The Aston Martin raced through the quite North Bay streets heading for Danger manor, "I'm quiet aware of the difficulties this presents. He is powerful and deadly dangerous, he also knows enough about our Dark Star to target those close to him. But he is not invulnerable, he is susceptible to energy attacks and hopefully shares some of our Dark Stars tendencies towards direct action." The car swung up the drive to Danger manor itself, and came to a stop at the base of the steps, a diminutive dark skinned servant presented phone on a long cord to Ace who quickly dialed a number. When the other end picked up he spoke quickly, "We're at the manor ready for pick up, I'm sticking to land lines as he should have more difficulty intercepting those."

The sports car roared to life as Ace sped away, "Primarily the later though it may well require the former." Ace explained, "There is a doppelganger of Dark Star that has arrived on earth recently, to the best of our knowledge it is as capable if not more so than the Dark Star we know." the car wove effortlessly through the traffic, Ace glanced to Jack to ensure the levity of his words sunk in, "It is also likely completely without morals." Ace's voice was hard as steel as he spoke.

Ace seemed nonplussed over Jacks upset. "If I had time to worry about your pretty little lie I assure you I would have. A dear friend of mine may already be dead so I don't and you'll have to accept my apology for whatever trouble it brings you." Ace stated plainly. "If you must, tell them you won that contest to spend a day with Ace Danger you entered when you were ten." He quickly checked his watch and glanced nervously skywards. "In the meantime get your stuff, there's trouble that requires a man of your talents and we have very little time." Ace commanded flatly.

Ace hung up and took a deep breath, he only hoped he was right about Stesha and the Mankana. Right now however he hadn't time to concern himself with what ifs. If there was a being of Dark Stars ability with evil intentions they had little time. He took the grand central staircase two steps at a time as he called for some specialized equipment he might need as he headed for the Garage and slid behind the wheel of the silver Aston Martin. He made some hurried calls to shore up his info on the young hero he hoped could help them with Dark Star. The sleek sports car roared to life and sped onto the quiet streets of North Bay, he sped on his way arriving in record time in the West End neighborhood that was home to the irascible Jack Of All Blades. He swung the car smoothly into a small space in front of the Espadas residence and quickly mounted the stairs to the front door. Ringing the doorbell he waited with what patience he could muster.

He was tempted to inquire if Taylor was certain she had in the past had difficulties telling live from dead in the past but in the end if they had been attacked by a being of Dark Stars power the evidence was likely clear. That would be a matter best handled when he could see for himself what had happened. "As for those capable of taking on Dark Star, the list is very limited, more-so with Archeville in orbit, We can't risk a transmission summoning him back though." Ace thought out loud into the phone. "I think I have just the man for the job, where should we meet?"

Ace answered almost immediately, "Taylor, good to hear from you. Hows the domestic life treating you?" he inquired nonchalantly as he went over his speech he was to give at a charity benefit that evening. Picking up on the faint tremble in her voice, and her quickness of breath he shooed the servants from the room, asking with concern "Is everything alright?"

Ok heritage why does a character that is primarily a cop have 12 ranks of knowledge (Arcane) and Craft (artistic) while only 6 ranks of investigate and Profession (police officer), and no ranks of knowledge (civics)? At twelve ranks we're talking about being a well known expert in the field, it doesn't make much sense that that is her primary skill set and yet she's a police officer, even in a supernatural crimes division I would expect that the her arcane knowledge would be in line with her actual police skills and other than the desire to use artificer I see no real explanation for the craft skill.

Gadgets set to Supersenses 5 (Detect energy, acute, analytical, Ranged, extended) Is the crowds exposure at dangerous levels?

Ace started toward the Jack of all Blades when he collapsed but the speedy changeling beat him to the swordsman's side. Probably for the best the thought as his teammate was more likely to know what was the matter. When Jack put out his call for a radiation shield however he grew more concerned. Pulling a small device from his pocket he subtly scanned Fulcrum his eyebrows raising slightly at the results. He quickly did a perfunctory scan of the crowd as well to see if much of the Terminus energies had been absorbed by the crowd. Hopefully Dark Stars forcefield had absorbed the worst of those foul energies.

Couple things on this, first off I don't like the idea of shutting down concepts like a supernatural crimes detective other than your sidekick, I even have one approved . Secondly the FCPD is specifically detailed as having pretty free reign budgetarily "The city government spares no expense for Kane or her department, but they also expect a return on their investment." FC p.68 I recognize that this is on the old version too but it doesn't really mesh with the world as written. Perhaps something like, "She's one of the few detectives willing to work in the unglamorous supernatural crimes division."

No not really a better way for the points. Just wanted to bring up that it can be pretty tricky to maintain sneak attacks. I would suggest going with a mighty strike or even some kind of weapon (Club tonfa etc) when you get the points though. Alright the Can't be moved aspect seems good enough so We'll say Approved, pending Gold Status

Ok two things first off a suggestion/comment. Sneak attack 1 is generally worth it particularly if you have (as you do) a reliable way to take advantage of it, its just a flawed strike after all. The higher ranks retain the flaw without offering the cost break. Secondly I'm not certain about the drawback. Particularly the "countered by air/wind powers" Normally that's just covered with descriptors. As one of your descriptors of that would seem to be (Gaseous cloud) they would already be able to counter its effects. Do you mean it gets no defense against such counters and is dissipated as soon as any kind of air/wind power is brought to bear on it? Ok make that three things. Descriptors of your powers please. Either attached to each power Power X (Name/Descriptor; extras: whatever; Flaws: whatever; Power Feats: whatever; Drawbacks: whatever;), Or if they are all the same at the top of the powers section (All powers are {Descriptor})

I don't think the full round action flaw can apply to enhanced fort and super-strength. If it takes an action to activate them its a drawback but it doesn't look like you were counting the points for them anyway (74pp in the device without them). So you can just remove those flaw and it should be good to go.

Winged flight (meaning you can't fly if your wings are restrained) is is a 1pt drawback. If the wings are only ornamental and you can fly regardless it would be full cost.

A quick note on the gadgets dilemma. With the gadgets power being easy to lose that's all of your gadgets not just the one in hand. So with a disarm check an opponent can take away all of your gadgets. I see what you are going for though and I have the same goal with Ace. He has his gadgets as hard to lose (as you basically have to search him for all his goodies) but a complication that many of his individual gadgets are disarm-able. So he can be disarmed of a specific device as a setback (and get and HP) but can still re-configure his gadgets to a new power. Numbers look good.

Well the character wasn't active when he was around. I doubt he'd care much honestly.

Personally I'm fully willing to move the other Midnight II into the realm of "What If". Particularly since he only had 1 somewhat abortive thread before being retired. What say the rest of you refly types?
