  1. As the light faded the heroes found themselves in the midst of the robbery. The Power armored thieves whirled and leveled their weapons at the trio with deadly intent. The apparent leader let loose a rather improbable curse and commanded, "Take them down and get that damn case open." Sounding almost desperate. It seemed like it just wasn't the Power Corps lucky day. Ace glanced at the leader with the number one emblazoned on his chest, "Yea, you're right," He said with a nod, "You Are definitely not getting paid enough for this."
  2. "Thanks for the information," Ace said earnestly. He paused for a moment at the mans query, "Hmmm, I have a possibility, I have a contact who keeps track of up and coming heroes, He's the Headmaster of the Claremont Academy. He might be able to put you in contact with someone who could help you." Ace paused, "But keep it under your hat ok?"
  3. Ace glanced down at his phone and frowned as he recognized who it was, "I have to take this." He said and stepped to the other side of the room. Ace listened to the mans words and his frown grew deeper, when it rains it pours, "I believe Dark Star to be compromised, most likely a dimensional doppelganger. Myself and a select team are working on bringing it down, but until we do we don't know Dark Stars condition or whereabouts. If you receive contact assume its the impostor." After a moment a thought occurred to Ace, "There is one thing I was hoping you might be able to aid us with, Do you know of a reliable way to contain Dark Star?"
  4. Fixed. Yea the Inspire is a little low or maybe high. But with a +2 charisma bonus he's not inspiring legions anyway. I mainly included it in the first place because they had it in the book version. I see it more as a characterization thing than something he actually uses to turn the tides. In pretty much any situation he'd be better off spending a full round in the fight rather than inspiring.
  5. Mike took a few steps back to stand next to Alex once more, Faith seemed no worse for wear at least. He assumed the dippy behavior was marks influence and not some kind of head injury, Mark just had that effect on people. He looked around at his teammates, "I dunno about famous," He said slightly uncomfortably, "We try to help out where we can."
  6. As Avenger emerged the shadows around the group thinned, Dead Heads taunting words reached Atlas' ears just as the giant rounded the corner nearly colliding with his fellows. As the shadows fled it became clear that some force had tried through trickery to turn them against one another. Phantom could feel the gate way to the shadow dimension close just as Avenger emerged from the shadows. It seemed that its deception uncovered their enemy had chosen to retreat for the moment.
  7. It was mentioned in chat that this build isn't stacked very high in SS Power Feats. This is intentional. He is certainly capable of some of the other odd feats of strength but they are not used that consistently and thus left to power stunts (Remember Power Stunts are not just APs a power stunt can give you any PF on a given power). If this was a PC I would probably stack some Luck and the Centurion definitely had some complications going on, Like Responsibility: The World . Since its an NPC (who honestly is unlikely to see play outside of time travel plots) that is left as setbacks for any poor PC unfortunate to have to face him.
  8. Ok by AA's request a less Kenson build of The Centurion. Not as tight a build as one I would make were I making all the calls but I wanted to stick relatively close to the source material, also kept to the PL and PP totals from the book so while the ultimate builds of our PC's are 2PLs behind they actually have 9pp on him. Players Name: Angrydurf Power Level: 16 241/241pp Trade-Offs: -4 Attack/+4 Save DC; -4 Defense/+4 Toughness Unspent PP: 0 Characters Name: The Centurion Alternate Identity: Mark Leeds History Etc as FC pp. 22; This is a rebuild of the Centurions stats to bring them more in line with our PC base. Stats: 92pp Str: 50 (+20) Dex: 12 (+1) Con: 50 (+20) Int: 12 (+1) Wis: 14 (+2) Cha: 14 (+2) Combat: 12+12=24pp Attack: +6 (+12 melee) Grapple: +33 (Scales up to 46 with SS DAP) Defense: +12 (+3 flat-footed) Knockback: -17 (-30 with full immovability) Initiative: +5 Saves: 13pp Toughness: +20; +14 Impervious (+20 Con) Fortitude: +20 (+20 Con) Reflex: +6 (+1 Dex, +5) Will: +10 (+2 Wis, +8) Skills: 76r = 19pp Diplomacy 6 (+8) Intimidate 8 (+10) Knowledge (Art) 2 (+3) Knowledge (Civics) 4 (+5) Knowledge (History) 9 (+10) Knowledge (Technology) 9 (+10) Knowledge (Theology and Philosophy) 4 (+5) Language 1 (English: Native, Latin) Notice 12 (+14) Profession (Teacher) 6 (+8) Sense Motive 12 (+14) Feats: 22pp Accurate Attack All-Out Attack Attack Focus (melee) 6 Dodge Focus 6 Improved Initiative Inspire Power Attack Second Chance (Will vs. Mind control) Takedown Attack 2 Ultimate