1. Ick Grappling 1d20+16=23 Stupid IC 1d20+6=22 But he's Ok folks. So did that use up my standard to defend from the grapple? Or do I get another shot at breaking out.
2. Ok Array looks fine except for growth. As a base 3pp/rank with 2 extras and a -2 flaw its total cost would be 48pp so its 13 points over. Growth strike I don't think would apply as it adds to an existent damage effect and plants cant attack on their own. If you want a 'Trees shoot up and clobber people' kind of attack I think another AP based on a damage effect would be the way to go . I also took the liberty of formatting the array according to the new Character sheet the Code for it is below along with my counts for each array slots points spent. Snare 15 (entangling vines; PFs: Indirect 3, Obscure sense: Sight, Improved Range, Alternate Power 10) [45pp] AP: Disintegrate 6 (dissolving plants; Extra: Duration/Sustained; Flaw: Limited/Plant Material; PF: Incurable, Precise, Reversible, Split Attack) (1 point available) AP: Dimensional Pocket 3 (inside magic flower; Extras: Duration 3/Continuous, Range/Ranged; PFs: Indirect 3, Progression 12 [1,000,000 lbs], Sneak Attack) (1 point available) AP: ESP 6 (looking through plants; twenty miles, sight and hearing; Extras: Action/free action, No Conduit, Simultaneous; Flaw: Medium/Plants; PFs: Dimensional 2 [any plant], Subtle) (2 points available) AP: Growth 15 (making plants bigger; Extra: Affects Others, Duration: Continuous; Flaw: Limited/Plants (-2); PFs: Growth Strike, Sneak Attack, Subtle) (13 points over) AP: Healing 15 (fixing up plants; Extras: Area/Burst, Total; Flaw: Plants only (-2); PFs: Progression 2, Persistent, Regrowth, Stabilize) AP: Healing 15 (Extras: Total; Flaws: Distracting, PFs: Persistent, Regrowth, Stabilize) (2 points available) AP: Move Object 13 (moving w/vines; effective Str 65; PFs: Accurate, Improved Disarm, Improved Grab, Improved Pin, Precise, Indirect 3) (1 point available) AP: Nullify 10 (making plants produce lots of oxygen; Any air-based effect; Extras: Nullifying Field, Effortless; PFs: Progression (100 foot area), Selective, Subtle) (2 Points available) AP: Stun 15 (pollen burst; Extras: Range/Ranged, Sleep; Flaw: Action/Full PFs: Reversible, Precise, Sedation) (2 points available) AP: Teleport 9 (stepping through plants; 900 feet/20,000 miles; Extra: Accurate; Flaw: Medium/Plants; PFs: Change Direction, Change Velocity, Easy, Turnabout, Progression 11 [500,000 lbs]) (2 points available)
3. Ace can't beat that and as its just them I think you'll go first.
4. Yup just magic senses
5. Thats it turn that low initiative into caution ;)
6. Sounds like Ace and Colt are going with no powers (not that either really have any applicable), no gear. As for fighting styles I'm pretty open to whatever, Sounds like Colts more of a brawler than pugilist after all. Since mechanically its all the same basically I think keeping assorted styles open will be more entertaining.
7. Confused zombies: 1d20=9; Shamble and groan in place. Creature is no-more, Dead Head is up.
8. Ace carefully schooled his face to show no surprise at the revelation. The league often hied off to the far corners of the world or even the solar system, however a complete absence without announcement of whatever crisis had called their attention was unusual. Even more unusual was that Ace hadn't heard of the absence. Given normal delivery times Lady Liberty's message would have left near the time of the leagues departure. Given the urgency expressed however it may have been sent later. Regardless she likely had some inkling that they would be called away. That of course assuming the messages had indeed come from the heroine and not as part of some deeper plot, not hearing word was making him paranoid Ace thought. The league was called away to answer some threat or another anything more sinister was purely speculation, for the time being at least. "Well Amy," Ace said affably no trace of uncertainty in his voice, "The league has concerns that spread far beyond this city. They take the world as a whole as their charge to protect." Ace looked back to Freedom Hall for a moment its stark emptiness revelatory in its own way. "If I knew anything that I was at liberty to discuss on the matter you would be the first to know." The charming hero said turning back to the young reporter with a knowing wink. "For the time being take heart in knowing that wherever the league has been called my fellows and I along with many others still stand Guardian over the great city of Freedom."
9. You left out "And almost exclusively the province of hunters." :P
10. We'll say 3 groups of 2. Though they may split up more later (bright cultists they are think splitting up is the answer)
11. Ok so damaging Move object clearly has to obey normal cap rules (PL for perception range; trade off modified for ranged). If I recall correctly the same goes for non-damaging Move Object due to grapple still being possible. (Though Super-strength/elongation doesn't face this restriction so is grapple really PL capped?) So would you be able to buy uncapped Move object that can't be used for any attack (like a No Grapple flaw) or would you buy progression to represent being able to lift more though not being any stronger really for grapple purposes? Idea being basically super heavy lifting Move Object effect.
12. Well you shoulda said that in the first place I'll edit and say you took down a few of them.
13. With a horrific rending sound the head portion of the Creature separated from the patchwork body sending up a geyser of foul smelling ichor to cover its giant red assailant. The body lay suddenly and eerily still in the aftermath of its destruction. Avenger fell amongst the cultists easily dispatching any who didn't manage to avoid his wrathful blows. The remaining cultists scrambled over each other attempting to flee further into the abandoned tunnels.
