  1. "All right, people," said Mark with determination. "The Crime League is here, and they're perverting the Sanctum of the Centurion." He looked from one to another of his friends, his face settled and jaw square. "We're going to find them, get them out of here, and make sure they never again rob the Centurion's grave. The only plan we need is to do justice," he said out loud, "and get rid of the bad guys." He started walking towards the exit to the room, and nearly clobbered his face on an impervium wall when the security door abruptly irised shut right in front of him "MWAHAHA!" Dr. Stratos appeared on the green-matrix screens all around with an evil look on his malevolently goateed face. "You stupid little children think you can defeat ME? The Sultan of Storms? The Lord of Lightning? The Tyrant of Tornadoes? Pfui! My lovely colleague and I will free the prisoner, and there's nothing you can do to stop us!" And with that, the screens abruptly went dark, as did half the lights in the outer room. "I know who's in there," said Mark suddenly, staring at the sealed door in front of his face with a sick look. "I didn't make the connection until just now. But the worst criminal the Centurion put in the Zone? It was Superior. Der Ubermensch. The Nazi superman. We've got to get there fast. Phalax, Wander, Hellion, do you think you can get this door down? No matter how many they've closed, we've got to break them all down."
  2. Spending an HP to fend off fatigue. Spamming the area with a DC 22 Reflex/DC 27 Tou save on every Grue he can see from the roof of the hospital. Surging again Spamming again, DC 22 Reflex/DC 27 Tou.
  3. This is a good day, Edge thought breathlessly. Though he was watching his own team with special care, naturally enough since they were his friends, despite the danger of the situation Mark thought only of how glorious it was to see so many of Freedom's heroes together battling against impossible odds. "We're doing this, everybody," he said with simple confidence through his commlink. "All will be well." And with that, he closed his eyes, snapped them open with a shout, and pushed, ripples of destruction erupting from Mark and cascading downwards, cutting through Grue like a tactical nuclear warhead through butter, pushing himself to the utmost as the reality-bending waves of destruction cascaded through the air again and again.
  4. Not quite as dramatic as I'd have hoped, but hey! Standard Action Attack: that's a DC 27 Tou save -1 HP Surge! -1 HP Standard Action Probably a miss, even if he's flat-footed. DC 32 if it isn't.
  5. Freedom Angel felt a sharp pain as the sharpened limb skated past his shield and armor, cutting a deep gash along his arm. Anger swelled in his breast, hot and sharp, but he pushed it aside, finding justice and mercy underneath. "The commands of your alien masters force you to throw away the gift of mercy like so much trash." He shook his head, a halo of brilliant white light glowing around his body. "I mourn all the things the Unity has denied you, my friend. I pledge to do all I can to free you from the chains they have wrapped around your pure living soul!" And with that, he drew his flaming white sword and struck the Lancer across the face. "In the name of love, I will set you free!"
  6. "I appreciate that," said Jack sincerely. "Any new parent is grateful for something for the kid," he said with a little smile. Focusing on Lynn, he said, "I'd like an end to the anger too. Why don't you tell me how you're thinking we can accomplish that?" He took out his phone as they talked. "Don't mind me, I'm just texting Taylor that it's all right to come over."
  7. Edge looked up from the statue he'd ducked behind, the super-tough marble having blocked the radioactive eruption from Hiroshima Shadow. He had to smile, briefly, at the familiar face who'd guarded him from the radiation. Thanks, Dad. "Everybody OK?" he said as Rift took control of the now-slightly irradiated Centuritrons. Looking down at the one Wander had dismantled, he winced at the smashed face of Mark Leeds. "I guess they know we're coming now..."
  8. Have an HP, Ecal.
  9. This was a bad idea. Jack really didn't like to hear people lamenting about their problems, particularly when he didn't think they actually had problems to begin with. But this was supposed to be the human thing to do, so he and Taylor had made the trip out themselves to talk to Lynn about whatever was bothering her. "Okay, I'm here." He was simply there, sitting across the table from Grim when she looked back from studying the moths. He looked as severe as a man could be in a white muscle shirt and jeans that made him look like any other young man out on the town that night. "Taylor's on her way. What do you want, Lynn?"
  10. Hellion: have an HP for my putting an Accident complication on y'all. Everybody else, this is your standard Drain Constitution 11 (Extra: Burst Area) (Flaw: Touch Range) (22 pp) that Hiroshima Shadow popped before disappearing. DC 21 Reflex save, followed by a DC 21 Fort save. Shouldn't be too tough, given the average PL around here, but I wanted HS to be able to do something after getting whipped so thoroughly by you guys. Mark passes. We're technically out of initiative (which is why HS got to act), so go ahead and react once you roll your saves. You are still Inspired for these checks (don't forget to add the +5 bonus!). This is not technically how Inspire works, but if anyone wants to roll without that +5, go ahead.
