  1. As 'Caradoc' entered the complex and neared the busily building bots they dropped their burdens and with a clank and a hiss brought their weaponry to bear on the invisible hero soon sending bolts of brilliant electricity arcing towards him. The bolts were easily visible from the perimeter even if the target was not. fortunately it seemed the lightning projectors lacked the strength to pierce the heroes armor and he was left unaffected. moments later the barricade the robots had constructed rose in a writhing mass to interpose itself between the robots and the hero. Harrier could see the facilities were crawling with these strange constructs of whirring gears, springs, and puffing steam. More groups seemed to be closing in from other areas as the disturbance was somehow relayed to the other invaders.
  2. Five Robots will have a shot on Harrier as he comes in range. Attack roll Autofire 1 Lightning projectors (1d20+11=21, 1d20+11=23, 1d20+11=21, 1d20+11=28, 1d20+11=26) So they all hit but none can breach his impervious. But much lightning! One will erect a barrier above them ( create object 8) Looks like some kind of magnetic field suspending debris overhead. Harrier will be able to see at this point that they seem to be operating in squads of six or so and are robotic entities made of an improbably number of whirring gears and springs and a central steam boiler on their backs. They have arcing electricity on each fist that they use to project bolts of electricity or apparently manipulate magnetism. Need initiatives if people are gonna charge in at this point. Not so much if Harrier retreats to regroup with the other heroes/authorities.
  3. They look to be some kind of robot. You can't make out enough details to know design for sure at this distance but they appear to have lots of shiny brass on them and give off small puffs of smoke.
  4. The Heroes streaked across the skies of freedom while below the streets were thrown into chaos by the blackouts as the Freedom Power authority tried to reroute power from other sources and bring the city fully back online. Arriving on the perimeter of the compound housing the Raymond Nuclear Facility, Freedom's finest were already present in force cordoning off the area and treating workers and security personnel who had fled the plant. Injuries looked to be minor but several small plumes of smoke could be seen wafting over areas of the plant particularly the assorted power junctures used to pipe the plants out put to the city. Near the main entrance there was a clear command center where authorities from FCPD, AEGIS, and the AEC were gathered. In the distance within the compound humanoid forms could be seen Errecting makeshift barriers and taking up defensive positions.
  5. Well nothing really static. You can try and use them just fine. If something needs to go wrong with them for plot reasons I'll hit you with a complication for it. Of course what Cape THINKS might go wrong is totally up to you.
  6. Alright getting this started up then. OOC IC
  7. Date: August 16th, 2011 (Tuesday) It was a fairly normal day at The Lab some of its august residents out on other duties of course but there was a standard crew monitoring emergency channels between their other projects. It was nearing lunch time when the lights dimmed for the fraction of a second it took for the internal generators to kick in followed immediately by the com system lighting up with alerts. Something big was going down at Raymond Nuclear Power, and the services of Freedoms best and brightest were in need! Early reports indicate the plant fell under attack minutes ago by unknown forces and now has fallen into the hands of these vile foes of Freedom knocking out power to swaths of the city as the plant was cut off from the grid.
  8. Protectron, Ironclad, and Harrier foil a nefarious plot at Raymond Nuclear Power Plant. Set August 16th
  9. oh yea. Derp. Meant to include that. Nearest collection would be at the Super Museum and Champions.
  10. Yea that was mostly for the other folks if you share one without the other.
  11. "Wish I could." Ace said with a shrug, "But that is largely why I brought it back with me." he admitted as he somewhat idly poked at the busted containment unit. Signs pointed to it running low on power, not sure how, usually these things have internal supplies that are effectively inexhaustible." He looked to the heroes and flashed his all to practiced smile, "Well Regardless it is certainly dangerous and I think we're first on scene to track it down." he suggested sounding almost pleased at the prospect. "The game is, as they say, afoot."
  12. This is definitely from very early in Atlantean history. During the wars with Lemuria that eventually sunk both into the sea. Unfortunately there are many threats from that era that could qualify. One thing your research will turn up is that the Lemurians were careful to make sure that their weapons could not be turned on them. So this thing whatever it is is likely somehow hard locked to seek out and destroy Atlantean targets either biologically or technologically. Now since Humanity is genetically almost identical to ancient Atlanteans (which this would have targeted) and there is not a blood bath going on, you can make hte jump to it being after Atlantean tech. Knowledge Pop Culture DC15 to know where the nearest likely Atlantean artifacts are in relation to the crash site.
  13. Ace was lounging on the divan in the corner sleeves rolled up over an even tan as the other heroes arrived, "Welcome and Bienvenue." he said with a smile and gestured to the spread of light pastries and assorted fruit and cheeses he'd had set out. There was a decanter of wine breathing on the side table that he gave a small nod, "I just set out the Bordeaux likely needs a few more minutes before it's hit its peak but help yourselves." he encouraged as he sat up seemingly nonchalant about Midnights entry, after all if he was as Ace suspected the legitimate heir of his legacy Ace would expect no less of him. "Talya has managed to get some initial recognizance of the Chateau." he offered as explanation of why he had called them all together. "I've made some discrete inquiries myself and signs point to what Typhoon has said being true." he acknowledged as well. He took a small slice of apple and a sliver of a firm cheese and popped it in his mouth with a smile. "I'm sure you all have been busy as well." he added and looked about to see who wished to start the meeting in earnest.
  14. Well looking over the characters I think I'm gonna go with Ironclad, Protectron, and Harrier any more would make it a bit of a cake walk. I'm asking for at least a post a day from people to keep things moving if you're gonna miss that let me know and I can hold of for a day or so longer than that and we'll write you out till you can get back in the fight. Protectron and Ironclad are both Lab affiliated, so Maybe harrier is getting checked out there when the alarm sounds? Lemme know if that works for folks and I'll get things started.
