THey are very much mooks. For ease of take down they are an DC 13 to hit and get 23 on thier tougness saves. They are packed as tight as they can get around you so 9 are in melee range without you moving and a 5 foot step will get you in range of 3 more so you can take down up to 12 this round if you can keep hitting ;)

Alright thanks for the clarifacation. Dead Head is up.
-
Phantoms eldricht energy found its mark easily despite her allies cloase engagement, the magic coruscating over the creatures massive undead frame did however seem to slow the horrific monster. Twisted hands and arms grabbed futiley at Avenger trying unsuccusfully to pull the agile hero towards its gaping maw. The Zombies slowly turned away from the monstrosity dominating the room and shambled inexorably towards Dead Head reaching out towards their fellow animate corpse as they gathered around him.

"Oh I think she does Jack." Ace said slowly strolling towards the action in the center of the room, "Moira is exceptionally suseptable to a pretty face overiding her better judgement." He glanced somewhat bemused to Taylor for a moment then back to Jack, "I think what you meant to say is that you're not interested. Or have you used up your lies for the day?" In the end Ace found the entire situation absurd. Jack clearly had no such change of heart after Stesha, It sounded as if taylor had straightened him out on that at least. Moiras doe eyed inocence was of course equaly laughable. Moiras lie about the initial encounter had been laughable he wasn't at all sure why they were even still discussing it other than Defending himself against that was far easier than facing up to Jack real crimes. His honesty to Dark Star was touching in a way at least. Maybe Jack might hold out longer than Ace expected. Of course if he did Dracula would be after him sooner rather than later.

Ok does a full round action go off at the end of her round or the begining of her next round that has never been clear to me. Regardless Will Save (1d20:14+8=22) whenever it does go off. Zombies begin to shamble towards Dead Head. Next round they can try a group hug The Creature will initiate a Grapple with Avenger Creature attack (1d20:4+7=11) But can't get a good grip on the slippery bastard ;)

Most of the cultists cast shield or forcefield spells. One searches the robes. Phantom is up.
-
The Creature seemed unfazed by Avengers renewed assault, twisted limbs moving to grasp at the vampire as Dead Head dispatched yet another cultist and the number of active zobies dwindled once more. The Cultists began renewed incantations of protection though nothing to compare to the former ward they had erected. One breaks from the pack to frantically search the ornate robes on the ground before the beast and with a triumphant shout holds aloft an amulet wreathed in twisting shadow.

Toughness save (1d20+18=35) As it was stunned you can actually get the sneak attack off (it is denied its dodge bonus) But I don't think that pumps your damage up that high. It is unfazed by the attack and shakes off the stun. Atlas is up.
-
Ok that'll drop another Cultist and one of the zombies will follow. I'll post that IC after Avengers and possible Atlas actions. Avenger is up.

ROUND 2 FIGHT! 22 - The Creature - Injured and stunned 21 - Dead Head 3 HP - Unharmed 19 - Avenger 2 HP - Unharmed 14 - Atlas 4 HP - Unharmed 6 - Cultists - 9 Remain 1 - Phantom 1 Hp - Unharmed Last - Zombies - 18 Remain The creature is stunned so loses it action. Dead Head is GO!

The cultists seemed too distracted to really notice Phantoms approach or even the bludgeoning of one of there members so focused were they upon trying to rein in their creation. As the Ward collapsed however they turned in horror almost as one towards Phantom, "YOU FOOL YOU'VE KILLED US ALL!" the seeming new leader exclaimed accusatorily. The Zombies continued their futile assault on the Creature undead fists slamming into Undead flesh with a sickly sound.

Ok With analytical magic sense you can tell abit more about the power animateing the zombies. It looks like the zombies animating force is shacked through some pretty dark magic(Mingled necromancy and shadow dimensional) to the life force of the cultists, only 1-3 zombies to a cultist as otherwise it woudl be dangerously draining to led thier life force to animating the bodies. It was deffinately voluentary on the cultists part but was not invoked by any of them but by some greater power. Almost like an answered prayer more than a spell.

Aces mad charge toward the waiting demon hoard slowed to a stroll as the demons faded from sight. "Yea! and don't you come back!" He shouted to the now empty space. He smiled and turned dusting his hands, "Well that was a little anti-climactic." He said and actually seemed mildly disappointed. "Usually we get over run before the bad guys turn tail and run." Perhaps in Aces world that made more sense though to anyone else he was talking pure madness.