  11. James' blade actually bounced off the tough hide of the Centuritron, earning him a stern look from the robotic version of the Man of Adamant. "Later. For. You." The battered model informed Hellion, even as suddenly three of his duplicates rushed into the room! There were now four Centuritrons to deal with, one having been taken out already. One struck Wander a devastating blow across the midsection, nearly knocking her off her feet as she felt ribs bruise underneath the steel-shattering power of the metallic version of Earth's greatest hero. Another threw a mighty blow at Phalanx, just missing the Boy of Bronze, while a third closed in on Rift. Luckily, Phalanx, a mighty hero, threw himself in front of the punch, taking a powerful punch to the face as he protected his friend. It looked like everything had succeeded for the young heroes: they'd staved off the Centuritrons, and now could go down and face the Crime League with no further worries. Except...where was Hiroshima Shadow! A sharp curse caught all their attention, and they whirled to see the radioactive menace clutching his side, where green, glowing fluid leaked from his wound to spatter on the floor. "FOoLS! SOoN I'LL REtURN ANd BUrN YOu ALl!" And with that, a searing eruption of light burst from the shadow of destruction, a blast of ionizing radiation that washed out across the room, even as the menace himself disappeared from view!
  12. The 3 remaining Centuritrons attack Wander, Phalanx, and Rift. (aka; the two that attacked them successfully and the one standing next to the control panel) Cent 3: hits Wander: Crit! DC 36 Tou save Cent 4: hits Phalanx: DC 31 Tou save Cent 5: hits Rift: DC 31 Tou save Mark will spend (not give) an HP for Rift so he can reroll his Tou save if necessary, since him staying conscious is vital and he's squishier than Erin or Mike. OK, make those rolls, please. Don't forget your Inspire bonuses. I'm omitting Knockback for the moment, because the Centuritrons are programmed not to do anything to damage the Sanctum.
  13. Hiroshima Shadow passes the Drain But is thoroughly pwned via the stabbing Centuritron 2 passes the Drain And is unhurt by the stabbing OK, Hiroshima Shadow is out. (For the moment!)
  14. "Most of the interlopers are probably at what used to be Freedom Hall, guarded by the Next-Gen. Well, what used to be the Next-Gen." Jack grinned, and it wasn't a pleasant look. "Like I said, the kids...the kids didn't take it at all well." Despite his attempt at bravado, he shifted uncomfortably, not quite able to meet everyone's eyes as he finished that sentence. "Look, I wasn't there for that, I told you. I didn't do anything with any of the kids. I'm not like that." When Phantom spoke, he shot her a hard look and said suddenly, his eyes wide, "Taylor?"
  15. Okay, he is bruised and stunned. Hellion is up.
  16. Hiroshima Shadow flew out of the floor nearby the teens and was promptly under attack! Flinching backwards from Trevor's illusory phantasm, he was caught unprepared for Psyche's mental assault, and a terrible shriek came from his green glowing body as he was buffeted by the blast of psychic energy into his radioactive brain.
  17. Avenger blinked, taken aback by the sheer depth of Lynn's disgust. Though he was glad to see the back of her, he knew he wouldn't get the chance to do this again, so he seized his chance before they left. Pulling off his mask, Jack declared simply, "Yeah, like that time we ground up Christian babies to make our matzoh bread for Passover? Or that time we stole children out of their cribs and put monsters in their place! Wait, that was what people said about your people, wasn't it! Go, run home, Lynn, and cry into the arms of all the nice, safe, normal, white boys you know. I'm sure your grandfather would be very proud that his family are the same kind of people who'd slam a door in his face for the yarmulke on his head. Let's go, honey," he said, turning to Phantom and showing his back to Grimalkin and Colt. "I'm done with these people. Wesley, I'll talk to you later."
  18. OK, that's a DC 41! Ouch, a good roll on the robot's part! 34 Luckily, Mike's good buddy Mark is there, and Mark spends HP like candy! Aaand a 34 again Mark is now at 3 HP. Centuri-bot 2 is injured and stunned. Hiroshima Shadow is up.
  19. Hokee, Phalanx is up.
  20. Have some plot info! You'll be able to issue commands as a move action on your turn. Midnight 2 is up.
  21. The Sanctum's computers opened for Rift like a flower for a bee. For all they'd been built decades earlier, the advanced super-science in their construction meant the green-matrix display he looked at was still decades in advance of any commercial computer outside this place. It seemed someone very recently had opened up what were otherwise advanced security systems, leaving everything available for Warren's inspection. He found the Centuritron control program easily enough, overcoming someone else's counter-programming like a knife cutting through butter. But he found more than that, much more. Security videos showed him what Psyche had seen earlier; Dr. Stratos and Medea breaking into a sealed bulkhead, but the computers told him what lay behind the locked, concealed door they were prying open. It was called the Zero Room, and inside was a gateway to the Zero Zone, a dimension beyond any he'd ever heard of before.
  22. Given that they have no Sense Motive at all, I'm not even gonna try on that one. Centuritron 2 is as Taunted and Set-Up as all heck. Psyche is up.
  23. Geckoman is up.
  24. A palpable hit! The robot is injured, stunned, disabled, and staggered. And again! OK, the Centuritron robot Erin was attacking is out.
  25. "Wesley." said Avenger sternly. "Killing a pig is not murder. He shapeshifted a pig, I took off its head, and he disintegrated the remains. Wasn't as tawdry or horrible as whatever you're picturing. Was done to save you from a very nasty vampire. Some people would be grateful. Can understand why not after this."
