Moira - Miss Martian - PL12 Villain (NPC Tier 2)
angrydurf replied to Moira Morley's topic in Archived Characters
Alright its an NPC villain so that's fine if that's the way you want it to go. Stats: Still need an explanation for the ultra high un-enhanced Charisma but numbers are good. Combat: good Saves: No reflex? Skills: Exhaustive study of her chosen field makes sense for the really high numbers here but her lack of other skills seems odd. Why has she not kept abreast of Current events or Pop Culture, Why no Theology and philosophy if her people are "Free Thinking Philosophers"? Feats: I'll invite other refs to chip in their opinions but I'm not comfortable with powerful taunt especially on a character with such a maxed bluff. Skill mastery is for four skills. Powers: The devices need descriptors. Mental Transform is allowed but be aware that as it renders effectively permanent changes excessive use (Particularly on PC's) is frowned upon. To be frank this is a horrid match up for Divine as she literally can not resist any of Mrs. Martians powers. One use of mind control and its all over. -

I think changing this up to something like 'until they broke to her will' or 'until they lost themselves to her machinations.' Might be more in keeping with the rest of the flavor you present. -
Ace had actually rather enjoyed the match, two skilled competitors in a delicate dance of pugilistic pride. When it came to its crescendo, like most of the audience he was on his feet cheering them on. As Grim hit the mat he glanced around quizzically, "Did she just ... pass out?" he asked no one in particular as the medics quickly determined she was basically uninjured.

Alright got clarification on the healing its fine as the effects objects and objects only basically cancel out to make it like the original healing effect only for constructs.
-
Yea there are probably several characters that should be looked at Its a general guideline we try to use of keeping it to approximately half of your main attack/defense coming from base. This is pretty well kept too on most characters particularly for initial approvals less so on char-edits. Yours is fine as is. The requires blood thing was just a suggestion of how alot of vamps are built. I believe that since she is a construct she requires effects objects to be healed by the effect. When I first looked at the elongation I assumed the grapple only SS was to keep the length down but then I saw the grapple score. Either way works fine. I'm not sure if the tail needs to be an extra limb or not though if it is that can replace improved grapple. Extra non-manipulatory limbs confuse me to be honest.

Mike continued to block the assorted snowballs whizzing their way, occasionally batting them out of the air with one long arm while crouching in front of Alex. He had abandoned his own light coat in favor of better mobility and carried on his portion of the battle in t-shirt and jeans the frigid air not seeming to touch him. He had thus far refrained from firing off any snowballs of his own but as he saw Eddie he grinned wide and called out, "Eddie, think fast!" as he slung a loosely packed snowball at his friend confident that the chilly projectile would do no harm even at the startling speed it traveled.

Yea she's right on the edge of the ratio of base attack/def to feat based attack/def but is within the acceptable range so that's not too bad. Elongation gives +1 to grapple per rank so her grapple score with tail being used is 24. Also you could just get another rank of elongation instead of the limited super strength. The real potential sticking point I see is the vampire portion. The con drain with the heal is mostly ok but I'm uncertain about objects only on a personal healing effect for a construct. Its not really a flaw under those circumstances as it will always be able to affect her and can only ever effect her anyway. Usually vampires have a Requires Blood flaw on their Regen as they don't really heal naturally. If you can morph away the scales and still have the Protection I'm not sure its a valid drawback. Thats what I see on my first run through.

Nyrath - Black Anubis - PL13 Villain (NPC Tier 3)

Alright looks good Approved -
Mike nodded at that blushing slightly at the mention of a family, far off as it may be. "Well I imagine those studies didn't account for the attacks being targeted because of your relations but I see your point." He replied after taking his own pizza. "It is at that." He agreed heartily as he took a bite. He paused to wipe a stray strand of cheese from her chin. "Well I guess in the end though its like anything else you just do what you can to keep people safe."

Ok looks good just one thing I missed last time around, could you add what aspects of language he has comprehend for, with 4 ranks I think that'd be understand all speak all simultaneously and read/write all but writing it out would be helpful. -