Ace rolled his eyes at Scarab, "Come off it Scarab even you're not that out of touch." He said with perhaps more vitriol than he intended. "Jack assaulted her, in a way that most people would find rather horrifying, and she had no idea until now. Add in his generally poor treatment of her throughout the whole affair and I'd say she's taken it surprisingly well. Pretend all you like that his appetites are victimless crimes but we both know thats simply not true." Ace was in fact rather sick of the 'So what?' attitude his fellow heroes took regarding Jacks nature. So long as he kept himself under control his good may outweigh his wrongs but he'd had enough of the molly coddling of Jacks misdeeds rampant amongst his partisans. As Dark Star appeared Ace regarded him carefully, It was never easy to get a read on Dark Star but he looked tired and Ace really didn't like to see his illusions shattered like this. The world needed more of that kind of Faith not less. He offered an gentle smile, "She'll get over it, let her have her sulk bring her some flowers from another world and she'll forgive you in time." He suggested with a shrug.

Avengers fist colided with the Creatures head region with a sickening smack. The Creature stumbled unde the blow and Jack felt aged bone snap under his assault. Weaving precariously the Creature managed to stay upright but was moving only very slowly.
-
Creature Toughness save (1d20:4+19=23) Injured and Stunned! (As a construct non-lethal has no effect on it so I'll assume you all are hitting the Creature and Zombies for Lethal let me know if otherwise) Atlas is up.

As the gate finally winked closed Mike made a controlled plummet to the ground utterly spent. He had pushed his body beyond what he ever had before and while it had held out it had taken a toll on the youth. As his feet hit the ground he stumbled a few steps then collapsed breathing heavily as he tried to recuperate enough to begin the trek home. "What happens now?" he gasped out still not certain how much of the damage was goign to remain.

Ace lounged indolently against a pillar examining his nails. Elena could play to her theatrics he'd play to his own. He wasn't entirely sure what was supposed to be illuminated for him in this little gambit but he was interested to see how it all came out in the end. "So we have company on the way or are we just gonna get this shindig started?" He inquired lazily.

So some of these types of swaps are standard (Fearless for instance). Other suplements suggest more (Warriors and warlocks does this in several areas IIRC). The only real difference in these cases seems to be that they are not able to be used with extra effort and they can't be nullified. this is the same as innate however which has a cost associated. So are these kind of substitutions allowable? Or is it better to just buy them as powers with the Training descriptor? Just looking at it from the perspective of trying to build 'super' normal types, where being able to be nullified doesn't really make much sense.

The cultist barely had time to turn and face the avenging undead before the shovel collided with his head and he dropped to the floor in an almost boneless seeming heap. Across the room there was a twin flare of shadowy energy from two of the Zombies as they suddenly collapsed as well as if they were puppets with thier strings cut.

Cultist toughness save (1d20:3+6=9) KO'd Avenger is up.
-
Initiative 22 - The Creature - Unharmed 21 - Dead Head 3 HP - Unharmed 2 HP for Complications (they disturbed the dead, like alot, and one of your enemies is behind it) 19 - Avenger 2 HP - Unharmed 14 - Atlas 4 HP - Unharmed 6 - Cultists - 10 Remain 1 - Phantom 1 Hp - Unharmed Last - Zombies - 20 Remain The creature will fight zombies on its action so Dead head is up. As a note for AA and Doc the Cultists Ward surrounds only them not the zombies or Creature so without breaking through it you can attack either zombies or the Creature.
-
The Creature (1d20:16+6=22) Cultists (1d20:4+2=6) Zombies go last. Just need Avengers roll and We can kick this off. BTW Dead Head and Avenger need to make a will DC 20 to cross the ward around the cultists.

Ace shrugged, He didn't exactly feel that he was the one who needed Scarabs enlightenment but he was willing to see what Jack had cooked up. Besides it had been awhile since he had seen Elena, not that this was likely to be much of a social call. He quickly stepped through the portal and made his way to the throne room hazarding a guess that Scarab would go for its ambiance in this sort of situation, he was not disapointed. The immortal hero nodded greeting to the Scarab thinking to himself, 'No deffinately not a social call.'

Ace gently crossed the room to Taylors side laying a hand on her own, "Well that could have gone better." He said with a wink, "But better here then with the family right?" He joked gently. Taking a more somber tone he continued, "This isn't goign to end here the both of you are going down a very hard path and its not going to get any easier as time goes on." Not to mention how much time would go on for two such as they, "Just make sure you both know what you're getting into, Till death do us part means something alot different for people like us." Not that he really though Jack was capable of thinking beyond the moment at this point, if he was he wouldn't have proposed this ludicrous concept in the first place. But now was not the time to dwell on Jack many shortcomings, enough of that seemed ongoing this afternoon.