  15. Alright with a little bit of time spent decoding and with what blueshift able to act as partial rossetta stone for a jumping off point (Assuming she helps) you'll be able to decipher most of it. the central control keyboard is just that and marked accordingly if somewhat arcanely while you can see what each element says it's not clear what that means. You are able to tell that it is some sort of containment device or prison, or cage. In ancient Atlantean the same word means basically all three and context here is almost nonexistent. It was built to imprison an weapon unleashed upon them by the Lemurians and is covered with warnings to that effect. It seems to be a weapon designed to target Atlantean infrastructure perhaps or maybe scientists. The phrasing is very archaic almost as if spoken more in metaphor than literal translation. It seems likely that whatever this was was big enough news that any Atlantean finding the device would know what they were talking about. On the other hand with out that context it's a little less clear.
  16. Alright by the time ace recovers and heads back Blue shift can get some salient points about the device. It is Atlantean in origin and is some kind of containment device. Inscribed are terms like 'danger' 'beast' 'lemurian'. It looks like a prison or cage of some sort for something the Atlanteans were rather frightened of. Now it is broken and empty.
  17. Ace shrugged into his jacket and nodded, "Well I was on a flight to survey the Triangle," he explained assuming they would know what triangle he was speaking of, "There were some anomalous readings and upon further investigation I found an uncharted Island." he finished nonchalantly as he patted himself down as if to make sure he wasn't forgetting anything before leaving the house. Turning to wards the back of the plane he beckoned them to follow as he continued, "So I made a survey of the island and landed." he entered a quick key code to open the door to the cargo bay, "I found a cave with a ... Wait ... Howling?" he asked suddenly alarmed as he whirled to look at the heroes who had aided him. He quickly rushed into the cargo hold and winced at the destruction. "That's ... Not good." he intoned with concern.
  18. Alright I'll use connected to get access to the party for me and anyone else that doesn't have another way in. No skill mastery but I have a +20 so I can get most things without rolling. AA said it would be sufficient in chat so we're good there. Going to use contacts to take twenty on a gather info about this bank and party 20 minutes lets me take 20 on the check and I'll do it with the -20 to avoid notice for a 20 total. Heck I'll do the same on activities of Typhoon (to make sure he's not playing us), Sin, Labyrinth, and the Meta-Grue. Not sure if that'll get me much but worth a shot. Ace can take the two hours out of his vacation to take care of business.
  19. Raymond Nuclear Power Plant has been taken over by nefarious forces with ill intent! The city needs YOU to save the day heroes! Thread for 3-4 Heroes to step up and save the day from the forces of evil. Looking for PL 12 at highest preference for PL 10-11. Some reason to work together (History of collaboration etc) a plus. I'll be picking the characters that fit best with the scenario.
  20. As the heroes turned away to follow Mac back to Blueshifts discovery they heard a sudden gasp as Ace Danger Immortal Man of Mystery lurched forward off the jagged metal impaling him. As they turned he fell to his knees coughing as before their eyes the torn opening in his chest knitted itself closed. The man himself frowned slightly as he stood and looked down, "I really liked this shirt." he mused fretfully as he prodded at the now quite ruined cotton. He seemed not to notice the other heroes at first then looked up wit a smile, "Oh I trust I have you fine folks to thank for the help in landing this boat?" he asked with a friendly wave and ducked under the console to dig out a replacement shirt using the old one to wipe up the blood still staining his now unblemished chest a slight frown crossing his features as he poked a finger through his oft patched jacket as he finished redressing with a shrug. "This business is terribly hard on the wardrobe don't you know." he said with a nod and extended a hand, "Ace Danger at your service, and thanks again for the assist."
  21. Yes on both counts! Gather Information DC 0: Ace Danger is the First born Child of the famed Johhny Danger founder of the jumgle patrol. He apears to be in his mid twenties despite his long career int he public spollight starting with his widely adapted adventures from age 8 to 14 the subject of a long running cartoon series and several feature length films.
  22. GM As Blueshift settled in to more thoroughly examine the planes mysterious cargo Torque and Supercape would note the unnatural stillness of the pilot as he flopped forward against his restraints at the gentle prodding. As his coat gaped open the reason became increasingly clear with the revelation of the bloom of crimson across his chest. Further examination would reveal that a rod from some piece of machinery had pierced the pilots seat and impaled the ageless hero the jagged end protruding slightly from his chest. Given the injury it was a surprise he managed to keep th plane controlled as long as he did.
  23. You can get that its atlantean and an obscure dialect at that. There are surprisingly few libraries of atlantean script/translation available outside atlantis so thats what you can get in the short term. With a minute or two (given quickness/Mac Etc) you can probably get a partial translation.
  24. Nothing shows up on your senses after the smoke clears beyond some heavy dimensional fluctuations in the area. Inside the hole you'll find a large metallic cylinder heavily inscribed with runes with odd pipes and what looks like some kind of control panel in a language you don't recognize. The panel is smoking and there is a large hole in the side of the cylinder. It looks like whatever was inside broke out. The readings for dimensional flux seem strongest inside the cylinder but are rapidly fading.
  25. Ace turned to saunter out of the throne room at the dismissal with a cocky smile affixed to his face. "Really?" he asked Cannonade, "I find myself in that predicament with alarming frequency." the ageless hero shrugged, "Nazis are like cockroaches only not as clean and well mannered." he opined as they emerged from the ship and headed down the gangplank. He looked over the gathered heroes with a truly happy smile as the descended before preparations for the soon to be infiltration. "Just like old times." he murmured to himself, the man was surely mad and only happy when peril was in the offering.
