Ace Danger The Doctor is In(sane) Swiss Misses Invisible Horizons (Also GMing) [Gorgon] The Gods Themselves Phalanx [Gorgon] Plan Bee GM Invisible Horizons Power Struggle!
-
Ace nodded as his eyes took in the room. It was largely what one would expect given the nature of the Doctors abilities. That they had provided him with as much as they had was fair indication of his progress. "Well if your greatest complaint is the food then I reason you have been well served here." he said with an easy grin. His manner remained light and calm despite the gravity of the coming conversation. "Atonement is overrated and in the end largely self serving." He said simply, "One must live the life one is given not the one they may wish." he remarked with a fatalistic shrug. Fixing his gaze more firmly on Archeville he shook his head lightly, "Atonement is an act of supreme selfishness victor, it is begging forgiveness for the unforgivable so that your reputation remain untarnished." he pulled no punches with his comments but also his words held no malice, "The damage is done and there is unfortunately nothing you or I or any others can do to undo it." he explained simply and solemnly, "Now is the time to look forward not back Victor."

Arriving at the more private location Phalanx cocked his head to one side as he thought over the Grues story. He was no expert on the Grue to be certain but some of this just didn't make sense with what he had learned in last years invasion. "Cell?" he asked uncertainly, "Severed from the Meta Mind?" He was a little lost at all this and glanced to Psyche and the others for some explanation feeling a bit out of his depth. "What exactly does that mean?" he turned to the others to address them more directly, "And can we trust anything he says?" he added uncertainly. The Grue certainly seemed to have some heroic impulse which was a plus in Phalanxs mind but the grue were master infiltrators and one could not be too careful.

Ace looked over the gold with a slight shrug and spent a few moments discussing it with bombshell as they worked out the least disruptive manner to introduce what was likely approaching a full ton of gold to the market, other than what people wished to retain as trophies he'd buy the rest at current market value and keep the bulk at the manor for a rainy day. Returning flipping one coin absently as he spoke he replied, "There are several pantheons who find ways around that particular issue with surprising ease." he remarked flippantly, "His wartime entry was as an avatar of some sort more of an empowered mortal than true divinity." He explained away any variance in power with that simple truth. "I'm no expert on the pact but fro what I understand it is somewhat driven by intent and action than purely by presence." he rubbed his forehead thinking about inter-dimensional metaphysics made his head hurt. "Regardless I think young Mr. Lucas has an absolutely stellar idea as it seems they are stirring once more to meddle in things they ought not."

"Better for me than for you I dare say Victor." Ace replied with a an easy smile as he waved off the doctor who had followed him spouting warnings of the Archevilles needs in treatment and possible dangers. As he finally left the room ace clicked the door shut behind him and looked to Victor gently, "They are treating you well I hope?" he inquired carefully, "Your needs are well taken care of?" He looked the haggard and tarnished hero over a little sadly for a moment before the implacable mask of the empty headed playboy adventurer once more affixed itself to his features. The normally confident and clever doctor looked much a shell of his former self Ace had of course heard a great many things about the doctors possible rampage mind controlled or not as well as reviewed many a classified document so he knew the reasons the doctor was here from the outside at least. There were of course pieces of the puzzle missing. Ace dropped into a chair with a lazy carefree posture that was perhaps a little too carefree to be entirely unfeigned and looked questioningly to the doctor, "How are you taking it all Victor?"

Autofire has that function built in though and that version has the targeted area and autofire I think is the concern Raveled is exressing. Course its a fully legal way of building the power it just seems odd given her descriptors.

Ace had arrived with a degree of subtlety he rarely exercised on his own behalf but for his friend Victors chances of recovery he though paparazi would likely be a an impediment. He stepped from his convertible, top up perhaps for the first time since it had rolled off the lot, and quickly stepped up to the entrance and through. He flirted briefly with the receptionist until the doctor arrived to rescue the blushing and starstruck young lady clearing his throat to attract Aces attention, "Ace..." he said warningly and with just a hint of jealousy though the frown on his face melted at Aces cocky grin, "What I'm just introducing myself." he insisted as he followed the doctor away. The doctor shook his head in wry amusement, "Of course you are." He said simply as he led the legend down the hall and up the elevators to Archevilles room. "He's doing better," the doctor warned, "but is still fragile Ace," He fixed a stern look on the ageless hero, "Go easy on him and we'll pull you out if you cause any trouble." With his warning given he knocked as he opened the door with a warning look to Ace, "Doctor? You have another visitor." he said gently before ace brushed past with a bombastic, "Victor!" and waved the doctor off to leave them.

Not really how it's invisibility works but it's kinda semantics at this point. I'll let it work as I don't really have an issue with the power setting for your gadgets. For your description though it doesn't bend light it more bends space. Basically it would be the void in the lasers as they rapidly sweep across it. it reflects nothing, the lasers sorta pass right through, they hit vanish and emerge unimpeded on exactly the other side of the creature.

"Tribute I think is more apt a description." Ace said simply. Having posed as a petty godling on more than one occasion himself over the years the concept was not un known to him. "The Aesir are a warrior culture. Defeat of a champion in battle earns the victor right to pillage, rather than have the halls of Odin pillaged they send tribute to the victors." he explained in more detail as he let a stream of the coils fall through his fingertips. He glanced to the couple retreating to the cruiser with mild vexation but let it pass. One did not expect a midnight to be the most forthcoming and he trusted that if whatever the young couple had to discuss affected the team they would be informed. Perhaps he should see to it that young hunter was equipped with a cursed gris gris...