14. Ok having clarified the rules on how constructs take damage the creature should have been out of commission after atlas's first big attack. For convenience sake we'll say he obliterates it now. Avenger's attack is successful and will ruin a cultists day. Cultists spend a move action standing and another fleeing with varying degrees of success. They head down differing tunnels so you all can split up if you like or chase one group. Its likely that some will escape regardless. Phantom is up.
15. Yea blink hasn't been on site since mid/early December so I'm fine with moving things forward on that front. I just poked AA again if he doesn't jump in by this afternoon/evening go ahead without him :)
16. The meeting of course continued on for quite some time. Get a group such as this discussing a common interest and it was bound to consume its fair share of a day. By the end of the meeting all had exchanged basic contact information and Ace arranged for more detailed plans to be sent his way along with an offer to aid any of the others in their plans related to the matters discussed. His resources and more importantly access certainly would ease the implementation of any plans the assembled minds chose to enact.
17. The shovel once more slammed down onto the mystic amulet the fissures in the gem growing and finally rupturing spilling forth a torrent of necromantic energy almost blinding to those sensitive to such things. The room was filled with the howling of the spirits that had been bound within the dark amulet and the shadowy force of the amulet spilled forth over the entire room like a fine mist. The cultist control of the zombies however seemed to be broken for the moment as the corpses shambled about in a disorganized mess some attacking each other others wandering off or just standing still as if awaiting instructions.
18. 1d20+11=24 Damaged again ... Ok devices are too tough for good story in this case so explody time is now DC 20 Will saves from any undead in the area VS. Confuse DC 20 Reflex VS Dazzle(detect/aware magic) if you can sense magic. Zombies 1d20=10 Creature 1d20+10=12 Lots o' confusion Avenger is Up
19. Alright lets see where this goes then Approved
20. Ok on to the actual approval issues. Stats: Good Combat: Good Saves: Good Skills: Good (Perform: Artis should finish being errased though ) Feats: looks like 4 points not 5 Powers: 70 points spent not 60 Totals are all from previous numbers and should be fixed. I have 30 + 22 + 0 + 24 + 4 + 70 = 150 so it looks like everything adds up just needs to be edited to the current numbers. I'm not gonna withhold Approval for this but I do want to mention that you hover around PL2.5 - 3 without being empowered and are even lower than that on exotic saves. The ref's hopefully will be able to resolve what you can buy as far as enhanced traits go with the 7pp/rank VP if you can't get much in the way of enhanced traits it might be tough for you to ever meet caps. Really the whole VP/custom VP thing is still very much being tested out here so be prepared that we may end up asking these things to get changed again at some point. Those warnings given however if you get the details fixed you'll be good to go.
21. PErsonally I think there were some oversights in the construction of VP's in Ultimate power but here's the way it works as far as I can tell. 6pp/rank; Any power of a given descriptor: This could instead be a category like attributes or skills, as powers however you pick a descriptor such as mutation(even that might be too broad) or Fire, or whatever appeals (Subject to GM approval any descriptor that is considered too broad will be rejected IE magic) every power you construct must be of that descriptor and make sense with that descriptor So fire blast with fire control is fine but an Ice blast wouldn't work for instance. 7pp/rank; Any power any descriptor: No longer restricted to a single descriptor if its a power you can create it. This is the level for really broad descriptors like Cosmic or Magic that can do just about anything as well. So you can pretty freely use any power from UP assuming you can afford it. The descriptor for this kind of power can be pretty varied as well, Gadgets is at this level, you have nearly any power available to you in device form from your huge collection of gadgets and gizmos. The only restriction being that they are devices (which you get the discount for) but you can just as easily pull out a ray gun as a magic wand of polymorph (assuming enough points) 8pp/rank; Any trait or combination of traits: If its on your sheet you can buy it with this Variable. So you can buy powers or skills or attributes or all of them at once. Shapeshift is at this level (though has a limitation on it) so you could go war form and up strength and super strength and get impervious protection, or you could go brianiac form and get intelligence and the inventor feats, or really any combination of stuff you can think of within the points available. The sticking point however is with UP making everything a power. Personally I think this is just Green Ronin having a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. One guy made the Variable rules and another was like "Ya know what would be awesome? If you could buy everything as a power!" but there was insufficient oversight or communication between the two so the difference between 7pp/rank and 8pp/rank (and under some circumstances 6pp/rank) is pretty small even negligible. Basically the difference would be that at 7pp/rank (or 6pp/rank with the right descriptors) it would have to be enhanced (trait) and with 8pp/rank you could just buy the trait as a standard no-enhanced. Frankly not enough of a difference to be worth it or make sense. So far discussion on this matter has leaned towards saying that you can't buy enhanced traits with the 6 or 7 PP/rank versions but thats not a firm ruling just what has been discussed. Its openly stated that at leas tone of the 7pp/rank preconstructeds(empowerment IIRC) can use enhanced traits so we'd have to figure out exactly how all that will work.
22. Well the spirit of the event seems to be no weapons so I assume we're not going in armed (Grim and Jack may decide to do something different it sounds like) So you want to do this with armor or with out quote? Doesn't really make a difference to me.
23. Any objections to putting a fork in this and calling it done?
24. Phalanx arrived already in his blue and gold costume and jogged onto the platform at Edge's cue. When they arrived he shrugged and nodded agreement with Edge, not everyone was as unaffected by extremes as he was. He stepped to the front and carefully cleared a path in the direction indicated trying to make sure Edet was in sight as he cleared a path for the others.
25. The cultists eyes grow wide in panic as the portal is obliterated, they begin to try and gather themselves up to defend once more but clearly are shaken by this turn of events. Continuing their last command the zombies once more shuffle forward to surround and pummel their fellow animate corpse. The Creature continues to try feebly to regain its bearings or find purchase to against the red giant holding it aloft but to no avail.
