning the Green Jester of Justice, the the Genius Guitar God, the Boy of Bronze, and the Iridescent Insightful Intellect in the front of the group, trapping them away from their teammates. As the mystic darkness cleared, a glowing, metallic figure came striding out of the gloom. It looked like the Centurion, but this giant black metal monster wore a face of pure hate! "I am Zeta, the Centuritron of War! I shall punish you and deliver you over to...TALOS! Boo-ha-ha-ha!" - "...destroy," Medea finished, whispering into the spiral-eyed Wander's ear with a malevolent smile on her face. She'd teleported in fast, lashing out with her spell before even the sharp-eyed Wander could react. With an evil smirk, she took a step back to watch her creation at work as Erin gave her classmates an entirely new look.
  16. OK, we'll use the sandwich strategy here. Our groups are Front: (vs. Dr. Stratos) Geckoman Rift Phalanx Psyche Back: (vs. Medea) Edge Hellion Wander Midnight I'll be getting up an IC post shortly.
  17. "This is my place," the angel assured the necromancer. "You have my backing." Freedom Angel didn't like dealing with Dead Head, but he also knew the zombie had a good soul: indeed, had a soul at all. That unsettled him, but rather than try and make the undead uncomfortable, he flew to a nearby mausoleum, studying the weeping cherub there with a pensive expression. "Too many children are in Heaven already."
  18. The darkness effect only lasts a round; it'll be gone by the time you guys have a chance to react. It does not obscure Communication Links or sound, so you do have time to communicate that way. I need a Reflex save from everybody to pick what tunnel segment you're going to wind up in. Don't worry, you won't be split up forever, just for a scene or so. (Or sooner!) Mark takes the auto-nine from his Probability Control and gets 16. He can't help you guys, though, since he can't accurately perceive any of you.
  19. The team found the work easier than they'd expected, the section doors prying open like stuck sliding glass doors rather than the inches-thick impervium. "Maybe the mechanism's just old," Edge suggested, tugging at his cape a little nervously as they headed into the gloom of the tunnels inside the Sanctum. They were alone now, the Centuritrons having needed to stay behind in the main room, and it was hard not to feel a little intimidated. But no, he reminded himself, it wasn't as bad as it looked. They were heroes united, gathered together to defeat the evil villains who'd seized control of the Centurion's Sanctum. What could possibly go wrong? It was a measure of how distracted Mark was that he committed such an obvious violation of all good sense. As the last set of doors opened, suddenly a deeper darkness flashed through the room, for a moment blotting out even the enhanced senses of various of the empowered teens, and the distinct sound of doors rumbling shut came to everyone's ears. And from down the hall, somewhere in the gloom, came the chuckling laughs of Dr. Sebastian Stratos and the wicked Medea!
  20. Two small things: Would you mind renaming her Shapeshifting Array? It's pretty confusing to look at that and have to do the math that it's not the power Shapeshift. There's a tiny math error in her age. Outside of that, it all looks good!
  21. Fusion rose completely off her feet from her landing. Though she had several inches of height and pounds of muscle on the swordsman, she didn't think anything of it. That had been fairly common during her time in Japan. Come to think of it, it was pretty common in her day-to-day life. "" she conceded, ""
  22. Make sure you explain (on the sheet) what the Feature is for. In the meantime Approved
  23. Woo-hoo, you don't break caps being Attractive! One idea, though: maybe make the Attractive a power feat of Slick's Morph? So the character can choose whether or not to be Attractive. I don't think I buy the Morph as Innate. There's no reason I can see that a Nullify Chemical (or whatever your descriptor is) wouldn't alter Slick's anatomy back to its original state. You might want to do something about the terrible exotic saves. Have you thought about connecting this character to SHADOW?
