  1. Well IIRC Jacky B and Ace could keep our DS distracted for 27 rounds before any rolls need be made ... But I think Cy has given this version at least a little sense motive :D
  2. Alright lets get initiatives from the rest of you, any of you can break contact ending the effect at any point you like but DH is still overflowing with power just not in eminent threat of being consumed by it. As I told AW last night, if jack moves or resists then the energy is just in Phantom and that might be bad ... but all of that is up to you all to decide what to do about. Initiative: Samedii; Shadow Pack (1d20+7=25, 1d20+12=23) PS: yup its a rank 15 snare
  3. Minor technicality, EDS would have to get the attack Extra to actually suck us into space with the portal. Imperfect logically but its the same principle that says summoning lava from the earths mantle or plasma from the sun is a blast effect not teleportation. Since he's unlikely to do it anyway probably doesn't matter but I am a fan of unsolicited pontification :D
  4. Ace nodded to Archeville, "Definitely Doctor," He said with a smile, "If you want to start making arrangements I'll run some crowd control and see if I can get in touch with someone from the club to see who to make the check out to." Ace added with a wink. "I think you're far better qualified then I to access the damages anyway." He said as he looked about for someone in charge as the police and guests began to arrive on scene.
  5. Ace'll burn that HP for a heroic Feat: Interpose, He has uncanny dodge and with skill mastery gets a 27 on the notice, so he's at full defense. He'll interpose for Avenger and the attack will miss him.
  6. Ace caught the glimmer of the blast coalescing just an instant before it fired and jumped at the vampire with a shout, "Avenger get down!" as he gripped Avengers collar and pulled him out of the way twisting as he did to avoid the blast himself. He rolled back to his feat with practiced ease.
  7. As Phantoms Hurried attempt to siphon the excess energy distracted the trio Atlas noticed a moment too late the lengthening shadows and flickering of the torches on the walls. Suddenly bursting forth from the shadow real a large pack of jet black almost smoky mastiffs struck at Taylor circling to lunge at the mage from all directions before the largest lunged in with a vicious bite. Moments later the shadows coalesced into a almost frail looking man in a top hat and somewhat tattered tuxedo a skull emblazoned upon his dark features. With a gesture the shadows leapt out and pulled at the giant Russian trying to root the powerhouse to the ground.
  8. Alright Attack on Phantom Using pack tactics (basically teamwork and combined attack) Half of the helpers miss half hit, DC 28 if this one hits. (1d20+15=27) DC 28 toughness, Atlas can interpose. after that Sneak attack on Atlas, 1d20+13=15 Snare DC 25 reflex.
  9. taking 10 for a 27 stealth with HiPS
  10. Its a Drain not a nullify Doc as I recall those are all Will saves not power checks Or is there an errata I missed? Also doesn't reduce your traits until you "use up" the buffer of all samedis energy.
  11. Ace lightly stepped aside as the projectiles shot into the library, "Alright maybe you were right Avenger, Our Dark Star is way more of a threat, I mean throwing rocks? Seriously?" He taunted keeping a careful eye on the wormhole. As he dodged he maneuvered himself to the side hoping to use the gravtic disturbance of the wormhole itself to better disguise his position.
  12. 1d20=2 Going first is for squares :P
  13. Ok Normal Drain saves (DC18) for each power Dead Head has with the necromancy descriptor, Post how much you fail by (you can take 1 on the check) I'm basically running the extra power as a buffer of PP that will be exhausted before the drain effects Dead Heads actual traits. Avenger can try and resist the Boost if he chooses DC 22 will save. If the boost pushes him over caps any portion that goes over caps is treated as a damage effect instead and Avenger gets an HP (the first time it happens). (With the full boost his net gain is +1 toughness so if he's not at caps he won't overcap) Dead Head, Phantom, and Avenger get an HP for being effectively dazed (Phantom can maintain the effect but no other actions) while the effect is maintained. Need a Notice check from Atlas.
  14. Mike happily sheltered his girlfriend from the others splashing once he realized her goal though there were a few moments of shifting to crane his neck around as he tried to figure out what she was up to. Once he did he simply shrugged and crossed his arms with a look of faux sternness like some bodyguard for a shy starlet. As the other students drifted in he waved to the few he knew and got along with, such as Magni who while a bit boisterous for Mikes taste he got along well with. Once the party got crowded he stuck close to Alex and Erin however as he still wasn't entirely comfortable with larger crowds like this. He just never really knew what he was supposed to do in these situations, it seemed so easy for his friends like Chris and Eddie and Mark.
  15. I think the differences have been pretty well covered, I just wanted to add that this has been an issue I've seen for alot of characters (Usually short lived ones) hence why I brought it up. Divine does have some tendencies toward PWP as does Quark and Gossamer, Phalanx quite intentionally started out that way as I wanted to explore the growth into a hero which for him is an ongoing project Similarly there are characters like Fluer who are reluctant Heroes who haven't fully embraced thier powers or thier future. The only real issue with this sort of character is that it limits you in what kind of threads you can become involved in. You either have to stumble upon a crime (which can only happen so often before it becomes hackneyed and boring for the player and others alike) or you have to be fetched to help a friend who does go out and actively pursue things because they need backup. Social threads are another option but if that's all you end up doing then you really aren't experience the full super hero experience with the character. The thing is that this doesn't make it a bad character per say, just much more likely to be boring and hard to get involved. As a Ref its hard when you have to do an extensive build up to explain one characters presence in a thread when everyone else has a good IC reason to be out fighting thugs or whatever, so I certainly preffer to have active PCs around than passive ones.
