The social skills have atrophied a bit in favor of being tougher (Protection and much more regen) His skills are now mostly to deal with minions whereas a villian will not likely fall for his tricks, more two-fisted adventurer less james bond spy.

Two thread ideas actually. The first is more action oriented. An attack on Astro Labs (Or perhaps an Archtech facility if Doc is interested) by Havok and his Robotic minions, Not only do the heroes have to safeguard the scientists and other civilians they also must deal with the dangers of collateral damage in such a location where delicate experiments can easily go horribly wrong in the middle of a fight. This will be mostly a combat thread with assorted setbacks related to experiments gone wrong in a race against time to make sure Havok doesn't escape with the McGuffin. Going to be bringing Phalanx in on this one and looking for 2-3 others. Basically the set-up is crisis response. The second is a more extended investigative thread where the heroes try and piece together the who and why behind the recent series of daring and violent thefts of super-tech research. Once they unravel the plot they have to move in to stop the villain from completing his vile plan. Looking for 3-4 heroes for this one.

I think docs later point is more relevant. I really don't see it as being very powerful for its cost especially given all that he already has in equipment. Now whether or not it'll be very useful is another question entirely.

Still definately interested in having Mike (Phalanx) around for any claremont hijinks.
-
I'd like to sign up Phalanx for this one.

Mike waited patiently as the others were fitted with the nulifiers. They had initially been uncertain if he even could participate his powers were so ingrained they were uncertain what would happen if they were nullified. His assurances and his teams reports of the effects of the nullifying weapon they had faced had eventually convinced them. He stepped up and was fitted as well. He felt the field take effect and the vague feeling of vertigo as his senses snapped inwards and his strength and stamina were suddenly sapped. He squeezed his eyes shut and steeled himself to stay upright. As the feeling passed he looked to Chris and Erin with a grin, "Well that's not as bad as some ways of losing your powers."

Given that half the people he meets respond with "You're THE Ace Danger!" I think Ace should be added to 'spell my name with a The'

Mikes desk was lightly cluttered with the efforts of a hard working if not particularly gifted student. His textbooks already well worn and marked in numerous places and finished assignments stacked semi-neatly on one corner of the desk. A quick glance at his two year out of date computer quickly revealed it to be that rarest of finds the teen computer used primarily for school work and perhaps listening to assorted angsty teen music in MP3. Very little other than the smattering of recent pictures and one rather older framed on on his desk of his parents and himself on some kind of ranch or farm showed any real connection to the resident of the room. The dresser was packed with near identical sets of oversize blue jeans and basic logoless t-shirts but for a set of three shirts set on top, a Freedom City comets shirt that looked a bit worse for wear though fairly new, and two shirts for small local bands, Madman Finale and another she didn't recognize the name of but the front man looked familiar. In the bottom drawer she finally found something of relevance. Neatly stacked and dated going back nearly 10 years were small composition books he had apparently used as journals for a number of years. Flipping through the early ones revealed what amounted to dream journals of recurring nightmares about some unspecified incident, later they took on a more standard journal format with talk about disagreements with parents interspersed with doodles and clippings of the Freedom leagues exploits, along with some truely awful poetry and evolving sketches of what she now recognized as his current costume for hero work all stretching back almost 6 years. The most current was only half full and ended nearly a month and a half prior.

The Gravtic flux that had filled the room hadn't touched Ace as the villainous double vanished apparently defeated. He glanced from Phantom and Avenger to Jack of All Blades, "So it would seem, I'll call Star Island and see if their instruments picked up anything." he said solemnly, "The double mentioned a prison. Maybe with him out of the picture the real Dark Star will be freed." Though Ace had his doubts about that as if it was the case wouldn't the gravtic hero already have returned? He sighed as he flipped his phone open once more calling Star Island he didn't give his contact on the other end a chance to speak and began to explain as soon as he heard the line pick up, "Its Ace, we just took care of the double, I think, did you detect any disturbances wormholes? Anything?"

