  1. Well I would expect that your Hero wouldn't need that particular benefit ;)
  2. Mike smiled down at his girlfriend, "Hey I gotta be a seventeen year old boy part of the time right?" He teased with a wide smile before looking back to James, "Well I'm really glad you could pull yourself away from everything to make it out." he said warmly. "Wonder when everyone else is getting ..." He trailed off as he heard the car screech to a stop outside and looked through the walls to see Eddie and Zoe step out, "Well looks like Eddie and Zoe made it."
  3. Ace watched the Big Red Mans announcement with a gaze of well practiced detachment. Whatever he might have felt about the situation was buried behind his carefree facade, "Well that certainly answers some questions." he said with a shrug. He turned to look to the other specialists that had been brought in. "This is merely the opening gambit. Softening us up, disrupt the infrastructure throw us off balance." He explained thoughtfully, "The Grue are stubborn to a fault and certainly not perfect tacticians but there is more going on than there appears. We have seen almost none of the hidden agents that are their specialty." he said ominously.
  4. I think we're all up for dealing with the sleeper agents.
  5. 'Avenger' relaxed slightly but didn't dispel his protections. He paused trying to figure out what he might be able to from the other man, the plan to threaten some thug until they spilled about what the date was was pretty much right out at this point. "Theres been some anomalous mystic signatures popping up around town. Have you seen anything out of the ordinary around here?" he asked point blank, he didn't know if there was any others that had been shunted back in time but if there were he'd need to find them and this was as good a time as any to start looking.
  6. Ok Knowledge Technology checks for figuring out stuff about the bots origins. Separate Knowledge tech or investigation to try and figure out what the pieces described could be constructed into or how it would be deployed. Midnight II you get a secure com transmission from the old man himself. "A transport I was using to transfer an early prototype of the midnight mist gun was hijacked on its way to the super museum. I'm heading over to investigate but it appears that the drivers were waylaid and replaced. More when I look at the scene."
  7. Phalanx drifted across the floor careful not to disturb the scene as much as he could. "So the missing students are safe? Good to hear." he said with relief he had been uncertain of the fate of his classmates who had been replaced. "Do the robots look like anything you've seen before?" he asked looking between Archeville and Gossamer. As the Doctor investigated the remains he could see to his disappointment that the communication and control chips had a self destruct mechanism to prevent their control signals from being back tracked. However the could access some of the functions of the internal computing and that might at least reveal something.
  8. 'Damn it what the hell was up with this town.' Jack wondered to himself as the sword formed in Jacks hand, with a flick of his wrist the shimmering blue green light of his shields enveloped the false Avenger and he raised his hands defensively. "A friend of the family." he said grimly this was not the way he wanted to start out wherever he had ended up. "The disguise a convenience in my gathering of information about recent events." he added coolly. He stood to his full height looming slightly in characteristic Avenger fashion, "Now put that thing away before someone gets hurt." he demanded.
  9. Disguise check (1d20+5=18)
  10. 'Avenger' stifled a sigh, what was with these people didn't they work together? HE really wished he'd payed more attention in history class as he couldn't for the life of him remember who this guy was and his parents had sure as heck never mentioned him. He looked up to meet Jack of All Blades eyes, "I do." he replied coldly, "Your Turf I go to you." he said simply assuming if he hadn't heard about the guy he must be a low end local or something. "Been quiet?" he asked hoping to get the man talking so he could pick out something other than that apparently this was a time when his father had worse social skills than Jack did as a teen.
  11. As the balloon finally gave way Phalanx dropped out of the sky at max speed hoping they had gotten it clear of any civilians. Rejoining the others after the beam thankfully was stopped by Edge and Psyche's combined efforts he breathed a sigh of relief and looked to his companions, "So do we know what that was?"
  12. 'Avenger' whirled to face the man who was speaking dark eyes hard behind the mask. Another hero just what he needed and lucky him he seemed to know Avenger. Of course that meant he wasn't immediately making with the grabbing because he saw through the disguise so it wasn't all bad. "Have ways. None of your concern." he replied in the gravely avenger voice, matching his fathers own tone would be difficult but this was almost trivial to duplicate. "Need information." he added gaze sliding over the swashbuckler appraisingly.
  13. Jack coalesced into his normal form once more with a sigh murmuring, "Right forgot about that bit." his encounters with Darkstar were few and far between usually it was only Derrick that he had to interact with. "I'm sorry to say I really must go." he explained with a shrug and with that he vanished with a small pop of air rushing to fill the space he had been occupying. Once in the void Jack made a quick series of jumps just in case he was followed before pausing to consider what to do next.
  14. Jack Jr. is caught in the open disguised as avenger in JoABs turf. Hilarity and posturing undoubtedly ensue.
  15. After the near disastrous encounter with Darkstar and Stesha Jack moved through the void for a short time to figure out where to look next. First thing he had to find out was exactly when it was. Luckily he had a good disguise that few to none would question shaking down informants for the 'word on the street'. Thus he stepped out of the void on the roof of a small apartment complex on the Westside of freedom looking for a likely target. His earlier encounter and relative inexperience with field work left him not putting his all into hiding but he cut an imposing figure where he lurked on the roof.
