  1. The AI flickering to life on the screen if nothing else substantiated the Rumors that the interceptors were Archevilles pet project. Ace chuckled at the almost vaudevillian routine as the walked to the bases nerve center. Turning to the young heroes Ace laid what he knew of the case on the table, "I suspect S.H.A.D.O.W. has established a base in Freedom City." He paused for a moment before continuing, "I met with an old contact of mine who tipped me off that they are shopping around the city for top end thief. She didn't have many details but was taken blindfolded to a meeting room, it sounded like it was in a larger base of operations though." He glanced to Jack, "Which is where you come in, she was certain the entrance was in the west side and she distinctly caught the scent of peanuts in the air just before heading into the base, though the took to many turns for her to be certain of the exact local." He looked to Edge, "The target is a device currently on loan to the super museum, an seemingly harmless artifact recovered from an SS base in Austria after the war. It's not know what exactly the device does but with the kind of talent they were scouting they want it badly enough that we DO NOT want them to get their grubby Nazi hands on it."
  2. Strength check (1d20+23=31) HP Reroll (1d20+23=36)
  3. Mike stepped forward instinctively as the couple dropped off the roof shaking his head as the awning caught them. The tall boy took a couple steps forward and sheepishly apologized, "Sorry about that didn't see ya till the last second there." He offered the new girl a weak smile, seems in the end Marks luck had won out anyway.
  4. Quick note IIRC almost all the shadow academy was in the PL 6-8 range (with a few exceptions) and wouldn't be much threat to a group of PL 10-12's. Even Malice as scary as he is would be hard pressed to even up those odds and get away, though in Geez3rs hands he probably could.
  5. Ace winced as Jack brought up the pregnancy. He had honestly suspected that Avenger would raise the concern first, though really he should have known half hearted and after the fact sentimentality was more Avengers style. "Well if all goes according to plan Phantom will be in no more danger than if she stayed huddled here behind these wards." He said plainly, "Moreover I do not think a single one of us has a chance of getting her to do any such thing, if she's going to be in the fight best have it be on our terms." He smiled at Taylor to show he meant that as the complement it was., "As I see it we have three primary goals with this endeavor, To lure the doppelganger to us, to best him and to imprison him is some fashion." He glanced around for argument then continued, "I am confident that we can lure him to us as we discussed and hopefully best him once we do so." He nods to Jack of all Blades and Phantom, "As for the last however I am at a bit of a loss, as he's extra-dimensional we have to assume he has the means of crossing such barriers thus Phantoms normal prison will prove ineffective, We must manage to not only contain him but render his powers ineffective."
  6. Background looks ok overall. I'd like the description of her powers to be included in her description (Mind control victims eyes turning black, what her devices look like when in use if anything, flight needs a descriptor like rockets or jetsons style antigrav rings) the tech needs descriptions of what tech makes them work (antigrav forcefields or what not) All the powers need descriptors. From what it sounds like her 'Psychic pheromones" would be Psychic, gas(Skin contact or inhaled), Poison, not sure about mental transform as its not really described at all. I like the atmospheric differences explaining the potency of her powers here but I think rather than "a vast amount of Krypton" you should say that it has "A much higher concentration of Krypton in it which normally neutralizes some of the pheromones potency." A vast amount sounds like it would be an active part of Waloran respiration which since she breaths earth air fine doesn't sound like the case. Numbers add up but a couple concerns; Bluff, diplomacy, and Sense motive are too high in comparison with her professional skills (Primarily knowledge (Behavorial sciences) but also the lack of an actual profession skill related to being a therapist which her background denotes is where she started) being somewhat higher as she has been more about the manipulation of people in the more recent time frame is fine but more than double is too much. I'm gonna say no to powerful taunt as a challenge feat since no other refs have spoken up in favor of it.
  7. Ace eased the car back into traffic and quickly followed Jack of all Blades directions to the entrance to the Interceptors secret underground lair. Ace swung the car next to the towering MAVERIC, where Colt usually parked his star cycle, he and Grimalkin having apparently taken it on whatever errand had them out of the base that day. He hopped out of the car twirling the keys around his finger as he slipped them into his pocket.