As the Heros now more cautiously made their way deeper into the plant the sounds of some kind of major construction grew louder and louder. They encountered a few pockets of smaller bots once again resisting their advance but these light defenses were quickly swept aside by the might of the assembled heroes. It seemed almost wasteful to continue to throw such weak foes against freedoms defenders yet each encounter delayed the heroes if only briefly. Finally the companions reached the heart of the facility the sounds of construction had grown to a cacophony and before them they say the way blocked by a hastily assembled wall of scrap in fact it looked as if damaged and even a few whole smaller steam bots had been incorporated into its construction. It was tough to say how long it would take to carve through the barrier and any attempt would surely alert the builders within if they were not already.

Well that isn't really good descriptor for effects others on that effect. the triangulation would show what five foot square it's in but not really where within it it would be so they would still have the miss chance. Dunno maybe some kind of holo projector function or like glasses/visors you distribute?

Aces mouth tended to get him in trouble. Particularly when deities were involved, you could only fight so many gods, demi-gods, and elder things before you developed a certain degree of audacity after all. In the end it was not so surprising that the god had called down the thunder, literally in this case, at the affront. Of course that did little to blunt the rather shocking strike. Shaking his head to clear the static he took in the surroundings with wince, Donar was a bit tougher this time around, that or wander had learned to fly and developed a rather out of character fear of electricity, probably the former. Drawing himself up and facing down Donar himself he adopted his usual cocky smirk and adjusted his hat upon his head, "While I appreciate the offer I dare say any so called deity those incompetent rubes in the Thule society could bind is going to have a rough time delivering me into the halls of the einherjar." he taunted with a dangerous gleam to his eye hoping to pull the asgardian of guard. Seeing his opening as the god was pummeled by Edges attack he lunged forward and snapped up his fist into an uppercut throwing the whole of his body behind the blow.

The searing blast of entropy roared through the giant steam bots innards bathing the heroes on near scalding steam and thick black smoke for a moment as the behemoth collapsed with a groan of torn pistons and a resounding crash that echoed through the long hallway stretching behind. As the smoke cleared and the echoes died off distant sounds of construction could be heard from deep within the complex. What could they be building there? Whatever it was, letting them finish their malign work could bring nothing but harm to the fair city of Freedom, time may be running short!
-
Yes the bot is broken. I'll pop up another post to get things moving.
-
Sorry about the delay on this moving sucks. Knowledge arcana will give you that these devices are likely to be volatile if nothing is done to stop their destruction. The Items seem to be ancient Atlantean weapons of war and thus likely to cause quite a bit of damage if nothing is done possibly detonating or worse opening unstable rifts.

GM As her robotic companion began scanning the next room he was nearly bowled over by a somewhat overweight woman fleeing the scene. As she stumbled around MAC she cast a fearful glance back the way she had come and continued to flee in panic. As the hovering bot righted himself and fully entered the room she had fled he and his master could see some of what had caused her panic. The displays of atlantean artifacts were shattered and several of the priceless pieces lay already sundered in the center of the room with more floating through the air seemingly under their own power. Sparks and strange flames danced already over the pile of destroyed artifacts who knows how much more havoc may be wrought if this thing continues its ancient task.

"Lets keep the souvenir collection to the gift shop Talya." Ace said as he took her arm and moved her towards the elevators. He wanted to get a better look at Sin make a more solid ID, maybe rattle the old boys cage a little while he was at it. He quickened his pace as the notable hustled across the room. Drawing as near as he could he tried to draw his old foes attention. "Quite the storm brewing." he called out. "Looks like we might get snowed in." he added with a knowing grin. Ace was nothing if not cocky after all. Hopefully Sin himself would be distracted enough that with edge drawing off the neckless brigade they stood a shot of getting some one into position.

Ace had half turned toward his fellows to begin supposition on where else the 'beast' may have gone when the alarms began to blare. He swung on his heel and began to race up the steps, "Sounds like they're playing our song." he joked as he dropped into a slide to barely skirt under the descending barrier his hat for once becoming dislodged on the other side before a nimble hand shot out to snatch it back under before the Doors closed with a resounding thud and click of heavy bolts engaging. "Hmmmm..." Ace mused as he cast about himself, "Looks like we lost that armored fellow..." he made a small shrug and glanced about, "Well I'd say that whatever it is it is in here. Let us just hope, there are not too many innocents in the things way ..." He was cut off by a shrill cry seeming to come from the central mezzanine.
-
Alright the RL beast has piled on Cyroa so I'm gonna move things forward. When he gets back to regular posting I'll slip him back in.

Toughness save DC 35 (1d20+14=18) Teamwork! That'll take out the bot.
-
The Steammech shuddered under Harriers ferocious assault rivets popping and armor cracking under the rapid assault. However it held together though clearly badly damaged by the blow its furnace belching thick black smoke as it tried to struggle back to a defensive posture. It was barely able to bring one armored arm up to take the brunt of Ironclads blast with a hiss of steam as the hulking mass of bronze slowly steadied itself trying to bring its massive electro cannon to bear on the heroes systems straining as it tried to rebuild lost power from Harriers brutal attack.
-
Toughness Check DC 25 (1d20+14=30) No damage. But I'm a missed the autofire on the Harriers attack so he's actually would have been Disabled by that shot not Injured... Since Raveled has already gone and all that I'll give Harrier an HP for me being a idiot so we don't have to retcon anything. Robot is dazed and will sit there tring to bring failing systems back online. Initiative! Protectron 25 1HP Uninjured Harrier 17 4HP Uninjured Ironclad 4HP Staggered Giant Robot 11 Injured, Dazed until Harriers action Protectron is up