Allright Approved I'll move this to the active list as soon as I know who you're swapping out for. I assume Scarab is being back-burnered? -

Looks good to me overall. You need to list your toughness save I think as I couldn't find it. (Its early so I may have missed it). Responsibility to his sister and her adopted mom might also be appropriate as it seems his sister would have enemies in her own right regardless of his secret ID. I'm slightly uncertain about innate on the polymath, only because when I started here Doc said powers being trained was not neccisarily sufficient to qualify for innate. Also nullify or drain training is a pretty rare descriptor so you might be able to shift that to a rank of luck so you don't start most threads at 0 HP. -
It was an easy enough task to look back at the doctor with very real distaste. Conjuring the images of his grandfathers lab was sufficient for that as he waved to the doctor to hold off, "You are not going anywhere, and you deeply mistake who you are dealing with if you think that kind of goad is going to serve any purpose here." He replied with a smirk, "Last chance. You tell us where the league is now and we simply pitch you back to your own pitiful little hellhole you call home intact."
-
Thematically those all look fine. I will say that low ranked blast and strike effects like those won't get you much bang for you buck and would recommend pumping them up so you meet caps (assuming you don't have like a +15 attack associated with those) You might also look at short range only for the teleport effects it'll save you some points if you mostly plan to use it as a combat thing.

The shift in gravity didn't even ruffle Aces clothes thanks to the Gravimetric nullifier strapped to his belt. As Phantoms ritual snapped into effect he couldn't help but be thankful he wasn't going to have to face the dopplganger down with the others caught in his gravtic web. None of that showed on the cocky immortals face however as he laughed at the beings attempts to free itself from the bonds of magic, "Say what you want about our Dark Star, He knows better than to attack a hero in their own house. This your first time out on your own or what?" He didn't wait for an answer as he swung a vicious left hook at the villainous entity's head.

1d20+23=40 Bluff check for taunt as a move action. Standard action Punch him right in the kisser Power attack 5 1d20+11=12 HP TIEM is Nao: 1d20+11=21 +10 brings that to a 31 DC 24 (26 if he's denied his dodge bonus due to the snare) (effects insubstantial 2 still in effect from gadgets)
-
1d20+20=29 Diplomacy check if needed. Bluff skill mastery's to 33 if that's more appropriate.

Ace nodded and made a quick gesture of appeasement to the good Doctor before turning back to 'Captain Thunder', "Now I'm not particularly partial to the Docs methods with this kinda thing. We know who you are and I promise you have nothing to gain from silence." He glanced quickly over his shoulder then back to the inter-dimensional evil twin of Ray Gardner, "Wheres our league and what the hell are yours doing here?"

I think equipment is for your use not to arm all your friends. But I'm not sure on the specifics. Either way since most people are built to fight at optimal levels just off their sheet handing off weapons usually doesn't help much.
-
Hallucinogens do not equal fear. I'd buy those real world comparisons for a confuse gas attack as equipment. Your point on the grapple gun is much better, counter point however the no ruling on Arrowhawks glide cape because it was "too unrealistic". Personally I think its within the scope of comic book "Science" but I thought that about Hawkys cape too.
-
Probably doable. We've had characters with that sort of thing before. However I don't think theres much you will get out of it that you wouldn't get from stunting off your devices. My recommendation if you feel you should branch out from "I shoot stuff" a bag of guns might not be the way to go. He's a bounty hunter you might look at focusing on his ability to investigate and track people down. Make him a bit the team detective.

I'm fairly certain that the energy storage extra will only allow you to plug the points from it into a boost you have an AP of. Also you can't boost higher than the boost rank in the given AP but that shouldn't be much of an issue so long as your base absorption power isn't too low. The one area that I don't think is going to click is physical only being converted to a subset of powers and Energy to another. Also energy storage can be used for healing later even if you don't immediately use it for that. To make more sense of this what you're going to need to have is Absorption with Both types as Quote said and energy storage to use it later if you want. So when hit by any damage you can use it immediately for whatever effect the AP is currently set to. Then as a free action once per round you can switch your AP and use whatever energy is stored on that effect. The most you can store will still be capped by your absorption level of course. But that means that you can absorb something and heal with it later or use a physical attack to power a "energy" power. You are of course free to limit yourself further for RP purposes but the system doesn't really have the flexibility to do that as it stands. If it was really important you could get 2 absorption powers one for energy and one for physical with whatever boost APs you want linked but you would be paying alot more for that than just getting the both extra. Also though its kinda obvious absorption counts towards PL caps for toughness saves.

Can aura be applied to a non-touch range power? It states specifically a sustained touch range power in the description of the extra.