  8. Arm still around Alex, Mike led the way towards the cafeteria, "Its not nearly as bad as they make it out to be, better than home cooking any day of the week if you ask me but I'm told my opinion may be an aberration." "Besides," He added with a laugh, "Its chicken nuggets day. Can't screw up chicken nuggets."
  9. A few moments after Jack landed on the roof Ace pulled up to the curb and turned to the bandanna'd swordsman, "Just that man I wanted to see." He said with a smile, "Jack Of All Blades this is Edge." He tossed off as an introduction. "You have anywhere more private we could talk? I believe there's something going down out here but I need your expertise on the neighborhood."
  10. Ok lets see what works. Unrealiable checks, Enhanced STR; Enhanced Con; Paragon Array. over ten and they work! (1d20=14, 1d20=18, 1d20=16) They all work. Missed immunity Immunity: Life Support Over 10 and it works (1d20=18) Not worrying about super-senses right now as he's not really using them. Setting paragon Array to 9 super-strength heavy load is 800tons. How much does this gun weigh?
  11. Ace nodded approval at the costume, he wasn't much for the whole spandex thing himself but the kid made it work in a retro kinda way. Ace led the way to the express elevator and down to the basement parking garage. He strode quickly to his custom Silver Aston Martin and gestured for edge to hop in briefing him on the way, "My ... Lady friend was contacted about a possible job, but she turned it down due to history with the employer." Ace explained, "She did go to a meet that she's fairly certain was in the west end, but they had her blindfolded, but the place they were meeting smelt of peanuts." Ace then began heading to the west end as if that explained everything weaving the sleek sports car in and out of traffic with ease.
  12. Mike shrugged a small frown tugging at the corner of his mouth. "It was sufficient but I think I'll have to work on spacial awareness more, especially when I'm looking through things. At least mark was there to grab her before I hit I'm not sure I could have stopped any sooner." He shook off the melancholy moment and grinned, "That's why we practice right? Though I think for now on we should keep the practice sessions to the simulators." He glanced up to the roof and silently asked Alex 'Should I go apologize?'
  13. Ace was somewhat taken aback by the similarity now that it was brought into such sharp relief. "Ah...No," Ace said with a smile, "She was but a piece of the plot and I already know all she does." He winked at Mark quickly, "And for the record Knockout Lipstick is cheating." Ace began flipping through a small map book of Freedom City then tossed it aside, "Useless, I need to talk to someone who knows those streets." He said in disgust then snapped his fingers, "Jack! Just have to try and find him." Following scarce clues with the world in peril this was what it was all about in Ace's mind, "Come on kid we gotta look for a swordsman."
  14. As the student stepped out of the building Mike wrenched himself off of his trajectory at the last second narrowly avoiding slamming into Erin as he pulled out of his steep dive. He had known practice in the quad was a bad idea, how did mark manage to talk him into these things? As Alex's mental call went out over the field he dropped to the ground at a more sedate pace looking around to see where mark and the girl had ended up.
  15. Ace rubbed the circulation back into his wrists and thanked the young man, "Quite a similarity there you are correct," he replied recalling the incident with a small smile, that had definitely been a night well worth the outcome. He looked Mark over consideringly for a moment, "Normally I'd send you on your way as my day has taken a sudden turn for the dramatic," He waved off Marks inevitable protestation, "BUT, if you go call your father and get permission you can stick with me as long as you promise to listen to instruction and direction." Even as he spoke the words he knew it was likely going to bite him in the ass later but Ace Danger had some very unique ideas on proper raising of children. The legendary Hero gestured towards the living room phone as he began to stand, and by the time Mark was done with the phone call he was fully dressed and straightening his hat in the mirror. "All set my lad?"
  16. The plan seemingly resolved at least enough for his part Phalanx peered through the cover of the quad and slowly drifted up into the air for a better angle of attack if he needed to intercept Wander or one of the others. As soon as he spotted the oppositions flag he relayed the information to Zephyr and prepared to hold up Wanders charge across the midfield. As soon as she was in the relative open he shot towards her at several times the speed of sound.
