  1. That hits.
  2. OK, we've changed up the Luck rules and no one's told me. So instead of those 3 PP towards more Luck, which sadly it seems I cannot has, why don't I take my 3 points, combine them with my Immunity to Sense Motive, and transform it to Immunity 5 (non-damaging mental effects). Why? Because it's Edge. You guys know it's true. Done by Angrydurf
  3. Jack remembered one especially painful memory. "I doubt the...incident on our wedding day played into it. If he could do that, he'd have done it before." He pinched the bridge of his nose, thinking back. "We did the dimensional tour, but you've taken me on plenty of those. It's not as if we visited the planet where the Dead Walk Among the Living, or something." He muttered a small, painful curse. "I just don't know. Maybe it's my nature interacting with yours. Vampires usually don't sleep with anything that isn't theirs."
  4. Have an HP for this not popping up on your Gather Info radar, Ace.
  5. "Hello again, Ms. Feng." Heyzel had met the TV reporter a few days after his initial appearance, for all that the story about him had eventually been pulled from all but the Web broadcast thanks to concerns about offending sensitive viewers. "She's a very good woman," he murmured to the others, floating in air as he studied the League's building with a look of concern on his handsome face. Feng looked satisfied after her talk with Ace, nodding understandingly, and gestured for her team to finish setting up their cameras and sound equipment. “This is Amy Feng outside Freedom Hall. For the past three days, the headquarters of the world-famous Freedom League has stood silent and apparently empty, the whereabouts of Freedom City’s heroes unknown. This is hardly the first time that the Freedom League has disappeared for an extended period of time, but there is some concern that the team may have encountered trouble too great for even them to handle. Police Commissioner Barbara Kane issued a statement that there is no cause for concern, so the citizens of Freedom City can only wait and watch, and hope for the best. I have with me associates of the Freedom League, who may have some insight as to their whereabouts. “I'm here with the famous Ace Danger. Mr. Danger, does your team have any theories on the disappearance of the Freedom League?” Ms. Feng asks.
  6. Not even going to make a Toughness save on this one. =D It's Dark Star's turn.
  7. Phantom's blast didn't just hurt the karate fighter; it ripped away most of his face! A grinning mechanical skull leered underneath, white teeth in a metal jaw as an exposed robotic eye glowed. "It takes more than a single blast to defeat the awesome kung fu fury of Akira-san!" shouted the robot in a mechanical voice now gone hollow and tinny, rearing back for another punch in Stesha's direction after the last one had failed to do anything more than knock her back an inch or two.
  8. "This is a little beyond me," admitted Jack, dropping Avenger's voice so he didn't keep unnerving the mama dog and her pups. From the animal's body language, Taylor could see she knew a predator when she saw it. "I guess you could teleport them to the humane society? The nearest shelter's over in the Theatre District, but at least it'd be something." He didn't really understand the urge to save animals like this, but he thought Taylor probably would. "This is completely illegal in Freedom City, so we can take those things upstairs up for more than just drugs."
  9. Jack squeezed Taylor's hand momentarily, a sign of his repressed tension, before he answered the doctor levelly. "I am capable of simulating a variety of human bodily functions," he said as if he were a well-programmed android, softening as he went on. "I've been told it's part of the curse. A way to forever simulate human behavior but never really...experience it. As well as a way to further the seduction of the innocent. Scientific expertise on the topic is...rare."
  10. Hmm, I do have Takedown Attack 2, so if I took one down, I ought to get a shot at more. =)
  11. Startle for DC 23 Full-on Power Attack Tou DC 30 if flat-footed, 28 if not.
  12. Jack fought off the wave of darkness tugging at his mind, pushing forward on the sheer bloody bile that usually sustained him in a fight. "Atlas!" Avenger called to the raging red giant. "Break it!" And with that, he hurled himself at the startled cultists, raising his fists and laughing malevolently as he tore into them like a wolf among some very naughty lambs.