  16. So honesty really wasn't the best policy after all as it turned out, or at least not near honesty. As the vine snaked towards the mask he jerked back against the binding this was definitely not good. "Oh I really do have to be going." he said as the vine wrapped around the mask and just as stesha was about to pull it away he and it exploded into a cloud of mist though rather surprisingly at least to Jack was unable to break free of Darkstars hold.
  17. Jack winced again, "Oh no no no." he said plaintively, "That's really not a good idea." he said looking around the room for some way out. This was just getting worse by the moment, "Alright listen," he offered, "I live nearby, I saw some suspicious stuff going on and decided to take a look." He explained hurriedly, "You clearly have it all well in hand so I'll just be going." he said with a jerk of his head towards the door. He hoped they'd be satisfied with that he really did just want to get out of there now. He had bigger issues to deal with than his fathers legendary paranoia.
  18. For his first solo foray this was not going at all how he had hoped or expected. Then again he was still reeling with the implications of his situation. He strained futilely against Darkstars gravtic grip this was definitely not how he wanted to start things off. He paused to take stock of the situation and considered telling them but he had no idea what kind of impact that could have on the time line. He went slack against the bindings and stared at them through the eyeholes of the mask, "I'm sorry to say I can't tell you that." he replied coolly, "Don't bother calling Psyche either she wo..." he trailed off with a wince if he was an infant Psyche would be like 13 or something. "I really can't say more but if you'll just let me down I'll be on my way and you two can get on with your evening." he explained firmly.
  19. Jack watched their preparations cautiously as the situation Began to sink in. All the pieces were starting to fit together now, and the picture was not one he really wanted to see. As Stesha spoke about the chance of the infant teleporting it left little doubt who she was holding. His shoulders slumped against the wall behind him and he let out a breath he had been holding who knows how long and murmured, "Whew boy." almost silently before realizing he'd let a sound slip and snapping his eyes to attention once more hoping futilely they hadn't noticed his lapse in concentration.
  20. Ace rose at his accustomed time strolling across the penthouse as he pulled tied off his robe and settled before the lite breakfast that had been laid out. He took a long sip of the hot coffee and glanced down at the editorial headline with a smirk before flipping through to the article. He leaned back to settle into the rest of his breakfast chuckling lightly to himself, "Ah Scarab subtlety has never been your forte." he murmured to himself. He calmly finished his meal and canceled a few of his less pressing appointments for the day in case one of the pair decided something need be done and were actually willing to ask his advice. He was after all the expert in scandal management, seventy odd years of it will teach you a few tricks after all.
  21. Jack steadily made his way silently and hidden through the house to the living room where the only signs of life seemed to be. Lurking in the shadows outside the doors he looked in to see what had the ghosts so upset. As he caught sight of the rooms sole inhabitants he grew puzzled. The Lumins were well known, and why was he here as Darkstar? Perhaps they had run off whatever intruders had come. His thoughts whirled and he nearly stepped out to ask what had happened when he caught sight of the infant in Steshas arms. She had always all but refused to bring their children over and none of them were near that young. It slowly dawned on him that there was but one explanation as impossible as it seemed. He dropped back into the comfort of the shadows and watched to confirm his suspicions.
  22. Jack slid silently through the house a small low hanging pool of mist willing himself to be overlooked, to be unseen as he moved through the house for some sign of what had the ghosts so on edge. Most of the house seemed to be under construction but he knew where wouldn't be. A creature of habit his father refused to change the master bedroom, there would be clothes there as well so that's where he headed. Safely ensconced in the inner sanctum he coalesced and still taking care to be silent avoid notice quickly dug out what he was looking for. He pulled on the night black shirt and gloves, followed by the jeans and boots, slid into the battered leather jacket, and with a full smile pulled the mask down over his face. If nothing else it should earn him a moments surprise. Costume complete he ghosted through the house to see if he could uncover what was happening.
  23. Phalanx breathed a sigh of relief as the Doktor arrived, sure that between him and Professor DeHaviland they would be able to uncover what this criminal mad man was up to. The young man turned with a smile to the Doctor, "Yes they were somehow disguised as students." he explained, "Unfortunately we were unable to stop him but no one was hurt." he added with some frustration. He looked to Gossamer to explain what she might have figured out from the clues already gathered.
  24. Jack wasn't too surprised the ghosts had seen him he was used to their more mystical senses uncovering his sneaking about. He was however put on edge by their skittishness, normally they would come up to berate or welcome or something. The hiding made him think something was wrong, perhaps whoever had attacked Eldrichts Sanctum had also been here? He slowly crept closer to the house and peeked in the windows. It looked like his parents were having another remodel done while they were away and he took advantage of a loose window as he burst into a puff of floating mist to slide through the gap pooling low on the floor and listening for sounds of trouble.
  25. Alright merging Doctor Archeville into this one now. He should be arriving shortly.