Effort (Strength Checks, Toughness) 2 Powers: 71pp Flight 1 (Power Feats: Moving Feint) [3] Immunity 11 (Life support 9, Aging, Starvation/Thirst) [11] Impervious Toughness 14 [14] Paragon Array 13 (PFs: Alternate Power 3, Dynamic 4) [33] BE: Flight 13 AP: Speed 13 (Extras: Linked: Quickness 13) AP: Super-Strength 13 (400,000 Tons max load) AP: Immovable 13 (Extras: Unstoppable) Super Senses 6 (Extended Vision 2(1000' Increment), Extended Hearing 2 (1000' Increment), Ultra-Hearing, Low Light Vision) [6] Super Strength 1 (48 Tons; PFs: Shockwave, Super Breath) [4] Drawbacks: 0pp DC Block: ATTACKS: SAVE DC: DAMAGE TYPE: (Name of Attack) (Save DC/Type) (Type of Damage: Bruise/Injury, or other) Unarmed ------ 35/Toughness ------ Bruise/Staged Costs: Abilities (92) + Combat (24) + Saves (13) + Skills (19) + Feats (22) + Powers (71) - Drawbacks (00) = 241 I tried to keep the changes minimal; Attributes, I dropped the odd numbers down to evens to save a few points. He could afford to lose some Int and dex, probably wis as well l but he's close to breaking even on that; Combat, Went with a 50/50 of dodge/melee focus vs Base Attack/Defense; Saves I pretty much left these as is, More Will would make sense but he does have a second chance for Mind control. If I was keeping less true to the source this is where i would put a chunk of points from Skills and Attributes that really aren't doing much for him; Skills, Dropped concentration since it has no use for him and really didn't make much sense. Shifted some points around to give him a better notice check. He has alot of points sunk into knowledge to represent both his lifespan and Mark Leeds career, I would probably cut these back if I was building from scratch; Feats added in Accurate attack, Take-down attack 2, and Ultimate toughness, Also he's more reliant on melee and dodge focus than the book version; Powers, Folded several into a Paragon Array like I use for Phalanx as well as upping his immunities to life support and his impervious to 14 He could in theory go to 16 with our house rules but honestly even 14 is probably more than is needed.
  9. Ok good starting point. but a few things. First while the additional detail you have here is very nice, particularly in how they are noticeable, I would still like the couple word descriptors with the powers. Secondly I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly you consider these pheromones to be. Pheromones are biological, they could be psychically active but they still need to enter the system biologically meaning they need to be absorbed somehow and be able to integrate with/infect the target, effectively making them a poison in M&M terms. So what you described to me earlier was that the emotion control pheromones had to be inhaled but the mind control and mental transform powers can be absorbed through the skin/eyes etc. That sounds like biological reactions to me. The main use of descriptors is to detect how the powers may be countered, in this case it seems like the emotion control would be countered by a respirator/air tanks, the others by a sealed suit, and all of them by resistance to poisons. Additionally you describe the end result as being psychic, hence she is able to mentally command those under her sway. So the short form descriptors sound to me like they would be Pheromones(airborne, poison) and Psychic.
  10. Ace turns to Atlas as the lovebirds flit away, "Well My Large Red Friend," He says with a smile, "It looks like you and I are all that's left for the victory celebration. What say we see just how much fine vodka it takes to get you drunk." he adds with a wink and a nod. He follows his proclamation with a sweeping bow inviting Atlas to lead the way to the locker rooms and exit.
  11. Initiaive (1d20=6)
  12. As they careened off the building Phalanx came to his senses forcing down the wave of nausea at Edges encouraging words he Braced himself against the sphere and pushed them up and out of traffic. As he began peering around to see if the others were in sight he pulled Edge to his feet, "You see them?" he asked his normally luck partner.
  13. Alright full-round action to break the bubble. I'll set the paragon array to 2 super-strength and 7 flight. According to breaking objects its save is 5+tougness (11 in this case)=16 VS DC 15(base)+14(strength)+2(Super-Strength)=31 which is fail by 15 or destroyed. Then extra effort to stunt Super senses 4 (Counters Concealment: visual 2, Extended 2 (1000' range increment)) off of super-sight array. Free action to tell Edge what building they are on top of. I'll burn the HP at the top of the next round to clear the Fatigue. Ok Cancel all that. Guess Mark didn't stop the ball after all. Strength check to stop the balls motion (1d20+14=22) +9(ss) is 31 HP to Reroll Strength check to stop ball (1d20+14=23) +10 is 33 +9 for SS = 41 ball is stopped. Move action to pull Mark to his feet.