  13. Edge blows an HP for inspiration
  14. "My name is Heyzel," said the angel, giving the emphasis to the last syllable. "But the people call me Freedom Angel." He clasped Dead Head by the hand, trusting that he'd learn the true name of the man this had once been soon enough. "Come inside with me," he said trustingly. "There is peace and quiet there, and we can talk." Holding Dead Head's hand in a friendly way, he led them around the corner and through the front door. He caught sight of the two strangers in the back pew and hmmed, but waited for them to introduce themselves if that was what they wanted.
  15. DC 23 TOU save again, Stesha. Taylor is up.
  16. "You fool!" called the energy-blasting martial artist, his voice echoing oddly, lips moving out of sync with the words. Though his face was set in an expression of exaggerated determination, it didn't waver even a fraction as he leaped up onto the stage to join Stesha. "Your silly powers. cannot stand before the might of Akira-san!" And with that, he threw a hard punch at Stesha's midsection, aiming for the same spot his energy blast had hit before.
  17. The dog looked up at Phantom with a look of terrible grief and fatigue on her face. This close, Taylor could easily make out the many, many injuries she'd suffered over the years; the missing ear, the discolored eye, and the many, many bite marks along her flank, face, and back. In a voice without words, it begged Taylor not to let the two-legs take her young ones. She'd given up so many to the fights after being taken from them herself, and knew they faced a terrible future there as either toys for the alpha dogs or a terrible training as killers themselves. All the other dogs that had once been in the basement were gone; even her mate, good for only stud after his last fight had seen his eyes taken from him. She didn't know where.
  18. Taking a full action to issue a Mind Control check.
  19. "Your friends will die if they keep fighting us," Avenger informed the cultist he held with his malevolent gaze. "And so will you. Painfully.Best if you stop them now before I get angry." He focused his will on the cultist's like a shining ebon blade, slicing the strings of his will and making him dance to his tune.
  20. Bright and early the next morning, the team gathered together again in the Young Freedom headquarters for their teleportation to the jungles of equatorial Africa. In full costume with plenty of water bottles and smelling faintly of mosquito repellent, Edge was fully confident that he was ready and able for the quick jaunt ahead. The Star of Africa had come out to join them as well, his skin glowing faintly with the cosmic energy that was his to command. Mark waited for everyone to get on the teleporter pad before he joined them there, a look of determination on his face. "Okay, team, is everybody ready to go?" he asked around, having taken command of the remote. With no objections, he pressed a button and they were off to the jungles of Africa! They reappeared in a clearing amid a high, humid tropical forest, a place bursting with life and energy, the air around them like a perpetual sauna. "Maybe we should get some cover," suggested Mark with a glance up at the sun overhead. "It is summer here." He led the way towards the trees, Edet taking to the air to act as their navigator as they headed for the last known location of the White Lion's plane.
  21. Hey Sandman, did you have anything you wanted to say before we wrap this one up?
  22. Avenger and Phantom reappeared together in the darkened basement, the stillness of night no particular obstacle as they looked around the place and took in the scene before them. The crying and whining they'd heard had come from no human throats. In one corner of the filthy basement, stretched out on a stained, wadded-up box, was a pitbull bitch and a squirming mass of what was evidently her puppies. She'd been the one whining, an eerie, sad cry in the basement full of yelps. "Oh, God," spat Avenger, kneeling down from a reputable distance. Animals tended not to like him much. "Look at the marks on her neck. Looks like a bait dog. And those guys are the next generation."
  23. Hokay, Fleur is up in Con Games.
  24. Jack was even more at sea when it came to catching his little menace, given his near-total lack of experience with babies and their ways. To be fair, he wasn't sure how much any kind of help normal experiences would be with these particular little guys. He wound up catching the baby in a thrown bathrobe, something that produced such outraged cries and wails that he quickly dug him out and cuddled him close again. "Sorry, sorry," he said, quickly wrapping the baby up in the first diaper he could grab. Luckily, it went on straight.
  25. New round! Derrick is up.
