Mike blushed slightly at the complement, "Well I'm glad I went for the new look then." He took a sip off his drink and set the cup down carefully. "It's gonna make it way harder to hide when I fall asleep in class though." He joked.
-
Mike laughed outloud. "No that was dad, he's alergic and hated that thing." He quickly slid the roast chicken from its thermal wrapper splitting it on to the two plates. This was followed by potato salad and Alexes favorite greenbeansalad from when they were kids. He looped one arm over her should and balanced the plats on one broad thigh. He leaned in conspiritorily, "I'm not even sure its free range." he whispered and popped a morsel into his mouth.
-
Mike smiled and slowly descended as the light faded. He pulled jacket from where he had discarded it when setting up earlier and set it gently on her shoulders. "Well if theres anything that I'll miss a meal for it'd be this." He said with a grin, "But as my Mom say theres kids staving in China." He lifted a few solid looking candles from the basket and tiny beams of red-orange light lanced from his eyes to light them, casting the glade in thier joyfull flickering light.

"Princes of the Universe" Ace said as he slid into his seat. "Great song, one of my personal faves." He took a sip from his drink and winked at Lynn, "Or you could go with 'One is the Loneliest Number' to bemoan being stuck unattatched with this lot." He gestured at the couples with feigned disgust. "As long as you don't mind risking some gallent soul solving your problem." he added flirtatously.
-
Mike smiled down at her, sliding one arm under her knees to cradle her in his arms. "Well maybe I'm just impatient then." He said laughter clear in his voice. He was silent for a time watching the sun set and relishing in the nearness of his other half.
-
The scattered remains of the cult were easily gathered. Mike quickly bent the long wrought iron fence encloasing the water park into a makeshift holding pen around the captured cultists. He began checking ont he unconcious ones then making sure none of the injuries were too grievous and puting the relitively healthy ones in the pen as well.
-
Mike returned her fervor, his own joy almost palpable across the bond. He effortlessly pulled her off the ground and slowly ascended just above the treetops easily supporting her weight in his arms. He reluctantly broke the kiss and looked out over the setting sun, "So still think you can wait? I know I can't." He grinned coyley and pressed his lips to hers once more.
-
Ace turned and examined the impetuous young hero before him. Most people of Aces age and experiance would be offended at such a challenge, Ace was not most people, besides the green clad young man reminded Ace of himself a little too much to fault him. Ace also was determined to treat this young man with the same respect his fellows had been shown when they were sent into this mess. He wasn't 100% on board with Phantoms plan but he hadn't had a better suggestion either. "Your friends chose their task because they have the greatest chance of success." He replied simply and candidly. "No one known to the hoard would be able to get close and they have more means at their disposal than any of us to put this to an end." "As for help every hero we can spare has been sent to draw the hoards away and give them the best chance we can at stopping this." He leaned in and softly added for the youths ears alone, "And do you really want soemone like Arrowhawk or the Interceptors to stop the one holding the gate? Or someone who knows him?" He leaned back and smiled wide, "Now then if you don't have any more questions I think I could use a hand bringing up some of the other defense systems online."

So between the 7 of us are we able to round up the fleeing cultists?
-
Ok striagtened out what we're trying finally. If (more like when) James is fiated out of my grip Psyche and Phalanxe are gonna go super saiyan on the demons Standard action Grab Psyche and James, Free action shift paragon array to flight 7 for a total flight of 8 (2,500mph), Move action fly max distance away.
-
Phalanx gathered James and Psyche under each arm protectively. He crouched for a moment and shouted to Erin and Mark. "I have James get out of here!" Then shot skyward, twisting to protect his injured friend from the grasping claws of the beasts that pursued them.

Yea we should really figure out IG why Gecks wasn't with the rest of them.
-
I know Mike and Alex tell her to stay at the manor where she'll be "safe" while they go off to save the world. Surely nothing could go wrong with that plan
-
Mike smiled at that and replied, "Oh you think I'm so pliable do you?" with mock offense. He looked deeply into her eyes, "Alex, why would I want to wait? You're everything I want, I don't know how to say it any more plainly." He took a deep breath, "I love you." And he leaned in gently pressing his lips to hers as he pulled her slender frame into his arms.
-
Phalanx laid one big hand atop the rest of theirs fixing the moment in his memory, "Forever." He said simply looking each of them in the eye. He would make sure each of them made it through this.

Ace smiled at the fervor in the young heroes, "We are the help." He said with a wink. Taking a more serious tone for the moment he elaborated, "We know there is a gate in riverside that is the source of the trouble. There is a team trying to get it closed. If they succeed its just cleanup from there, if not we'll find another way." He hadn't been privy to all of Phantoms plans but he knew enough to know this had gone on long enough that the other teams success was becoming seriously in doubt.

Mike looked slightly hurt and confused for a glimmer of a second, then looked concerned to Alex, "Well I guess I could too but I don't want to." he replied somewhat more intensely than he intended. Mike softened and took her hand, "I don't see a point in waiting, but if its too soon after eveything for you I will." he said solemly.
-
Mike shrugged as he glanced away, not the most in touch with his feelings even by teenage boy standards this was a tough question. "Well it at least it'll let me pretend it was a surprise to someone other than me." He said with a self depricating laugh. He looked back to Alex with a smile wide on his face, "Because it feels right?" he replied, clarifying, "I can't imagine not having you around, and not like its too terrible so I refuse too, but I literally can't picture my life without you in it." He stopped to guage her reactions, why now? why her? it all seemed so clear in his head but he didn't really know the words and why not? seemed both lame and mildly insulting.

Ours is back up. And should be more stable as its been migrated off my roomates development machine.
-
With the swell of unwholesome sensations Phalanx blushed then set his face in determination ignoring the feelings and movign to defend Breakdown from the creature. When it vanished he remained near his comrade until he was certain Breakdown was once again well.
-
The deamons tore visciously at Phalanx. Carveing deep slashes into his impervious skin, but he held fast battered but not beaten. His eyes flashed with a bright orange light as he dug deep into his reserves prepareing to get them all out of there as he pulled Alex and James closer.

Toughness saves (1d20+17=24, 1d20+17=23) Another bruise and the other would get knocked down to a bruise plus stun so I'm gonna re-roll HP for Reroll Toughness save (1d20+16=28) So I'm at 2 bruises. 1 HP left.

Yea the base teleporter can get us where we need to go if its not jammed by the demonic nastyness.

Ace put on a brave smile about the inevitable rescue at the hands of the league or other heroes. He'd been trying to contact anyone outside the city since this began and had no response, the league woudl try certainly but the only thing they could rely on here was eachother. "I'm sure they'll make every effort." He said, "None the less we best be prepared to handle what we can on our own, after all don't want to leave all the glory to the League." He left Dark Star and fleur to have what privacy the gardens coudl afford approaching the young heroine Tarantula. "Hopefully the rest does you well, we'll need you once again before the day is through." He had heard of her daring exploits at the Archetech building.