  14. "Well I'm glad we can agree on that much." Ace said with a genuine smile, "Judging from the map here it looks like it won't require a Jet to reach it in time." He looked at the overlay on the display trying to discern where an entrance might be. "I'm more concerned with ensuring that we're able to find the entrance and infiltrate undetected. S.H.A.D.O.W. has only grown more vile in their years underground and a direct showdown with an entire base of trained soldiers is not nearly as much fun as it might sound." As he spoke Ace absently rubbed at his side remembering the first, and lat, time he had made that rash mistake. Just then the screen cleared and Vince announced across the loudspeaker, "Robbery in progress at the Super Museum. Assailants look to be members of the Power corps. Accessing video feed one moment." Ace shook his head, "I didn't think they were that desperate." A second later the screen cut to a series of grainy security camera shots of three power armored men menacing the staff and visitors to the Museums War Years wing while a fourth began cutting into an armored display case, "Likelihood of response before escape of perpetrators 5%" Announced VINCE. Ace frowned, "Never tell me the odds." he growled then turning to Edge inquired, "You said you thought you might have a way of getting us around quicker?"
  15. Phalanx set them down next the big gun and shook off the droning voices with some effort, disturbing in its implications certainly, but he had no time for such things. As Psyche began to examine the weapons controls he reached down to grab hold of the mammoth cannon. He could feel the energies trying to suppress his powers already but fought through and with a mighty heave ripped it free from its moorings preparing to throw the vile thing into the waiting maw of the volcano.
  16. Alright sounds good. Also gives folks time to tell me not to throw it in the volcano it its a Bad Idea tm :)
  17. I generally think of it as being like a power stunt but for skills. Like for instance Arrowhawk has an arrow for every situation but really only has like or so in his array that he uses with any regularity the rest are power stunts. Ace is the same but with skills he's done a ton in his life so has lots of skills, with beginners luck he can "remember" how to fly a plane when he needs it. the ranks from beginners luck do stick around for a scene so it works pretty well for that. Really there are alot of skills that its handy to have a few ranks in but so situational that its hard to justify spending pp on them so beginners luck fills in well.
  18. As well connected doesn't exist I must say beginers luck Actually for Jack I would say beginners luck would be better than either connected, contacts, or Well informed (I assume you meant one of those by Well connected )
  19. Slight of hand is definitely something to leave to Jack of all Trades, especially with your dex. Diplomacy is a tougher case as it is definitely in JoaB's idiom but is actually nigh useless in most circumstances. Also look at picking up a couple ranks of luck and Beginners luck its basically stunting skills so rarely used ones can be dropped in favor of that.
  20. There are myriad parallel earths and there is no published one that fits with Colts background so just make up whatever name you like for it. Erin Comes from A zombie Earth or as phantom has refered to them "Romero Earths" but even that is Phantom being a Horror buff not an official designation. The Freedom league generally uses an alphanumeric code for alt earths and some of the more memorable ones get a specific moniker, Earth Ape, Anti-earth, Erde, Ani-Earth etc
  21. Well informed actually only applies to gather Info about a specific person, when you first meet them in fact. Not for general knowledge. However as I did not earlier realize you had no Streetwise (I'll have to read sheets more closely) We'll say that's a success There's an organic peanut roaster in west side. Most of the area around it is long time residential, but there has been new construction retrofitting a lot about a block away if the wind was right or if Aces contact had a good nose the smell could carry that far.
  22. Sleep with a student? Seriously though I think she could just have quit over the winter break, maybe teaching wasn't her cup of tea, ill behaved students with super powers can be taxing for a first time teacher I'm sure ;)
  23. Ace pulled the device from his pocket as he closed his phone and quickly scanned the heroes once more, "It seems unlikely that the levels we were exposed to will have any deleterious effects. From what I've read there has been little to fear from exposure to such energies, some possible complications to pregnant women, his eyes flicked for a moment to Grimalkin, but nothing I think any of us have to worry about." "As for needing some one to talk too I believe she has plenty of that at the moment," he says as he nods to Jack and Dark Star heading off after her. "I'll see if I can wrangle up some experts to see her about the energies."
  24. Streetwise check to see if you can think of where in the west end might smell of peanuts Jack. Those not west end residents can't make the check :(