Well until I get the fluff I can't really say if all of those choices make sense. However a few quick points based off of her crooks representation. She is into high tech crime to a fair degree, her computers pilot and knowledge (tech) all were there due to the alien thing but because she came from a more advanced society where that baseline understanding was common. Attractive VS. Standard Bluff/Diplomacy. Yes it's not the best feat out there but if her bluff and diplomacy is based on her "sexy" it should be attractive not the skills, if its not sex appeal that's fine but sex appeal is limited to those interested in the person Trance is bad so ditching it makes sense especially with no concentration. Second chance will saves did make a bit of sense with her stronger than average mind but if you're moving her away from psychic phenomenon that works. Challenge feats are on a case by case basis and I'm not sure I'm comfortable with ranking the feat like that. That's a pretty big stack of minuses she can unleash particularly with her bluff stacked to such absurd levels. If she doesn't have the ring and is still extra-terrestrial she'll need at least 1 rank of language to represent learning an earthly language. Really with her focus on interaction skills she was well served by a cheap device that guaranteed her target would be vulnerable. On to the stacking of absurd levels of Charisma and bluff/diplomacy. I don't like it particularly not as "natural" charisma though it is possible that her species is just has an exceptional force of personality normally even if she is an exceptional example the average charisma of her race would be higher than the human max. If her charisma isn't natural (coming from latent psychic phenomenon or pheromones or some such) then it would need to be at least partially enhanced not just all natural. Similarly the skills are really at such a level as to be out of sync with any background that doesn't pretty specifically detail that she has trained extensively in these areas and how and why she did so. As I said above "the sexy" isn't a good enough reason if its not tied to attraction as it is in the feat. -
Ace sets his gadgets to rank 1 insubstantial to break from the grapple. His body is now effectively liquid.
-
Ace grunted in pain as the sword slid through his torso and into the ground behind him his eyes swimming for a moment. 'Fast zombie,' He thought, 'What ever happened to good old fashioned slow zombies.' "Good try toots," Ace said managing a slight grin, "But you forget one thing." Ace pulls a small vial from his coat pocket and quickly quaffs the Tears of Atlantis. His body shimmers for a moment taking on a translucent hue as he steps to the side the blade sliding harmlessly through his now liquid form. "I'm Ace Danger." The immortal says with a wink.

Effects from power attack defensive attack etc last until the next round. So your second attack would have both the penalty for power and defensive attack making it a +1 attack and DC 22.
-
You can get a equipment Grapple gun for 2 ep that allows use of the swinging power. For each additional ep you can add a rank of linked speed I wouldn't go above 1 or 2 ranks of linked speed though.
-
Mike nodded obliviously. The full repercussions and subtext behind Zoe and Eddies relationship still eluded him, likely willfully. "You're probably right, but willing to keep a secret and able to are definitely not the same thing." He replied with a grin. "I dunno I don't think Mark has much to worry about in that department his family has been pretty public all along I doubt there's much point in hiding it now." He paused thoughtfully, "Erin might need to though, I mean it would be pretty bad if someone went after the Erin from here thinking it was her." He gestured awkwardly trying ti indicate which 'her' he was speaking of.
-
Ace watched the match cheering along with the crowd. Jack was certainly providing a good show though if he didn't know better he would say the barbs were digging deeper than intended with Grimalkin. "Well it seems Jacks wit is as sharp as his blades. Hopefully he doesn't forget that in order to win he'll have to throw a punch not just avoid hers." Ace said with small laugh.
-
For the sake of exploring my options a couple questions AA. Is reconfiguring my gadgets possible while pinned? Immobile but not helpless isn't well defined. (assuming the corrected edits to his sheet are allowed, and happen) Given the description of this 'Grapple' can I stunt Immunity 5(Entrapment; Flaws: Limited: Grapple only) [3] off my Regen? Basically Ace just pulling himself off the sword since he can't die anyway.

Power attack caps at 5 and autofire caps at your base damage mod or 10 whichever is less.
-
So these changes were made it looks like as the HQ has been fixed and the complication added but Gadgets wasn't added. So if someone could do that it'd be great. DONE BY SHÆNTHEBRAIN
-
"Huh." Mike replied noncommittally as if he hadn't ever really considered those options, "I suppose that's true. and I guess its not much of a leap to go from I'm a psychic to I'm Psyche." He wasn't particularly attached to the idea of keeping it all secret anyway but going fully public just seemed to be glory hounding. "Well Eddie's gonna make his fortune at some point and probably be 'out' as it were so I suppose its hopeless anyway." He resolved with a grin. He wasn't sure how out and out he'd want to be though, he'd rather be judged on his own terms rather than what people saw on TV or read in the papers.
-
"Well the files are sealed but I guess it being known at all mostly invalidates the normal reasons for secret ID's" Mike replied casually. He didn't really get the big deal about their records but both of their parents and Alex seemed to be fairly concerned about them. "But that doesn't mean we'd have to go totally public." he continued after all it wasn't like the government or anyone wasn't going to trust them just because they had powers.
-
"Alright that works I guess." Mike replied. He didn't like fighting his friends but if Mark and Alex both thought it was needed training they were probably right. He then nodded agreement to the terms and took up position next to Mark ready to intercept Wanders attack if she went that route again and peered about in hopes of discovering Alex's presence.
-
Mike blushed and laughed nervously, "Well there would be that too I guess." He replied quietly. "Anyway I figure that'll work out for the best, I can get the basic training done over the summer after we graduate if not earlier." he continued. He was thoughtful for a few minutes then agreed with her assessment on EMT classes as well, "Yea the EMT thing would be handy, maybe I'll see if I can wedge in something this semester." Mike then inquired, "What about you? I know your planning on grad school and everything any thoughts on where?" There were several options in Freedom of course but a part of him wanted to know she wasn't going much further afield either.