  16. I think at this point you can do a So (Grim) joined her new acquaintances for lunch, them none the wiser fo who she really was or her true purpose there. *** Later ... (Whatever Grim plans to do to find out whats up goes here)
  17. Ace chuckled and shook his head as he stood, "Unlikely Doc, Dracs brood doesn't get along with werewolves, and mummies are generally to stubborn to bend knee to some upstart undead that's only been around a few hundred years." He explained all to casually given the circumstances. He walked over to Taylor with a smile continuing as he did so, "Given the overconfidence standard to the breed," He shot a look at Jack for a moment, "They probably assumed this stunt would work, now at least we have warning." He nodded to Taylor and murmured, "You know I'm there for you kid." He focused on Jack, "What I'm less sure of is if he'll just send bigger minions next time or if we can expect another visit from the patriarch of Jack illustrious line?" He looked to the resident expert on vampires questioningly.
  18. The beginnings of a frown formed on Mikes lips as he took in what he assumed was some kind of teasing from Chris but was washed away and forgotten as Alex laid her hand on his chest then ran to the pool. He followed suit and jogged the few steps to the pools edge and slipped gently into the water himself. He swam a quick lap to get accustomed to the water then joined Alex and the others in the center of the pool glad for the chance to relax with his friends.
  19. Ace waved a casual greeting to the Russian soldier, "Hello Comrade," rather irreverently, already there had been tensions betwixt the Americans and the Soviets despite their common enemy. Before the situation got out of hand the Chief waved Ivan to a seat and began his briefing handing them each a folio stamped top secret. Inside were diagrams and even a few high altitude photographs of a French Chateau, from the set of maps included it looked to be in Normandy. Also included were sketchy details about a Nazi project labeled Sturmflut, Storm Tide. Activating the small projector on his desk the chief began to explain the mission after giving the agents a few moments to peruse the limited dossiers. "This is Chateau de Falaise." He intoned as a rather dated picture of the French castle was displayed, "Recently we have been passed word from the Maquis operating in the region that some kind of major operation is underway at the location. Very hush hush, its well outside the boundaries of the Atlantic Wall but the area is strictly off limits for civilians and even normal army soldiers, SS only operation." He looked to the team to see if they had any questions and continued, "We were able to ID this man," the projector revealed an image of an aristocratic Prussian in full SS regalia, "Wiliam Kantor, believed to be a ranking member of the Thule Society, as well as several other unknowns believed to be Thule mystics, en route to the Chateau."
  20. Skill mastery bluff for a 33 and Sense motive (1d20+17=34) Trying to trick him into giving something up about whats going on here. Referring to things that never happened like they had other tricks like that basically.
  21. Ace glanced around at the leaguers, "Doc see if you can find out if they are clones or mind controlled or what I'm gonna have a word with thunder over there." With that Ace walked over to the supposed Captain Thunder, "Heya Cap, Now I think we can get this all straightened out if you answer a few simple questions for me." Ace leaned in and began asking some rapid fire questions to try and discern what was going on here.
  22. Mike glanced around at his teammates and not seeing any obvious injuries spoke up, "I don't think any of us are injured but they," he pointed to the proles, "Don't look so good." He wasn't even sure what would happen to them now, could Omega terminate them or mind control them somehow? He didn't think they were any kind of real threat but the sooner someone more knowledgeable than he could look into it the better he figured.
  23. Ace laughed a hearty and free laugh, "Only the good parts my lovely." He boasted, "The rest is the blackest slander." The handsome young American returned to his seat inquiring casually, "So I hear you've just returned from Berlin. How goes Val ..." The chiefs once more cleared his throat frowning at the brash American, "That is top secret and you are most certainly not supposed to know about it." Ace merely shrugged but his eyes told Natalya all she needed to know he hadn't known until the chief had spoken.
  24. April 30th 1944 London England, Special Operations Executive bunker. Bombshell had just returned from deep cover in Berlin stirring up some of the High Command against the Fuhrer. She hadn't expected a break, after all there was a war on, but being met at the airfield and pulled directly into a meeting with the Chief was fast turnaround even by SOE standards. She was shown directly in and the chief smiled up at her as she stepped through the door, "Natalya come in sit." He said indicating one of the three chairs in the room longing lackadaisically in one was a handsome American, lack of uniform suggested OSS but you could never be sure. He flashed the curvy blond a dazzling smile she was sure melted the girls hearts back home and stood to introduce himself, "Hi there, I'm Captain Ace Danger." he said as he took her hand and planted a gente but slightly too lingering kiss on her knuckles. If he wasn't having one on he had to be one of the youngest captains she'd ever seen he may have even been younger than her but war was a funny thing and not an old mans game anyway. The Chief cleared his throat and with a tight smile continued, "Yes our cousins have loaned Captain Danger to us for a special operation of tantamount importance. Your third should be arriving any moment."
  25. Ace Danger, Bombshell and the Crimson Bomb infiltrate and disable a Thule Society stronghold.