  17. Ace smiled at the boy, "How else but by the timely arrival of a helpful young contest winner." He said nudging his head toward the bonds. "First lesson of the day, young Mr. Lucas, never trust a woman, especially if she's an unrepentant thief, no matter how beautiful." Not that this was a lesson he was likely to learn, Ace certainly hadn't and he'd had more than enough opportunity over the years.
  18. Mark Lucas was a lucky young man and well used to winning assorted contests but this was quite the prize, A day with Ace Danger. He arrived right on time traffic being surprisingly light, as he stepped from the cab a gorgeous blond called out, "Hold the cab." as she emerged from the main entry of One Pyramid Plaza, and hurried down the steps to slide gracefully into the back seat, "Thanks tiger." She said and blew the lucky young man a kiss. *** Upstairs Ace didn't know where it had all gone wrong. Well to be honest he knew it had gone wrong the instant he had invited Talya up for a nightcap, he really only had himself to blame for his current predicament. She had come to him though, and with information on a job she had turned down, hope springs eternal he supposed but she was unlikely to ever fully reform. The bonds were of course quite well tied, she was a professional after all. Not the best conditions under which to meet the scion of house Lucas but the boy was undoubtedly on his way. 'Well,' Thought Ace 'there could certainly be worse winners of that damnable Day with Ace Danger contest, given the circumstances.'
  19. Ace Danger, Jack of all Blades, and Edge foil a nefarious S.H.A.D.O.W. plot.
  20. Aces eye fluttered open and he smiled up at Stesha, "Well that is certainly a pleasant change of scenery." he uttered in an entirely inappropriate tone given the circumstances. He began reaching into his coat for something but did not stand seeming for the moment content to lounge with his head in Steshas Lap.
  21. 1d20+16=24 that's ten over the base of 10 for 3 conditions healed, Ace LIVES. an Injury and bruise remain but the disabled and staggered conditions are healed.
  22. Ace turned to Jack, "Phantom acts a dimensional guardian of sorts she confirmed that We are dealing with an extra dimensional Dark Star." Addressing the group once more he inquired, "You say he was targeting you, Phantom?" he looked thoughtful for a moment, "It seems likely then that he would try such again, our best chance of luring him would then be with you." Ace begins absently patting his pockets as if looking for something mumbling slightly to himself as if working out a plan.
  23. Ace beckoned Atlas over before explaining his findings, "It seems that Fulcrum is powered by certain energies, judging from Jacks response I would say they flared significantly when she cut loose at the end of the match." He slid the device into his pocket once more, "The force-field absorbed most of it but the front few rows were exposed none the less. I think Dark Star should be able to take care of any adverse effects but I imagine Jack wishes to speak to her about the incident." He sighed as he pulled out his cell phone and began scrolling through his contacts list, "Worse I have reason to believe the source of those energies may be the Terminus, though I don't know enough to say if she is generating them or merely saturated." He quickly began making calls assuring several concerned watchdog groups that he was investigating the matter of the energy burst personally and he would of course keep them in the loop.
  24. Ace's eyes settled on the sheet draped corpse for a brief moment before he looked up to Taylor and Avenger. "This is Jack of All Blades," He said as introduction of his companion, "There are perhaps others who could aid our cause but contacting them would undoubtedly tip our hand." He explained. "I leave you to give what names you wish to him but he is trustworthy." Glancing once more to Avenger he replied, "There is no means of contacting Dark Star that could not be intercepted and likely receive a spoofed reply." He sighed and looked once more at the corpse on the floor, "Additionally I don't think its beyond reason to assume that he knows at least some of what our Dark Star knew."
  25. After Edge split the teams Phalanx joined his in finding a suitable place to hide the flag and quickly outline strategy. "Alright I should be able to find the flag as soon as we start," it didn't even occur to him to watch as the other team hid it in the first place, "I'll relay the info to Zephyr, she should be able to get to it quickest anyway, Geckoman and Breakdown one of you should be on defense since you can hide and probably tell if some one is sneaking up better than me or zephyr, the other should be ready to back up zephyr on her way back?" As far as strategies went it was pretty simple, also predictable but plans wasn't really Mikes thing he looked to his team to see if anyone else had a better plan.
